He who is overly attached to his family members experiences fear and sorrow, for the root of all grief is attachment. Thus one should discard attachment to be happy.-Chanakya

Amber's eyes opened the next morning, the sun was up, that was a given. The room was bright, and her eyes were taking a moment to get adjusted to the sudden light. Amber looked next to her to see her bed was empty. She sighed to herself, thinking that everything that had happened the night before was a dream. She shifted over to where she thought Spencer was sleeping and, she laid her head down on the pillow. She turned to her side and took in a deep breath, planning to get some more sleep. But the pillow, it smelled of Spencer, Amber quickly leapt out of the bed and ran to the bedroom door. She turned the knob and tiptoed to Spencer's room that was across the hall. She quickly and quietly turned the knob and opened the door. She peered in and saw someone sleeping in the big king sized bed. Their hair was messy and they were very tall and thin. Their face wasn't facing Amber, it was facing the wall, so she couldn't tell if it was him.

"Spence?" She asked, as she entered the room.

"Yes?" he answered.

Amber let out a long sigh of relief. "I thought you were sleeping in my room,"

"I was," he said as he sat up and stretched. "I came back in here when you fell asleep. So that your dad couldn't walk in seeing me sleeping next to you this morning."

"Aww,that was sweet." Amber said with a smile on her face."I had a weird dream last night," She announced as she watched him get up and get ready for the day, they were going to spend the day with Amber's family.

"Really?" he asked, sounding worried, but continued to run around the room to get ready.

"Yeah, I dreamt that everything that has happened never happened, it was like a dream inside of another dream. I couldn't move, someone was standing right next to my bed," She described as she walked over to Spencer's bed and sat down.

"Well, it could mean it feels like someone is holding you back." Spencer said as he kneeled down next to his luggage and dug through the clothes.

"I thought you didn't believe in dream analysis,"

Spencer stopped, and looked over at her, "Freud has been discredited..."

"'But Jung still has his merits,'" She quoted, a smile on her face.

Spencer lightly chuckled as he looked down at the floor then quickly looked back up at Amber. "You remember me saying that?"

Amber nodded, " You said it when you were helping me with my psychology,"

Spencer chuckled once more as he dug through his suitcase. "I'm glad you remember that, I thought you never listened to me." He mumbled.

Amber shot up from the bed and walked over to him, "why wouldn't I listen to you?" She questioned. "I love listening to you."

Spencer could feel himself blush as he pulled out a shirt and pair of pants to wear for the day. He stood up and there was amber, standing there in all of her beauty. She looked amazingly stunning in the mornings, her eyes were wide and glowing green. Her face was pale and her lips where a bubblegum pink color. "Well good I...I'm glad you love listening to me," Spencer said as he set down his clothes on the dresser next to him. He moved over to Amber and wrapped his arms around her waist. Just then, Amber's phone buzzed in her hand. They both sighed as they pulled apart from each other. Amber looked at her phone, it was a text...from Luke. "Who is it?" Spencer asked. amber looked up from her phone to see Spencer pulling off his shirt. Amber blushed and quickly looked back down at her phone. She spun around to face the door, to give Spencer some privacy, in which he didn't feel the need to announce.

"It's Rossi," Amber lied. "He wants to know if we are having a big dinner for the team." She wasn't really lying, Rossi really had texted her earlier to see if she was having a dinner for the team.

Nothing, in texas visiting family, you?

Amber quickly typed up her response and hit send. She clutched her phone tighly in her hand, "Are you done getting ready?" She asked.

"Yes," He said. Amber spun around to see him in a white button up shirt, a black tie and black pants.

Amber smiled at him, her heart filled with joy at the sight of him. "You look so handsome,"

Spencer blushed as he looked down at the floor, tucked some hair behind his ears and looked back up. "Thanks," he mumbled.

"No problem," she said as she walked over to him, gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and headed toward the door. "I better go get ready," she said as she opened the door, Spencer nodded at her and she shut the door behind her. Amber turned to face the hallway to head to her room, but there was her father, a mean scowl on his face.

"What do you think you are doing?" He growled.

"I was just seeing what Spencer was wearing today," she lied.

Her father glared at her. "No you weren't. You two were fooling around, that's why you are wearing the same thing you wore to bed last night,"

"How do you know what I wore to bed?" Amber questioned.

Her father lightly laughed, "I have known you your whole life, sleep shorts and a band tee shirt are what you always wear to bed."

"I just went in there to talk to him, we didn't do anything," Amber spat, her anger was growing, and her blood was boiling.

"I knew I should have never let you move out."

"Oh, so I could stay here my whole life? Never have a boyfriend, never go out, so you could control me until the end of time? No thanks," Amber said as she brushed past him. She walked to her room and slammed the door. She walked over to her bed and sat down. There was a huge lump in her throat, she was trying to keep herself from crying and she now somewhat regretted this visit. After a few moments of trying to regain her composure,,she set her phone down next to her,she got up off her bed, walked over to her suitcase and grabbed some clothes to wear. She decided on jean shorts and a plain grey tee shirt. Her phone started to buzz while she put on her shirt, she flattened out her shirt to make the creases go down, but no such luck. She sighed as she walked over to the bed and grabbed her cell phone. It was another text from Luke.

ah what made you go visit them now?

Amber pursed her lips, did she really want to tell him that she brought Spencer down here to meet her parents? He would know things were serious.

To:Luke

Time:9:20 am

Oh, nothing really. I just thought I'd visit since it's summer.

Amber set her phone on her side table and started to get ready. She took a quick shower, dried off, scrambled to find something to wear and threw those on. She gathered her hair in her hands and put her hair up in a messy bun. She quickly put some makeup on to at least not look so bland. Amber walked out of the bathroom, grabbed her cell phone of the table and put it in her back pocket. She walked down the hall, into the foyer and into the kitchen. Spencer was sitting at the kitchen table, sipping coffee while he read the sunday paper. A cup of coffee was sitting next to him, Amber could see the heat rising off of the coffee. "Is that mine?" She asked as she walked over to the table.

"Yes," Spencer said with a smile as picked up his cup of coffee and took a sip. Amber walked over to Spencer, leaned over and gave him a peck on the cheek.

Amber stood up, pulled out the chair next to Spencer and sat down next to Spencer. Amber took a sip of her coffee and smiled. She set down her cup and leaned over to Spencer. She gave him another peck on the cheek. He turned his head to look at her and her big brown eyes were looking back at him. "Thank you for making my coffee,"

"You're welcome," he said as gazed at into her eyes. " I...I know how you don't like it to be too strong when it's homemade."

Amber nodded. "You know me all too well," She said as their noses touched.

"Well, good morning," They heard. The two of them quickly pulled apart to look up. It was Amber's brother, standing the the doorway of the kitchen.

A huge smile landed on Amber's face as she shot up out of her chair to greet him. "Dean!" She exclaimed as she walked over to give him a gave him a quick hug, once they pulled apart they started to catch up. He was very tall, just as tall as Spencer. He stood tall and confident, to be honest, Amber and her brother didn't look like they were even related. Dean had dark hair like her, but other than that they didn't look like they were brother and sister. He did have blue eyes and olive skin like their mom. Spencer watched as Amber and her brother talked, Spencer cleared his throat and Amber looked over at him. "Oh right," She said with a giggle. "This is my brother, Dean."Spencer pursed his lips together, Dean was looking at him with narrow eyes. He didn't look too happy. He must have learned that look from their father, Spencer thought. "Dean," Amber said as she turned to him. "This is Spencer," Amber beamed as she looked back at Spencer. She smiled at him and walked back over to her seat. She sat down and wrapped her arms around his right upper arm. Dean stood there for a moment, a scowl still locked on Spencer.

"So," Dean began as he walked over to the table, his eyes still fixed on Spencer. "you're Spencer," Dean pulled out a chair across from them and sat down. "you're the FBI agent?" he laughed.

"Dean," Amber hissed. "stop," She glared at her brother. Amber unwrapped her arms from Spencer's, she pushed out her chair from the table and stood up. She snatched her coffee cup up from the table and walked over to the coffee pot. Spencer sat at the table, he was sitting up straight, looking Dean right in the eyes.

"I am an FBI agent," Spencer said. "I also have three PHDs, two BAs and have put many people behind bars," Dean sat back in his chair and pursed his lips. "so,you're smart. Big deal," He snorted. Amber rolled her eyes as she grabbed a coffee cup out of the cupboard. She then grabbed the coffee cup and poured the coffee into the cup, the coffee was still warm. She picked up the cup at the Handel and walked the cup over to Dean. "thanks Sis," he said, he then took a sip and set down the cup afterwords. His piercing blue eyes never leaving Spencer. Amber walked back over to her seat, her hand lightly gracing Spencers back as she sat down.

"He's just being a jerk," Amber said. She then stuck her tongue out at her brother. Dean stuck his tongue out right back at her. "don't listen to him." She mumbled as she leaned over and kissed Spencer on the cheek. Dean made some gagging noises, and Amber looked over at him. Dean started to look around, as though he had not been making the noises. "So, what are you doing here?" Amber asked her brother.

"What? I'm not allowed to visit my parent's to see my little sister?" He asked as he took another sip of his coffee.

"No, not with Spencer here. Shouldn't you be with Jen and the kids?" Amber asked back, her tone was serious but there was a bit of annoyance in it.

Dean was silent for a moment, the longest he had been silent since he had arrived there. "Jen is at work and her parents are watching the kids."

"Don't even get me started on her parents," Kim announced as she walked into the kitchen. She walked over to her son, she kissed the top of his head and then walked over to the sink.

Amber couldn't help but feel that Dean was up to something, that he was there just to drive Spencer away, and that wasn't going to work. She knew it had to have been her father's idea, if he couldn't drive Spencer away, Dean could. She wished her family would just approve of him so that they could move on. Amber bit the bottom of her lip, she then drew in a deep sigh and was ready to get the day over with. No matter how painful it would be.
