"So, this is going to be interesting." Anthony said, smirking.

"Detective, I'm serious." Emily sighed. "Okay, forget it. I should ask her myself." Emily put her hands In front of her face.

"Look kiddo. It's not that I didn't want to help you but you need to resolve this problem by yourself. It's your relationship after all." He said wisely.

Emily nodded weakly. She took out her phone and sent a text to Spencer despite that she already knew that Spencer couldn't answer her right now.

Hey, Spence, i was wondering if we could talk right after your surgery. I really need to talk to you about this, I know I supposed to tell you this at lunch but I don't have courage to talk about it. So meet me later? –Em-

Emily hit the send button right away and put back her phone on her pocket before she grabbed her duffel bag and walked to the bathroom. "I'm going to change." Emily said to her partner.

"Go ahead."

Emily walked slowly to the patient's bathroom to change her current clothes to her academy sweat shirt and took out her badge and fixed her hair in front of the mirror. When she is done, she walked out to find her partner with some nurses checking out of her suspect condition.

"Is he awake?" Emily rushed to the side of the gurney.

"Yeah, but we can't ask him anything yet since he just woke up." He said

"You cops, better wait until he is ready to answer your questions." The nurse said to both Emily and Anthony.

The two cops nodded at the nurse and decided to wait until James better. In the meantime, Emily got a text from Hanna asking about how their date going. Emily decided to just ignore the text because she is not in the mood to talk about it and until she really got what she wanted. Just a second after she put back her phone on her pocket, the phone chimed loudly.

"Who is that?" The blonde man asked.

"It's one of my best friends. Excuse me, I need to take this, she won't stop until I hang up." Emily quickly walked outside and hit the answer button. "What?" Emily's voice filled with annoyance.

"How is the date going?" Hanna asked excitedly.

"Not as good as you expected, a little awkward actually." Emily stated slowly.

"Whoa, what happen?" The blonde asked curiously.

"I can't tell you yet until I figure this out with Spencer." Emily rubbed her head slowly.

"Sound serious." The blonde's voice suddenly turned to much calmer. "Okay, maybe I should just leave it to you to clear things out but if you already kissed, don't forget to tell me, okay?" The blonde teased from the other line.

"I'm hanging up now, bye Hanna." Emily said in slight of annoyance before hung up the call and shoved her phone back to her pocket.

Emily walked back to the patient room when she saw her partner already starting to question James; Emily walked slowly to the gurney and shot her partner a "Is he okay" look. Anthony nodded in response before Emily took out her notebook.

"Mr. Trebles, my name is Detective Anthony and the woman over there is my partner Officer Fields, we are from Philadelphia police department, we're here about—"

"You're here about my boyfriend's murder, aren't you?" He asked, cutting off Anthony's words.

Anthony nodded and crossed his hands in front of her chest while staring firmly to James. "You right. How do you know?"

Emily watched her partner carefully as she studied his attitude of asking question to people.

James sighed. "Adam and I were having a fight that night. I don't remember anything besides he went to his uncle's house. That's all I know." James stated slowly.

Anthony gestured Emily to take turns to ask him a question, Emily quickly catch the signal and moved closer to the gurney.

"So James, are you a smoker?" Emily started.

"Not often, but yes." James said weakly.

Emily nodded and wrote down the information on her small notebook. She put the pencil on her ear and stared at James firmly. "Why that person shot you?" Emily blurted, straight to the point.

Anthony glared at her sharply. Emily Catch the intense look but decided to ignore it and turned back her attention to the now nervous man at the gurney.

"That man is Adam's uncle." He said nervously.

Emily raised her eyebrow in confusion, Anthony quickly approached the gurney and gestured Emily to move from her spot.

"Wait, if he is Adam's uncle, why would he shot you?" Emily shot a question before Anthony does.

Emily watched James carefully; she noticed the changed behaviour from the man as soon as she asked the question.

"I-I don't know, we were meeting on that street and I asked him if he followed me but he said it doesn't matter and the next thing that I know, he was pulling his gun out and pointing it at me and all of sudden he shot me." He stuttered, getting nervous every second.

"Who is his name?"

"George Tyler." He stated quickly.

"Do you have any idea, where we could find him? Don't worry about yourself, you're safe here." Emily said reassuringly.

"I-I think he don't have any home here, you maybe can ask my uncle, Danny Knight."

Emily and Anthony both share a knowing look. Anthony smirking and led Emily's outside the room to the waiting room.

"I think you already got that?" Anthony said to Emily once they were out of sight from the patient room.

"Yup, I already watched his attitude and I know that he's lying about his meeting with Adam's uncle." Emily smirked, getting a smile from Anthony.

"You got my gift now, officer and excuse me; I need to make a call to bring Danny Knight for questioning." Anthony said while taking out his phone, Emily nodded in response.

Once Anthony already spoke to the Philadelphia Police Chief, she walked back to James' room and stared at him suspiciously.

Emily slowly walked to the gurney and prepared to ask more question. "So James, can I ask you one more question?"

"Y-Yeah, I guess."

"What were you guys fighting about?" Emily asked curiously, indeed there is another purpose on that question.

"I don't know, we were shouting at each other about some stuff."

"What kind of stuff?" Emily asked, as she noticed slight of change on his behaviour.

James looked really nervous as Emily trying to pressure him, cold sweats started to overrun his head. "Uh, some personal stuff." He said slowly.

"Okay." Emily nodded. "I think when you are better; we can bring you back to Philadelphia and tell us anything about that."

"S-Sure." He said nervously.

Emily shot him a smile before walk out to meet up with Anthony. Anthony just ended his call when he saw Emily walked up to him; her face was bright full of satisfaction.

"What's up with the face, officer?"

Emily's smile turned to a smirk in a matter of second. "We got him."

"Dr. Hastings there is a message from Emily, should I open it or not?" A nurse asked.

Spencer who still operating on patient, slightly turned her attention to the nurse. "Err, no. I'll read it myself." Spencer said quickly before turned her attention back to the surgery.

"Damn, the wound is widening. Hastings, stitch it quick!" The older doctor yelled to Spencer.

Spencer quickly moved her hand down to stitch the wound on the patient. "Bovie" Spencer extended her hand to the nurse as the nurse quickly handed her the tool that she needed. Spencer carefully burned the vessel to minimize the bleeding.

"Still bleeders there Hastings! Watch carefully." The doctor said firmly.

"I got it." Spencer said, while carefully stitching the wound. "Okay, bleeding stopped."

"Nice work. Okay, now you can clean up the wound and do the rest. I'm going to finish this." The other doctor said while finishing their job.

15 minutes later, Spencer cleaned up on the washing room before approached the nurse who has her phone, she mumbled a thank you before opening the text message that Emily sent her earlier. Spencer frowned at the text and thinking hardly if she should answer the text or just go straight to Emily. Spencer sighed before she walked out from the OR and find her way up to the first floor of the hospital.

Spencer nervously walked to the ER when she saw the raven haired girl talking to Anthony from behind. She was just about to call her name, when a poke on her shoulder got her attention first.

"Hastings, go check your patient and report back to me. I need to fill in the paperwork today." Her blonde superior said sternly.

"Why are you always busy with paperwork? It's not even important." Spencer sighed.

"Well, it's for my fourth year residency test; I need to fill this in before other bad things happen. So, if you are going to stand there forever, I won't be able to fill this paperwork and give you a ticket to residency, got it?" The doctor said before walked away to another side of the ER.

Spencer sighed heavily before looking up to Emily who still talking to Anthony. She decided to walked to her patient room while took out her phone and sent a text that she couldn't meet up with her until her next shift is over, which means she would out of hospital at 11 at least.

Spencer took one last breath before stepping in to the room. The patient still hasn't woke up yet, and the machines around her still work properly. Spencer took the report paper near the girl's gurney and walked to her IV and checking her bandages. After she was done, Spencer filled the rest of the paper before she heard one of the machine beeped loudly. She ran to the girl and saw that she stated to open her eyes.

"Hey, can you hear me?" Spencer asked slowly as she took out her lamplight to check her eyes.

"Where is my mom?" She slowly said, her voice shaking.

"Your mom is going to be here, okay? Can you hear me?" Spencer asked slowly.

"Yeah, I can hear you." She said weakly.

Spencer reached out her pager and put her resident's code on it before turning back her attention to the girl.

"Okay, Aveny. My name is Dr. Hastings. You're in a hospital after your accident 2 days ago. Now, you need to calm down, okay? Your parents will be here in any minute." Spencer said reassuringly getting a nod from the girl.

"Is she awake?" Dr. Warner asked from the doorframe.

Spencer nodded slowly as the blonde doctor approached them. "She just woke up seconds ago and she is fine. She just expected to see her parents."

"Go call them. I'll take it from here." The doctor said while checking the girl again.

Spencer jog to the nurse desk and searched the number of the girl's family before dialing it on the phone. After 4 rings, someone picked it up.

"Hello, is this the Todd resident?"

"Yeah, who am I speaking to?"

"I'm Dr. Hastings from Harrisburg Community Hospital, your daughter; Aveny Todd just woke up minutes ago."

"What? Is that true?" The other voice sounded disbelief.

"Yes."

"Okay, we'll come there as soon as possible, thank you doctor."

"You're welcome." Spencer hung up the phone and put it back on the nurse desk. When she was about to walked back to the room, her phone buzzed and a new text message appeared on the screen.

Spence, we need to talk. I'm heading back to Philly tomorrow. –Em-

"What?!" Spencer mumbled to herself in shock.

Emily's phone buzzed on her pocket and she quickly grabbed it and examining there is a text message that she haven't read yet, she opened it and turns out it came from Spencer.

Hey, I just got out from surgery. I think I can't, I still have to work until 11 at least. If you mind to wait, maybe right after I got out or maybe tomorrow instead? My Resident really has my head right now. Maybe, talk to you later. –Spence-

Emily sighed in disappointment when she read that message. She shoved back her phone to her pocket before turning back her attention to Anthony whom still talking to someone on the phone. Just a second later, Anthony ended his call and approached Emily in a firm look.

"I called the local PD and they already gave us some crucial information about this case. Now, I'm going to call our back home PD to manhunt of George Tyler and transport James back to Philly, we can't stay here forever." He said, getting ready to make another call.

"What can I do to help?" Emily offered.

"Talk to the administration center that James will be transported tomorrow morning, it's on my name." The detective said before began to answering the call.

Emily exhaled deeply before walked to the administration center in the front of the ER and spotting a blonde woman who seemed to be the doctor of James. She quickly approached.

"Excuse me; are you James Trebles' doctor?" Emily asked politely.

"Indeed I am. Can I help you?" The blonde doctor turned her attention from her paperwork to Emily.

"I'm from Philly PD and we have to transport him back to Philadelphia tomorrow morning." Emily said while showing off her badge to the doctor.

"Oh, right. You must be….." The doctor opened her notebook and then narrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Anthony?" She said, confused.

Emily realized that the doctor stared at her in confusion. "Oh, no no no, that's my partner, and before you asked. The name is on him." Emily smiled to the doctor.

"Oh, right. Sorry, officer….."

"Fields." Emily smirked slightly.

"Oh, yeah. Officer Fields, we'll get the administration done and you can transport him right away." The blonde doctor then turned her attention to one of the nurse. "Finished all of the administration of James Trebles, we are sending him to Philly." She said while getting a nod in response.

"Thanks doctor." Emily smiled.

"You're welcome." The doctor went back to her paperwork while all of sudden her pager loudly asking for her attention. "Oh, excuse me, this nurse going to give you the details. I have to go." The doctor said as she quickly rushed to wherever she was heading.

"Officer, the administration already complete, do you want to sign the form or just wait for your partner?" The nurse asked politely.

"Just on me, please. Where do I have to sign?"

"There." The nurse pointed to the corner of the form.

Once Emily signed the form, the nurse told her to wait, so she can fully complete the document. Emily impatiently tapped her feet while looking at her watch; she debated on her mind whether she should text Spencer back or not, in a second thought she took out her phone and sent the text to Spencer.

"Officer, all of the document for his transport already sent to the Philadelphia Community Hospital, and he is ready for the transport. Here is the yellow form." The nurse extended the form to Emily.

"Thanks." It's all Emily said before heading back to Anthony on the other side of the ER.

The detective just ended the call when she saw Emily holding the yellow form, she gave it to him and he told her to stay on the waiting room for a while before he made another call and Emily just sat there while her mind slipping through somewhere else or maybe someone else?. She wasn't sure if she could leave things unfixed with Spencer and just got back to Philly after left their status hanging.

After a few minutes, the detective finally turned his attention back to the exhausted officer sitting with her head buried on her hands.

"Kiddo, you okay?" The detective concerned.

"Not bad but just confused about what I should do." The raven haired blurted to her partner.

"Is this about Spencer?" He guessed.

Emily nodded silently, head still buried on her hands.

"We are leaving tomorrow afternoon or evening. You are going to help me gather some documents from local PD and then you're free. How is that sound?"

Emily quickly turned her head straight to her partner face and a smile began to appear on her beautiful face. "Are you serious?" She asked disbelief.

"Yep." He simply answered.

Emily just about to smile bigger when she noticed that her partner is too nice for her even this is the first case they have been together, her smile slowly disappeared. "I can't ask you for that; you have done so much to me."

"Nah, I have kids with the same problem as you, its fine by me. As long you still concentrate to find this killer and we have no problem." He smirked.

"Thanks." Emily smiled to her partner.

He patted her on the shoulder, before gestured her to join him to wherever he goes. Emily was glad that she had the best partner in the world that can understand her completely.

Tomorrow Afternoon

Emily was too tired last night and when she arrived at the hotel, she didn't even bother to change her clothes and she just jump to the bed and drifted herself to sleep.

When she woke up she noticed there was a text message on her phone that sent about 10 minutes ago. She realized that it was from Spencer, she quickly opened the message.

Hi, Sorry to wake you up but I think you can see me instead at my apartment at 10 or 11. I got an extra late shift so if you want to talk, just come here. Remember the address? 30th Peacock Avenue, apartment number 456. –Spence-

Emily smiled at the text and imagined what it would it be like if she and Spencer spending time at her apartment and doing whatever they want. "Stop doing dirty mind Fields" Emily cursed to herself before she drifted her mind out of her comfort zone.

After calming herself down, she quickly typed the reply.

No, you're not waking me up. That's sounds good. I'm going to help Anthony in the local PD this morning. Maybe, after that I could go there and catch up with you. –Em-

Emily tossed her phone aside and prepared to take a shower. When she was about to get into the bathroom, her phone buzzed again quickly getting her attention. She quickly picked it up and read that.

Perfect. Just don't bust yourself, maybe until then I could use some sleep. XD –Spence-

Emily chuckled slightly. She quickly typed the reply.

Well, just don't go crazy on your sleep, sleeping beauty. Bye XD –Em-

Emily checked the time on her phone and realized it already 7.15. She quickly get her ass into the bathroom and took a quick shower before Anthony knocked on her door like crazy as yesterday. Quite so, she heard a loud knock from her door outside followed by the heavy male voice shouted.

"Officer, get your ass up. We need to leave in 10 minutes!" The detective shouted.

Emily quickly put on her new clothes, another academy shirt with long sleeves and a new trouser before she got out from the bathroom and unlocked her room door so Anthony wouldn't give a crap to her later.

"Oh, you're up. Good." The detective smirked.

"I figured you may throw a bang on my door later, so I get up early." Emily rolled her eyes.

"Good, ready?"

"Wait a minute, I grab my stuff first." Emily quickly gathered her stuff and tossed it into her backpack, wore her badge and grabbed her cellphone. She made sure everything belong to her already in her backpack before she shoved Anthony aside and locked the room.

"C'mon." Emily nudged to the way out.

Spencer's Apartment, 10 AM

Spencer woke up from the sound of her alarm which ring loudly and echoed throughout the room. Spencer groaned and turn off the alarm and she lazily get up from her comfy bed before she headed straight to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth.

She changed her scrubs to a red shirt and shorts. Spencer did go home late last night because she swamped into 2 surgeries, taking care of 3 patients and dealing with her own problems. When she was arrive at her apartment, same goes as Emily, she fall asleep on her bed and did wake up at 6 before she texted Emily. When Emily said that she is a sleeping beauty, Spencer collapsed to her bed and fell asleep once again.

As soon as Spencer changed her clothes, a knock on her door get her attention. Spencer walked to the door, unlocking it and when she opened it, she found gorgeous raven haired girl holding flowers on her right hand and box of pizza on her left hand. She looked stunning even her hair tied up to a messy ponytail and her shirts already rumpled.

"Hi." The girl smiled brightly.

"Hi." Spencer said nervously. "Come in." Spencer stepped aside.

"Thanks."

Spencer closed the door and followed the girl behind. "So, what do you want to talk about, Em?" She started.

Emily put the pizza box on a table and walked up to Spencer. "These are for you." Emily said while handing the flowers to Spencer.

"Thanks." Spencer said sincerely.

"Um, about that…" Emily said nervously.

"Maybe, I should put these in the water first. Suit yourself." Spencer said while she walked to the kitchen to grab a vase for the flowers.

Emily sat down on Spencer's couch, trying to compose herself. She slightly glanced at Spencer who still preoccupied with the flowers and the vase. Emily pushed her mind and then she suddenly stood up firmly and stared right at Spencer.

"Spence, I actually want to ask you something." Emily said, both firm and determined.

Spencer tuned her attention to Emily. "What is that?" Spencer said, a slight of confusion in her voice.

Emily nervously took two steps closer to Spencer and stared at her straight to her eyes. "Why is your behaviors changed all of sudden when we had lunch yesterday? Please, answer honestly."

Spencer gulped. "I just somehow feel upset."

"Upset? Why?" Emily crossed her arms in front of her chest.

"Do you remember when I asked that why you never date anyone?" Spencer tilted her head, waiting for answer.

Emily nodded in response.

"You said that you didn't date other people because they don't interested in you at all, somehow I just upset." Spencer ducked her head.

Emily's lips curled into a small smile and she uncrossed her hands. "Spence, actually I lied about that." Emily confessed.

"What?!" Spencer said, half disbelief.

"Don't be mad. I lied because I felt nervous somehow when I met you and when we were doing lunch. So, I guess I just don't want you to be upset." Emily grabbed her Spencer's hands tenderly and stared at her with a hopeful gaze. "The real reason I never dated anyone because I have every piece of my heart attached to you and truthfully I was thinking I can get away with it but I couldn't."

"Em…." Spencer stared at her in awe and clearly affected by those words Emily said to her.

"I never like or loved anyone more than you, I was thinking that maybe when I didn't call you, you could forget me and maybe hated me but you didn't." Emily confessed sincerely.

"You know what? I lied when I said that I haven't interested in anyone lately." Spencer formed a playful smile.

"What do you mean? Emily asked in confusion.

"Honestly, I think I like someone." Spencer said slowly.

Emily slowly loosened up her grip with Spencer. "Oh, do I know who is she?" Emily sounded a little disappointed.

Spencer nodded and smirked playfully. "You do, you even know how she melts my heart with every words she said to me."

"Sounds pretty, can you tell me her description?" Emily said, loosened her grip from Spencer again.

"She is nice, beautiful, I just recently met her….." Spencer noticed Emily's grip loosened and she quickly squeezed her hand against the girl's hand. "And she is now standing right in front of me, bringing me flowers and a pizza box." Spencer formed a big grin on her face.

Emily raised her eyebrows slowly and a big smile appeared on her face. "I think I know who that is." Emily smirked playfully and slowly pulled Spencer towards her.

Spencer never expected that she would feel this feeling again. The atmosphere being created by Emily Fields are the comfort one and the amazing one. She could feel a tight knot on her stomach and shiver throughout her body. Spencer moved closer and closer to Emily. Emily felt that she is the one who had to make up her lie to Spencer decided to move forward, she tuck Spencer's loosen hair behind her ear, she could feel Spencer's warm breath against her lips desperately wanting Emily's lips to touch hers.

Emily put her hand on Spencer's waist and the other hand touched Spencer's face and slightly stroked it. Spencer put her hands around Emily neck and tilted her head a little. Spencer could feel the same thing she felt 5 years ago. Being in Emily's arm, being so close to her lips and could feel her warm breath, the entire world seems to be didn't exist anymore.

Embraced to each other, Emily took an opportunity to lean forward and slowly captured Spencer's lips to hers. Spencer quickly returned the kiss and pull Emily closer to her body.
