Severus left her mind and appeared back into reality in the low lit room, feeling the sweat on his brow as he stared down at her. Her frail form sleeping more peacefully than before, no longer shaking. A small strand of hair covered her face, using his fingers, he slowly shifted it away and tucking it behind her ear. Severus felt something stir inside of him as he quickly turned away from the sleeping body and out of her room, escaping into his own domain. He enter inside as the room was almost pitch black with all the curtains closed from his windows and no candles lit. He flicked his hand to make the fireplace lit up the room while he strode to the couch in front of it. He sat down with his legs apart as he leant forward resting on his forearms, his hands clenched together before shifting them up to run his fingers through his hair.

"Death huh…"

He spoke to himself as his obsidian eyes looked up at the flames to see them flicker back and forth. His mind wandered back to the many mirrors projecting a new path and way she could see as he started to wonder how someone so young could coupe with such pain. Then he realized if he were to ever try to attempt to get the truth out of her it would not be through her mind because it was like a blockade with her seer mind. He needed to figure out a new plan as he kicked off his shoes and leaned back against the couch. He realized it was going to be a difficult time trying to break this girl, but he was not one to ever give up.

Serenity's POV

She woke up at the crack of dawn, seeing the tiny bit of light break through the curtains and onto her bed. Serenity rose out of the bed to quickly rush into the bathroom for a quick shower and get herself ready for a new day. She wore a simple black tank top with some jeans and sneakers, pulling her hair up in a high ponytail. The young girl took a quick glance out her door to see the professor was still asleep as his door was still closed and seemed as if there was no light inside. She crept along the hallways try to remember how to get to the kitchen and proceeded to wander about for a good half an hour til she found it. She opened the cabinets as well as the fridge to find it completely stocked with food.

Seems like the Potion Master does know how to treat a guest…

She chuckled to herself as she quickly took out a few ingredients and got cooking. She assumed the Potion master would not be up til later as she didn't hear him stir as she passed his door. She hummed to herself as she walked around the kitchen, cooking up two plates of eggs benedict with a small cup of fruit. She touched a mug and suddenly flashed a small image in her mind and froze.

"-ffee or tea sir?"

"Coffee, and don't you dare place in anything sweet you twit"

The vision cut off as she chuckled to herself and rolled her eyes. She glanced through the cupboards to find a small drip coffee device. She found a small ceramic pot filled with coffee beans and quickly grind them up before placing them in the device and pouring water in, letting the drip go through, enough for about four servings it seemed. As she prepped the coffee she made the breakfast look nice and added the finishing touches as she placed her plate on the counter for her to eat in a bit while taking out a vintage breakfast tray to place the professor's breakfast.

tick tick

Serenity looked to see an owl at the window, walking around the kitchen to open the window to see it was a delivery own with a couple of things on it's leg. She pulled the letters and mail off of it and gave it a small treat before sending it off. She glanced to see it was mainly two copy newspapers of the Daily Prophet and a very small letter for the Professor. She placed them both on the tray and poured the finished coffee next to the breakfast plate. She quickly picked up the finished tray and made her way back to the hallway where her room and the professors were and placed it gently in front of his door. She leaned in to try to hear anything and heard a small shuffle of feet. She quickly stood back up to run back to the kitchen to eat her breakfast.

Serenity sat on one of the tall chairs next to the counter to eat while reading a copy of the Daily Prophet. She saw something interesting of an upcoming Quidditch World Cup final would be coming soon. She saw the two teams and tilted her head, somewhat curious on the outcome but doesn't press too much, wanting to hear it from Ron and Harry later on. She took her cup of coffee, which she placed in sugar and cream and took a small sip, then sighed as she placed it down. She could never really get used to coffee as she leaned back on her seat and finished up reading the paper.

"It wasn't hot enough you dunderhead."

Serenity looked up from her paper and turned her head to see the Professor, levitating the tray to the sink.

"Excuse me?"

"The coffee wasn't hot enough...Are you deaf Aragon?"

"No I just prefer acting stupid to make you feel like you have some sort of self worth."

She quickly shuts her mouth and realized what she had just said and glanced up at the professor, now fuming.

"...You obnoxious little twit."

"I know you are but what am I?"

"Enough of these childish games"

"Then stop acting like a child!"

They both looked at each other as she was sure he was going to snap at her until suddenly he smirked at her and said,

"Well Aragon...There just might be hope for you yet."

"And what does that mean sir?"

"That you actually have somewhat of a brain…"

The young witch rolled her eyes as she takes her dishes to the sink before washing them by hand.

"Well?"

The professor glances at her,

"What?"

"You're going to help right?"

"Why on earth would I clean the dishes? There is a reason why we have magic."

"Oh goodness, you have two perfectly good hands right? Plus, I cooked so you could at least help clean."

She sees him scowl for a moment before he unbuttoned his cuffs and rolled up his sleeves, coming up next to her to help her clean. She could scrub the dishes and handed them to him to rinse and place on the dry rack next to the sink. Their arms were right against each other but they avoided their hands from touching. She tried not to look at him, trying to focus only on cleaning til they were done in just a few minutes.

"I assume you are prepared for today?"

Serenity finally glanced up at the professor as she gave a coy smile,

"Prepared for what?"

She said in a sarcastic tone before he scowled at her,

"Don't you dare try to sass me child..Lets go."

They walked back to the cellar where the training room was hidden and entered back inside. He wisped his hand in the air, making the book that was next to her bed appear in his hand.

"I have complete and utter faith that you didn't succeed on understanding this book…"

Serenity kept her cool as she bowed her head,

"Well...I managed, Sir."

"Very well…Let us begin."

The Professor tested her not only on the book but if she had memorized some of the ancient incantations in the book. She stumbled a few times, making him glare at her before she picked up her little fumbles and corrected herself. Some of the incantation of the Old Religion were quite strange but many control of the elements as she created the main four: earth, fire, wind, and water.

She created the gust of wind in the room, made a small fire appear in her hand, stopped a few molecules in the air to produce water float in her hand, and then make a plant grow from a little seed in a pot that the professor had brought into the room. Then he tested her on her abilities on creating some of the potions in the book. Some were just simple herbal remedies for everyday use such as a cold or a headache, but others were old versions of how to make a love potion and transforming one's appearance to look like another. These old versions of the potions took much longer to make as well as more effort as some of the ingredients have different modern names that she had to guess. As she finished up the potions and placed them on the table for inspections. Though it took her almost five hours to create seven different potions, the professor took a glance at them and spoke to her without looking up,

"Go up and eat… You need your strength for your next lesson."

She felt her shoulders slump as she finally relaxed. She curtsied at the professor before slowly walking back up and out of the training room, making her way back to the kitchen. She saw a wall clock to see it was already one o'clock. She felt her stomach growl as she decided to make a simple salad with cherry tomatoes with a light dressing for herself. She stopped to realized that Snape hadn't eaten lunch either. She had noticed at Hogwarts that even when she was there with her friends and glanced at Snape, he was never there, always working in his potion class. She stared down at her little bowl and thought what would the strange potion master would like to eat. She finally got it as she made some tomato soup and some toasted bread on the side. The training room was quite cold and he was sitting there the whole time reading or watching her make the potions. She quickly made his lunch and placed it on a tray before taking out her wand, about to levitate it down until she heard a voice,

"I'm quite capable of making my own meals, Miss Aragon."

She glanced up to see him standing by the door to the wine cellar as she then levitated the tray onto the small table near the window.

"Well you seemed preoccupied so I just made something simple...I hope you approve."

He smirked at her before walking over to the table to pick up the spoon and dab it into the soup, tasting it. He kept a straight face and replied,

"...It's...adequate…"

She turned a bit to hide a small smile before taking her lunch and about to walk out of the kitchen to her room before she heard him hiss,

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Um...To my room?"

"No, you're eating here because right after we have more training to do."

She turned around and walked over to the table as she placed her lunch down. She gave a soft little huff as she moved his bowl and side dish down as well before shifting the tray onto the little counter top away from them. She waved her hand at the seat across from her and gave a little smile,

"Hope you don't mind if I eat with you then?"

He didn't reply and just sat down to eat. She gave a curt nod of her head before sitting down to eat her salad, glancing out to see how beautiful it looked outside as she ate. They ate their lunch in silence until she suddenly asked,

"If you don't mind me asking Sir, what are your plans for this weekend?"

"...Training you...Why would you ask such a stupid question."

"Well it seems like the weather will be nice all week and since we might be partners you would like to know what I'm like outside of a serious setting. Maybe go out and possible get more herbs for potions for it seems we will run out if you continue to make me create more potions throughout this week."

"Well that depends if you'll be here that long."

She stopped eating and finally looked at him in the eyes and replied in a soft manner,

"Do you despise me that much to want to kick me out?"

"...No...I want to get rid of you because I don't want to spend my time with an ignorant child who believes that she already knows everything with the world."

" You can't truly say that, that's not fair! You barely even know me!"

"I know enough...And this is one thing you will learn which is, life is not fair…"

"Oh, yes it is, but you were the one who made the wrong decisions!"

She slammed her hands on to table before quickly taking her empty little bowl and quickly flicking her wand and whispers a soft spell to clean up her dish. She then rushed back into the training room, leaving the potion master in the kitchen alone.

Serenity felt her blood boil for a moment as she stomped down and the thought popped up in her head that this is what he wants, he wants to get a reaction out of her to show she wasn't ready. Soon a little smile appear on her face.

So you want to play dirty? Fine then.

She went down to see a piece of paper next to her potions, a critique of them. She read through and saw that he did put some thought into them all. One wasn't very good, which was her remedy to relieve a simple cough because of the wrong herb she placed. The others turned out decent enough apparently. Serenity couldn't help but smile as she picked up the "love" potion, or more well known as sheer infatuation. Such a silly little potion that many would want to create, yet would never truly be enough for real love.

The young girl placed it back down while glancing around the training room, walking over to the matts and takes out her wand. She slowly takes a few steps and counts in her head,

One...Two...Three

Quickly turns around point her wand as if ready to strike, one foot slightly forward while her other hand raised behind her.

"...Horrible form"

She takes a look to see Snape sneering at her as she tilts her head, questioning.

"How is this horrible form?"

He walks over to her and does a light tap against her shoulder, making her wobble to the side.

"Hey!"

"You see? When you place your foot forward, you need to slightly bend it to be more stable you fool."

"Like this?"

She stepped into form with her foot out a bit more as she heard the click of his tongue of disapproval.

"Now you look more like a fool."

He pushes her again as she stumbles again,

"Could you please show me then?"

He took off his heavy black cloak and tosses it again a chair. He had his wand at hand as he stood next to her in an almost fencer like stance. She tries to mimic him as she had her knee bent a bit to be more stable in her front.

"Don't lose your strength in your back leg you twit."

He suddenly touches her waist with one hand and the other on her hand, standing behind her. He pulled her in a bit, making her stand closer against his chest, making her adjust her stance. She tried not to look back at him as she looked down at her feet. He steadied her hand, having their hands touch each other while he points straight ahead. She didn't know why but she held her breath, afraid he would heard her heart beat a bit faster.

"This isn't going to help, for the strength is all in my back leg, making it harder to approach forward, isn't it?"

"Not if you learn to strike first."

"How very aggressive of you."

"You think you can win a battle by staying put?"

"To divert and distract is a more proper way to study one's opponent...So you can learn a bit more of their weaknesses and strengths for future battles."

"You fool, if it was a single fight with a stranger, doing such thing won't help."

She quickly moves away from his grasp and turns with her wand pointed at him.

"Oh really? Because i remember the other day I was able to disarm you...Finding your weakness."

"...Enough."

She stared at him before bowing her head and walking to the other side of the dueling mat.

"Lets see who's tactic is better then. Since I'm pretty sure you don't have a chessboard here, I guess we'll find out from sheer combat."

"...Are you naturally this passive aggressive or is this something you've learned when you were dead?"

"Usually I'm not but I guess you have a natural talent to get a rise out of people."

He scoffed before walking over to the other side of the mat, turning back to her before getting into position.

"I guess ladies first then."

"One?"

"Two."

They both stared at one another, emerald against obsidians. Time almost felt like it went still as they stared into each other's souls. A young girl full of secrets and a man with scars laced in lies within him. That's when both of them quickly yelled out,

"Three!"
