You guys got an update the day after woah you must be really proud but I guess I just wanted to update faster this time :P
To the guest: Nico will definitely not be in this fic, because he and Thalia have barely spoken to each other in the books so I doubt he would come. Percy, maybe I don't know he still has nothing to do with the plot so we'll find out in the future and Jason might be in it depending on whether or not Heroes of Olympus happened in this story but I might just make it that he really did die when he was two instead of making him a child of Jupiter. Plus Thalia is a big girl and I'm pretty sure she can leave when she wants to and if they wanted to go look for her they can just Iris Message her.
The Sun Also Rises Part Two
QUARRY
They were in the woods watching it happen. They saw Klaus stabbing Stefan in the back and leave part of a wooden stake in it. It then moved to Jenna who just before got killed tried to stop the ritual by biting the witch's neck but Klaus took her away effortlessly and staked through the heart.
Klaus then turned to Elena. The circle of fire disappears from around Elena; she looked up at him to see his extended hand. Elena got up from the ground by herself ignoring Klaus' hand and walked around him to the altar. Klaus followed her to the altar and grabbed her face making her look at him. They see Stefan struggling to stand up from the ground but his efforts are hopeless but he continues on anyway.
They watch as Klaus leans in and bites on Elena's neck drinking her blood, just like he did in Thalia's dream. They watch as Elena's life got drained from her. Once he finished he let's go of Elena's dead body and lets her fall to the ground. The flame in the bowl extinguishes itself.
Klaus walks down the steps slowly, his mouth moves but since they are so far away Bonnie and Thalia don't hear but Elijah and Damon do.
"I can feel it. It's happening."
Klaus looks up at the moon when suddenly his bones begin to crack as he starts his transformation.
"Yes, yes!"
This was Bonnie's cue she made her way out chanting a spell and Klaus gets thrown through the air. They all move around to their spots, when Greta sees Bonnie she gets ready for a counter spell but Damon sneaks up behind her and snaps her neck. He then moves to Elena's dead body and carefully lifts her up.
Klaus looks at Bonnie a disbelieving look on his face. "No! You were dead!"
As bonnie continues to chant her spell, Thalia comes out from her space and runs to Stefan's side trying to pull the piece of wood from his back.
"T-Thalia?" he mumbles.
She hushes him and continues on her task trying to ignore both Stefan's grunts of pain and Klaus' screams. No one seems to notice the dark storm clouds appearing in the already dark sky. Thanks to Thalia, seeing her friend in pain was already bad enough but to see the first person in her life to give a damn about her screaming in pain was almost too much just like the time she found out Luke had gone to the enemy side and that she would be fighting against him. The only difference being that this time the pain might be worse.
She finally got the piece of wood out just in time for Damon to place Elena's body next to Stefan's. He places his hand on her gently as if trying to wake her from a dream.
"Elena."
Damon grabs Stefan's shoulder to help him up but when Stefan looks up at him grabbing a hold of his jacket he says. "I need you to get them out of here!" nodding his head towards both Elena and Thalia. When she looks as if she was going to say something back he continues.
"I already got you into enough mess, so please go."
She nodded and stood up.
"What about you?" Damon asked.
"I'm not leaving until he's dead. Go!"
Damon picked up Elena once again and carried her away with Thalia walking close by him, but not before hearing Klaus give out another scream in pain. She flinched at the sound and Damon felt an extremely cold wind push them forwards.
Damon remembered what Thalia had told him of being a child of Zeus. Can Zeus' kids control the winds? He asked himself. He looked down at her, looking at the ground, he swung the arm which wasn't carrying Elena around Thalia's shoulders, upon the contact Thalia looked up at him.
"It's alright, it will all be over soon." He said. She gave him a small smile but he could easily see it was fake. She nodded slightly before bringing her body closer to his and wrapping her arm around his waist and silently they carried on their walk to the witch house.
ABANDONED WITCH HOUSE
They arrive at the witch house safely and Damon lays Elena's body down on a sofa in the parlour.
"If you come back as a vampire, I'll stake you myself. So don't." Damon told the lifeless body and Thalia was able to manage a chuckle at his words. He pushes a strand of hair off her face.
"Because I can't stand the idea of you hating me forever." Thalia looked at his little display.
"You really love her don't you?"
"That obvious?" he chuckled slightly. "What about you, ever been in love?"
"I don't believe in it."
"What? How can you not believe in love? Have you never loved a family member or something?"
"That's a different kind of love, yes I love my friends and such but I don't believe in being in love, I feel like it always blows up in someone's face and they end up getting hurt."
Before Damon could respond to that Alaric and Jeremy burst into the room and stand at the doorway.
"How is she?" Jeremy asked.
Damon continues to stroke Elena's hair which hadn't left it's place when he was talking with Thalia. "I don't know yet."
"What about Jenna?" Alaric asked.
Damon finally looks at them but doesn't say anything, the look on his face says it all. They look at Thalia only to see her staring at the ground.
"No." Alaric says almost to quiet for anyone to hear it.
"I'm sorry, Jeremy." Damon says, turning his face back to Elena.
Jeremy and Alaric stare blankly at Damon, behind them, John comes up from the basement and walks out the door into the front yard. Alaric also moves away into some secluded part of the house.
Thalia's head pops back up when she hears Elena's gasp.
"Elena!" Damon almost shouted, glad to have her back, as a vampire or not he doesn't know yet.
"What happened?" She mumbled, trying to sit up.
"How do you feel?" Damon asked her.
"I feel fine."
Everyone in the room breathed a sigh of relief. John watches the events from outside; he seems at peace as he looks into the woods in front of him shutting his eyes after a second and falling to the ground, dead.
GILBERT HOUSE
Damon, Stefan and Thalia were waiting downstairs in funeral attire. Damon and Stefan in tuxes while Thalia wore a long-sleeved, plain, black dress. Even though they weren't her style she wore it for this occasion but not without her combat boots on her feet.
"We all set?" Stefan asked.
"Yeah. Plenty of room with the Gilbert family plot and I compelled two of the grave diggers to do the dirty work. How's she doing?" Damon replied.
"She lost the only parents she had. She's in shock."
Soon enough they were all set to go and got themselves to the cemetery where they met Bonnie, Caroline and Alaric.
Stefan had his hand on the small of Elena's back as he lead her to the grave site of Jenna and John. She places two out of the four flowers she has on both of their grave plots. Teary eyed she moves in front of the grave of her parents placing the last two roses on their graves.
Elena cries openly and Damon starts to walk away. Elena looks up at him and stands, still crying. Alaric placed a rose on Jenna's grave. He stares sadly down at it before moving away. As he walks away he squeezes Jeremy's arm gently before moving back to the group.
Some distance away from the group is where Damon stands who was joined by Thalia and a few minutes later by Stefan.
"We're going to head back to the house." He informs them
"I think I'll skip the coffee and tea cakes." Damon replies.
"Damon, she needs us now. All of us. Even you Thalia, though you may think not she has come to care about you." She smiles slightly and nods, saying she would come with him.
"And then what's the plan, Stefan? The curse is broken. How does one go about killing an all-powerful wolf vamp and his two-faced older brother?" Changing the topic.
"I have no idea." Stefan answered back.
Damon turns around to look at Stefan. "We need to get an idea. Fast."
"I'm not going to let Elena lose anybody else. "
"I wouldn't make any promises, brother."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Stefan asked.
"Tyler Lockwood bit me." Damon admitted, pulling his sleeve up to show Stefan the bite, which had gotten a lot worse since the last time Thalia saw it. Stefan gets closer to Damon with a look of anguish on his face.
Looking down at the bite, "It's actually more of a nip, really, but there it is." Stefan took his arm and examined his bite. Quickly glancing at, Thalia who had a blank look on her face.
"You knew and you didn't tell me?" he asked her while putting his arm down. She merely shrugged saying it wasn't her place to tell him. Looking back at Damon. "We'll find something. A cure." He assured him.
"There's no cure, Stefan."
Damon and Stefan look across the graveyard, presumably towards Elena. Stefan looks back at Damon. "We kept Elena human, right? We found the way when there was no way. Hey." Damon turns his head and looks at Stefan. "I will do this." Stefan assured him once again.
"You want to do something for me? Keep this from Elena. Last thing she needs is another grave to mourn."
Damon grips Stefan's shoulder, gingerly, and walks away. Stefan and Thalia watch him as he leaves. Thalia looks at Stefan to see the look on his face filled with torment. She places her hand on his arm and rubs it gently as a form of comfort which he was very grateful for.
Thalia threw herself on her bed. Her wet hair all over her pillow. She looked down at her body which was wrapped in her pjs which was an oversized T-shirt and some shorts. Her skin was a bright red from her shower and because of how hard she was scrubbing her body, almost as if she was rubbing something off of her or someone. But all that scrubbing did nothing to remove him off her mind, his screams forever imprinted in her brain.
She was sure if she fell asleep that would be all she heard. She didn't want to see him again but she knew she would. When Stefan had told her he survived her heart both skipped a beat and sunk. She didn't want to face him.
The kind man who had basically saved her childhood almost died this night and she did nothing to stop it. The kind man she thought he was really a monster in disguise that even she, a powerful demigod could never had detected.
It was hard to believe that the man, who had stopped her mother from abusing her, was this monster who killed anyone and everyone who stood in his way, no matter how selfish it was.
She remembers that day, the day her mother had hit her and he stopped her from doing anything else to her seven-year old body.
It was one afternoon where her mother was drunk as always, Klaus wasn't there, he said he had things to do and he would only be there later on the day. And so she waited, patiently and quietly even though she felt as though she burst from all this waiting thanks to her ADHD.
Thalia said something bad about her mother a little too loud which caused the drunken woman to sprint as best she could and grabbing Thalia.
Klaus had just finished his business, and was making his way to the Grace's apartment. He was nearing the door when he heard muffled screaming from down the corridor where their apartment was. He used his vampire hearing to listen in.
"You dare call me that?"
"I am your mother!"
"You bratty child!"
It was then he heard it a loud hit of skin on skin. He used his vampire speed to rush into the apartment to see the tall, blond woman hold Thalia by the shoulder, her hand raised as if to hit the child. A red mark was already stained on her left cheek.
Klaus rushed to them and held the woman's arm before she could her again.
"Now love, I'm sure we can think of more civil way to punish children."
She wrenched her arm away from his grasp, moving away from them towards her bedroom, telling him to go meet her there soon. Klaus sighed and turned towards Thalia. He kneeled down to her height, opening his arms for her to come to him. She did immediately, burying her face into his neck.
"Now why must you always insult her?" he asked her as he rubbed small circles on her back. She only shrugged as he picked her up, her short legs wrapping themselves around him and she laid her right cheek on his shoulder and he walked them to the bathroom where he placed her on the counter next to the sink and proceeded to find some cream for her cheek.
Once he found some he massaged it her burning cheek, she flinched slightly at the cold cream but leaned into his touch when she found out it helped with the throbbing pain.
"Can you at least promise me to not insult her when I'm not around?"
"I can't help it." She mumbled, her tiny arms crossing in front of her undeveloped chest. He thought about how beautiful she would become in later years and how she would defiantly have some boys around her.
He gave her a small smile before wrapping his hand in her dark hair and bringing his lips to her forehead. The action was strange to Thalia as no one had ever kissed her in any way. The strange display of affection made her feel warm anyway and so she leaned into him letting the warmth take over her body.
"At least try for me, ok?" He said as he pulled away.
Thalia sighed deeply at the memory. Staring up at the ceiling, she got startled when she heard a voice.
"I guess this is a bad time?"
She looked to her side to see the blond head of her best friend in a misty white veil. She smiled at her and turned her body towards the iris message.
"I always have time for you Annie." She said, Annabeth frowned slightly at the nickname but her face straightened out enough.
They talked for a while and when Annabeth asked if anything was wrong Thalia just replied with, 'someone from my past just showed up'. Annabeth told her she could talk to her if she wanted but Thalia said it was fine and she could deal with it. With a smile Thalia's hand went through the fog and the image of her best friend drifted away.
Once again she turned her attention to the ceiling and fell asleep and of course just like she predicted she heard his screams all night long.
