~The Shichibukai Arrives~

Sabo and Ann were making their way to where their boat had been, trying to stay hidden among the mangroves. Smoke billowed from other parts of the grove, and screams and shouts could be heard from all over. The battle between marines and pirates was slowly consuming the archipelago.

Something shot past Sabo's head and the root behind him exploded, knocking Ann down from the blast. Sabo got into a defensive position as he looked for the culprit that had fired on them, his eyes widening as he saw a figure towering over the two of them.

Sabo stared up at the large man standing passively over them. He would have recognized that hulking figure with his bear like features from anywhere. Sabo looked the man over, noting the obvious absence of the man's favored book. He watched the man's eyes turn red and felt his stomach drop.

"Angel of Death: Sabo, captain of the Seraphim Pirates and member of the Revolutionary Army," a robotic voice spoke after a while.

Sabo's eyes widened. "What?"

The man's eyes moved to Ann. "Ann, member of the Seraphim Pirates and the Revolutionary Army."

"That's Bartholomew Kuma, he's a Shichibukai!" Ann exclaimed as she stood.

"Bounty for Angel of Death: Sabo is 250,000,000 Beli. Bounty for Ann is 100,000,000 Beli," The robotic voice continued.

Ann's mouth dropped. "Why is my bounty so high? I haven't done anything as bad as you!"

Sabo watched the Shichibukai carefully. "Unlike normal pirates, we're also known as members of the Revolutionary army. Our bounties will be higher."

The man's mouth dropped open and a light began shining within it, Sabo faintly picked up on the sounds of something charging. He leaped at Ann and grabbed her, waiting till she wrapped her arms around his neck before jumping up. As he did so he concentrated on morphing his arms from their human form to shiny black feathers, keeping his transformation limited to his arms. He heard the blast hit the spot they had vacated seconds before, turning in the air using his mobility and wings to keep them in the air for a few.

Kuma's turned his gaze up to them, and Sabo's eyes narrowed as he wondered what happened to the man. This wasn't the same Kuma he had met all those years ago on Dragon's ship. The being began charging another beam and Sabo quickly reverted his wings back to arms as he landed on a branch. He ran as the beam hit the limb, breaking it from the tree as Sabo jumped to the next limb. He heard the heavy steps of the being crashing along behind them, he lifted Ann over his shoulder till she was being carried on his back.

As he reached the end of the limb he began morphing his entire being into that of a raven. His clawed feet kicking off the limb as he spread his wings. He beat the wings barely, allowing the air currents to guide his flight. He heard the constant firing of beams as the robot chased after him, pieces of the mangrove exploded around him. Sabo tried to go as high as he could, with the tops of the mangrove blocking such an escape route.

After several twists and turns, Sabo felt Ann move on his back. She leaned over his shoulder to stare below. He felt her grip tighten before she moved back and rested her head in his neck. Sabo beat his wings lightly as he moved through the mangrove, he noted how quiet it had become all of a sudden.

"I think we lost him," Ann shouted over the rushing wind.

Sabo turned his head, looking for a place to land and found a limb nearby that was high enough to hide them from the being's presence should it still be chasing them. He landed and waited for Ann to slip off before reverting back to his human form, sighing at how tired he felt. Ann placed a hand on his shoulder, keeping him steady on the large limb.

"Zoro!" a voice called in agony from nearby.

Sabo jolted, eyes widening, as he heard the desperation and fear in that cry. He had heard that kind of cry many times as a child. He turned his head in the direction it came from and jolted. Ann cried after him following as he took off running along the branches. Sabo didn't slow, even as Ann stumbled behind him, not quite as adept at jumping like he was. He came to a halt as he looked at the clearing that stretched far below him.

His eyes locked onto the familiar straw-hat even from the height he was at. He stared at the scene in front of him, trying to figure out what was going on. He noted what looked to be Kuma far below him, but he wasn't sure if it was the real one. He briefly noted two men fighting below, recognizing him from his height and admiral uniform. He heard a bellow from nearby and saw a hulking monster towering over everyone in the clearing, attacking the mangrove around it with no care for the safety of those below. A large man with an axe was dodging the monster's attacks.

"Damn it all!" a voice shouted from below.

Sabo watched as the blonde from Luffy's crew began running towards Kuma. The revolutionary felt his blood run cold as he tried to cry out for him to stop along with Luffy. He saw Kuma raise his hand, knowing where this was going, his eyes widening as he saw the man disappear. After a few seconds he saw Luffy stand up to fight as Luffy's crew began trying to escape at their captain's orders.

"Luffy." Sabo readied himself to leap down into the clearing.

"Stop!" Ann cried out grabbing Sabo around the waist.

"Let me go!" Sabo cried his eyes watching the battle.

Ann cried out as Luffy's fist was reflected by Kuma's powers and smashed the branch they stood on. Sabo could only watch as he struggled with Ann as Luffy was thrown back and his large blue haired crewmate vanished.

"Kuma will just send you away also!" Ann tried to reason, struggling to stop the blonde. "He's not hurting them! He's letting them escape the battle!"

"How do you know that?" Sabo snapped.

Ann held onto him tighter. "There's an admiral down there, and someone else. Kuma isn't attacking Luffy, he's sending his crew away."

"That is attacking Luffy!" Sabo argued still struggling.

Ann gritted her teeth. "There's nothing you can do!"

Sabo watched as Luffy's navigator and the monster got sent away from the clearing. He watched as Luffy rushed towards his final crew member, hand reaching out for the woman's. Just before Luffy could reach her, she was sent away, Luffy crying out as she disappeared.

Sabo felt his heart break as he saw Luffy collapse in front of Kuma, he knew just how bad Luffy must feel. He had seen the boy at his worst moments, he had heard from Ace how the boy acted when they thought Sabo had died. Sabo fought even harder as he saw Luffy turn to Kuma and the man's hand descend towards the boy.

"Luffy!" Sabo cried out as he saw the boy disappear.

He felt his knees give out as Ann pulled him away from the ledge and from the sight of those who may have heard him shout. Sabo felt tears stream down his face as he grit his teeth, wanting to launch down there and attack Kuma. Ann kept her grip firm as she whistled for Balloon.

Sabo could only stare in the direction of the clearing as the bird came through the trees. He felt Ann pulling him to the large bird, and he was pushed onto its back. His eyes still wide as he stared towards the clearing. Ann got onto Balloon's back with him, and the bird kicked off the limb, flying slower than normal due to the new weight.

Sabo snapped out of his shock. "Get me off of this damn bird! I have to go after Kuma!"

Ann shook her head. "You can't!"

"He just sent my brother to who knows where!" Sabo argued.

Ann wrapped her arms around Sabo's neck and hugged him tightly. "You can't fight him."

"Yes I can!"

"What about Ace?" she argued, feeling her own tears fall at her captain's state.

Sabo froze at the mention of his older brother. Ann continued holding the blonde, Balloon taking them to where their boat was. She ran a hand through her captain's hair.

"Ace needs you now. Luffy is safe," she assured.

"How could you know that?"

Ann smiled. "He's your brother. He won't be beaten this easily. Neither will his crew."

Sabo weakly gave into the girl's assurances, mind still reeling but realizing he really could do nothing. If he got blasted off to the who knows where by Kuma, it would take him a long time to return to his crew. They needed him now, and Luffy was strong. He would be fine.

Soon Balloon was landing next to the small boat bobbing in the waves. Sabo followed Ann weakly onto the ship, feeling drained of all emotions and strength. Ann began moving the boat from the archipelago, Balloon flying high above them. Sabo's gaze turned to the sky, watching as the sun began to set over the mangroves. What a horrible way to end the day, the setting sun not improving his mood. It was going to be a long night for the two Seraphim Pirates-a very long night.

~End ch. 6~

I hope you all enjoyed the last chapter. I have to say this may be one of my saddest chapters for this series, along with the Ace one. Next chapter is going to be quiet interesting, possibly one more Sabo chapter before Marineford, and possibly one for the Whitebeards.

Again thanks to my wonderful beta: Lady Spritzy for helping me with my chapters.

Reviewer's corner:

Miranda: Thanks for the review! Marineford will be coming up soon, I already started notes for it.

Till next time.
