Ok thanks guys to all the title ideas, I'll be choosing one soon. Thank you all for the reviews and for the new followers.

Smoky Mountains, Tennessee

They didn't travel as much once they directions from Ray. They were now walking in the mountains trying to find the pack, Stefan was carrying an unconscious Ray on his shoulder.

Klaus glanced at Stefan, "You ok? Is Ray getting heavy?" he asked.

"I'm fine." Stefan replied. He hadn't said much of anything and he wouldn't even look at Thalia, she guessed he must of found out about her and Klaus and was now ignoring her.

"You sure about that? You know, we've been walking for quite some time now. If you need some water or a little sit-down..." Klaus droned on but was interrupted by Stefan.

"You know, I get that we're, uh... we're stuck together, but if we could maybe just skip the chitchat, it'd be great."

"So much brooding. Your self-loathing is suffocating you, my friend."

"Maybe it's 'cause I'm a little tired of hunting werewolves. We've been at it all summer."

"Thanks to our pal Ray, we found ourselves a pack. There." Klaus finished.

"Oh thank the gods!" Thalia exclaimed once they found the pack. Her energy was soon fading and she felt as if she'd drop if she walked any longer.

Stefan stepped forwards towards the pack and set Ray down the floor. Everyone turned towards Stefan and a woman rushed forward to Ray. "Ray! Oh, my God. What's going on? Who are you?"

Klaus and Thalia both stepped forward, in line with Stefan.

"The important question is who am I. Please forgive the intrusion. My name is Klaus."

"You're the hybrid." The woman said, beginning to back away.

Klaus started to smile; Thalia really loved his smile but not at times like this. Sometimes his smile can be kind and playful like the one she was used to see when she was younger but this one was something else, it showed cruelness, something she still couldn't get used to seeing.

"You've heard of me. Fantastic."

All three were now sitting, the werewolves watching them especially Klaus.

"It's fascinating, actually... A werewolf who isn't beholden to the moon, a vampire who doesn't burn in the sun. A true hybrid." Klaus explained to the wolves, just as he finished Ray woke up, gasping for air. "Excellent timing, Ray. Very dramatic."

"What's happening to me?" Ray stammered out.

Klaus turned to his side. "Stefan?" Stefan then stood up walking up to the werewolves again.

"Are any of you human? Your friend here needs human blood to complete his transition to vampire. If he doesn't get it, he will die."

Klaus was now standing too. "Doesn't take much, just a sip. Anyone? A boyfriend, a girlfriend, along for the ride?" he turned towards a man. "You." He rushed towards him, fangs already showing and bit the man on his forearm, pushing him towards Stefan, who caught him effortlessly and threw him to the ground in front of Ray. The woman from earlier tried to protest but Klaus grabbed her at her throat, enabling her from speaking.

"If you don't drink it, Ray, I will. Problem is I don't know how to stop." Stefan said already bending his head down to the bleeding body beneath him.

Klaus looks at the woman. "It's the new order, sweetheart. You join us, or you die."

The woman looked at Thalia who was still sat down watching Klaus. "Are you just going to watch him kill us?" the confrontation set Thalia aback. There was nothing she could do to help these people and that made her feel bad, really bad. Here she was worrying about the promise Klaus made her when all these people were going to be forced into being hybrids. There really was nothing she could do, was there? She asked herself but before she could make any sort of reply Klaus took the woman's attention away from her.

"I asked you a question." His grip became tighter as he spoke each word.

"I'd rather die than be a vampire." She replied.

"Wrong choice." Klaus bit his own arm and forced the woman to drink it as Ray dived into the man beneath him and started to drink.

"She'll thank me for that later. Heh." He looked away from the woman, smiling but then his eyes caught Thalia's, she had a look of distraught as she watched him and smile slid off his face, he wanted nothing more than to go to her and comfort her but he knew he couldn't just yet, he had to finish what he started. He then killed the woman and turned to the rest of the pack.

"Ok, who's next?" his eyes turned yellow and his fangs could be seen.

Klaus gave his blood to the human and compelled him. "There. Good as new. Now you relax, ok, mate? We're gonna need you when the rest of them wake up."

"They're dead. They're all dead." Ray stuttered, his shoulders shaking.

"Ah, he's through his transition. He should be feeling better soon." Klaus said, looking over Ray.

"So is this your master plan? Build an army of hybrid slaves?" Stefan asked him.

"No, not slaves. Soldiers, comrades."

"For what war, might I ask?"

"Oh, you don't arm yourself after war has been declared, Stefan. You build your army so big that no one ever dares pick a fight."

Both men carried on talking but Thalia zoned them out as she moved to sit next to Ray who was still shaking uncontrollably. Thalia wasn't sure what to do or what to say and so settled on placing a hand on his arm as a form of comfort, she was never really good at any of this sort of stuff. Ray didn't move away from her and so she let her hand stay on his lower arm.

She turned her head towards the boys who were still speaking but then she felt Ray start to shake even more, she turned towards him once more to see his eyes start to bleed.

"Boys." She said trying to get their attention.

All she heard was Stefan laughing. She didn't turn her face away Ray and she didn't know what the men were doing and could only hear them.

"Boys." She said louder.

"That's why you're, uh... you're keeping me around? To witness my attitude adjustment?" She heard Stefan ask Klaus.

Thalia was getting angry neither men were listening to her and that was bugging her.

"You'll know why I'm keeping you around when I've decided that I want you to know." Klaus told Stefan before Thalia snapped at the two.

"Boys!" she shouted now turning to them, they turned towards her to see the same thing she was just looking at. Klaus forward and holds Ray's head in his hands looking at him.

"Something's wrong." He mumbled.

"That shouldn't be happening, should it?"Stefan asked.

"Well, obviously." Klaus announced.

Ray was shaking violently now and his eyes were still bleeding. Thalia tried to clean most of it away with some old rag she had found and had soaked in water but no matter how much she cleaned his face more trails of blood ran down his face almost like crimson tears.

"You said it was gonna feel better. Why doesn't it feel better?" Ray asked from beside Thalia.

"Some master race." Stefan muttered rolling his eyes.

"Lose the attitude." Klaus told him, as he did the woman from before woke up gasping for air just as Ray had done when he woke up.

"Derek, come feed your girlfriend." Derek moved forward but then Ray jump his feet knocking Thalia off the tree stump where they were sat on and made some more jumps before dashing into the forest. Klaus turned to Stefan. "Go get him."

Stefan moved after Ray into the forest. Klaus stepped towards Thalia offering his hand to her to help her her feet. Thalia took it and started brushing herself off.

"Are you alright?" He asked her.

"Yeah I'm fine." There was a silence between the two before Thalia broke it. "Hey Klaus can you answer me something?" She asked looking up at him.

"Sure." He said.

She continued to look up at him as she spoke. "Why did you only ask or compel Derek to give his blood?" He looked down softly at her before he spoke.

"Because I care too much for you to let you get hurt, especially if I'm the one hurting you." His small speech of affection warmed her up so much that she pushed herself toward him in a hug. He wrapped his own arms around her and held her tightly against him. They were in a messed up place in a messed up world but now they were ok with just being in each other's embrace.

Klaus soon left Thalia hoping she'll be okay for a short time while he went to go find Stefan.

Thalia waited at the campsite, soon all the werewolves now hybrids woke up.

Soon Klaus arrived but when he had all the other's eye had started bleeding just like Ray.

It was no night time and none of the hybrids were successful. Klaus got a hold of Derek as he walked past. "Bad news, my friend. End of the road for you." His fangs start to come out and he's about to bite into the man's flesh when Thalia screamed at him to stop.

He stopped looking up at Thalia who stood in front of him. "Please just let him go." She started. "Compel him to turn away and forget about all of this. Please, Klaus." He watches her and then slowly moves his mouth away from Derek's neck and then proceeded to compel the man as Thalia had asked.

Thalia thanked him and turned around to find Derek's girlfriend looking at her. Slowly her eyes went up and down Thalia's body before she nodded in gratitude.

Both Thalia and Klaus looked at the werewolves all with bleeding eyes walking around almost like zombies. And that was when they attacked. Rabid werewolves from here and there came out looking for a bite out of them. Klaus tried to move towards Thalia so that he could protect her but found himself unable to when two werewolves jumped on him and even though he thought them off more and more came back jumping on him.

When he was finally rid of the werewolves he looked at Thalia making sure she was okay only to see her standing in the middle of a bunch of dead werewolves with what seemed steam coming out of them. He saw a spear in hand and momentarily saw it spark with electricity before the thing collapsed into Thalia's hand.

He walked to her and grabbed her hand which held the magical disappearing spear which now looked like an ordinary mace can. He looked up at her face and she saw his look of confusion before telling him that it was a magical weapon to throw the humans off and was also much lighter to carry around. Klaus was about to ask if she had any other magical weapons when he noticed the large, bleeding gash on her stomach.

"You're bleeding."

She looked down and looked at the scratch as if she hadn't noticed it before he pointed it out, it also seemed she was more frustrated with the fact that her shirt was ripped.

Klaus moved his wrist up to his mouth and bit himself, he then moved his bloody wrist towards Thalia who stepped away from him, placing a hand over her mouth.

"Thalia, you're hurt, let me heal you."

"No."

"What?" Klaus was confused, why wouldn't Thalia let him heal her injury? He thought to himself.

"Look I respect you enough to let go off in search of werewolf packs to make your army so what you could at least do for me is accept the fact that I do not want to be healed by vampire blood."

Klaus moved his wrist away from her and felt himself healing. He watched her for a while before quickly picking her up, one hand under her knees the other underneath her back and carried her to seat and went in search of a first aid kit.

When Stefan came back Thalia's wound was already bandaged and she was now sleeping in a sitting position on the floor with her back resting against a tree stump. All around her were the dead bodies of the werewolves.

Stefan came back carrying Ray, who was also dead.

"They went rabid. Some of them, I killed, some, Thalia killed." Stefan could wich ones were the ones Thalia had killed by the way their clothes were singed thanks to her powers it made Stefan wonder if she had told Klaus of what she was. "The others just... Bled out. In the end... They're all dead."

Klaus looked like he wanted to yell but then he saw the unconscious body on the floor, sleeping her wound off and he thought better and instead settled on just grunting angrily.

"I did everything I was told! I should be able to turn them. I broke the curse. I killed a werewolf. I killed a vampire. I killed the doppelgänger." Klaus was so focused on trying not to shout that he didn't see the uncomfortable look on Stefan's face.

"You look like hell." Klaus said at last.

"Last I checked, I'm dying... And you don't want to heal me. I had to take him out. I didn't have a choice. I failed you. I'm sorry. Do what you have to do."

"It should have worked." Klaus muttered as he reached for a bottle of beer. The bottle was empty and so Klaus bit his own wrist and let his blood drip into the bottle which he then gave to Stefan.

"Bottoms up. We're leaving. It appears you and Thalia are the only comrades I have left." Stefan drank the blood then threw the bottled to the side as Klaus went over to Thalia's body and carried her back to the truck.
