Yay! It's my birthday! Thanks to all over you who wished me a happy birthday. Here is my present to you! Chappie 23!
Kennedy was walking around the bounty looking not so very colorful or happy. It was like a dark spirit had possessed the usually chipper girl and now she's roaming around like a lost ghost. It worried Lloyd a lot to see the love of his life so full of…darkness.
But now that it was Kennedy's 13th birthday, Lloyd was sure this was going to bring the light back into her soul. He had everyone set up a surprise party in the game room. Everything was decorated in pink. Balloon, ribbons, the cake, party hats, Zane (yes, Zane volunteered to dress in pink), everything was smothered in pink. Even Sensei Wu took care to die his beard the color. Lloyd laughed and said he didn't have to, but Sensei insisted.
Kennedy didn't seem to know about her special day of birth (even though she mentioned it a few weeks ago), but she didn't seem to care. She just kept on acting like a ghost and haunting the hall ways.
At 3:28, Kennedy will turn 13. Lloyd chose that time to surprise her. He'll find her and lead her to the game room at 3:27. He had it all planned out. This was surely going to make Kennedy happy. Lloyd knew it would. He deeply loved her and this was the only option he had.
At 3:27, Lloyd made his move. He found Kennedy looking at a wall, seeming to be interested in only that. He put his hand on her shoulder. "Kennedy, I want to show you something." He said, grinning stupidly. He couldn't do his thing while keeping a straight face. He was too excited. Kennedy said nothing and followed Lloyd to the game room.
As the two neared the entrance to the game room, the time was now 3:28. Lloyd opened the door. The lights turned on and everyone jumped out of there hiding places and yelled, "SURPRISE!" Kennedy didn't even flinch. She just stared at them and said, "You guys didn't have to do this." Lloyd snorted. "Of course we did. It's your birthday!" Kennedy still didn't seem too chipper.
The party went on with an eerie aura. Kennedy kept quiet for the majority of the party. Except for when Jay kept trying to strike up conversation with her. She replied to a few of his sentences. Then went back to being silent.
Then it was time to have some cake. Kennedy said she wasn't hungry and pushed away her slice. Cole happily gobbled up the piece of cake.
Music started playing and everyone started dancing except for Kennedy who sat on the couch. Sensei Wu was high on tea and was running all over the place. Cole-also high on cake-ran with him. Zane was doing the robot and killin' it. Nya was dancing with Kai and Jay sat, passed out, against the wall with a lamp shade over his head.
Lloyd decided to join Kennedy on the couch. "How's the party?" he asked. Kennedy smiled for the first time in a while. "It's great. Thanks Lloyd." Something told him she still wasn't perking up.
As the party ended sadly, everyone started cleaning the game room. Both Cole and Sensei had thrown up from an hour of sugary hyperactiveness and now the place smelled horrible. This was definitely not what Lloyd had planned. Kennedy's 13th birthday was a total failure. Well not for everyone else. At least they were having fun when the music started.
A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. Lloyd went to go get it, but Kennedy had already beaten him to it. And he couldn't believe what he saw.
There was a tall boy of thirteen or fourteen at the door. He was covered from head to toe in an orange hoodie, blue jeans, red converse, and sunglass. His hood was up but he saw a tuft of red hair poking out. Wasn't he hot? Well, the season has changed to Fall and it was staring to get colder. Lloyd converted his attention to Kennedy. She looked…happy. She had a big fat grin on her face as she talked with the mysterious boy. Realization suddenly smacked Lloyd in the face. Could this be the guy Kennedy was going on and on about in the past few months? Lloyd could make out most of the conversation.
"Sure, I'll go." Kennedy chirped. The boy smirked.
"Great, but are you sure you're not tired from your party?"
Kennedy giggled. Lloyd missed that giggle. "A little birthday dinner wouldn't hurt. I'll be right back." She ran up the stairs to get a coat. Lloyd ducked behind a box before Kennedy could see him. He looked back at the boy. He must've sensed his presence because he looked in the direction of the box. Lloyd ducked lower, but he already saw him. The boy's mouth turned down into a scowl.
Kennedy came back down in her raspberry-pink coat. The boy looked back at her and smiled again. "Ready?" He asked.
"Ready." Kennedy said and followed him out the door.
Lloyd quietly followed them until he got to the railing of the deck and saw them walking down the shore to Ninjago City. That had to be him. The boy Kennedy met. Lloyd was infuriated. The next time he sees him, he'll, for sure, be having a nice long talk with him.
Sorry I posted this so late. I was too busy having fun at my party and I forgot about this. Well, review!
