Summary: She was always good at hiding. Hiding objects, people, herself and her emotions. Hiding her emotions to the extent that even she couldn't realize them. She preferred it this way, because this way she never needed to tell people everything and more importantly, trust them. He was always a bit ahead of everyone, running from his emotions. Busy with his work, his training, his duties, he hardly ever had time to think, let alone do simple things such as smiling, laughing, having fun and enjoying life. When these two crash, and are forced to trust each other when faced against a mutual enemy, will they manage? Or will they go down before that? Read to find out...
Chapter 2
Reader's P.O.V
"Saaaa-kuuu-raaaa!! Please, please wear this! I made it especially for you! I was up most of the night, and I haven't slept in ages! First, I was up preparing for your party, then I was at the party, after that I was up last night making the dress…so basically I haven't gotten any sleep, and it's all for you but you won't even wear this dress I've made for you! Please Sakura, or else I will-", whined Tomoyo, but I think you already know the reason why.
"Okay, okay I'll wear it Tomoyo! God!" After listening to half an hour of Tomoyo's whining, Sakura had finally agreed to wear the dress Tomoyo had made for her. When she finally saw it, she had to admit it was pretty, and it would go with her eyes.
The dress was green, nearly the same colour as her eyes. It was knee-length, and had thin straps. There was a light green belt around her waist, and small green jewels decorating the whole dress in random places. It fitted Sakura beautifully, as if it was made for her. Which it was.
After putting it on, Sakura started getting ready for the 'friend's outing' that Tomoyo had asked Sakura to come. There's nothing wrong with that, right? Except when asking her, Tomoyo had an evil / dreamy look on her face, so there was everything wrong with the outing.
A pink bracelet with cherry blossom charms, a little pink lip-gloss and some mascara finished Sakura's preparation. She had decided to leave her hair down, as she was having a pretty good hair day. She then turned around to see Tomoyo, looking equally gorgeous in a light purple dress, with full sleeves and fitting her every curve perfectly. She had no make-up or jewellery on, but she still looked amazing, and natural.
They went downstairs, arm in arm, and got into Sakura's limo, while some of her maids put the picnic baskets in the compartment at the front. Soon, they were off.
Dressed in a light green shirt, and khaki trousers, Syaoran descended the stairs. He was grumbling to himself, about how Eriol had managed to make him go out twice in one week. He had been completely sure that he wouldn't go, but when his cousin had mentioned that Kinomoto was going to be there, he had decided he wanted to meet her again. He wasn't attracted to her, more like intrigued, he told himself. When they last met, he saw how she hid her emotions very quickly, before they were noticed by, well, normal people. But he wasn't normal, even if he wished he was. He had noticed, and he wanted to know why someone as seemingly sweet as her would want to hide.
He found Eriol in his study, as usual, wearing grey trousers and a deep blue t-shirt. They had to leave soon, and Eriol was still engrossed in whatever geeky book he was reading now. Oh, sorry, I mean amazingly fascinating. Wondering how his girlfriend put up with him, Syaoran tapped him on the shoulder, making the poor guy jump, and suspiciously, try and hide the book he was reading. Oh well. Syaoran had other things on his mind.
They had breakfast in silence, each busy in his own thoughts. After they had finished, they grabbed the picnic basket which, probably, Wei prepared for them. They then put it in the trunk of Syaoran's Lamborghini, (A.N/ - Is that how you spell it? Love that car!) Got in, and zoomed off.
"Yay! We're nearly there!" Squealed Tomoyo. She had been getting more excited the closer they got.
"Tomoyo, who's going to be there? You still haven't told me!" said Sakura. 'Just the usual", replied Tomoyo, as she got out of the car as it pulled up next to the park. When Sakura asked her to elaborate, Tomoyo replied with,
"Eriol, Takashi, Chiharu, Rika, Naoko, Reisha, Jake, and Tereda and… Eriol's cousin… and I think that's it"
"Eriol's cousin? Who's he?"
"Oh, I think you've met him"
"Yeah, maybe, but I won't know until you tell me will you"
"Well, it's -"
"Li Syaoran", spoke a familiar voice, nearly causing Sakura to fall down. She turned around, blinked once, twice, and then screamed, "Oh My God, Li! Don't ever do that again or I'm going to kill you!," Then turning to face the guy next to Syaoran, she continued, "AND YOU, ERIOL! YOU NEVER TOLD ME AND WE'RE MEANT TO BE BEST FRIENDS!"
"Chillax, Sakura. Eriol never told you because you never asked, now cool down, this day is meant to be fun!" Tomoyo spoke up in a soothing voice. Sakura just stared at her incredulously for a second, and then stalked off towards their favorite spot muttering something about 'Tomoyo the traitor' and 'Eriol taking over the world with his wacky words'.
The-three-that-were-left-behind stared at each other for a second, before there was a giggle from Tomoyo, a smirk from Syaoran and a chuckle from Eriol. Soon after that, Tomoyo and Eriol were laughing, hard, while Syaoran had a huge grin plastered on his face, and amusing thoughts running through his head. One thought struck him, like a lone green spot in a white background. This girl, who he'd only met, briefly, twice, had made him smile three times in the same week.(A.N/ Twice last chapter, remember?) She was different. Definitely.
Tomoyo P.O.V
I know it's kind of horrible to be laughing, but I can't help it! I'm just so happy! If in this situation before, Sakura would usually just laugh it off, but she was actually angry at someone, in a long, long time. Syaoran was something, different. He could change Sakura. Glancing at Eriol, I knew he was thinking the same things. We all loved Sakura, and wanted her back.
Sakura P.O.V.
Stupid Tomoyo, stupid Eriol and Stupid Li! They're also laughing, actually laughing at me!
Suddenly I stopped, realizing something. It was like a sharp slap. After years of hiding, trying to be always happy, I actually had gotten angry. It's not really a big deal for normal people, but I'm not normal! I can't believe I'm so weak that someone I met for the second time was able to make me snap!
I decided to stay away from that Li. He was someone who could break years of my carefully built walls, and I couldn't have that. I needed to stay away; I needed to protect my friends, my family, and everyone I love. I have to.
I vowed to.
Chapter 2 is over! This is part 1 of the picnic, part 2 will be next, and guess what! I now know the story, past and all! I got it while writing this chapter! It's kind of creepy, but it suits Sakura's need to 'protect everyone in her family'. Also, she and Syaoran's past are kind of the same; they're connected basically – Deep, dark secret. I think my updating might get faster, because my chapters are quite short … hehe sorry about that!
