So sorry this update is so late! My beta reader kidnapped my attention last week and wouldn't let it go till the next day. Anyway here is the newest chapter!
~Turning Back~
Ace glared at Akainu as the two bickered back and forth, Sabo and the others screaming at the older raven to just run. Sabo shouted out at his brother as the commander launched an attack at the admiral only to get burned in the process. Sabo grit his teeth a feeling of dread washing over him as the Admiral began to gain a physical form.
"Koala." Sabo began, inching forward, the girl turning to him. "Grab Ace. Now."
Koala only nodded and Sabo watched Akainu as he noticed Luffy collapse to the ground out of the corner of his eye, Koala began to get ready to sprint forward to grab the eldest brother as Akainu watched the raven in front of him. Sabo felt a twinge as he saw the man's eyes shift to the youngest pirate in the area.
"Take a good look," The admiral spoke to Ace.
The man began to turn from the older raven to the younger one, Ace tensed. "Hey! Wait!"
"Go!" Sabo shouted at Koala.
Sabo raced forward as he saw the magma fist begin to form, the man moving towards Luffy. He was glad that the man was so bulky, because of it he moved slower then Aokiji or Kizaru. As Sabo got closer, the fist loomed over Luffy who had reached his limit. Sabo launched forward leaping off the ground and wrapping his brother in his arms as he pulled him from the spot.
Sabo cried out as he felt a few drops of magma land on his back as the punch hit where Luffy had been seconds before. He felt his back begin to burn and ignite as he rolled away from Luffy, trying to put the fire out. He felt hands and cloth on his back, trying to get the fire off as pirates swarmed them.
"Sabo! Luffy!" Ace shouted struggling against Koala and Ivankov who were trying to lead him away.
"Sabo?" Luffy asked shakily as someone pulled the revolutionary and him further from Akainu, Jinbei blocking the marine's path.
Sabo gasped at the pain. "I-I'm...fine..."
There were cries of surprise and Sabo could just make out pirates crying out about Akainu attacking them. He looked around weakly for Luffy, the pain beginning to overrun his mind, he caught sight of his brother, collapsed on the ground, exhausted.
"Lu," Sabo mumbled, weakly reaching for his brother.
"Jinbei get them away! They're important to Ace so we must protect them!" A voice shouted.
Not a minute later Sabo felt himself being pulled off the ground and the pirates supporting him scattering away from the magma-user. Sabo groaned in pain and felt his consciousness slipping away as the former Shichibukai carried them away.
~Ace~
Ace protested against Koala as he watched Akainu aim for Luffy. The girl had a surprisingly strong grip though and Ace was forced in his weakened state to watch as Sabo barely dodged the fist, saving their baby brother.
"Sabo! Luffy!"
Ace shouted as Koala cried out for the large-headed revolutionary to help her. He felt the man's hands on him pulling him away from the magma-man. He watched as Marco and Vista stood between Akainu and the brothers he was trying to kill. Akainu attempted to slip past to attack Luffy and Sabo but Jinbei took the youngest brothers as Marco once again blocked the man.
"Ace move your ass! They're fine!" Koala shouted at the stubborn fire-user.
"But-"
~Koala~
Ace was cut off as he felt something hit the back of his head, sending him towards the ground and into a deep sleep. Koala and Ivankov carrying him far away from the mad admiral and towards the ship as Whitebeard moved to fight the magma-man. Koala looked back in surprise as a huge line was made, separating the earth as it parted the marines and pirates.
She heard Ivankov order her to move, and she followed along with a few other pirates, several staying back to watch their father-figure in shock. It didn't take long for them to reach the nearest ship, finding Whitebeard commanders that were out of the fight already on board. She ran to the front of the ship, hoping to see Jinbei coming towards them with Sabo and Luffy.
She stopped short as she saw new arrivals standing over the crowd, recognizing the looming figure of Blackbeard. She watched horrified as the man and his new crewmates attacked Whitebeard all together. She was shocked to see Whitebeard still standing from the bullets and constant attacks, she now fully understood why he was called the world's strongest man.
"One piece it exists!" Whitebeard announced loudly before growing quiet.
She heard cries of alarm and shock as she heard Blackbeard announce the man was dead. Koala shook as she brought her hands to her face, tears streaming down her face. She tore her eyes away as pirates shouted about escaping as their captain wished. She looked over the escaping pirates, trying to find Jinbei, spotting him after a bit as he ran for another boat.
She screamed out for Jinbei as Akainu blocked his escape root, fear gripping her heart for Sabo and Luffy, both unconscious in the pirate's arms. She saw many pirates fling themselves in-between Akainu and his targets, prepared to give their lives to protect Ace's brothers.
"We need to get them on the ship!" Koala shouted turning to the commanders on her ship.
"We wouldn't make it to them and they wouldn't make it here!"
Koala grit her teeth as she looked back out over the ensuing battle, focusing her attention on Jinbei and Akainu. She heard cries of alarm and sounds of destruction coming from Blackbeard's growing battle with Sengoku and the marines.
~Jinbei~
Jinbei grit his teeth as he heard the cries of his allies behind him as they blocked the admiral's path. He hurried to the edge, intending to delve into water where he would have an advantage. As he jumped off he found nothing but ice awaiting him and he felt dread fill him as he heard Akainu following shortly behind him.
Akainu aimed his magma fist towards the arm holding Luffy, and the fishmen maneuvered so that only his arm got hurt before he crashed to the ground. He moved back as he righted himself, checking his two charges quickly to ensure that they were okay. Jinbei grit his teeth as he saw Akainu approaching him, berating him for protecting the brothers.
Jinbei knew he wouldn't dodge the next attack with nowhere to run as the marine approached him. The magma began to form as the admiral prepared to attack the defenseless pirates watching them carefully to make sure he wouldn't miss. Before he could even raise his fist a wave of sand slashed through him, slicing his body in half.
Jinbei's eyes widened as he saw Crocodile materialize nearby, glaring at Akainu. The man then looked at Jinbei before unleashing a huge sandstorm that knocked the fishmen and his charges into the air. Jinbei cried out as he was thrown off the ice and into the air, holding tightly to his charges.
"If you're going to protect something do it right," Crocodile ordered. "Don't let this marine win. Someone catch them and get them on a boat."
Jinbei was thrown from the sand storm and into the air, wondering who would be able to catch someone as large as him. His thoughts were stopped as he felt something grab him, and begin carrying him and the brothers in mid air.
"What the hell was thrown at me?" A familiar voice questioned before the person looked at their load. "Jinbei! Straw-hat!"
Jinbei was relieved to find that Buggy had been nice, or unfortunate, enough to catch them. He was tired, the pain beginning to overwhelm him as the clown began panicking. He felt like yelling at the idiot for freaking out, but his attention was on ensuring he didn't drop either of the brothers.
He heard cries of surprise from all around them, the sounds of Blackbeard and Sengoku fighting back at the plaza could be heard as the place was destroyed. He could hear the cries of battle between the commanders and Akainu as they tried to distract him from Jinbei and Buggy.
"Bring Straw hat-ya over here!" A voice shouted up at them.
Jinbei cracked his eyes open to see a submarine far below them, he felt relief fill him as he hoped they would be safe now. He heard Buggy argue with the man, and if he had any strength left, that wasn't being used to hold the brothers, he would have yelled at the man. The clown fell silent though as the pirate spokes the words they needed so desperately at the moment.
"I'm a doctor!"
~End ch. 16~
I hope you all liked the chapter! Again sorry the update is so late, it's been hectic this month. Homework and tests killed most of my time, and then like I said earlier my beta reader kidnapped me for something and then homework and projects due the rest of the week. I hate the last few weeks of school.
Reviewer's corner:
TheCaptainOfShips: It'll be okay! *pats on back*
kunf'you'z-ed: Oh where have you been visiting? Anywhere fun? Hope you had a good time! Too much going on during the war, I'm surprised Sabo doesn't have whiplash yet. Sengoku deserves a nice punch for those secrets being revealed. I really wanted to include Koala and wasn't sure when I would get around to it, because Sabo's story may not focus much on her, not sure yet. Sabo is just wanting to make sure Luffy is okay, and with everyone wanting Luffy officially dead now, he's got to work hard.
Thanks for the reviews and till next time!
