Journey Through the Past P2

Thalia's POV

After being told about Elijah Stefan got his phone out and called Elena. Damon and I stood with him waiting for Elena to answer.

"Where are you? Are you okay?" he asked when she finally picked up.

Their conversation carried on with him asking her if she was okay and then asking where she and Elijah were.

"Listen to me. He can't be trusted he'll use you to get to Klaus." Stefan said into the phone. Elena went on to respond with something else and Stefan responded with. "You can't do this alone."

"Did she just hang up on you?" Damon asked.

Still looking at the phone Stefan responded with, "She did."

"She's lost it." Damon cried throwing his hands in air. While the two brothers argued I thought about my dream once again, about the faceless man, to most the thought of a faceless person would send chills down their spines, but not to me, somehow I knew this faceless man, the way he spoke, the way he treated me, even though it was only a dream I could've sworn those things had happened before.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when Stefan's phone rang. He picked it up and answered, "Hello?"

"Jenna, hey." I looked at Damon confused as to who Jenna was. 'Elena's aunt' he mouthed, and I nodded my head in understanding.

"Ah, Elena's not here at the moment. Is, uh, is everything ok?"

"It's really hard to explain over the phone, but, um, she was hoping that you could stay on campus for a little while longer."

"Wait, you're home?" Stefan asked already starting for the door.

"Jenna, listen to me carefully. Whatever you do, do not meet Alaric at the grill. I'm going to come over right now and I'll explain everything." He then hung and turned to Damon who was pouring himself a drink.

"Wow, I'd love to lend you a hand, but you wouldn't want me doing anything stupid." Damon said stubbornly.

"It's seriously going to be like this?" Stefan asked.

"You and your girlfriend are calling the shots. I'm just backing off, Stefan."

"Fine, are you coming Thalia?" Stefan asked me.

"Sure, don't have anything better to do" I shrugged.

Stefan and I made our way to the door, got into his car and were off to Jenna's house. The drive was silent so of course my mind went to the faceless man. Soon Stefan realised that I was deep in thought and decided to ask if everything was alright.

"You okay, Thalia? You seem distracted."

"Yeah just had a weird dream last night."

Gilbert's house

We arrived at the Gilbert's house and Stefan knocked on the door. A short red head opened the door; she smiles slightly at Stefan and then looked at me.

"Thalia, Stefan's friend." I reached my hand out for her to shake.

"Jenna, Elena's aunt." As we shook hands Stefan walked into the house. Jenna and I followed him in.

"Hey, Jenna. Thank you so much for not going to the grill."

"Um, Stefan…" I stood next to Jenna as a tall man walked around the corner behind Stefan, I recognised the man as Alaric, the body Klaus was currently using as a host.

"No, listen. I can explain." Stefan said, not knowing that Klaus was standing behind him.

Jenna looked over Stefan's shoulder now looking at him too. Stefan noticed we were both looking behind him so he too turned to see Klaus there.

"Hi, Stefan. How's it going? Oh ... and you brought Thalia too."

We were in the kitchen and Klaus was chopping some food with a big knife, we were all looking at him, Jenna with a confused look while me and Stefan both had a careful look, watching every move of his ready for an attack.

"You know, I find chopping... Calming. The feel of the blade in my hand." 'Alaric' started.

"I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what the hell's going on." Jenna announced.

"Well, would you like to tell her, Stefan, or should I?"

"Tell me what?"

When Stefan didn't seem like he was going to say anything Klaus decided to start. "Do you believe in vampires, Jenna? No?" he started laughing lightly. "Well, who does, right? But believe it or not, they do have a place in our history. And as a history teacher, I find them fascinating."

"Why are we talking about this?" a very perplexed Jenna asked, both Stefan and Thalia watched Klaus/Alaric, wondering what he could possibly gain from telling Jenna.

With a smirk on his face Klaus answered. "Well, you've been angry with me for keeping secrets, and this is one of my secrets. I'm obsessed with vampires. There. I said it." He gave out a small laugh.

"Are you joking?"

"Not at all. How about you, Stefan? Are you a fan of vampires?" He looked at Stefan with the same smirk.

"In literature. Bram Stoker. It's dense, but I appreciate it."

Klaus had gone through the whole conversation without looking at me and when he did there was something in his eyes that I couldn't figure out. "And what about you dear, Thalia, are you a fan of vampires?"

"Not really, I find them rather dull creatures." I said still staring at him with a blank expression. His smile didn't waver however he only continued talking about vampires as if I didn't just say anything.

"Hmm. Did you know that vampires are the oldest creatures of the night? Except for werewolves, of course."

"Werewolves. Werewolves. Now I know you're joking." By now Jenna was fed up with Alaric/Klaus and wanted him gone.

"You know, I've read that there's an Aztec curse on both species that keeps werewolves slaves to the Moon and vampires bound by the Sun. Isn't that right, Stefan? You know, they say these creatures would do anything to have this curse broken and that they wouldn't care who they had to kill to do it."

Much later in the evening we were still with Jenna, and Klaus just kept on talking about vampires.

"Oh, I know this all sounds so crazy, but... vampires are real. Would you care for some more wine?" he got up to reach for a bottle of wine.

"Get out." Jenna demanded.

"Excuse me?"

"I don't know what it is you're trying to do or why you're saying these things, but…"

"Jenna…" Klaus tried to speak but she cut him off.

"I said get out!" Jenna's voice had started getting louder.

Stefan and I both stood up at the same time.

"You heard her." Stefan said while glaring daggers at Klaus.

"I'm afraid I don't want to." Klaus said not making a move.

"Fine! I'll go." Jenna shouted and started moving towards the door.

Klaus grabs a knife, stands in Jenna's way pointing the knife at her. "You're not going anywhere."

Stefan using his super speed, pushed Klaus against the wall and puts the knife to Klaus's throat, while I grabbed Jenna a push her behind me.

"Stefan!" Jenna shouted staying behind me.

"Thalia get Jenna, get out of here now!" Stefan shouted at me, I nod and start moving Jenna towards the exit.

"You can't kill me, Stefan." Klaus said with a bit of a struggle having Stefan press a knife to his throat.

"Watch me!" Stefan said back.

"Stefan!" Jenna shouted again while I struggled to pull her out of the house.

"I may not have a witch protecting me today, but if you kill this body, what's to stop me from choosing Jenna as my next one?"

"Jenna, go."

"But you're… you…" when Stefan looked towards us the veins on his face were popped out and a deep red, his eyes were also the same deep red with black around them, his fangs were also poking out of his mouth.

"I said go!" taking one look at Stefan's face she went running I stayed back and looked at Stefan before leaving, making sure he was ok, he nodded at me and I followed Jenna making sure she didn't go completely insane over thinking what just happened.

We walked towards Stefan's house, she kept talking about vampires and Stefan's face, unfortunately I couldn't get a word in her rambling, so I just walked quietly as she rambled.

Salvatore house

We had arrived at the Salvatore house a while back, waiting for Elena to show up so that she could talk with Jenna, I had to stay with Jenna because she didn't want to be alone and she didn't want to be with Stefan either because she was scarred of the way he looked earlier.

So basically I had to be in the same room as a crying woman all alone with no idea of what to do or say, fantastic.

Finally Elena showed up and I was able to leave the room. Elena and Jenna talked for a while and me and Stefan just waited outside until they were done.

"Is she gonna be ok?" Asked Stefan as Elena walked out of the room.

"She's in shock. I tried to tell her as much as I could, but I barely scratched the surface."

"I'm so sorry, Elena. I hate this."

"It's not your fault, Stefan. It's mine. Anyway... I have to go back to Elijah."

"Wait, what? No, no!" Stefan tried to stop her while I stood there listening to their conversation while leaning against the wall.

"Stefan, I promised him that I would return. I can't break that promise."

"Oh." Mumbled Stefan, I could tell he didn't want to let her go, but she could take care of herself. he nodded and let her make her way to the door.

"I'll be okay." She reassures him, she's nearly at the door when Damon stops hers.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asks her.

"Back to Elijah." She says while trying to move around him.

"No."

"Get out of my way, Dam..." he catches her arm, stopping her from leaving and continuing her sentence.

"If you so much as try and take a step out of this house..."

"Damon, easy." Andie tried to stop him.

"Stay out of this, Andie."

"Let her go." Commanded Stefan, who now stood in front of Damon.

"Are you kidding me? We just got her back"

Stefan catches Damon's arm. "You heard me. I said let her go."

"That's twice today you've stood in my way. I wouldn't try a third."

It had been a while since Elena left the second time. In that time Stefan and Damon had gotten into another fight about her while I just stayed in the library trying to read that same book I've tried reading this whole time, but this time it wasn't just my dyslexia that prevented me from reading, it was also the fact that I couldn't stop thinking about that man from my dreams, the more I thought about him the more I thought I was getting close to finding out who he was but all too quickly any traces that would help me identify him were gone and I would be left there with no idea of who this man is. I put the book down and decided to concentrate on him, most of these dreams were from when I was younger, except for the one where I'm in a dress.

I try to focus on my childhood something I don't like to do, but if it will help me finding out who this man is. I focus on my dream, I was walking with the man who towered over me, I focused on him trying to find out anything about this man, his hair colour, his eye shape or even the size of his nose, anything that might help me. I was getting close I could feel it but then I was brought out of my focused state by voices down the corridor. Frustrated I walk out of the library, down the corridor to see why I was taken out of my concentration. When I get to the end I see Stefan, Damon, Elena and the man from earlier now dressed in a non-tattered suit. No one notices me coming in so I stayed in the back listening to their conversation.

"Now you've invited him in?" I heard Damon say.

"Elijah and I have renewed the terms of our deal."

"Really?" Damon asked sarcastically.

"The two of you will come to no harm at my hands. I only ask for one thing in return."

"What?" Damon asked again.

"An apology." This Elijah guy stated simply.

"A what?" Damon asked once again only this time his voice raised.

Stefan got closer to where Elena and Elijah stood. "I'm sorry for the part that I played in your death. I was protecting Elena. I will always protect Elena."

"I understand."

Elena then looked at Damon. "The sacrifice is going to happen, Damon. Bonnie will be able to kill Klaus without hurting herself and Elijah knows how to save my life. I told you I'd find another way. And I did."

"Is that true?" Damon asked Elijah.

"It is." Elijah assured.

Damon turned back to Elena. "And you're trusting him?"

"I am."

"You can all go to hell." He said to them and then proceeded to walk past me angrily.

Stefan looked at Elijah. "He's angry with me right now. But he'll come around."

"Perhaps, but right now I would like to speak with her." He said while pointing at me. Elena and Stefan both look at me, finally noticing I was standing here all the time. I waved at them and walked towards them. Once I stood in front of Elijah he placed his hand in between my shoulder blades and we walked outside so we could talk alone.

"I am Elijah, Klaus's brother."

"What a nice introduction." He didn't say anything; he only waited for me to introduce myself. "I'm Thalia."

"I have met your kind before, Thalia; none of those encounters were especially pleasant."

"Normally encounters with 'my kind' aren't" he gave me a dry smile. "Stefan asked me to come because he thought I could help him with whole Klaus business"

"I gathered as much, but what I do want to know is, who is your father?"

I looked at him, only Stefan knew who my father was, I didn't even tell Elena who he was, but something about this man told me I could tell him.

"Zeus"
