A/N: I know it has been a long time since I have updated this story and I apologise for that. I will try and make the update quicker. A small filler chapter to bring the story up to date before I do the next chapter and now that the muse has woken up for this story I hope to be able to upload the next chapter sooner than it took me to upload this one.

The clash of swords were loud on the training grounds as Hogun made his way to begin his daily training routine, it had been almost a month since Loki along with Fandral had left on a mission for the Allfather for Jotunheim and for the third time in as many weeks he had again had a dream of Loki being tortured by a Jotun who remained unknown to him and the dream was as elusive as the identity of the mysterious Jotun.

Hogun tried to tell himself repeatedly that he was worrying unnecessarily about a dream that could mean anything, anything indeed beside Loki being tortured, he knew little about dreams having not been one to dream much and prophetic dreams he had never had and was certain this one itself was not a prophetic one but despite the amount of times that he told himself he was being ridiculous he just could not shake the feeling that the dream would come true.

Stepping into one of the fighting rings he nodded to a group of warriors who was in the grounds for the same reason as he to train and a few came to join him, they were new recruits not long in the uniform of an einjineer and they were still in need of more advanced training then was normally given to the newest of recruits this was where Hogun came in.

To the side of the fighting ring sat Lady Sif who watched her friend and fellow warrior put the recruits through their paces as he whirled to take on another who soon fell to his knees as the other warrior took out his feet from beneath him.

At first the recruits all made the same mistake where Hogun was concerned until they got to know the smaller quieter man like many who did not know him other than by his nickname Hogun the Grim that he would be an easy target being that he was smaller than the majority of the men who stood before him but that was their mistake in underestimating him as the man whirled to take out another with a punch to the side of their head and he then danced out of the way of another who had thought to attack the man from behind but his laboured breathing had given him away and it was not long before he was on the ground yielding to Hogun.

Sif laughed to see the dejected way in which the recruits left the fighting ring as each and every one of them was taken down by the smaller man standing in the ring with them.

"Excuse me Lady Sif I have a message for you."

Sif turned to her right from where she heard the voice and saw a young man standing a little to the side of her, he was dressed differently to those on the training fields and wore the simple robes of a healer and bore no weapons as was the way of the healers.

"Your message and who is it from?"

She asked tilting her head in his direction noting his nervousness at being on the training grounds his eyes wandering to where Hogun was dispatching of the last of the recruits and noticing some of the hostile looks that was being directed at the lad just off to the side of her from at least three of the already defeated recruits.

"Oh yes….umm…..the Lady Eir asked me to inform you that your fellow warrior Fandral is in the healing rooms being treated at this moment and he is anxious to meet with you and Warrior Hogun as soon as possible. It has something to do with Prince Loki but I was not told anything else."

Sif listened to his words as jumbled and as fast as they were and as soon as the lad had finished she indicated with her head that he was free to go having delivered his message and then watched as he practically ran from the training grounds the look of relief at being allowed to leave evident in his face as he fled. She turned back to where Hogun was now doing his cooling down exercises and noticed the same hostile look from the same three recruits as before being directed at the back of the retreating healer.

"HOGUN, we got to go my friend."

She called to Hogun and she waited until he made his way to her picking up his short swords from where he had left them and slipping them into the scabbards on his back.

"What is wrong?" he asked.

"Lady Eir says that Fandral is in the healing rooms and that we need to go and see him straight away, he has news of Loki that he needs to give to us."

Hogun felt a trail of fear of trickle down his back as he listened to her words that Fandral was in the healing room and he feared what it was that he was about to hear about Loki again the images from the dream that had haunted him for the last few weeks surfaced in his mind as he followed Sif to the healing rooms.

A/N: Small chapter I know but I promise the next chapter will be longer and I really do hope to have it up real soon.
