~Escape~
Koala ran through the battlefield near her escape ship, keeping marines off pirates that were too injured to fight. She was acting as a decoy so those injured could get to the ship safely. Her eyes scanned the area, seeing the commanders closing in on her location, and she waved at the closest ones while pointing at the ship. Her attention moved to Akainu who was taking out any in his way to get to Luffy.
Glancing back around as she knocked a marine out she saw Kizaru attacking that clown as he tried to get Luffy to the submarine. She grit her teeth, trying to figure out how to stop the other two admirals, Akainu was the one going crazy and it had distracted them all from the threat the other two presented.
"Anyone injured get to the ship!" Koala shouted to pirates that collapsed near her.
She spun around throwing another marine away from herself before she looked back to where that clown had been. Kizaru was still there, but the clown had dropped his load off on the pirates on the submarine. Koala barely dodged a sword that was swung at her behind her back, as she rolled she kicked out knocking the swordsman out. The fighting was getting bad, she wasn't even sure if there was a plan anymore.
"That's enough!" A voice shouted loud enough to be heard over the entire plaza.
Koala ran towards where the shout has come from, many growing quiet as they stared at the area. Koala found herself standing near Marco the Phoenix as they stared at the sight before them. Some pink haired young marine stood before Akainu, pleading at the admiral to stop.
"Let's stop this already! No more fighting! Let's end this!" The boy sound like he was crying as he shouted at the admiral. "This is a waste of lives!"
"He's crazy," Koala whispered watching the scene in shock.
"We've already done all we can! Chasing after pirates who have no will to fight! Desiring for wars that could be prevented! Abandoning marines that could be saved if tended to and just piling more sacrifices on top of them! Every marine that falls from here on out, don't you think they'll look like complete idiots!" The young marine continued.
Akainu looked at him. "Who in the hell are you?" His fist became magma again as he raised his fist. "Seconds have been wasted. The marines don't need soldiers who can't even keep their faces straight."
Koala began to move forward if it wasn't for a hand stopping her, causing her to jump. She looked at Marco but saw him staring in surprise at the admiral and marine. Koala turned her gaze back to the young marine to see the magma fist stopped in midair by a sword. Koala looked over the swordsman shocked as she easily recognized the figure of Red-haired Shanks.
Koala turned her gaze to the person who had stopped her and found them completely surrounded by pirates from Shanks' crew.
Shanks stood proudly between Akainu and the young marine who collapsed on the floor. Shanks bent down to pick up the lone straw-hat that had been lost during the battles. He picked it up, looking at it for a moment before looking at Akainu.
"I've come to end this war."
Koala could only watch as Shanks had an exchange with that damn clown before his crew began surrounding him as they stared the marines down. The revolutionary watched the clown carry the hat Shanks gave him towards the ship and as soon as it was onboard the ship began to sink under the waves.
"Get Dragon's son." Akainu ordered.
Koala cried out as she saw Aokiji and Kizaru begin to go after the submarine. She was once again held back by a member of the red-haired pirates. She watched in horror as the submarine slipped under the waves, Kizaru's attacks still trying to hit it.
"Sabo. Jinbei. Luffy." She whispered, fear gripping her heart.
"They'll be fine." The pirate holding her back assured.
Koala turned her attention back to Shanks as Marco approached the red-headed captain. Koala nervously moved forward also, wanting to see the interaction. Shanks began telling everyone to stop fighting, and if they didn't want to stop then he'd fight them.
"I will take care of the funeral for Whitebeard." Shanks announced.
Sengoku watched the man before he moved forward so all could see him. "I will take responsibility. This war is over."
Koala felt tears fall from her eyes as one of the red-haired pirates began leading the commanders and herself away from the ruins. She was led onto the red force alongside Marco and several other commanders. Their eyes moved over the boats beginning to depart, her eyes finding the one Ivankov was on along with Portgas D. Ace.
The red forced remained in port as Whitebeard's body was brought forward and onto the boat by those of the Red-haired pirates. Shanks oversaw the move of the body, making sure his men were careful with the body. As soon as everyone was settled on the ship, the ship began to leave the area, heading back into open ocean.
As they moved over the waves, Koala kept an eye on the horizon, watching as ships in the distance began moving away from the area. She heard someone walk closer to her, and she looked up to see Shanks' sniper standing watching the ships in the distance.
"Pirates." Yasopp kept his eye on them.
"Pirates? From Whitebeards alliance?"
Yasopp shook his head. "The rookies, they came to check out the end of the war."
"They could have helped."
"They wouldn't have." Yasopp turned away going to report to his captain.
Koala leaned against the railing, staring down at the ocean below. Where were her commander and his little brother? She hoped they had escaped with the ship intact from the war. She closed her eyes, and felt the tiredness wash over her. As she began to slip into a deep sleep she felt a pirate pull her from the railing and below deck. Shanks soothing voice issuing orders as those around him followed them through with no argument.
~End ch. 17~
I hope you all enjoyed the chapter. After this will be all the post-war stuff, I will also be doing a time skip arc and attempt to look over everyone of major importance to the story, a Shanks or another person may sneak their way in, but not sure yet.
Reviewer's corner:
kunf'you'z-ed: I love Mihawk myself, my beta reader is actually a huge fan of him also. Sabo may not be the best with a sword but he can at least do something to protect Luffy. I felt that Koala would continue broadcasting everything she saw that was of importance, after all she is a Revolutionary. Whitebeard and his sons seem to have the policy of this is our brother's family so he's our family if that person earns their respect, or that is how I take it at least. It was hard changing things to fit the story, especially Sabo saving Luffy oh my god was that hard and take a long time to figure. Thanks for reviewing so much!
Thanks for reading!
