~A Plan~
Sabo moved through the halls of the revolutionary base, finally glad to be back in familiar territory. Ann had immediately run off to go see the others of their crew as Sabo went to report in. He sighed as he stood in front of Dragon's office-he wasn't looking forward to a long meeting. He was anxious about Ace, and Luffy. He didn't want to be just sitting around the base for a long time.
Sabo knocked on the door and waited for an answer. "Come in."
Sabo opened the door and moved into the room, eyes straying over the other member of the army that was in the room. Koala stood straight, seeming to have just finished her investigation report from her last mission. She turned kind blue eyes to meet Sabo gaze with a small smile. Sabo nodded to her before turning to the man at the desk, who gave him a small smile, before replacing it with a frown.
Dragon watched Sabo approach. "You arrived faster than I thought you would."
"I transformed into my raven form and Ann rode on Balloon the rest of the way here," Sabo explained.
"Marines?" Koala asked.
Sabo nodded. "The ships from Sabaody began making their way back to Marineford."
"What happened at Sabaody?"
Sabo pulled out the notebook Ann had passed him earlier. "The Celestial Dragons did appear at the auction house as we thought they would."
Dragon nodded. "I see. Why were the marines called?"
Sabo chuckled nervously. "The auction house happened to obtain a mermaid that was a companion of a pirate crew. The crew attacked the Celestial Dragons in order to save her, or their captain did at least."
Koala looked at him in disbelief. "Who was stupid enough to attack a Celestial Dragon?"
Sabo chuckled again. "The straw-hat pirates."
"The straw-hats?" Koala asked before pausing. "Your little brother!?"
"Yeah. He punched one of the Celestial Dragons." Sabo looked over the notes and paused. "Ah, it looks like there was another reason the marines were there. They had begun surrounding the building in hopes of capturing an individual. It is believed that individual may be Silvers 'Dark King' Rayleigh, who was also in the auction house at the time."
"I see." Dragon closed his eyes. "And who did they send?"
"Admiral Kizaru for sure, and I think Kuma."
Dragon's eyes opened at Kuma's name. "I see."
"He attacked me though, and it didn't seem like Kuma."
"There is much you do not know about him. Nor is it time that I tell you about it," Dragon stated, keeping Sabo from questioning him.
Sabo only nodded, knowing not to talk back to his leader. Dragon studied the blonde in front of him, his eyes turning to the young girl as well. He already had their next mission ready, and he had to admit the mission worried him a bit.
Dragon straightened. "I have a mission for you two."
Sabo looked at his leader. "So soon? You normally wait to send one of us out again."
Dragon looked at the kid. "This mission is one of the utmost urgency."
"What is it?" Sabo questioned.
"You two are to infiltrate the marines before the war begins."
"What?" Koala asked, shocked at her leader.
"I want you two to report what happens during the war if it comes down to that. The marines will try to hide what they do from the world. We need the world to see their true colors." Dragon watched the two.
Koala laughed nervously. "How do you expect us to sneak into the marines?"
"Disguises of course, our agent in the marines is taking care of your paperwork as we speak."
Sabo frowned. "Boss-"
"Don't." Dragon looked at Sabo. "You have little time before you must leave if you wish to arrive with enough time to get a feel for the positions."
"We'll get ready then," Koala agreed, heading for the door.
Sabo stared at Dragon for a moment longer. "Thank you, sir."
Dragon only gave a small smirk before turning his attention back to his desk. The blonde bowed his head to the man before exiting the room. Koala didn't say anything as she saw the grin break out on Sabo's face.
"We better go see the girls in your crew." Koala began walking down one of the many hallways.
Sabo blinked. "Why them?"
"They know how to disguise you better than anyone else, being that they're on your crew."
Sano grimaced at that. "Fun..."
Koala chuckled at his reaction, and it wasn't long till they arrived in one of the many rooms of the base. The entire Seraphim Crew was in the there, Ann telling them about what happened on Sabaody. The children were paying close attention, not wanting to miss anything. Bonney had a worried look, her lips pressed in a firm frown. Maccus was chuckling at the things Ann said, enjoying the tale just as much. Silk was the first to notice Sabo and Koala and she stood from the seat next to Ann.
"Sabo." She hugged the blonde tightly, glad to see her captain unharmed.
Sabo smiled. "I'm back."
"You idiot," she whispered.
"Sorry."
She let him go, and before he could prepare himself, the kids had all latched onto him with a cry of his name. He smiled, hugging them or patting them on the heads, having slight trouble moving with four kids holding onto him. As the kids released him, Maccus came up and pat his shoulder as Bonney approached as well. She was still frowning as she brought a hand up to his face and flicked his forehead.
"Don't scare us like that," she scolded.
"Yes ma'am."
Bonney rolled her eyes. "Now I believe we have more important things?"
Koala nodded. "Dragon is sending us on a mission to infiltrate the marines."
Bonney nodded, going to where she was sitting, a folder on the table. "I have your information right here."
"Let's get this over with." Sabo tried not to grimace as he saw the bags set up on the table.
Bonney smirked. "Oh you're not getting out of this that easily. Ann, help me disguise our captain will you?"
Sabo jolted, really wanting to bolt out of the room, but Maccus only chuckled and pushed him towards the chair. Sabo reluctantly sat in the chair, watching Ann warily as she approached him and Bonney.
"Let's see. They decided to make you a commander. That's a nice rank."
"A commander? I'll be recognized immediately," Sabo argued.
Bonney pulled out a picture. "That's why we're disguising you."
She looked at the picture before handing it too Ann, Ann took it and studied the picture carefully. She then began rummaging through the bags, before pulling out what looked to be hair dye. Sabo glared at the bottle angrily, not wanting his hair messed with.
"What are you doing with that?" He bit out.
Ann met his glare with her own. "Disguising you. Dragon wants us to make you look like this man a bit."
She showed Sabo the picture and the blonde resisted the urge to shout at the girls and to storm into Dragon's office. He stared with hatred at the picture of the noble that was being presented to him. In truth it was the perfect choice for a disguise, but that didn't mean he wanted to be reminded of his cursed blood. Dragon would pay for this. He had no idea how he was going to get back at the man, but he would find a way.
"Sabo?" Bonney questioned.
Sabo glared at the picture. "Get that out of my face and just do what you plan to."
Ann put the picture down, watching as Sabo closed his eyes tightly. "I'll start then."
Sabo heard Bonney rummaging through the make-up, looking for something to hide his scar from the world. He felt her hold up his wrist, and test different colors on it to find the right shade. She wouldn't put the make-up on till his hair was done but she would find out what all he would need for his disguise. Sabo nearly jolted as he felt the cold gel being worked into his hair. He tried relaxing himself as he heard the tin foil crinkle as Ann did her work, the two girls discussing his disguise. He glanced out of the corner of his eye to where Apis was talking animatedly to Koala about something, both girls laughing every now and then.
After Sabo's hair was done and the remaining gunk washed out he headed for his room where his new clothing had been left. As soon as he had left the chair Koala took her place and Ann began working on her. As he entered his room he saw the clothing folded neatly on his chair and he walked over to it. He picked it up and glared at the pieces of cloth in disdain.
He quickly changed from his dress clothes to the short sleeved marine shirt and into the navy blue marine pants. He picked up the cap and placed it on his head, hiding most of his now short, black locks. He looked in the mirror as he tied the kerchief around his neck, and shuddered at how much it actually seemed to suit him.
He briefly wondered if he had disappointed his real father, would he have been forced into the marines to try and make up for it? Sabo shook the thought from his head before grabbing the bag and finding it packed with extra clothing, and he grabbed the remaining items he needed for the trip. He double checked to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything, had done that once and nearly gotten beaten within an inch of his life by an irate Ann.
He left the room, intent on finding his partner so they could set off as soon as possible. He couldn't wait to see what they did Koala.. He re-entered the lounge where he had left the others earlier, and he was shocked at the sight that greeted him.
Standing before him in full marine attire was Koala, except if he hadn't known her for so long he wouldn't have recognized her. Her light brown hair had been bleached and dyed a light green, and her hair was pulled back into a small bun. She turned and smiled at him as she heard his bag fall to the ground in surprise.
"What's with that look?" She stared at him confused.
Sabo stared at her, still in shock. "Gr-green."
"Green?" She brought a hand up to her bangs before laughing.
Sabo frowned. "What's so funny?"
"Apis was telling us about this mermaid she met in Sabaody. She convinced me because she remembered me telling her stories of my travels with the Sun Pirates, the fish-men who helped me." Koala laughed, as Sabo's shock faded.
"You'll be really noticeable."
Koala winked. "When am I not?"
Sabo rolled his eyes. "How do I look?"
Koala pursed her lips. "They did a good job picking out the dye. It looks just like his."
"I don't want to look like him." Sabo glared at the wall in irritation.
"You don't want to look similar to Ace?"
Sabo paused. "Ace?'
"Well, besides the short hair. Ann tried to pick a dye that was close to Ace and Luffy's," Koala explained as Sabo turned to face her.
"I see."
Koala glanced at the time. "We have to go, commander."
Sabo blinked at the title, before remembering his papers. "Right."
They headed for the docking bay, intent on getting a good start while the others were busy. The ship was just taking them to the nearest island with a marine base, and then they'd be traveling by a marine ship. As they arrived at the dock, Sabo was surprised to see Silk waiting for them, she stood, holding a few items in her hand.
"These are to help you." She said handing Koala the items, Sabo recognized the make-up bags. "Sabo knows how to do his eye make-up but still, in case it comes off outside your lodging."
Koala nodded. "I understand."
"Also, here are your files." Silk held out the folders to Sabo. "You're Commander Outlook Sabo, and Lieutenant Koala."
"Outlook." Sabo nearly spat out with disgust.
"Dragon said it'd make your disguise more believable." Silk smiled nervously.
"Right." Sabo took the papers and began making his way to the ship.
Koala followed after him, laughing at his reactions. Sabo threw a glare at her and she promptly smacked him for it. He laughed nervously at that, but didn't argue with her. As they reached the ship he turned back to see Silk still watching them.
"Take care of everybody!" He shouted to her.
She waved. "Will do!"
Sabo waited till the girl had turned and left the docking area before following his partner onto the ship. It was going to be a long few days till they reached Marineford. They were going to have to be very careful for the next few days, and make sure they made no mistakes. The journey was definitely going to be an exhausting one, but it was going to be worth it.
~End ch. 7~
Sorry the update is later than usual, homework piled up and I didn't get the chapters to my beta till late. Again thanks to Lady Spritzy for doing the beta for my stories!
Reviewer's corner:
Miranda: Sabo isn't weaker, Luffy's just done crazier stuff then Sabo in less than a year. Also at this point I'd say Sabo isn't second in command of the revolutionary army yet, so he's just a grunt. A very high level grunt. Glad you liked the last chapter!
Till next time and thanks for reading!
