Serenity was in the guest room, rummaging through her bag as she heard a firm knock on the door. She stopped and called out,
"Yes?"
The door opened as she saw Sirius enter in, completely different. He finally took a shower and shaved, wearing clean clothes as she couldn't help but smile. His wavy hair went just past his chin as he made his mustache neat. He wore a black dress shirt with a waistcoat, and a brown coat over it and some black trousers to match. He looked very handsome he smiled back at her and said,
"We have a guest."
She nodded her head as she says softly,
"Alright, I'll be done in a few moments."
He slowly closed her door as she brushed her hair quickly. She wore her favorite white sweater with her light blue skinny jeans. She wore some simple boots with a slight heel as she quickly walked out to go greet the guest. She heard voices and followed, avoiding Kreacher who was wandering the halls mopping. As she entered the portrait room she saw Dumbledore sitting at one of the couches as he looked up to see her. She saw a small tear appear in the corner of his eye as he slowly stood up, while she walked over to him and gave a hug.
"I still can't believe you're here."
"Well I am, and please don't cry...This is a happy day."
"It is indeed child...It is indeed."
She smiled at him as they all sat close by each other.
"I know you gave me a brief summary of your story but please tell it again...What happened to you?"
She looked at Sirius before looking at Dumbledore. She gave a small sigh as she knew both of them wanted to know her full story as she took in a breathe.
"After I created my own death, I left England to America. I have heard of magical beings and creatures there that could possibly help me get in tapped with my visions or at least help me figure out another way to somewhat improve my chances of fate. As I was there I met many people from vampires to animagus that they call werewolves there. There were even faeries but in human size and tricker as well. There is a completely different knowledge there that I swore not to reveal and if I do...Well lets just say I'll really be dead. So I'm sorry I can't say much more to you two but you must trust me...During my stay there I was able to learn how to change myself without a potion or spell, but it will only work for a couple of years but long enough for me to help with the fight against Tom Riddle."
"How? Metamorphmagus are born not created or can be "taught" as many know."
She looked at Dumbledore and gave a small nod,
"But I'm not...They can change their appearance at will while I need to practice to make at least one disguise...I have limits unlike a real Metamorphmagus."
"I see...Well thank you for explaining a bit more and with this new information about you and what you can do I will finally agree to let you into the Order. Now we must think of a plan."
"Yes, but may you hand me what I've asked you to bring?"
Sirius said as Dumbledore reached into his sleeve to produce a file. He handed it to Sirius as both men took a glance at each other. Sirius opened up the file as his eyes softened as he whispers,
"So is it possible?"
"Yes, indiscretion though and I'm sure we can have someone file it in...If it does pass and gets finalized I congratulate you, the both of you."
"I'm sorry, not to be rude but what do you mean sir? What on earth are you two talking about?"
Both men had smiles on their faces while Serenity was confused like no tomorrow. Sirius handed her the papers as she looked at the top, seeing it was a adoption paperwork claim. She almost dropped them as her eyes moved back up to their faces as she tried to keep her tears in. A large smile appeared on her lips as she quickly jumped from her chair to give Sirius a hug while he gave out a grunt.
"Ugh! Easy there dear I'm still healing."
"I'm sorry Sirius! But this is...Thank you!"
"No...I should say thank you to you."
He hugged her tightly as she hugged him as they heard a slight cough from Dumbledore. Serenity looked at the elderly wizard as she walked over to him and gave a hug as well as he chuckled a bit. They soon talked about the paper work and how everything should be finalized in a couple of months and when they are she was officially be in the system that she is indeed from the Black family tree. Not only that but she will be adopted as Sirius' daughter instead of being his niece, making him her official parental guardian. For now Serenity could live with Sirius as long as no one knew.
"Before I forget I brought your things from Hogwarts here as well. They're in the kitchen."
"Thank you ve-...Wait...Do you mean everything?"
Dumbledore nodded his head as he gave a smile,
"Yes...Everything."
"Thank you sir."
"I'll have kreacher put those things in your room but back to the point...So are you really bringing the Order back then? For I know it was disband after Voldemort was gone but will you bring it back now?"
"Well about that...Since there have been no sightings of Tom, I would think that the order will not be needed. I know that I said you can join the Order Serenity but as you can see it's not truly established. It was disbanded a long time ago, but if you believe he is coming then I think…"
"What?
Sirius said almost impatiently as Serenity perked one eyebrow up to look at her Uncle. When he said The Order he suddenly turned on edge instead of his easy going self. Dumbledore's voice turned a bit serious as he replied cooly,
"That we should train her like one would be trained for the Order, even to the greater extent of that of an Auror if she is willing."
"Excuse me?"
Serenity looked at Dumbledore as she stood up again as she stared at the man,
"You won't bring the Order back because Voldemort isn't "present" at the moment? You need to form the Order now, while there is still time. But for now you're just gonna let someone train me while any minute death eaters or Voldemort could come and kill us all? Do you believe this Sirius?!"
Both men stayed silent as Serenity's blood started to boil. She didn't risk her life to the point of actual death, just to find out the Dumbledore not only disbanded the Order a long time ago but isn't putting it back together because there is no "real" threat.
"It's not that but if I do bring the Order back there must be a good reason. It was originally for the first war but if I form it agan that will make them question how I know all of this. If the ministry of magic known of your abilities and your accuracy I don't know what they'll do. Knowing Cornelius he will probably try to exploit you for his own gain, even though he's a good man he lets ambition cloud his judgements...You don't want them to know of your gift I assume."
Serenity slowly sat back down as she gave an extremely long sigh. She was still young and she realized she shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. She nodded her head as she looked at her hands and murmurs just enough for the men to hear.
"So...What now?"
"Return to Hogwarts."
"What?!"
This time it was Sirius who gave an outburst as Dumbledore glanced at the man from the side.
"We did not notify the teachers nor students that you passed away. We were to tell your friends later after the summer once everything was confirmed."
"But you want me to go back and do nothing?! I thought we already agreed I was going to be in the Order but you're just going to send me back at Hogwarts?"
"Yes you will go back but not just a student…"
The silence clung in the air as the young girl stared at the elderly man and Sirius as well. Sirius was the one who finally spoke in almost a whisper to ask,
"...You mean you want her as a spy?"
"Yes, especially since the triwizard tournament will happen this year. With her new found abilities it will make it easier for her to blend in and she won't go back as Miss Aragon but as a new alias."
"You can't expect her to do this alone? Likelihood you'll be so busy how can she even contact you?"
"Why by a partner of course… He will not only train her but help her watch over Harry. Don't worry Serenity he was in the Order as well."
"Well, who is he? When can I meet him?"
"I will need to speak to him first. Until then I will inform you but I need to go back to the school to meet with the other headmasters for the triwizard tournament."
Dumbledore slowly rose to his feet as Serenity escorted him out. As she did so, they spoke as she told him of her plan. He nodded in agreement as they exchanged a hug and he went on his way. She returned to see Sirius with a grim face as she says softly,
"What wrong?"
"...I don't want you to go to the school if danger is going to arise. You should stay with me, we can get the papers done and just live like a family."
"Sirius."
She walked over and sat next to him as she gently touched his hand but he kept looking at the wall of portraits. She glanced to see her family up there as a small smile creeped on her lips as she flickered her eyes back at him.
"Even if I stayed here we can't live like a family yet...We need to bring Harry home and in order to do that I need to go see him...I'm sure Aunt Lily & Uncle James wants to see their son safe, kind of how you want me safe."
"Serenity…"
"It's fine, I could use my cover as Alice, the one I had in America."
They sat a little longer just talking as Serenity explained her background story as just being known as Alice Black. It wasn't clever name pick but it was good enough since most Hogwarts students knew her as Serenity Alice Aragon, and that she couldn't be related to Sirius at the moment. As they spoke they thought a new identity would be better something that will help her more into the field. They continued to talk until it was almost noon as Serenity looked at Sirius,
"How about I do some shopping and you rest. When I come back I'll make us something to eat."
"That would be lovely."
After that she quickly got ready and changed before leaving her room. She heard a soft snore coming from Sirius' room as she creeped downstairs with Valiant. As she was walking down she saw the house elf of the Blacks, Kreacher.
"Need me to get you anything Kreacher?"
The old house elf muttered something in disdain, as he walked away from her. Her eyes softened knowing that there must be some other reason why this house elf is so bitter. She turned and left the house, placing her hood up but assumed no one would recognize her since she has never been in this side of London before. As she walked down the streets she went to a small vendor and selected a few things from this sweet muggle woman. Serenity payed using her left over money she got when she was in America, and converted it before she came back. She continued to shop around until she stopped at a little stall that an elderly muggle woman was selling some very fresh fruits and vegetables. The elderly muggle smiled as she said,
"Thank ye lass, what brings ye out here?"
"Just a bit of shopping that's all."
"Mighty fine day to do it as well lass. If you want to do more shopping I suggest going to Milda's Shop Emporium. She's mi granddaughter who has a lovely store: from grocery shopping to even a bookstore in the place. She gets all of her produce from the farmers themselves. What you see in mi little stand here is what she has there."
The kind woman muses as Serenity asks,
"Then why are you here?"
"I've worked here all my life and know almost every person on this street. If I leave I feel like I'll lose a bit of mi self. But every evening I close my little stall to go to my family, spend time with them, and get my produce for the next day."
"How about this coming friday I walk with you to your granddaughter's store? I could help carry somethings of yours while you show me around?"
"My word, that would be sucha kind gesture. You're such a nice young lass."
Serenity then said goodbye to the woman with a smile, carrying her groceries in a large brown bag. She didn't even realize how late she was out until she noticed the sky turning dark. She walked back to the Black family home as quickly as possible. She rushed into the house to see Sirius reading at the dining table, with his feet up. She giggles as she walks is, greeted by Valiant with licks and rubs and Sirius with his smile.
"Feet off the table, don't want it dirty."
"Oh goodness you sound like your mother."
"Don't make me throw something at you."
"Now you sound like your father."
They both laughed as Serenity started cooking in the kitchen while Sirius moved to the living room to read. Valiant sat next to Sirius while Serenity quietly cooked. She was preparing a shepherd's pie with a salad on the side. She continued to cook to the point that she placed the pie into the oven and was getting the salad ready. She quickly walked out of the kitchen to call for Valiant to feed him some raw beef she got but stopped as she stood in the hallway. She looked at the stairway on the wall to see the plaques of shrunken elf heads. She walked to the portrait room, she called the living room, and says to Sirius,
"Could you please remove those plaques?"
Sirius glanced up from reading his paper and tilted his head in confusion,
"Why do you say that?"
"It's wrong and quite horrible to see, especially for Kreacher."
"He's used to it."
"He may be used to it but that doesn't mean it hurts...Please Sirius?"
Sirius agreed and got to work and removing the plaques on the walls, while Serenity took Valiant to feed him and finish up her and Sirius' dinner. She got the dining table all set and ready for dinner and as she was placing food on the plates she got an extra plate for Kreacher. She placed on a good amount and slowly looked around the house to find Kreacher in one of the rooms in the second floor, just muttering to himself. She always felt a bit uncomfortable around him but still she came over and knocked at the door.
"Kreacher?"
"Mudbloods and Blood-traitors are to run this house...Shame...Nothing but ruin, if my old mistress were to see this…"
She felt so sorry for him as she slowly got on one knee while placing the food on the floor in front of him.
"Kreacher...You do not know me do you?...My father was Jonathan Black Aragon, and my mother was Amelia Aragon. I am Sirius & Regulus' niece...And I would like to say, please take care of me and I hope you accept me here."
Kreacher stared at her for a long moment before reaching out to take the plate of food and apparating out of the room with a simple nod of his head. She smiled to herself as she stood up and walked back down to set her and Sirius' plates on the table. She called for Sirius as she sat herself down. Sirius came and sat at the end of the table, next to her with a grin on his face,
"This looks amazing."
"Eat up, there's more in the oven."
Sirius ate as much as he could while talking to Serenity about his old adventures with the Marauders and a few with her father. Sirius ended up finishing his plate and the rest of the shepard's pie in the oven as well. He leaned against his chair with a lazy grin on his face and said,
"Ah that was the best meal I've ever had."
"Probably because it's your first descent meal in a long time. I'll clean the dishes."
"Would you like me to help?"
"No, just finish up reading your paper and I'll be there with some tea."
He nodded his head as he waved his hand for Valiant to follow him. It seems the two had bonded while she was shopping, which she was happy about. As she cleaned the dishes her mind somewhat wandered on what it would be like to be a spy. She tried to think of an identity as it suddenly hits her as she rushed out of the kitchen to Sirius.
"Sirius! Sirius!"
She ran in and quickly jumped onto the couch that was next to his seat. He looked at her startled as he asked,
"Good lord child, what's wrong?!"
"I can be your daughter!"
"Excuse me? I thought we already discu-"
"No I mean for my cover I'll be your daughter!"
Sirius was still confused as he quickly placed the newspaper aside as Valiant sat up tentatively staring at them.
"No one knows of me in the wizard world. I'm just another girl with a pureblood name...I figured out a way to not only help Harry and the others but still go under cover."
"How do you propose we do that?"
"...I go behind enemy lines."
