Lloyd's POV

I followed Kennedy and the down the sidewalk. I know. I said I wouldn't follow them, but being the guy I am, I went after them. I wore a dark hoodie as a disguise so Kennedy wouldn't recognize me if she saw me following. She and the mysterious boy were chatting away as they walked. I could barely make out what they were saying.

The boy said, "Glad…came."

Kennedy said, "Glad…too."

They chatted some more until they reached a fancy looking restaurant. It was big and colorful with lanterns everywhere. I've never seen the restaurant before. Is it new? I'm getting distracted. I followed Kennedy and the kid into the building. "Table for one, please." I said in a husky voice. I was seated at a table behind Kennedy's so I could keep track of what they were doing.

They started talking again. "So, uh…what's been going on recently?" What a great way to start a conversation… "Not much. Lloyd and the others threw a party for me. I wasn't really into it though." My heart sank. "She…she didn't like it?" I thought. The guy started chuckling a bit. What's his problem?! "How unfaithful of you." Kennedy lowered her head in shame. "I know. I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I wasn't too happy anyway."

"Why?"

"Remember when you took me back home?"

"Yeah,"

"Well…Lloyd noticed I was gone and when I came back he…yelled at me.

Something in the mysterious boy's eyes sparked up. Something told me that he was a bit angry now.

"Since then I've been a bit scared of him and tried to avoid him as much as possible. But I feel so bad now…" Tears started falling down her cheeks.

I'm the one who should be feeling bad. I had no idea how much I've scared her!

The guy reached over the table and wiped Kennedy's tears away. She looked up at him. "I have something for you." He got up from his seat and kneeled in front of her.

Oh no…

He took out a little black box. The people around us stopped their talking and looked at the boy as he opened the box to reveal a scarlet ring shaped like a rose. A few girls gasped at the sight of it. Kennedy gasped too.

"Kennedy, will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"
