Alright, so I apologize for not posting this last night like I promised I would. Yesterday was extremely hectic for me and I lost track of sooo much time to the point where I didn't even get my homework done, let alone this chapter. So again, I apologize, but hey, better late than ever!
Again, WARNING: please remember that I wrote this roughly four years ago, when I was uneducated in the whole "proper writing and grammar" thing. I am fully aware that the sentence format and such are far from great, but I'm not as in touch with the characters as I used to be. Anything I would attempt to write or revise right now for this story would be nothing like the original chapters, so I'm just posting the last two or three chapters I dug out of the depths of my laptop.
CASSIE'S POV
It would be a lie to say that I wasn't pissed off. I had done practically everything to get Gary to ask me out, but he never did. It was like he was oblivious to girls no matter what. My eyes widened. What if he's gay? I glanced over at him from where I was cooling down with the other girls in the huge gym, and I almost laughed. Yeah right! No one who looks like that is gay. I drummed my fingers against my leg.
There was only one thing left on my list of things to do, and it was ask him out myself. It was the most idiotic, clichéd thing ever, but I couldn't give up. I mean, I wasn't going to go to the Winter Bash thing without a date, and I had to have rejected every other guy in this school by now.
The bell rang, and I rushed over to Gary once we got in the hallway. "Hey, Gary."
He looked over at me. "Hey, Cassie. What's up?"
"So, are you going to the Winter Bash?"
He shook his head. "Nah."
I almost stopped walking. "You're not? Why?"
"It's a long story."
"I have time."
He stopped and looked at me seriously. "Do you really care?"
"Sure. I'll help you out."
He sighed. "Okay, so there's this girl I like, but she's already going with someone else. What do I do?"
A small smile crept onto my face. "Why don't you go to the dance anyway? Y'know, to make her jealous?"
"Wouldn't I need to go with someone to make her jealous? I'm pretty sure everyone else already has a date and everything."
"I don't have one. You could go with me, if that's okay with you."
He stood and thought about it, and then smiled and nodded. "That's a great idea. Thanks, Cassie."
He walked back towards his locker, and I practically screamed with joy as I rushed back to my own.
I was smiling probably like a freak when Misty came up to me. "What's got you so spazzy?"
"I'm going to the Winter Bash with Gary!"
Her eyes widened.
"What?" I asked.
Misty shook her head and smiled. "Nothing. Some kid down the hallway was being weird. It freaked me out. But, yeah. That's great, Cassie! I got to go find Leaf. See you later!"
I waved as she walked away.
Gary only talks to three girls: Leaf, Misty, and me.
I glanced at Misty as she rushed down the hallway toward Leaf's open locker. Two of the girls Gary even associated with were both taken. A small smile crept onto my face. Which makes me lucky number three.

MISTY'S POV
"Leaf!" I practically screeched as I ran to our lockers.
She looked at me with confusion. "What's wrong with you?"
"Cassie and Gary are both going to the Winter Bash."
Leaf nodded. "Okay. A lot of people are."
I rolled my eyes and groaned. "No, as in, they're going together. As a couple."
Her eyes widened. "He asked…Cassie?"
"I don't know. Cassie came running down the hallway towards her locker with this huge creepy smile on her face and I asked her what was up and she was like, 'I'm going to the Winter Bash with Gary!'"
Leaf stayed silent.
"It doesn't mean anything," I reassured. "We don't know what's going on in that guy's head."
"I don't care," she stated firmly.
"Huh?"
"I'm going with Brandon. He's going with Cassie. So what?"
I was completely lost. "What's going on? I thought you liked him," I whispered.
She laughed. "Please. I can date who I want, and so can he. I better go before my mom freaks on me. See you later!"
I was left standing in the hallway like an idiot. "What?" I asked myself.
I went back to my locker and shoved all my stuff into my backpack. I slung it over my shoulder and went back up the hallway towards Ash's locker. Ash and Gary were talking, and I was growing irritated and worried that our plan would fail.
"Ash?"
Both of them turned to look at me.
"Yeah?"
"I need to talk to you." I glanced at Gary. "In private."
Gary elbowed Ash and wiggled his eyebrows mischievously, and I groaned. "Not like that, you perv. Actual talking."
He held up his hands in defense. "Whatever you say, Misty."
I stepped on his foot and stormed away, Ash in tow.
"That hurt!" he whined.
"Deal with it," I muttered as I walked to my car in the school parking lot.
"Misty, what's wrong?"
I tossed my backpack into my car and leaned on the side of it. "Our plan is falling apart."
"What plan?"
I mallet-whacked him up the side of the head. "Don't 'what plan' me. The Leaf and Gary plan."
"Geez, you sound mad."
"Leaf and Gary are messing up the entire plan! All I'm trying to do is make them happy, and I have volleyball and this dance committee and all this other gym crap and I can't take it."
"Relax. I'll help you."
I sighed. "I know. It's just that Leaf and Gary are both going to the dance with the wrong people. Leaf's going all bipolar on me, and Gary is even more confusing than our algebra teacher. They both like each other, but they're all excited to go to the dance with other people."
"Wait. Stop a second. Gary's going to the dance?"
"Yeah. He's going with Cassie. And Leaf's all like 'we can go with whoever we want' and I'm all confused and Cassie's all like 'I'm going with Gary.' I'm just so freaking confused!"
"Misty, you're stressing yourself out too much. You said like at least five times in that one sentence."
I took a deep breath. "Great. Now I'm becoming a ditz like all of my sisters."
Ash took me by my shoulders and started shaking me. "Snap out of it!"
"I'm fine!" I exclaimed.
He shook his head and smiled. "You're not gonna be able to sleep until the Winter Bash is over, are you?"
"Only if the plan works," I stated. "It's too much," I repeated for the tenth time at least.
"Then how about you and I go hang out and you can relax?"
I rolled my eyes at him and lightly kissed his cheek. "Nice try, Romeo. I've got a decorating committee meeting."
"But you've been ignoring me for forever!" he whined.
"I have not! I'll talk to you later, 'kay?" I suggested, starting towards the school.
"Fine."
I looked at him as he started to kick at the ground, and he made me feel bad. I sighed and walked back towards him. I pressed my lips against his, and then pulled away after a few seconds.
"Happy?"
He smiled brightly. "Very."
"Now, I gotta go. Gary's probably waiting for you, or he might've even left without you."
"He wouldn't do that to me. We're best friends."
"Then I'd start running."
"Huh?"
I pointed at Gary, who had started his grandfather's car. Ash groaned loudly and started running toward Gary, causing me to laugh. I walked back into the school for the meeting. Our plan had better work.

GARY'S POV
"What took you so long?" I asked Ash as he crawled into the passenger seat.
"Nothing. I didn't know you'd start the car without me."
"Hey, I'm not the one who was making out with his girlfriend." I glanced at Ash, whose face was turning bright red.
"I was not."
"Whatever, Ash."
"Misty said you're going to the Winter Bash."
"Yeah."
"With Cassie."
"Yeah."
"Why? I thought you were into Leaf."
"I am. Cassie's gonna help me get her."
"How?"
"I'm gonna make her jealous."
Honestly, I thought the plan would work perfectly if Cassie and I did everything right.
"That's stupid," Ash stated.
"No it's not! That's a great plan."
"If she's going with Brandon, why would she pay attention to you and Cassie? Doesn't that only work if she likes you back?"
My confident smile fell. "Crap, Ash. Why do you have to be right?"
"I'm telling you, ask her out."
"No. Our friendship would be ruined. We've been over this."
"Well, obviously not enough for you to actually ask her."
"What's got you all irritated?"
He sighed. "You're being stupid. Just ask her."
"No."
"Do it."
"Never."
"Do it."
"Shut up, Ash. Not happening. I can't just tell Cassie we're not going anymore, and Leaf is going with Brandon anyway."
"If you ask her, I'll give you ten bucks."
"I'm not taking your money or any other form of bribery. Just drop it."
"But, Gary…"
I took a deep breath. "If you ask me one more freaking time, I will throw you onto the highway."
Ash groaned. "Fine."
I sighed with relief. "Thank you."
"So, what's the plan?"
"What, me and Cassie's?"
"Yeah."
I shook my head. "I think I'm just gonna bag it. Tell her it probably won't work, but we can still go as friends if she wants."
"'Kay."
"So what did Misty want?" I asked.
"Y'know…stuff."
"What kind of stuff?"
"She wants help with the dance?"
I glanced at Ash. "Why are you asking me?"
Ash shrugged. "I'm an idiot?"
I snorted. "Yeah, okay. Whatever, Ash."
Alright, so there it is! There are only two more chapters left (I think). The next one will be up by next weekend.
Thanks for reading! Please review!
