Summary: She was always good at hiding. Hiding objects, people, herself and her emotions. Hiding her emotions to the extent that even she couldn't realize them. She preferred it this way, because this way she never needed to tell people everything and more importantly, trust them. He was always a bit ahead of everyone, running from his emotions. Busy with his work, his training, his duties, he hardly ever had time to think, let alone do simple things such as smiling, laughing, having fun and enjoying life. When these two crash, and are forced to trust each other when faced against a mutual enemy, will they manage? Or will they go down before that? Read to find out...
Chapter 3
Syaoran P.O.V.
I'll be honest. I'm actually enjoying myself today, what with that Yamazaki Takashi's stories and the delicious food everyone's brought. Well, the day would be perfect, if Sak- I mean Kinomoto wasn't avoiding me like the plague. It is annoying, considering she's the reason I came today. But whatever. I hardly ever get a chance to go to picnics, so I'm going to enjoy myself.
"Li, we're going to do an introduction thing because you don't know anything about all of us! Come sit here." Daidouji spoke up, and I sat down where she showed me.
"Hello Li! My name is Chiharu, I LOVE the colour purple. I wish the world was purple. Imagine, purple cows, and purple puppies and purple kittens!! I also love animals, especially cute ones! I live with my mum, my dad but I don't have any brothers or sisters though I wish I had a toddler sibling how adorable would that be…EEEEEEEE!!" She trailed off, with stars in her eyes…Umm, Okay.
"Yo, I'm Takashi. I'm Chiharu's boyfriend. I live with my parents, and a sister but she's in Hong Kong right now. Oh, and did you know that Hong Kong actually used to be called The Land of The Apes? It was because you could find the most variety of monkeys there, at the time. But they ran away when humans started moving in, and the apes spread over the world. This is also why the name King Kong resembles Hong Kong, and -" A thwack on the head from Chiharu cut him off.
"Hey Li, Call me Rika. I live with my mum, step-dad and my annoying brother, Ryu. I'm usually quiet, as all my friends say. But, I'm warning you, unless you want to ruin the rest of your meeting with me, never, ever give me any coffee. The last time Sakura gave me some, let's just say she had to redecorate her room…hehe." She ended. Well, a lot more normal than Chiharu.
"Hi, I'm Tereda. I'm Rika's boyfriend, and we're also best and childhood friends. I'm addicted to mystery stories at the moment. I live with my dad and step-mom; my parents are divorced, I have a step brother, and that's about it.
"Hi! I'm Naoko! I'm kind of addicted to ghosts and stories & movies about them. I'm good at making up ghost stories, so I scare Sakura because she HATES ghosts. I like writing, and I've won a lot of competitions. I live with my mum and dad. I don't have any siblings, and I like being an only child. I hope we can be friends!" Oh, so Sakura hates ghosts? Now that is interesting.
"I'm Eriol. Oh what the hell you already know everything about me!"
"Hello! You know me, I'm Tomoyo! I love videotaping, but I think you guessed that because I have a tape-recorder in my hand right now, hehe. I also like making clothes and I'm going to be a fashion designer when I grow up, whenever I grow up! You see what Sakura's wearing? I made that! Don't you love it? Don't you? Doesn't she look beautiful? Huh, huh?"
"She looks okay. Only because of the dress though", I replied. Not the right answer. Kinomoto rolled her eyes, and answered with an "I love you too". "Really? Then come closer my dear." I shot back, amused at the way her face turned tomato red.
"HI! My name is Reisha! I'm very, very sane, more than anyone else here! Everyone says I'm hyper all the time, but I have NO IDEA WHY! I HATE Jake here because he ALWAYS steals my stuff, right from Kindergarten! THE FIRST THING HE EVER STOLE WAS MY CRAYONS AND THAT'S JUST HORRIBLE! I have to LIVE with him because our parents are best friends so MY LIFE IS HELL! Except I have amazing friends and an AMAZING family and I LOVE THEM ALL! Oh, and, I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN! I LOVE YOU!!" Yeah, right, if she's sane I'm a monkey from the land of the apes…err…Hong Kong.
"Hey dude. I'm the dude with the dudey stuff from the land of the dudes…a.k.a Jake. I'm Reisha's rival, and her best friend, though she won't admit it. I live with her, and I love motorbikes, I have 3 of them and I'm getting a new one so I'm really happy, and yeah. That's it.
Finally, it was her turn. "Hey, call me Sakura. You were at my 18th birthday party, and you already know my friends. I've lived 3 years of my life - from when I was 10 at a…family friend's house but on my 13th birthday my family took me back because they…because, stuff happened." She paused, before continuing "My dad is the leader of the Kinomoto Company, and my brother helps but will take over soon. I also hate ghosts, I was a cheerleader at my school, I love dancing and giving coffee to Rika", she finished with a smirk.
"Okay, we're all done! It's your turn now, Li!" How does Dai…err, Tomoyo always manage to be so happy? I noticed her looked sad and betrayed when Sakura didn't give a good enough reason about why her family took her back. Maybe, even she, her best friend doesn't know?
"Hey I'm Li Syaoran, and I…I guess you could all call me Syaoran." I began "I'm the star from the movie 'Hiding behind Lies', and I was also in the movie 'Never Give Up'. (A/N – Demon of Selen you now know why Syaoran's sooo famous! I hope there aren't any movies with those names, they're completely random so sorry if they are actually movies!) "My parents died in a car crash years ago, accidentally we were told. I have 4 sisters, and if my life in movies doesn't work out, then I have an entire business to take over." They were all silent, probably trying to figure out why I emphasized accidentally. Well, it's true. I really do believe my parents were killed by…them. The people I lived with till I was 13.
No. Don't think about them now Syaoran. Wait till your home. I have to wait, or else I might do something I regret later.
"OH SNAP!" Eriol's yell pulls me out of my thoughts. "It's 3:30 already! We're going to be late for your interview, Syaoran!" Did I forget to mention that Eriol takes care of all my meetings, friends, connections and stuff for when I'm a movie star and for my business? He's organized like that.
Wordlessly I get up, leaving all our stuff where it is because the place is a forty-five minute drive away and it starts at 4. Oh Snap, indeed. "Bye everyone, bye…Sakura". With that I walk away, ignoring the knowing look Eriol is giving me.
Reader's P.O.V.
The group that was left were enjoying themselves, but after a while they all left to go home, as it was late. As soon as they were gone, two people emerged from the tree they were sitting near.
"Boss is going to love this info. We have detailed accounts about everyone present." Started the first figure-in-green. Female, you could figure out from her voice.
"Yeah, this is great. I guess we could expect a raise, huh. Though we only needed information on the Li guy and the Kinomoto girl." Said the second figure. A man.
"Oh well. Did you record everything?" Said the woman.
"What?! I thought you were going to!" exclaimed the man.
"Oh great now we have to repeat everything from memory! Great job, you idiot!" With that she stalked off, the other spy following her, trying to apologize.
