It was June and the kids were to go home soon, but Sirius and Remus haven't found him yet. Him, meaning Peter, was still in the school, somewhere lurking about. They were in the shack as they looked at the old Marauder's Map to look at footsteps of students and teachers alike. Remus looked at the map and glanced at Hagrid's hut, and saw the familiar name of Peter Pettigrew. They've always overlooked Hagrid's hut, never thinking the rat would be there but now they got him.

"Tomorrow...Is our only chance."

"Yes...Tomorrow then."

Sirius sat quietly in his dog form watching the hut as he saw Harry and his friends enter inside. They were speaking to Hagrid as the man handed Ron his pet, or known as growls a bit but glanced back at Harry as he sat quietly in the shadows of the trees.

He looks just like you James…

Sirius had waited long enough for this moment as he saw the kids leave the back door and huddled back to the castle. As he patted through the trees he thought he saw something as he glanced back. He tasted the air to find it was some kind of canine beasts lurking about, but he thought he saw a taller figure as well. He ignored it as Sirius slowly followed the trio back to the castle to the point that they stopped at the pillars to watch back at Hagrid's hut to watch Buckbeak's execution. His heart broke to see them so young witness such thing but then Peter bit Ron's finger and try to run. Sirius quickly stood up and ran after the children. As he reaches them Ron yelled out,

"Hermione, Harry run!"

Sirius jumps out but avoids Hermione and Harry. He knew he couldn't take the rat from Ron's hand and decided to drag him to the secret passageway.

"Help me! Harry! Hermione! HELP!"

Sirius continued to drag the boy till they got to the shack and as soon as he let the boy go, he crawled over to the corner to whimper. Sirius changed back to him human form as he heard the sounds of running footsteps behind him. Harry and Hermione dashed across to him.

" Ron. You're okay?"

" The dog. Where is it?"

"It's a trap. He's the dog. He's an Animagus!"

Sirius slowly moved the broken door frame as he saw the children look at the bloody paw prints that lead to him. He couldn't help but give an evil grin the fact that he can finally reveal the truth of the real murder, the real traitor that killed James and Lily. He saw the young girl named Hermione jump in front of Harry as she yells out at him,

"If you want to kill Harry, you have to kill us too!"

"No. Only one will die tonight."

"Then it'll be you!"

Harry dashed across and grabs Sirius by his clothes and pins him down on the floor. Sirius couldn't help but give out a cackle of a laugh as he saw Harry pointed his wand at him.

"Are you going to kill me, Harry?"

More footsteps were heard as someone yell out a spell, making Harry's wand fly out of his hand.

"Expelliarmus!"

They all looked up to see Remus with his wand as he nodded Harry to move away. Remus slowly walked over to Sirius as he looked down at him.

"Well, well, Sirius. Looking rather ragged, aren't we? Finally, the flesh reflects the madness within."

"Well, you'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you?"

Sirius looked up at Remus who held his wand, lowered it and gave a hand. Sirius took his hand as he says in a deranged manner,

"I found him."

" - I know."

" He's here."

"- I understand."

"Let's kill him! "

"- No! I trusted you! And all this time, you've been his friend. He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes."

They both looked at the young girl Hermione to see her somewhat afraid as all of them huddled in the corner. Sirius was getting anxious while Remus looked at the young girl with surprise.

"How long have you known?"

Remus inquired as Sirius was more fixated on Peter as he tapped his foot.

"Since Professor Snape set the essay."

"Well, Hermione, you are the brightest witch of your age I've ever met-"

"Enough talk, Remus! Come on, let's kill him!"

"Wait!" Remus tried to calm Sirius down but Sirius turned to him with nothing but fury as he couldn't help but throw his hands in the air and yell back at Remus.

"I did my waiting!...Twelve years of it!...In Azkaban!"

"...Very well. Kill him. -But wait one more minute. Harry has the right to know why."

"I know why. You betrayed my parents. You're the reason they're dead!"

Harry exclaimed at him as Remus raised his arms to cut him off.

"-No, it wasn't him. Somebody did betray your parents... Somebody who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead!"

"-Who was it, then?"

"Peter Pettigrew! And he's in this room! Right now! Come out, come out, Peter! - Come out, come out and play!"

"Expelliarmus!"

Suddenly Sirius looks back to see the oh so familiar Professor Snape, or Snivellus as he and the rest of the Marauders would call him. Severus knocked out the only wand that Sirius had at the moment.

"Vengeance is sweet. How I hoped I'd be the one to catch you."

"Severus…" Remus tries to calm the man down but Severus glared at him and pointed his wand.

"I told Dumbledore you were helping a friend into the castle. Here's the proof. "

"Brilliant, Snape. You've put your keen mind to the task and come to the wrong conclusion. If you'll excuse us, Remus and I have business to attend to."

"Give me a reason. I beg you!" Severus said with a sneer as Remus tries to interject as usual.

"Don't be a fool."

"He can't help it. It's habit."

"Be quiet."

"Be quiet yourself!"

"You two, quarrelling like an old married couple."

"Run along and play with your chemistry set!"

"I could do it, you know. But why deny the dementors? They're so longing to see you. Do I detect a flicker of fear? Oh, yes. A Dementor's Kiss. One can only imagine what that must be like. It's said to be nearly unbearable to witness, but I'll do my best."

"Severus, please."

Severus pointed his wand at Remus as Remus placed his arms down. He gave out a small hiss as he said with a harsh cold voice,

"After you."

"Grrr…"

A creature ran from the door to attack the professor but instead of biting him it tackled. It pushed the professor back to hit his head against the wall knocking him out as the large beast looked back. Sirius stared at the large wolf and whispered,

"...Valiant?"

"That thing attacked our teacher!"

"Blimey it's huge!"

"Forget the wolf, tell me about Peter." Harry demanded as he pointed Hermione's wand at them. Everyone looked back at Harry as Remus came a bit closer,

"He was at school with us. We thought he was our friend! "

"No. Pettigrew's dead. You killed him!"

"No, he didn't. I thought so too, until you mentioned Pettigrew on the map!"

"The map was lying, then."

"The map never lies! Pettigrew's alive! And he's right there!"

Sirius pointed at the rat but Ron thought he was pointing at him and yelled,

"Me?! He's mental!

"Not you! Your rat!"

"Scabbers has been in my family for…"

"Twelve years? Curiously long life for a common garden rat! He's missing a toe, isn't he?"

"So what?"

"All they could find of Pettigrew was his…" Harry was finally piecing things together as Sirius exclaims,

"Finger! Dirty coward cut it off so everyone would think he was dead! And then he transformed into a rat!"

"Show me."

Harry demanded as the dire wolf walked around the room to approach Ron, while Ron cowered back a bit. The wolf quickly grabs onto his rat by the scruff as Ron yells out,

"Scabbers! Leave him alone! Scabbers!"

Sirius saw the beast about to run with Peter as he quickly reached out to grab the darn rat. The wolf moved it's head but accidently dropped Peter. Peter scurried about as Remus and Sirius pointed their wands and at the same time got Peter as he transformed back into the human he once was. Sirius and Remus grabbed the fat man and pulled him out of the hole in the wall as he looked at both of them and gave a little smile,

"Remus? Sirius. My old friends!"

He tried to make a run for it but the wolf from earlier came in front of him and growl, showing off it's fangs as it looked as if it was about to attack. Peter cowered away and went to Harry with a rat like smile and says,

"Harry! Look at you. You look so much like your father. James. We were the best of friends... "

"How dare you speak to Harry! How dare you talk about James in front of him!" Sirius yelled at Peter as he tried to run away but Sirius and Remus blocked the ways. Remus looked at Peter and said,

"You sold James and Lily to Voldemort!"

"I didn't mean to! The Dark Lord. You have no idea the weapons he possesses! Ask yourself, Sirius! What would you have done?"

"Died, rather than betray my friends!"

Peter ran to Harry and grabbed him by the arms, whispering in his ear,

"James wouldn't have wanted me killed! Your dad would have spared me! He would have shown me mercy!"

The dire wolf grabbed Peter by his clothes in the back to pull him away from Harry and turned him away to have Sirius and Remus have their wands pointed at him.

"Should have realized if Voldemort didn't kill you, we would. Together!"

Before they could cast anything, Harry exclaimed,

"No!"

"...Harry, This man-"

"I know what he is...We'll take him to the castle." Harry replied as she saw something in his eyes, something tender as if he already knew what to do. Peter grovel on his knees as he tries to touch Harry.

"Bless you boy! Bless you!"

"Get off! I said we'd take you to the castle. After that, the dementors can have you."

Peter shivered in feet as Sirius looked down at Valiant who rubbed his head against his hand. He finally noticed something in his fur. He reached and took it out to find a single petal that was tangled in his fur. It was a little white petal like it came from a small flower. Sirius looked back at Valiant and nodded his head as he quickly went over to help Harry with his friend Ron while in the back of his head he knew what he needed to do.

After that was a blur. Remus got out of control and turned into a werewolf, letting Wormtail escape. Sirius was badly injured with the dementors slowly eating his soul piece by piece. Harry tried to save him but instead a white mist of a stag appeared and pushed the dementors away, while Harry lost consciousness. That white mist however was Harry who not only saved Sirius but Buckbeak as well with Hermione. They went back in time using the timeturner. They quickly snuck away and waited till Sirius was taken to one of the castle cells. They flew on Buckbeak and helped Sirius escaped. It was a great ride as they stopped inside Hogwarts at one of the more secluded courtyards.

"I'll be forever grateful for this... to both of you."

Sirius turned to look at Hermione and Harry. Harry took a step forward and said,

" I want to go with you."

"One day, perhaps. For some time my life will be too unpredictable. And besides, you're meant to be here."

Sirius said in a soft voice as he took Harry by the shoulder as they both sat on the bench.

"But, you're innocent."

"And you know it. And for now, that'll do."

Hermione was trying to calm Buckbeak as Sirius looked at Harry with his expression soft.

"I expect you're tired of hearing this... but you look so like your father. Except your eyes... you have-"

"My mother's eyes."

"It's cruel that I got to spend so much time with James and Lily, and you so little... But know this- the ones that love us never really leave us, and you can always find them... in here."

Sirius slowly got up and gave Harry a hug as he finally felt at peace as he walks over and takes over Buckbeak from Hermione. He quickly got on as he looked down and smiled at Hermione and said,

"You really are the brightest witch of your age."

He quickly gave Buckbeak a nudge on the side as the beast ran full speed and flew up in the air, looking back to see the two as they run back into the castle. He finally felt free as the truth was finally revealed to Harry as he and Buckbeak flew all the way to the other side of the Black Lake. As soon as they landed Sirius quietly took the chain off Buckbeak and pat the beast.

"...You'll walk through those halls again someday."

He turned around to see a hooded figure. At first he was a bit startled, about to jump back on Buckbeak's back before realizing it was a familiar voice.

"It's me Sirius."

"Ah...Sorry my dear, its been quite a day."

She slowly slipped her hood down as she fluttered her eyes at him. Black as midnight hair surrounded her face like silk curtains while she gave a gentle smile. Her skin was pale like the moon as she walked over to him. Her eyes were ice blue, harsh and chilling, but for a flicker of a moment turned amber. She took out a small vial and hands it to him as he slowly takes it. He looks at her as he drinks the vial and coughs a bit by the horrendous taste. He slowly felt his body change as he flinches to look down at his hands to a pair of clean ones. He quietly walks to the water to look at himself to see he looked like Remus. He looks back at her and chuckled,

"Where did you manage to get a strand of his hair?"

"His ripped clothes that he left behind...Even in his human form I think he sheds."

He muses as Valiant walked over to them with a small bag between his teeth.

"Thank you dear."

Valiant nodded his head as he gave the bag to Sirius. Sirius opened it up to find clothing, something Remus would wear. He quickly walked over behind a tree and changed while the girl waited with her wolf. He came around wearing a brown cardigan and some dark brown dress pants.

"I must tell Remus to improve his wardrobe."

"Alright enough bark, we need to go."

He gave a low chuckle as he walks back over to her as he smiles,

"I'm not a dog right now."

"But I know you turn into one...Where would you like to go? Do you have a place in mind?"

Sirius stared out at the water as the thought for a moment as his smile turned into a grim facade. He slowly looks back at the girl and says,

" 12 Grimmauld Place…"

"I don't know where that is so I can't apparate us there."

"You know the Long Borough of Islington?"

"Yes, I've walked there before why?"

"Because that's where the place is."

"Alright, take my hand then."

He smiles at the girl as she gave one back as he slowly took her hand as they walked over to Buckbeak. They flew away from the castle, just far enough to be able to apparate. They realized Buckbeak into the wild, hoping he would naturally find a group of his own. As soon as they watched the beast fly away, they apparated out with his last sight on the beautiful castle of Hogwarts in the far off horizon. Once he felt the ground on his feet he stumbles a bit, reaching out to balance himself on a wall. He was still weak from the dementor attack as the girl gently helps him. He looked at her with a small smile as she gently placed his arm over her shoulder while Valiant looked around to make sure no one saw them. Sirius instructed where to go as they reached a place of what looked like apartments. Sirius slowly stopped as girl says,

"There's no twelve."

He looks at the girl and gave a chuckle as he slowly taps his foot on the ground. Slowly the buildings start to expand but the muggles didn't seem to notice anything. Slowly another building was created into the complex as the number twelve appeared at the door. The girl looked at him and gave a giggle,

"Alright, I see it now...Shall we?"

They entered inside to find the place dirty and dreary as they walked down the hall. As they walked there was a screaming woman in a portrait painting before Sirius placed an old cover over the portrait. The girl didn't say anything as Sirius slowly lead them up to the second floor where there were various rooms, many with old furniture and dust covering them. There was an old house elf that looked surprised to see Sirius before Sirius yelled at it to go away. Soon he lead them to one room and he opened it to, where it had a small fireplace and a simple window with an old bed as he coughed,

"It isn't much but this place is protected...My father was very good at that…"

"So it's safe?"

"Yes, it's safe."

She looked at him as he slowly changed back into himself noticing his height changed and his dark hair falling around his face. She smiled as the pale skin faded and the black curtain changing like the sun rising. Slowly fair skin appears with gentle sunshine hair appears with soft gentle waves. Youth returned to her face as she gives him a hug. He hugs her back as he says,

"...Nice to see you Serenity."

"Nice to see you too Sirius."

Like pieces of a puzzle everything was falling into place for Sirius as he looked down at his niece. He picks her up and twirls her around as she giggled until he let her back down. He placed her arms length away and looks into her eyes and says,

"We are family."

"And family stick together."

They smiled at each other as they talked for awhile, as he heard her story as he told his to hers. Her vision of Harry accepting him was true but he was still a convicted criminal. She gently reached out to touch his hand and looked at him.

"To the world you are a criminal but in the eyes of your family you are free...That's all you really need, especially from Harry."

"I know…"

"Before I forget, I must tell you that before I came to pick you up I saw Dumbledore...Don't worry no one saw me as me."

"What did he say?"

"At first he thought I was lying when I changed in front of him...But after I explained myself and even used my gift a little he realized what I had done...He was quite angry at me actually."

"I could imagine…"

They continued to talk until Serenity got tired and fell asleep in the couch in the living room. He slowly took off his cardigan and placed it over her as she slept. He slowly walked over to the fireplace and took some floo powder to convey a message to Dumbledore.

" Albus, I have arrived...It seems we have much to discuss and I look forward in seeing you later on this week, and please bring some papers for me...I'll send you the details in the morning."

He sent the floo message as he looked back at Serenity and sit back down to the couch that was next to her. He gazed at his young niece as he realized she should sleep properly. He slowly scooped the girl up, though he was pretty weak himself at the moment, she was light enough for him to take her up to a room. He slowly placed her onto the bed and sat at the edge, reaching out to move a strand of hair off her face. He leans down to give a gentle kiss on her forehead as he got up to leave. He walked back down to go to the portrait room of their family tree. He saw his parents as his scorched face. He looked at his father and gave a grim look as he took out Serenity's wand, which he took from her earlier when she fell asleep. He pointed at the wall and gently whispers a spell as the vines moved around the walls, making room for more as three images appeared on the wall. Two portraits that looked at each other with warmth and love, one with moon and the other the sun, making Sirius smiled.

It was Amelia Evans and Jonathan Black Aragon. Then their vines connected to lead down to a portrait of a light haired girl with emerald green eyes to stare back at him with a little smile on her lips. It said, Serenity Alice Black Aragon, as he looked at Jonathan and Amelia's faces one more time and whispers,

"Thank you both...I thought I lost my family but instead you two gave me one...One that I promise to cherish in your place. I promise Jonathan I'll take care of her."

Valiant, who was asleep by the fireplace, walked over to Sirius and rubbed his head against the man's hand. He glanced down at the large beast and smiled,

"Alright, I'll go to sleep now…"

He slowly walks out of the room to go upstairs and stopped at Serenity's door. Valiant walked in and jumped on her queen size bed, laying at the end to keep his eyes at the door. Sirius nodded his head as he slowly closed the door and went off to his own room, taking a quick shower and changed before falling onto his bed to get some sleep and having a peaceful dream...One with everyone he loved in it with nothing but smiles and laughter.
