Yeah, I know it's late, but enjoy!
Months Later…
Kennedy stared at the diamond in her small hands. It had been a while since her new friend, Rack had given it to her. Since then she got a weird vibe from it. Like he didn't pay anything at all for it, or it was just a cheap fake. "Oh, silly!" Kennedy said to herself. "Of course it's real. How could a diamond this big be fake? It's so big, it's the size of my hand!" But then there was the amount of money the diamond was worth. It could be thousands, millions, billions, or even zillions! And Rack looked pretty rich, but not wealthy rich. Sure, he could have millions in his pocket, but not zillions. He might live in a four story house, but not a mansion. Kennedy had so many thoughts racing through her head that it hurt to just think. She then was interrupted by a knock on her door. "Hey, Kennedy! Dinner's ready in five minutes!" Lloyd's voice came through the door. "Ok, I'll be there in a sec." Kennedy stared at the diamond for a few more seconds. Then the thoughts came back. But she quickly brushed them aside and got ready for dinner.
As Kennedy sat down at the table, Lloyd had a look of concern on his face. "You alright, Kennedy? You look a bit uneasy." She looked up at him and smiled. "I'm fine, Lloyd. Just a little tired."
As Zane came out of the kitchen with a big bowl of spaghetti in his hands, he got funny looks from everyone. "Dinner is served!" He said as he placed the bowl in the middle of the table. The room fell silent for mere seconds before everyone in the room, except for Kennedy, burst out laughing and pointing. "Zane! You're wearing that apron again?! We all thought you threw it away!" Kai said between laughs. "If you're gonna keep it, at least ti-dye it blue! Blue is a way better color than pink!" Jay then realized what he said then covered his mouth. All eyes fell on Kennedy. She scoffed and crossed her arms. "Well, I think the color suits him better than it does me." Cole started snickering. "You know, she's got a point. I remember when Lloyd ruined his laundry and he had to wear pink for the whole day!" Cole laughed so hard he was banging his fist on the table which caused his plate of spaghetti to spill on his lap. "Aw, What?! You have got to be kidding me! These were just washed!" Beside him, Kai laughed his head off. "You think this is funny? How about this?" Cole grabbed a handful of spaghetti from his lap and plopped it onto Kai's pants. "Are you serious?! And these are my favorite pair too!" He grabbed his glass of lemonade and splashed it on Cole's face. "OW! MY EYES! THE LEMONY REFREASHING GOODNESS BURNS!" Cole screamed and rubbed his now red eyes. Everyone laughed again with Zane and Kennedy, just staring in confusion. "Payback for ruining my favorite-AAAHHHH!" In seconds the entire bowl of spaghetti went from the table to Kai's head. "I love doing that!" Sensei Wu exclaimed and then went back to his seat at the table. Everyone started throwing food at each other as Zane took the apron off, threw it across the room and ran out the kitchen. Kennedy stared after him for a minute then finally got up and ran after him.
"Zane, are you okay? Open the door, please?" Kennedy said as she knocked on the door. Zane opened it only a crack. He looked like he shed a few tears. "I am fine, Kennedy." "Can I come in?" He nodded and opened the door fully. Kennedy walked in and sat on his bed. Zane sighed and sat beside her. "I'm sure they didn't mean what they said Zane." He put his head in his hands. "Why would they? This happens every time I put on that apron! Maybe Kai was right. I should have thrown it away." "Don't listen to what they say to do, Zane. Especially Kai. You don't have to throw it away." Zane pulled his head from his hands and looked at Kennedy. "But it's…pink!" She put her hand on his shoulder. "That's still no reason to feel so silly about it. Back where I live, there are tons of men that wear pink. They even think it's a manly color! And my brother bought a pink pair of socks for no apparent reason." A/N: It's true; he has them and still wears them! Zane laughed and fell silent for a minute. His face then turned a bright shade of red. "Do you really think the color suits me?" Kennedy smiled. "Of course! Better than me." He went silent again. "Am I…weird to you?" Kennedy raised her brow. "Everyone's weird in their own way, Zane. They just don't realize it. Why?" He stood up. "What you are about to see is a bit disturbing. So pleases don't scream." As he said that, Zane lifted up his shirt and opened a door in his chest. Kennedy made a small squeak then covered her mouth and jumped behind the bed. "That's right!" Kennedy thought. "Episode 7! I forgot he was a robot!" Zane closed his chest and looked down to the floor. He had shed a few more tears. Kennedy got out from behind the bed. "Zane, I am so sorry! I didn't know!" She then hugged him. Now the tears really came and Zane hugged her back, silently sobbing onto her. Little did they know that the others were watching through the crack of the door, immediately feeling ashamed of themselves.
The next day was Christmas Eve and everyone was in a very chipper mood. They all gathered around the table and sat down, except for Kai. He might be sleeping in again. Kennedy came out with stacks of pancakes shaped like little Christmas trees. She decided to take Zane's place for the day to make him feel better. "Wow Kennedy! How did you get these pancakes to look like trees?" Lloyd gapped. She smiled as she sat down beside him. "I don't really know how I managed get them like that. It took me over 30 minutes to cut them. I could barely make them round!" Everyone started laughing. All of the sudden, Kai came running in. Jay smirked and said, "Well look who's finally-?" But Kai ran passed the table and out the door to the deck. "Awake…" A/N: You could think of as the prequel for my newest story, 'The Race for Christmas Gifts'
After breakfast, everyone went shopping. It turns out that they all forgot to get Christmas gifts at the last minute. Kennedy looked at her list of gifts to buy. She had gotten all the gifts except for one. The last thing on the list was a new fancy dress Nya saw at the mall. Kennedy looked off into the distance. It was very, VERY long trip from where she was to the mall. At least on foot, that is. Kennedy sighed and started walking.
After a few minutes of walking, Kennedy could hear the faint sound of a small engine. She looked around. There were no cars out, just people walking back and forth. The sound got louder and louder until she felt the engine was right behind her. Kennedy turned around and there he was. "Hello Kennedy." "Hi Rack!" Rack sat on an orange lambretta scooter with red flames painted on it. He wore the usual but with an orange helmet and sunglasses. "Where are you going?" "To the mall. I have to pick up a gift for a friend." Rack looked ahead of them. "That looks like a long walk. I could give you a ride if you'd like." "Sure, Rack!" Kennedy got on behind him and put on the extra helmet that sat in the basket behind her. Rack felt her arms rap around his chest and he blushed a dark shade of red. "Get yourself together, Rackson!" He thought to himself. "Do not think such naughty thoughts about Kennedy! She will be yours when the time comes." "Ready to go?" Rack said. She nodded. "Ready!" And then they sped off. In the wind, Rack's sent was being blown onto Kennedy. He smelled like cologne. And not the cheap ones that can give people allergies. But the very expensive kind that always attract girls. And it took a strong effect on Kennedy! She felt like she was being slowing attracted to Rack. She lied her head down on his back which caused him to blush even more.
After a twenty minute drive, they had finally reached Ninjago City Mall. Kennedy got off the scooter and went inside with Rack following close behind.
Rack grumbled something under his breath. Kennedy turned to him with a raised eyebrow. "What is it Rack?" He turned to her and gave a small smile. "It's nothing Kennedy. It's just…" Rack frowned again. "…I don't like the stares we are getting." Kennedy looked around. A group of girls were only taking glances at them and whispering about something. A man walked by and stared at them with an amused face. And a kid, about Rack's age, stared at her with longing eyes. Then he noticed Rack clutching her arm tightly. He scowled at him and went back to reading a comic book. Rack silently hissed at him.
After five minutes of walking, Kennedy finally found the store she was looking for, 'The Pulse'. Rack said he'd wait outside the store for her. And as she disappeared into the store, Rack saw the boy from earlier look up from his comic book. "Wait," He thought. "Was he following us?" Rack watched as the boy got up and head straight for the store. He was about to go through the door when Rack caught him by the back of his shirt. He dragged him to the nearby restroom. No matter how much the boy kicked and flailed, he couldn't escape the vice-like grip the young vampire held. When they got inside the biggest stall, Rack let the boy go. "Dude, what's your problem?!" he yelled at him. Luckily there were no other people in the restroom so they could yell all they want. "You! You are my problem! Why were you staring at her like that?!" "I wasn't-oh her! Right, sorry bro! I didn't know you were so protective of your pretty little sister." At this, Rack's eyes turned to slits. "SHE IS NOT MY SISTER AND YOU STAY AWAY FROM HER!" "…Yep, you're more protective than I expected." Rack has had enough of this nonsense. He pushed the boy up against the wall with so much force, it was enough to knock some fear into him. "I have had enough of you with your childish antics." He then smirked and flashed his fangs. "Let's play a game, shall we?" The boy shook in fear. He was much too afraid to say another word. "We could call it, 'Cat and Mouse'.
Rack opened the stall and washed his hands before leaving the restroom. "That kid's blood was so distasteful! I think some of it is going to live in my mouth and stay there." He said to himself. He saw a water fountain and quickly got a drink before returning back to the store.
Rack arrived just before Kennedy stepped out with a purple paper bag. "Hello Kennedy, have you found what you were looking for?" She stared at him with an upset look. "Yeah, I found it….and it was two hundred dollars! For one little dress!"
After Rack finally calmed Kennedy down, he drove her back to the bounty where everyone else was waiting. Before she got off the scooter, he slipped something in her satchel. Kennedy hugged Rack and said goodbye before kissing his cheek, which confused her but brushed it off. Rack widened his eyes and turned all sorts of shades of red. Kennedy giggled and hugged him again. She then went inside. Rack only thought one thing, "The Attraction Spell I put on my cologne actually work!"
When Kennedy got inside, she was greeted by many sets of eyes. "Well, hello to you all too." She said with sarcasm. Jay raised a brow. "It took you that long to get gifts?" she smiled. "It was a long walk to the mall. But luckily for me, a new friend I just met a few months ago offered me a ride to and back. I found what I needed and waited in line for thirty minutes…finally my turn came and I had to pay two hundred dollars on one small gift…so it overall was a great day." Lloyd looked suspicious. "Who's your friend Kennedy?" "His name is Rack. Oh the gentlemen he is! He saved me from a bunch of robbers the day we met. He was so brave yet so scared for me at the same time. Today, he drove me to the mall and back here on his really cool new lambretta scooter. It was so awesome!" "What does he look like?" "For some reason he's very pale, he has red hair with spikes kind of like Kai's but smaller, he wears really creepy blood red contacts, an orange hoodie, jeans and red J's. Oh and he looks like he has fangs in his teeth-why are you asking all these questions Lloyd?" Lloyd looks around nervously. "Um, no reason." "Lloyd, don't think I'm cheating on you because I'm not, okay?" Lloyd sighed. "Okay."
The Next Day…
Christmas Morning…
Everyone passed out there gifts and was having a fun time. "Oh my gosh! The dress I wanted! Thank you so much Kennedy!" Nya gushed. Kennedy smiled. "I'm glad you like it Nya. THAT'S the gift I had to pay two hundred dollars for." "Really? It doesn't look expensive."
"Wow Kai! The lasted issue of Captain Fantastic! How did you get this?" Kai put on a grimace. "It was the last copy at Doomsday Comics and this had already beaten me to it. I had to pay him four hundred dollar to get it!" "Looks like you went thought a lot more trouble than us." "Yeah."
Kennedy went to her room and shuffled through he satchel. Her eyes hit something that wasn't there before. She pulled it out and saw that it was a wrapped present. There was a note taped to it. Kennedy took it off and read it.
Dear Kennedy,
I didn't know what to get you this time but I hope you like this. Now that I know everything in it, I don't need it anymore. And sense you seem interested in these kinds of things, I thought of you.
Merry Christmas,
Rack
Kennedy tore the wrapping paper and pulled out an old worn out book. On the top of the cover, it said, 'My Enchantments written by Rack. "Oh my gosh!" Kennedy exclaimed. "Rack writes spells?! ….Let's see what juicy stuff he wrote."
I'm sorry if it has a lot of errors. I was up all night doing this because my laptop randomly shut down on me and all my work was delete. But anyway, Review!
