Mesogog? Maybe.
Thanks!
Evangella Akriti: Yeah, so was I.
Maybe Mesogog doesn't even know yet.
Thanks!
KD: Together, in the physical sense. In the relationship sense, they still have a long way to go.
Tommy and Kimberly were wide awake and waiting for their breakfast to be delivered to their room. They were currently watching Japanese Power Rangers on the TV and having a good laugh about it.
"Look at my hair," Tommy said, pointing at the green ranger on-screen. "I don't look like that at all." Kim chuckled as Green was floored, making his mop like hair go all over his face.
A reporter showed up on the scene and started speaking. The subtitles read: 'There's a new green ranger in the team but where is the yellow ranger? Wait, what's this? A pink ranger?!'
"Oh c'mon!" Kim cried out, her eyes wide with disbelief. "I'm sure Cassidy wasn't there. Wasn't my first public appearance when Trent became good again?"
"Yeah, I think-" he began but was cut off by Pink demorphing to reveal a crazy looking teenager with a mo-hawk hairstyle.
"Now they're just making fun of me," Kim complained, reaching over for the remote. Tommy quickly grabbed it, holding it out of her reach.
"No, it'll be fun," Tommy insisted as Kim practically wrestled with him, her damp hair caressing his face. "Besides, we haven't seen the others."
He stopped struggling, giving her the opportunity to pin him down. She planted a soft kiss on his lips before releasing him and rolling off.
"Fine," the pink ranger conceded, sitting up and looking at the TV. Tommy sat up too, slinging an arm around her. She leaned on him, her wet hair meeting his.
Trent opened his eyes, groaning as the world seemed to spin. He removed his hand from the soft body it was slung over and rubbed his eyes. Wait. Soft body?
The white ranger turned to see the purple ranger sleeping next to him, the duvet covering her body. His vision went blurry and he lifted the duvet to see that he, too, was naked like her.
Oh well done, Trent. Well done.
Sitting up and ignoring the light headedness, memories of the night before flooded his mind. He put his head in his hands and closed his eyes as he recalled how he kissed her, how he undressed her, how he gave her love bites all over her body and, most importantly, how he gave in to his feelings for her. He opened his eyes at that last realisation, tears rolling down his face.
Kira was going to get hurt again. What they did last night changed everything. They couldn't just be friends now, not that they were in the first place. Not really. The mutual attraction had been there from the very beginning, their first meeting, but he had been too stupid to realise it. It was too bloody late now; her feelings for him were too deep. He felt her stir beside him and quickly got up.
Just then, someone knocked on the door. Trent threw on whatever he had on the night before and opened it.
"Hi," Tori greeted, wearing a navy blue shirt which looked like a really short dress on her. He looked down to see that she was holding his bag.
"Hi," he replied, trying to ignore the teasing look on her face.
"Here's your bag," she told him, holding it up towards him. "We got it from Cam's room this morning. My bag for yours?"
"Uhh sure, that was nice of you," he agreed, going over to the sky blue bag that lay on the floor near the unused closet.
"Is Kira in?" Tori questioned, smiling innocently. Trent looked towards the bed, his face colouring.
"Yeah, she's still sleeping," he answered quietly, as they swapped bags.
"Late night?" she implored, raising an eyebrow with a cheeky look on her face.
Trent let out a nervous laugh, looking down. "We got back before everyone else," he pointed out, trying to defend himself. "Sorry, I gotta shower."
Tori nodded, knowing that he desperately wanted her to leave. "Okay, see ya!" She closed the door behind her and Trent sighed in relief before going into the ensuite.
"Kira!"
The purple ranger suddenly woke up, looking around in confusion. Who was that? It sounded like Conner's voice... She shook her head and got up, stretching her arms out. She heard the sound of a shower running and smiled to herself, wrapping the bedspread around her like a dress. Kira made her way to the door, opening it to reveal Conner and Ethan.
"Hi-" Ethan started, stopping when he saw what she was wearing. Or rather, what she wasn't wearing. His eyes went wide and he chanced a glance at Conner who raised an eyebrow.
"It took you long enough," the red ranger mumbled. Ethan and Kira both gave him a look. "I mean to answer the door," he clarified, realising what his earlier statement sounded like.
"Anyway, we just came to ask when you guys wanted to leave," Ethan told her, startling Kira. You guys. That meant that everyone knew about what happened between her and Trent last night... "It's half nine now and Kim and Tommy only just started eating breakfast. Kim said she's leaving at eleven."
"Don't we have to check out at eleven anyway?" Kira enquired, rubbing her eyes.
"Yeah, I think so," Conner replied before his mobile phone started ringing. He took it out of his pocket and looked at it. "Oh, it's Dad. See ya later Kira," he said, before answering the phone and walking away.
"See ya," Kira called after him. She then looked at Ethan. "So, did you have a good night? It looks like you didn't get any sleep."
"Oh it was great!" Ethan exclaimed, grinning. "The wi-fi here is phenomenal!" Kira laughed and rolled her eyes. Of course Ethan stayed up all night on his laptop instead of sleeping. "Anyway, our room had two beds. For a minute there, I thought I would have to sleep on the floor."
"Wait... Two beds?" Kira questioned, frowning.
"Yeah, why?" Ethan asked, entering the room to discover it was only one queen sized bed. He turned back round to look at Kira and smirked. "It's not like you needed two beds anyway."
"Ethan, I'm warning you," she muttered darkly, narrowing her eyes at him. He immediately dropped the teasing smirk and coughed.
"Looks like you had a good night anyway. You've got a glow about you."
"Thanks," she grumbled sarcastically, guiding him out of the room. "I'm gonna order some breakfast now so bye!" She shut the door on his annoying face and sat down on the bed, recalling everything from the night before.
Trent was so complicated. He'd hug her, then push her away, kiss her, push her away, make love to her, push her away. Just what was his problem? He didn't seem like the sort of guy who played with girls' feelings but then again, that's exactly what he was doing.
Just then, Trent stepped out of the ensuite. He had nothing on but a towel wrapped around his lower half, making Kira remember everything from the night before. Her cheeks burned when he saw her and they made eye contact.
It felt so natural, the two of them standing there in a hotel room, him in a towel and her in a bedspread.
"Can you order breakfast for two?" Kira asked, remembering how to speak.
"Yeah, sure," Trent replied, a little stunned that she didn't immediately start interrogating him about last night. He watched Kira go to the shower, wondering what on Earth he got himself into.
"What's that noise?" Kira asked after she stopped chewing. High pitched screams were heard coming from outside.
Trent put his food down, getting up and going towards the window. It was already open albeit slightly so he pushed it open even further. Kira joined him and they looked out of the window to see a new monster.
"A monster? Here?" Trent said, confused. "I guess we have to go." Kira nodded and they quickly left their room to exit the hotel.
"There!" Kira pointed out, her finger poised in the direction of the pink monster.
"Hey guys!" Conner called, running up to them with Ethan in tow.
"What kind of monster is this?" Ethan asked as they all ran closer to the monster.
It was a creature that pretty much looked like a bunch of hearts stuck together. Mesogog's team had never created something so unorthodox before, as strange as it seemed. Plus, as far as they knew, Mesogog's monsters only attacked Reefside. So why the exception?
All of a sudden, Trent saw the monster grab an unmorphed and defenceless Kira by the hair and hold a gun like weapon to her head. She started thrashing in his arms, her eyes wide with fear and agony.
"Let her go!" Trent demanded, morphing in front of all the citizens that were present there.
"What are you doing, White?" Tommy questioned, also morphed. He and Kim had morphed beforehand; there were too many people in the area to morph right there. But Trent had disregarded all the rules in favour of his heart.
"He's got Kira!" Trent shouted in exasperation, as if it was obvious. Ethan looked at the monster and saw only it. In fact, Kira was standing right next to him.
"No, he's got Tommy!" Kim shrieked, starting to panic.
Soon enough, Kira fell under the delusion that Trent was in danger while Tommy believed that the monster had Kim in his grasp.
Tori, Blake, Dustin and Shane joined them, the former three going crazy. Tori and Blake only saw each other and all Dustin could see was Marah.
"It's a love monster," Ethan deduced. Conner gave him a questioning look. "It's creating illusions of their significant others, making them believe they're in danger when they're not."
Conner nodded while Shane lost his cool. He watched his fellow ninjas freak out and considered how much worse it'd get if Cam and Hunter decided to come outside. Not that they could; they were severely hungover.
"It's up to us then?" Conner questioned as the ninjas and other dino rangers kept getting pummelled because the monster disguised itself as their loved ones.
"Yeah, I guess," Shane surmised.
Ethan nodded and went into the fray, intent on attacking the monster. However, when he actually did so, he was met with retaliation from Trent, Kira, Tori, Dustin, Blake, Tommy and Kim.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" Dustin demanded.
"Stop trying to hurt Blake!" Tori snarled.
"Tori, Blake's right next to you!" Shane pointed out. Tori looked to her left, straight at Blake, and then looked back at Shane. For a minute, the red ninja was lulled into a false sense of security before his long time friend gave him a menacing glare.
"You liar!"
Conner, Ethan and Shane all stared at her in shock. How could she not see Blake?
"There's no point! They're all blinded by love!" Ethan commented.
"Let's just take all the others out," Conner proposed. Shane and Ethan regarded him with apprehension before reluctantly agreeing.
Obviously, the trio failed. Three rangers versus seven delusional and misguided rangers obviously wasn't going to work. The fact that civilians were openly staring at them didn't help; many of the dino rangers had morphed in public. To the bystanders, it looked as if Trent, Kira, Tommy and Kim were protecting some civilians (Blake, Tori and Dustin) from the evil red and blue rangers (along with Shane, a stray civilian).
"It's no use. They're too strong!" Shane yelled.
"Hey you!" Conner called. Everyone instantly looked at him, including the monster who pointed at itself. "Yeah, you! Bet you can't catch me!"
The monster laughed, recognising the red ranger's feeble attempt to divide and conquer.
"Why do you bother, Red? He - it - would never come out on it's own!" Ethan added, his voice deliberately loud enough for the monster to hear.
"Yeah, it's too much of a coward. It likes hiding behind people because it hasn't got the guts to enter a fair fight!" Shane said, playing along with the two dino rangers.
"Hey!" the monster whined, having failed to roar. "I'm not a coward!"
"Prove it!" Ethan challenged. "Catch the red ranger!"
All three boys smiled as the monster fell for the bait. Conner whizzed off and the monster followed. Ethan nodded at Shane, silently agreeing that the latter would stay behind to appease the others, before he chased after the monster.
"What happened?" Tori groaned, rubbing her head. She looked around to see that Kira, Trent, Dustin, Blake, Tommy and Kim all appeared to be as disorientated at her. Shane, Conner and Ethan all looked fine though, if not a little concerned.
"Hey, what are you looking at?!" Kira shouted at the bystanders. Within seconds, the crowd of bewildered civilians dispersed. Kira shook her head, feeling really light headed. She could only remember feeling like this twice before; after she was brainwashed by Fossilador and Tutenhawken, on two separate occasions. She blinked a few times.
"Weren't we... at Blake's race?" Dustin asked, his head pounding.
"You don't remember anything after that?" Shane prompted.
Trent's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "No, should we?"
Conner and Ethan suddenly blanched. If no one remembered the party, that also meant that Kira and Trent didn't remember what happened last night. And right now, the two of them were the only ones who did. They exchanged subtle looks before diverting their gazes just as quickly.
Conner coughed and nudged Ethan.
"Well," Ethan began, thinking of something to say. "We came out here to party. A severely drunk Cam and Hunter are the proof. We better start thinking about getting back home."
"Yep, for once, I really feel the need to do my homework," Conner said, nodding in agreement.
"And we need to get back to the academy and tell them that Sensei Watanabe won't be in today. And we'll probably have to drop by the Thunder Ninja Academy to do the same for Hunter," Shane put in.
The others begrudgingly agreed with the trio and set about recovering their belongings. Conner and Ethan exchanged worried looks when they realised that Trent would find his stuff in Kira's room. Great. How were they going to get out of this one?
A/N: We'll be back on 'canon' by next week. Ciao!
