Serenity was packing her stuff in a light duffle bag. She didn't need that much since it was only for two weeks as she gave out a soft groan when she saw Sirius scowling by the fireplace. She rolled her eyes as she said,
"Oh stop pouting, you already knew this was going to happen."
"Well I didn't think you were gonna push it nor the fact that he would actually accept… Now you can't even bring Valiant which really makes my blood boil."
Serenity rolled her eyes again as she turned her face to him,
"Oh come now Sirius, this is a good opportunity for me. You may not like him but he's the most suitable to teach me.
"Suitable? You need the best of the best! Not some old ba-"
"Sirius!"
She snapped at him, but felt horrible as she saw the hurt in his eyes. She quickly walked over to him and got on her knees, gently placing her hands over his as she smiled up at him.
"...I'm sorry I snapped at you...But no matter what, I am going because I want to make our family become complete."
His eyes softened as he looked into her green smiled as she glanced away to look at the old trunk that once belong to her parents. She slowly stood back up and walked over to it, picking up her sketchbook that she placed on top of it before walking back to him. She scooted the other armchair close to him so they would face each other.
"...I've never told anyone this but… I had a dream, not a vision, but a dream of us with Harry…"
She saw him look at her intensely as she opened up her sketchbook, flipping each page slowly.
"...I wake up to Christmas morning and walk down to see you and Harry in the kitchen. Both of you were trying to make breakfast without waking me up but made a horrible mess. Then we all started to cook, teasing each other, and burning a few pancakes...Then we all sat and ate before going to the Christmas tree to find presents from all of our friends and all of us opening our gifts… It was perfect."
Serenity flipped to the page as Sirius started to tear up a little as he saw what she drew. It was Harry, Sirius, and Serenity sitting on the ground with opened gifts around them and you could see the flour on their faces from the kitchen disaster. He saw him between both kids with his arms other them with all laughing as if he had said a joke. Harry was looking at Sirius while Serenity had her hands over her mouth giggling. It was a detailed black and white drawing but still he could see the colors in his mind as one tear came down his cheek.
He slowly reached out to take the sketchbook in his hands as he stared at the beautiful image. Serenity gently took one of his hands as she whispered,
"Now you know why I am doing all of this...I want to see this dream come true so that later on we can make these memories together..."
They sat in quietly with the fire flickering as she heard the soft sobs in Sirius' voice. A heartbroken man who has found a new reason for life, one to complete what he has always wanted, a family of his own. Especially when he lost Jonathan and James he felt like he had lost his family. Now he saw Serenity giving a new as he looks at her.
"...I understand but please...Be careful...I can't lose more people who I love."
She nods her head as he scooted his chair next to her and placed his arm over her shoulder, letting her rest her head on his own. They sat for a while until they fell asleep against each other until an hour later, Serenity woke up first. She slowly rose from her seat as she let Sirius sleep. She quietly packed her bag as she looked at Valiant, who sat next to her and whispered,
"Take care of him while I'm gone."
Valiant whined as Serenity quietly wrong a letter to Sirius saying she would return soon, and left it on the stand next to his chair. She quietly closed the room behind her with Valiant next to her as she walked down, with Kreacher bowing his head to her.
"Kreacher will assist the miss out."
"...Thank you Kreacher and while I'm gone...Please makes sure you eat your meals." She smiles as he mutters something under his breath. She walked to the front door as Valiant nuzzled her hand, rubbing his head against her leg as if to beg her to not go as she smiles,
"I'll be gone for a short time...I'll see you soon."
She got on her knees to hug Valiant around the neck and nodded her head to Kreacher as she got back on her feet and opened the door. Right outside stood the man she would spend the next two weeks as he gave her a low scowl,
"You're late."
Serenity stared at him as she felt her heart racing. His dark eyes that pierced through her soul, staring at her as cold as the arctic wind as she looked down the steps. She slowly walked down with her bag in her hand as he turned away from her, walking ahead. Her eyes stared at his back as they walked, knowing his silhouette perfectly from how long she stared. They arrived at a crosswalk where she stood next to him. She was in deep thought, thinking where they were going until she felt a cold hand over hers. She flinched as she looked to see his hand over hers before taking her bag.
"The light just changed...Keep up!"
She turned her head to see the light did change as they walked down the street together, trying to get through the busy crowd. They finally made it to this secluded area by an alley as he grabbed her arm to walk in strong strides to a dead end. They both looked back to see no one there as he looked down at her and said in a low voice.
"...You do not know where this place is so I suggest you hold on to me…"
She looked up at him to stare at his obsidian eyes as he brought his hand up for her to touch. She placed her hand over his as she felt the ground shifted from her feet. Air plunged into her body as if it were nothing as her vision blurred until she felt the ground back at her feet. She almost tripped but felt his strong arms around her as she heard his voice in her ear,
"Watch it you dunderhead."
"Sorry."
She muttered softly as she looked around. They were in the middle of nowhere, nothing but grass stretching out miles out with only one estate visible to her eyes. It's large architect beauty stood tall and proud yet had a sense of loneliness to it.
"...Where are we?"
Serenity turned to look up at Severus as he stood quietly looking at the estate, with a stare as if there was a broken man inside. He said in a low voice as the wind carried it to make it into a whisper.
"...The Prince...Manor."
Sirius' POV
As Sirius stood in the master bedroom, tossing out old rubbish and old family heirlooms out, he heard Buckbeak cawed out in frustration.
"I'm sorry my friend…I'll see too it that you'll get some food soon."
"No need."
He turned to see the mysterious woman come in with a large platter full of dead ferrets. She stopped in front of the beast and gave a low, graceful bow as he gave one in return. She set the plate infant of him while he gobbled it up.
"Sorry about the mess, Miss?"
"Morgana Emrys… But please just call me Morgana."
"Ah…I see."
She slowly reached out hesitantly to try to find the door again, but Valiant rushed to her side to help her get closer to the door by nudging her.
"Thank you Valiant, such a sweet pup you are."
Sirius gave a soft chuckle,
"He is no pup."
Morgana got down on one knee to be at eye level with Valiant and gently pet the beast's fur while he just wagged his tail.
"He may not be a puppy on the outside, but he has nothing but love on the inside. Warm like a puppy."
"Did you have a pet when you were younger?"
Sirius noticed a moment of sadness appear on the woman's face as she whispers,
"Once…But the same time I turned blind I lost him."
Sirius stared at her as a few moments passed. The hippogriff was already dozing off after his meal, laying on a nest he made from scraps and blankets on the floor. The woman turned her blind gaze to Sirius and smiled,
"You probably have a few questions for me…How about we eat dinner downstairs and I can answer everything you want to know."
She rose to her feet while Valiant stayed close by her side to guide her while Sirius closed the door to let the beast rest. He walked behind the woman as he commented,
"How did you even find him?"
"Well I heard from Albus that the creature was still wandering around Hogwarts so I just placed a few dead ferrets here and there till he came to me…It was harder to shrink him down and catch him though. Luckily he's safe and no one will be able to find you either."
"I see…"
They made it to the kitchen and as he reached out to get something to eat the woman took her wand out.
"Allow me."
She took out her wand from the back of her boot as she gave a small flick and muttered something softly under her breath. Soon dishes flew around around and ingredients getting prepped. The woman smiled as she says,
"Hmmm…Would you like some tea while we wait?"
"No thank you. Here, let me help you."
He gently took her hand to escort her to the table. He let her sit first before taking a seat, noticing Valiant now laying down comfortably.
"Thank you for that…Now I assume you have some questions for me?"
"Yes. You mentioned you got your scars and lost your sight from a battle?"
The sound of a knife chopping the vegetables stopped for a moment behind them before it turned back to its duty.
"Why yes I did."
"What happened? If I may be bold to ask."
The woman turned to look at him, making him feel as if she could actually see him. Soon a cup of tea levitated in front of her as she gently placed her hands around the mug, taking a small sip.
"…Where do I even begin…It all started back to my parents."
That when she started to tell her story. A young woman who looked to be in her early twenties, already lost her parents, her youth all from death eaters and fate.
"-I was raised alone yet I ended up making my own little family. We may have been a bit broken but no matter what…We were family. Then the death eaters came again, this time with the thought of the dark one rising."
Sirius didn't even noticed that when she told her story it was somewhat vague. He only assumed it was because she didn't want to remember everything. As she told her story, she prepared a simple meal of beef and potato stew with some nice warm bread.
" So you never knew your parents?"
"No…Only stories."
"Hm, you're very much like Serenity. She lost her parents when she was born from Voldemort."
"Really? What were her parents like?"
"Ah well…That's a long story to tell."
Morgana gave a musical little giggle as she smiled at him.
"I think we have time."
Sirius thought for a moment before setting his spoon down before replying,
"Her father, Jonathan, was my half brother. I never knew who he was until later on when I was kicked out of this very house. He wasn't what I expect."
"What did you expect?"
"Well…I expected him to resent me, hate the Black family. Honestly even I hate my own family, but him? He was never acknowledged by our father. Yet, when I met him, he was kind, wise beyond his years, yet still knew when to make people smile. The same trait that Amelia had as well."
"I'm assuming you're talking about Serenity's mother?"
"Yes…sweet little Amelia."
"Sounds like you loved them very much."
He told her stories of back when he was younger, the good days when he was in Hogwarts. It because quiet after he softly mentioned how much his life had changed when Lily and James were murdered when they were only twenty one. Sirius glanced at the woman to see her take another spoonful of stew. He took his time to gather his thoughts as he resumed back to eating. He kept a watchful eye on the woman as he ate. She had wavy raven hair that framed her pale face. Her skin was like porcelain, lighter than Serenity's fair skin. The woman stopped eating and sat up straight, appearing as if she was looking at him.
"…No need to stare. If you have another question you can just ask."
He was a bit startled by the remark as he heard her giggle softly,
"You haven't moved for the past few minutes so I only assumed you were staring."
"Oh um…Sorry.
"Its fine. Please just ask."
He shifted uncomfortable before noticing Valiant sitting up next to him, placing his head on Sirius' lap. He gently pet the creature's head as he finally says,
"Alright…How did you meet Dumbledore and how did you get mixed into all of this?"
"Well. Wasn't expecting you to ask that so quickly but I guess its time…I met Dumbledore when I just turned of age for my acceptance letter for any magical school. It was then I showed Dumbledore my extreme acute gift of see the future by using tools such as stones or cards to figure it out…Like a puzzle in a way."
"That still doesn't explain how you got mixed into all of this."
"…Well the day I told Dumbledore of one of my predictions got him a bit curious…I then told him to be careful of a shadow after a lightning bolt that held a stone of youth…That was almost seven years ago. When it finally happened, Dumbledore looked for me and that's when I got 'mixed' into all of this."
He looked at her curiously as he asked,
"Looked for you? You weren't at Hogwarts?"
"No…I had to refuse my acceptance to Hogwarts."
Sirius then coughed a bit on his stew before drinking some water to help wash it down. He heard her chuckle as she continued on.
"It's not that I didn't want to go its just…I didn't have the money to pay for anything…I couldn't even get my own wand. Luckily Dumbledore agreed to pay for it. After taking a glimpse at Diagon Alley and seeing the wizard world, I knew I wanted to learn more. I wanted to discover my magic, so I studied by myself. I got books whenever I had money and studied alone."
"Must have been difficult."
"It was… I used my keen ability of sight to do fortune readings for muggles. You would be surprised how much a muggle would pay for a silly girl to read their fortune on some cards or with some tea leaves."
After that, they moved on to a lighter subject from recent news to silly stories of what they've done in the past. Morgana flicked her wand to make clean their plates away, cleaning the kitchen. Sirius noticed a bowl float out of the kitchen,
"Are you sending food up for Buckbeak?"
"No…I'm leaving it out for your house elf."
"You don't need to do such thing. He doesn't deserve it."
She shook her head at him,
"Everyone deserves a piece of warm emotions. From compassion to love, for without such things we would be living in a very cold world."
Sirius leaned leaned back on his seat and looked at her thoughtfully, a bit speechless.
"So you believe death eaters and Voldemort deserve kindness?"
"Hm, for some of those death eaters they only did what they did to protect the ones they love…As for the others, you know what they say."
"What?"
She tilts her head as he saw almost a sarcasm smile upon her lips as she replied,
"Kill them with kindness…Or just kill them."
