Life during a war
Chapter 35: Home
Two weeks later and my mum is nearly fully healed and it is time we all head back home. To Dauntless. Which is good because I really hate this place and I know everyone else does as well. Things have been really peaceful here in the Bureau. With everyone losing their memory not much has happened. But we haven't seen David or Matthew around. I don't know if that means we have something to worry about or not but hey, things are okay now and that's all that matters to me. It's weird seeing Marcus, Caleb and Peter be so nice as well, they walk around helping everyone. They have also lost their memory, which is a good thing.
Right now we are packing everything we need. Hana is also taking some things just in case I go into labour or something on the journey home. I am thirty two weeks pregnant but it is entirely possible considering everything that has happened recently. And I'm terrified that I will go into premature labour. That probably isn't helping.
Amar, George and Zoe are coming with us, to Dauntless. Amar and George because it is their home. Zoe, probably because she hates this place.
An hour later and we are on the road back to our city. Amar and George are in the front of the large truck, Amar's driving. The rest of us are in the back.
"So, do you guys want to have a little celebratory party when we get home? Maybe a little Candor or Dauntless? Never have I ever? Bed, wed or dead?" Uriah asks.
"I'm sorry Uriah but I'm exhausted, all I really want is sleep. Maybe another time." I tell him.
"Okay. Tomorrow?" He asks, hopefully.
We all look at each other and nod. Well, except Zoe, who is confused.
"What are those games?" She questions.
"Well, for Candor or Dauntless…" We sit there for like five minutes, waiting for Zeke to finish explaining the games to our new friend.
"When is the meeting that everyone has to attend for voting the new leaders?" I ask Tobias.
"Well, I called Johanna this morning and told her we are coming back today. She said she would arrange it for next week so we have time to settle in." He replies.
"Right, so it's two leaders for every faction, right?"
He nods.
"I reckon they'll pick you to lead Dauntless." I tell him.
"No, they won't."
"Yeah, they will. They love you. They elected you leader when we were in Candor."
"They also wanted you to be leader when we were in Candor. So, maybe they'll elect both of us. That way, we'll get a bigger apartment and more points so we can raise this little one better than we could on standard pay." He places a hand on my bump and rubs it gently.
"Yeah, but all I've done is be pregnant. You're more likely to be elected than I am."
"But, they love us two together. And you've done a lot more than be pregnant. You've been our voice of reason. You've helped us a lot. Also, you're a Dauntless prodigy, just like me. You only have six fears, of course they're going to elect you."
"I seriously doubt that. But, if you say so."
"I do, say so."
"Hey. What are you lovebirds talking about?" Christina asks us, breaking us away from our conversation.
"Just stuff." I answer.
"Please do not tell me you're talking about sex." Uriah says, alarmed.
"No, Uriah, we're not talking about sex." I reassure him.
"Good." He breathes a sigh of relief.
"How many times have you two had sex anyway?" Zeke asks.
I look down, blushing.
"Zeke, why do you always have to ask embarrassing questions?" says Tobias.
"I'm just interested in how many times it took you to knock her up." Zeke counters.
"Fine then, we've only done it once. Please tell me how many times you and Shauna have had sex." I reply, putting emphasis on the 'it'.
They all look at us, shocked. Well, my mum doesn't, neither does Hana or Zoe.
"One time is all it takes, guys, seriously."
Well, this is awkward.
…
Two hours later and Tobias and I are back in our apartment in Dauntless. We are sitting on the sofa, watching a film. I'm lying on my left side and my head is in his lap. His arm is draped gently over my waist, his hand resting on my stomach. We sit in a comfortable silence. The telly making the only sound in the room.
It doesn't take me long to fall into a peaceful sleep.
Hey Ravens, sorry for the short chapter, and for the wait.
So, I am sorry to say that this story only has a few more chapters left, it will end after Tris gives birth to her son. But, I will be writing a sequel for this story, if you guys want me to anyway. It will be set about two or three years after this story is set and I promise you it will be interesting.
I will update again when I can.
Please review!
