*spoiler to chapter, kind of, please read once finished the chapter.* Hey guys just wanted to warn you that even though this chapter has a bit of Percabeth in it, it is about as much as you will see of the other pjo characters, yes maybe Thalia and them meet up from time to time or maybe just iris messaging but that will be it and please don't ask for Nico to appear because I highly doubt that he and Thalia are friends.
Hope you enjoy the chap, and I will try to update soon but I have some exam mocks coming up and I need to revise for them but without further ado, I give you,
Disturbing Behaviour
They were back at the bar; Stefan and Rebekah were getting ready to leave so that they could 'buy' some new clothes. Klaus had pulled Thalia aside to talk to her.
"I'm sorry, I overreacted." He apologised, now that he had some time to think about it he realised that she had every right not to tell him as he too kept things from her.
"It's alright, I'm sorry for not telling you sooner." She looked up at him.
"I'm gonna take Rebekah out shopping, are you coming?" He asked her.
She wrinkled her nose slightly, "Never been one for shopping really."
Klaus chuckled slightly, shaking his head. "Well alright, just stay in the bar. I'll bring you a new shirt."
And off they went to buy Rebekah new clothes while Thalia stayed at the bar waiting for their return.
Klaus and Rebekah had arrived back first and they sat around waiting for as Gloria sat at a table chanting a spell to locate the necklace.
When got inside he immediately passed Thalia a grey t-shirt, which she took gratefully and excused herself to go and put in on.
"What's your deal with this girl?" Rebekah asked her brother.
He didn't even look at her when he spoke, "She's special." He muttered.
"Does that mean you fancy her?"
Klaus quickly turned to his sister, "What no, of course not." He protested a light blush staining his cheeks which could only be seen if you were standing incredibly close, which thankfully Rebekah wasn't in Klaus' opinion.
Stefan entering the bar stopped Rebekah from asking her brother anymore questions.
"You left us." She accused him.
"Yeah, sorry. Retail therapy was making my head explode." Stefan said.
"Tell me about it." Klaus muttered from beside Rebekah.
"Where's Thalia?" Stefan asked, looking around the room, Rebekah opened her mouth to answer him when said girl walked in.
"Here." The grey top she now wore was a little too tight for her, Klaus didn't know her size so he guessed, she already had such a small frame he didn't think the shirt would be that tight on her, but now he was very much regretting buying it, he would rather have her in a bigger shirt than a smaller, because this shirt showed off her chest and he could see the outline of her breasts perfectly, her could also see the outline of the bandage across her stomach but Klaus was trying his hardest not to look at her because he knew if he did he would be looking at her chest.
Stefan not paying mind to Thalia's clothing continued to look around the room, finally spotting Gloria at the table.
"What's she doing?"
"She's failing." Klaus answered him, barely noticing Thalia sitting beside him, risking looking at her from the corner of his eye, hoping she wouldn't notice.
"It's hard to find something when you don't have anything to go on." Gloria said from her seat.
"So use me. I only wore it for a thousand years." Rebekah walked to the table.
"See? Now this one offers a solution."
Rebekah sat herself on the table. "All right, give me your hand, sweetheart." She gave her, her hand.
"She's, uh, she's looking for the necklace, huh?" Stefan asked.
Gloria carried on holding Rebekah's hand for a while. "I can sense something."
Stefan seemed a bit worried.
Gloria dropped Rebekah's hand suddenly and looked at the others. "I found it."
"So where is it?" Rebekah asked, her voice heightening.
"It doesn't work like that, doll. I get images. There's a girl with her friends..."
"Yes, a dead girl with dead friends, if I don't get my necklace back." Rebekah answered her.
"Wow you weren't kidding, she really does have a bad temper." Thalia whispered to Klaus, who chuckled slightly and quickly looked at his sister in case Thalia to him. Rebekah seemed to be too angry to hear Thalia's remark and continued listening to Gloria.
"Well, I'll have to dive back in to get the details."
"So dive." Klaus said moving from his seat, partly so that he'd stop staring at Thalia, and leaned on the table Gloria was working on.
"I need more time. And space. You're harshing my ju-ju."
"We can wait." Klaus said, not moving away.
"I'm sure you can. But that's not what I asked."
"Hey. Hey, you know, why don't we just come back later. I'm hungry anyway. I'll let you pick who we eat." Stefan offered as Klaus moved away from Gloria.
Klaus looks at Rebekah and Stefan and finally at Thalia.
"Thalia I don't suppose you'd like to join us." But his offer fell short as he saw her in her seat on her phone, texting someone.
"No I won't, some friends are in the area and I'm gonna go see them."
"Excuse me, you're what?" Klaus looked beyond mad.
"You don't control me Klaus and I'm getting pretty hungry myself, plus don't worry I'll come back." His look didn't change so she added, "I promise on the river styx." Thunder was heard even though it was a sunny day. With that Thalia walked out the bar and down to the nearby diner where Annabeth and Percy were sat in.
She met them with bright smiles and hugs and they sat down at a booth and ordered their food. Settling with their burgers, Thalia took a big bite of hers, not having eaten any proper food the last couple days made her extremely hungry.
They made small talk and Annabeth and Percy had some couple moments which Thalia turned her head away from.
They didn't tell Thalia why they were in Chicago but then again she didn't ask.
Annabeth and Percy talked about how college was going and Annabeth talked a bit more about architecture before Thalia left to go meet the others at Gloria's bar. On her way back all she could think about was how old they were now and how young she was, even though she was supposed to be five years older than them but there they were, in their early 20s. She really hated the affects of being a hunter, that was one of the reasons she left, she didn't want to watch her friends grow old and then die while she was 15 forever.
When Thalia walked in the bar she was met with Katherine, Stefan and a dead Gloria on the floor who was being wrapped up in a sheet.
Both vampires look up at her. Thalia was looking down at Gloria and then up at the two. Stefan opened his mouth to explain but Thalia held up her hand.
"I don't wanna know." She dismissed it, really not caring. The two vampires just carried on as if she never entered the room.
"I've been thinking about your diabolical plan." Katherine started.
"Oh. Do tell." Stefan answered.
"You have a diabolical plan?" Thalia asked but the question fell to deaf ears.
"Well, you must know that Klaus is too paranoid to ever fully trust you. But the sister, she loves you like it was yesterday. She's the easier mark. But you can't just pretend to care, because Klaus will know better, so you do the opposite. You bond with him; make her feel left out. That will only make her want you more."
"Oh! So you mean, I'm, uh, I'm taking a page out of the Katherine Pierce playbook." Stefan summarised.
"The only question is why, Stefan? I mean, I get it, you want to keep Klaus away from Mystic Falls, but...What else do you expect to get from it?"
"You know what's funny? You keep talking to me like I actually trust you enough to tell you anything."
"Oh, come on, Stefan, we're beyond that. I saved you from Hilda the high voodoo priestess."
Thalia chuckled slightly at Katherine's description of the witch.
"Ok. I knew them, back in the twenties. They were running from someone. Someone who scared them." Stefan answered her.
"A hunter. I heard stories about him centuries ago."
"Don't you want to know why an original vampire who can't be killed is afraid of a vampire Hunter?"
"If you're planning on making a move against Klaus... I want in." Katherine demanded.
"That's good. It's good to want things, Katherine." Stefan said, all the while Thalia's head was moving back and forth on the vampires.
"Stefan..."
"Katherine. I'm in this alone. If you're looking for a diabolical partner in crime, I suggest you look elsewhere." Stefan then slung Gloria over his shoulder and walked out the room while grabbing Thalia's arm and dragging her with him.
They were back in the warehouse, walking past the coffins when Stefan stopped in front of one. His hand reaches out and touches it but he quickly removes it.
"You're back. Finally. Nik went to check on the witch." Rebekah looks at the coffin. "Dreary, isn't it? The family cargo."
"Hmm. Why don't you undagger them?" Stefan asked.
"Because he would hunt me down and kill me. He's a vindictive little bastard, my brother."
"But you still care about him. Why?" Stefan asked.
"Well, I hated him for a long time. It was exhausting." She sat down on the coffin and Stefan sits next to her while Thalia decided to stand.
"You know, when I met you two, you were both on the run." Stefan started.
"Also exhausting." She sighed.
"Who were you running from?"
"What do you mean?" With that answer Thalia knew Rebekah had started suspecting something.
"Last night I saw you, there was a man looking for you. You both seemed afraid. I just... I wouldn't think Klaus would be afraid of anybody."
"No one in this world is truly fearless, Stefan. Not even Niklaus." That Thalia already knew because he must have been afraid of Zeus for him to run away like that.
"Who was that man?" Thalia really wanted to tell Stefan to stop talking but she knew if she did it would make it even more suspicious.
"I can't. Please." She then stood up from the coffin, facing Stefan. "If Nik knew we were talking about this, he would..."
"No, no, no, I'm sorry." He said getting up as well. "Just forget I asked. Ok?"
"He told me about the girl you loved. The one that died. He also told me that you're only with him because he saved your brother."
"It's true." Stefan nodded.
"I think he secretly admires that about you. You'd sacrifice anything for family. Don't tell him I told you that."
"Your secret... Is safe with me." Thalia noted how they were getting closer, maybe Stefan was taking a page out of Katherine's playbook, she thought.
Rebekah than leaned up and kissed Stefan, to which Thalia looked away from. "Do you think you'll ever love anyone like you loved that girl?"
"One day, maybe." He responded.
"I can always tell when you're lying, Stefan." Thalia's eyebrows furrowed when Rebekah moved away from him.
"What? I'm not..."
"Don't bother. Your kiss already gave you away." Leaving Thalia to wonder if a kiss can really give away that much. She didn't think on it for long because Klaus entered.
"Gloria's gone. She's cleared out. We need to find a new witch immediately." He stops moving and looks at Rebekah and Stefan, Thalia noticed he didn't even so much as look her way; did I offend him when I left? She asked herself but what she didn't know was that Klaus didn't want to look at her because he was sure he couldn't stop himself from staring at her, well chest.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"Something's wrong. He was asking about Michael. He's not with us, Nik. I can sense it." Rebekah told him.
"She's wrong. Klaus..." Stefan tried to tell him but Klaus rushed at him, Thalia tried to call out his name and tell him to stop but Rebekah caught her and stopped her from moving any closer to the boys.
When Stefan comes to he notices he is in a dark, small room but upon further inspection he realises he is in the back of the truck with the coffins. He looks up and sees Klaus there, looking at him. He also notices Thalia standing next to him who rushes towards Stefan to help him up when she notices he's awake.
"Just give me a chance to explain myself, ok?"
"No need. I'm not mad, I'm just curious. Rebekah seems to think you're holding something. A piece of your old life. The thing is, she's got flawless instincts, borderline supernatural. So I thought I would check it out. See for myself what it is you've been hiding." Klaus opens up the truck to reveal that they are in Mystic Falls. "Welcome back to Mystic Falls, Stefan."
