~Begins to Take its Toll~
Magma began to rain down all over the battlefield, Koala watched from the ship in horror as she watched the magma fall. She quickly turned the snail off before diving into the water as she saw fists coming closer to the boat. As she dove deep she saw parts of the boat sink around her. As she swam for the surface she felt the water heating up and quickened her pace, glad for training with the fish-men of the revolutionary army so much.
She pulled herself up onto the ice, gasping for breath, and moved to help the pirates swimming towards the area she was at as well. She wouldn't leave anyone behind to face the dangers of that magma freak. She looked around the battlefield as the marines began firing down at the trapped pirates.
Koala grit her teeth before taking off towards where she had last seen Sabo, if anything meeting up with him would be the best next course of action. She heard the walls creak as Whitebeard blasted them, and the cries of pirates as they tried to continue moving forward. She finally reached where Sabo was at and he was knocking people away as he tried to get a hold of the situation.
"Sabo!"
The blonde turned to her, along with Ivankov and Jimbei. The fish-men's eyes looked her over as if trying to register something while Ivankov nodded to the girl. Koala looked around, looking for straw-hat, and frowned when she didn't see him.
"Where's Luffy?"
Sabo blinked. "I don't know."
"Is that him?" Ivankov pointed to the body of the giant.
Sabo looked there and nodded. "Yeah."
"Isn't that dangerous?" Koala questioned right before the people on the giant were blasted off.
"Yeah." Sabo watched as Luffy was blown back to them, and he caught his brother before he slammed into the ground.
"That vas obviously a trap!" Ivankov shouted at the rubber boy.
"You need to be more careful." Jimbei reprimanded.
"I need to do something though! I need your help!"
Sabo watched his brother before turning to Koala as the raven explained his plan to Jimbei. Koala jumped as she saw the giant begin moving, surprised at him being able to still be standing. Sabo grabbed her and pulled her along as Jimbei and Luffy began moving. Sabo transformed and Koala climbed onto his back, not planning to leave his side.
As he began flying, avoiding the cannons she saw a pillar of water shoot past them, and it looked like there was driftwood inside of it. She glanced back and saw Jimbei in the water, Ivankov nearby, but Luffy missing. Sabo laughed as he followed the pillar of water, the sound coming out in a beautiful chirp in his bird form.
~Sabo~
The blonde watched as he flew onto the wall the battle going down below as Luffy charged the admirals. He had to admit he was proud when Luffy attempted to charge past the admirals without actually fighting any of them. Though he about dived off the wall as Kizaru sent Luffy flying back, if it hadn't been for Koala holding him back.
He jolted as he heard Sengoku announce the commencement of Ace's execution. Sabo quickly changed his form and flew off the wall, heading for the platform. Though he knew it was stupid as he saw Kizaru appear in front of him. He felt the shot hit his shoulder and fell from the sky, slamming into a pile of rubble.
He hissed as he tried to move, hearing marines begin to move towards him, his shoulder bleeding and several new scrapes and cuts from the rubble. He now envied Luffy's rubber body, though he knew the boy still got cut and scraps, he probably didn't feel like he hit a wall. He heard cries of shock and pushed his face from the rubble to look around.
The first thing he saw was that the executioners were away from Ace, Sengoku looking pissed. He moved his gaze from them to the man the fleet admiral was glaring at. He had to admit he was shocked that Crocodile had saved Ace, and from the looks of everyone else so were they. A cry from his little brother grabbed his attention and he pushed himself up weakly, looking around for his brother.
He finally spotted Aokiji looming over where Luffy had fallen to, the man holding a bloody spike of ice. Sabo felt his blood grow cold as he saw the man moving to strike again, he weakly moved his body, feeling marines beginning to surround him. He fought against the hands trying to overpower him, his cuts causing him to cry out. He heard cries of pain from the men around him and looked up to see Koala punching and sending them flying off of him.
Sabo smiled gratefully before pushing himself up to rescue his baby brother. He didn't make it as the spike began to drop, horror filling him until a blue-fiery blur knocked the admiral away. Sabo felt relief as he saw the first division commander standing between Luffy and the admiral, he'd have to repay the man greatly for everything he has done for the blonde's brothers.
Sabo jumped as he heard cries of shock and the wall being busted through. He jerked back to see the Moby Dick slamming through the wall thanks to Oars. He watched as pirates began unloading into the plaza, Whitebeard joining the fray. Sabo pulled Koala close, planning to keep her away from the old man, he would protect his own, but he was dangerous when using his fruit.
Sabo took off running, Koala hot on his tail as they raced after the rubber-boy running for the platform. Koala smacked several of the larger foes around using fish-men karate, to the surprise of many of the marines. Koala smirked before nodding to Sabo, and running off towards the one whitebeard commander that was a fish-man, intent on causing havoc with him and Jimbei.
Sabo grit his teeth as Luffy was bounced around the area before he could reach the raven. Sabo charge at Kizaru, grabbing one of the pipes that was strewn around the damaged buildings, intending to smack some sense into the man. He was not surprised when even his haki infused pipe was knocked back by the light-man.
He slammed down next to Whitebeard who was holding his little brother. The man glanced down at the blonde as he weakly stood up. He watched Whitebeard toss Luffy back to one of his crew, and saw the man nod towards himself. He felt someone grab his shoulder, and he looked at the man in confusion.
"Get those boys patched up, they're done."
Sabo fought along with Luffy to get away from the pirates, He paused as he saw Luffy collapse, Jimbei rushing to the raven's side. Sabo slowed to a stop, dropping to his knees next to Luffy, begging the doctors to help him along with Jimbei.
"Those brats are full of spunk, but nothing but talk," Whitebeard spoke from in front of them.
Sabo grit his teeth. "What do you know about us?"
"You're just like Ace."
Sabo stopped as he heard those words, realizing the man was right, they were like Ace. He was their big brother, they always looked up to him. That was their bad points, especially Luffy, the ravens were too similar, Sabo had the brains those two the recklessness. Still when it came to his brothers' safety he was just as reckless, something Dragon tried to get rid of, and failed miserably.
He watched Jimbei move forward as Akainu began attacking Whitebeard. He wasn't sure what to do now, he was just as tired as Luffy, heck he was pretty sure he was just as beat as Luffy if not worse. Sabo glanced back to the battlefield, too Ace, wondering if stepping down would save his brother faster, maybe they weren't helping them enough. Maybe they were only in the way, he looked around an found Koala continuing to fight. The girl met his eyes and seemed to look at him questioningly before continuing forward. Sabo grit his teeth before deciding that he had to continue fighting to save Ace, the doctors would take care of Luffy, he wasn't quitting till he couldn't move anymore.
