Thalia had barely slept last night, instead of having the somewhat nice yet infuriating dreams she got a nightmare.
She was standing in the middle of a clearing in complete darkness, she couldn't move she was stuck to the ground, she tried to call out for someone, anyone but when she opened her mouth no sound came out.
All of a sudden a circle of fire surrounded her, it was her only source of light and she was finally able to look around.
She looked at her surroundings but saw that no one was around. Then she heard the snap of a twig, she looked towards the sound and saw the silhouette of a man, not just any man, the faceless man from her dreams, only this time as he got closer she saw that he indeed did have a face, but it wasn't a kind, gentle face as she imagined him to have, it was a dark face with a cruel smile.
He got closer to her and stepped through the flames around her until he stood right in front of her, she had to look up at him and she still couldn't move or make a sound.
He looked down at her and then his smile got wider, she could see the veins in his face beginning to show, his eyes turned into a bright red and he opened his mouth to show his growing fangs. Quicker than any human he bent his head down to Thalia's neck and took a bite, unable to scream out in pain, Thalia wondered how the kind, faceless man from her dreams could be this horrifying monster. Blood dripped down Thalia's neck and as the man brought his head up, he showed Thalia once again that cruel smile that was now dripping with her blood. He dipped his head in again to drink more of her blood.
Thalia woke up breathing hard, her hand reaching up to her neck to find it was clean of a vampire bite. She got up and showered. While the soothing water hit her body she wondered how this man could have ever been kind to her, and how she knew that the monster from her nightmare had been the man from her dreams, she didn't know how but when she put the monsters face in the body of the man from her dreams it just fit, except maybe for the cruel smile he wore.
She got out the shower and got dressed in some storm grey, skinny, ripped jeans and her old death to Barbie shirt, which had stretched out so much from her wearing it that one sleeve fell off her shoulder and showed her bra strap. After getting dressed she added some of her usual make up and headed downstairs.
Before heading out of her room she grabbed her phone and then walked down the stairs and checked the time on her phone. 4:35.
Groaning Thalia continued her walk down the stairs. When she reached the ground floor she looked into the living room to see Elijah standing looking through one of the windows. She walked towards him and stood beside him also looking through the window. They stood silently watching the nature outside when Elijah started a conversation.
"How did you sleep?"
"Not very well." Elijah turned towards her with an eye brow raised, looking at him Thalia continued. "I had a nightmare."
"Yes, I heard your kind tends to get nightmares, care to talk about it?" Elijah asked trying to be kind.
"Nah it's alright, did you sleep well?" Thalia asked.
"I didn't, I believe being forced to 'sleep' made me resent it"
"I know the feeling." She grunted.
"Care to elaborate?" Elijah asked.
Thalia gave him a smirk before responding. "Maybe another time but right now I'm starving." With that Thalia made her way towards the kitchen to get herself something to eat. Chuckling Elijah followed the young girl to the kitchen, where she proceeded to bring out a bowl and some cereal and poured it into the bowl. She then walked to the fridge and got the milk out and also poured it into the bowl.
"I heard a lot of your kind tend to have 'powers' is that true?" Elijah asked once Thalia had finally settled down and leaned against the counter while eating her cereal.
"Can you stop saying 'your kind' it's sort of demeaning? And yes some of us do have 'powers'"
"My apologies, and do you posses any?"
"I can control the winds and make storms and some other things like flying or what not, but I'd rather have my feet on the ground." At his questioning glance at the last statement she added. "Not a fan of heights."
Elijah nodded, settled on a comfortable silence as Thalia continued to eat. Once she finished they moved back to the living room and talked, Elijah telling her about the various different historically famous people he had met throughout his years and Thalia telling him about the various monsters she had encountered and some of the gods she had met.
Soon enough their story exchange was finished as Stefan and Elena made their way to the living room, where they started to talk about the full moon.
"Tonight is the full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse." Elijah started.
"Elena said that the Sun and the Moon curse is fake? That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus." Stefan asked.
"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it... He'll be a true hybrid."
They all looked almost shocked but even more scared. All were too busy thinking about Klaus to notice Thalia had dark circles under her eyes.
Before anyone did have a chance to notice her, Damon walked in with his non-caring look on his face, as he always seemed to have when he saw both Stefan and Elena together.
"Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie."
"Damon..." Stefan started before Elena interrupted him.
"No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying."
"I'll write her a great eulogy." Damon rolled his eyes.
"It's not an option, Damon." Elena told him.
"All right, how do we break this curse?" Stefan asked, trying to change the conversation.
"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know." Elijah stated.
"The moonstone." Stefan started.
"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each." Elijah finished.
"And where do I fit into it?" Elena asked him.
"The final part of the ritual." Elijah said as he took a wooden box from the shelf. "Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger... To the point of your death."
Damon looked at Elena when he said this. Stefan took Elena's hand and she looked at him. Thalia kept on looking at the box, thinking about how Stefan called her here to make sure Elena was safe, and here they were talking about how Klaus was going to drink her blood clean tonight, but she was going to do as Stefan had asked of her and maybe when this was over and she had left this place the dreams/nightmares would go away.
Elijah opened the box and took a jar from it.
"And that's where you come in." Elena added trying to sound strong.
"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation." Elijah told them.
"So I'll be dead?"
"And then you won't."
"That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" Damon asked, not really looking for an answer to that. He looked at Elena and said. "You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?"
"Those rings only work on humans. The doppelgänger's a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work." Elijah told him.
"I'll take those odds over your elixir. What if it doesn't work, Elena?" Damon asked her, with an almost desperate look in his eyes.
"Then I guess I'll just be dead."
Damon looked at Stefan. Mentally asking him to do something to stop her, anything but, Stefan only shrugged tensely, he knew he couldn't say anything to stop her and so didn't. Frustrated Damon looked at all of them before storming out of the room.
"Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this? Does he have a werewolf? Elena asked him.
"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years. If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess is by tonight, he will." Elijah said.
The day went on with Damon and Stefan arguing about Elena and, Elena and Elijah talking about her fate. While Thalia just sat in the library once again thinking about the monster from her nightmare. All were startled when they heard the voices of Jenna and Alaric shouting. They rushed towards the voices and saw Jenna pointing a crossbow at Alaric.
"Get out!" Jenna shouted at him.
"Jenna, Jenna!" Alaric tried to get her attention but Jenna wasn't having any of it.
"Get out!" she shouted again.
"Jenna, put the cross-bow down, ok? It's me." Alaric tried to convince her.
"Stay away from me." She shouted at him, still thinking that this was Klaus inside Alaric's body.
The other five join them and see the scene. Elijah had an odd expression on his face, Stefan, Damon and Elena had a confused look on their faces still thinking this was Klaus, while Thalia had an almost amused look, she still thought that this was Klaus but seeing, Jenna, who only last night found out vampires were real was standing there with a crossbow pointed to one.
"What's going on?" Elena asked.
"It's me, Elena, I swear, ok? He let me go. Klaus let me go."
"Prove it." Damon said. Alaric looked at Jenna who was still pointing the bow and arrow at him.
"Ok, uh, first night you and I spent together, Jeremy walked in right when I was about to..." Alaric started but Jenna quickly stopped him.
"Okay, it's him." She carefully put the bow down and looked at him again.
"Why did he let you go?" Stefan asked him
Alaric looked down quickly, gulping before looking back up and saying, "He wanted me to deliver a message. The sacrifice happens tonight."
They were all sitting in the living room (except for Damon) looking at Alaric.
"So you don't remember anything that happened?" Stefan asked him.
"No. It's like I blacked out and woke up 3 days later. Katherine was there."
Stefan nodded saying, "She's under compulsion. Damon snuck her some vervain, but she can't leave until Klaus tells her she can."
"Where is Damon?" Elena asked.
"I saw him go upstairs." Jenna told her. Elena then got up and left the room.
After Elena had left, Alaric looked at everyone and asked, "So what else did I do?"
They start telling him what happened and introduce him to Thalia properly. They continue talking until Stefan (hearing something only Elijah and he could have heard) ran out of the room and upstairs to Damon and Elena.
Jenna and Alaric look at each other before both following him. Thalia and Elijah are both alone once more, Elijah knowing completely what had happened thanks to his super hearing and Thalia knowing vaguely of what happened and had Elijah explain it fully what happened.
After they moved onto the library and Thalia picked up the box on her way out. Elijah stood near a window where the sun could shine through onto the jar containing the elixir. Thalia sat by the window also looking at the jar. Elijah was explaining to her how he had come across it when Damon barged into the library. He walks in, looks at them and walks to the table and pours himself a drink. Elijah opened the wooden box and placed the jar carefully inside it and then closed the box again.
"Well, it sounds like you won't be needing this anymore. Feeding her vampire blood rendered it useless. Tell Elena I'll be back before nightfall. We'll proceed as planned." Elijah announced.
"We both know that elixir wouldn't have worked anyway." Damon said, Thalia scoffed at him, he sort of reminded her of herself, prideful and reckless, though she wasn't as reckless as him, but reckless all the same.
"The problem, Damon, you talk a good game but you don't actually know anything. She'll never forgive you. And never for a vampire... It's a very long time." Elijah then walked out but not before inviting Thalia to go with him, he wanted to see just how powerful she was and if her powers could be used against Klaus, with her agreeing upon it though.
After her talk with Elijah and showing him some of her powers (which she explained are much more dangerous depending on her emotions) she got into her own car, (which she had driven herself when she first got here) and drove to Mystic Grill to find Damon.
As she walked to the door, she checked her purse to see if she had enough for a burger or something and she walked into someone, they held onto her shoulders to keep her from falling, as her eyes followed up the arms of this person and landed on their broad shoulders she realised this was a man.
She was about to yell at this guy for not looking where he was going (pretty hypocrite but still) until she looked at his face. This was the man from her dreams, the monster from her nightmare.
Klaus looked into Thalia's eyes and watched them go from anger to same look of curiosity just the same as when he first saw them, only this time they also held confusion and dare he say it a small amount of fear, which is completely wrong because he had never seen fear in her eyes before and he had knew her as a child.
He started to worry; he wanted to know why she looked at him this way, did she remember him? What of course not, I had compelled her, there was no way she could remember me. And so Klaus pushed his feelings aside, something he was too good at and smiled charmingly at her.
"Sorry love, I didn't mean to make you lose your balance, but I must be going now." With that he let go of her shoulders and left, left before she could get a word out.
Thalia was very frustrated, she knew she had met this man but where, and why did he continue to infiltrate her dreams and why he was the monster from her nightmare. She knew she couldn't ask the last two because otherwise he's think she was crazy, dreaming about someone she hadn't met before and when he called her 'love' it hit something, deep inside her that she couldn't figure out.
And so she went inside the Grill in order to get her frustration out by eating one of their delicious burgers. And when met up with Damon and Alaric she didn't mention anything about the man, she didn't mention it to anybody.
