"Can I call him now? Please… mama…" I sat with the kitchen table begging my mama to let me borrow the phone, but she just waved me off. "He needs some time darling; you will only make him miss you more… go up to your room and clean it dear. You know how messy it looks like, and now, when Tom is gone you can't blame him for all the mess…" She smiled at me, and I started unwilling to walk up the stairs to my room. "Stupid…" I whispered while a slowly opened the door to our, eh… my room.

I lay down on the bed, my eyes were filled with tears, and my heart where filled with sorrow. How could they! How could they take my only family member away from me! How! I cried into my pillow, I couldn't stop my feelings from flowing. I still felt his scent in the room, his smell and aura, but he wasn't there anymore. He wasn't there to comfort me while I cried. What was I going to do at school, now, when I didn't have my brother to help me with my homework?

I sat up. I knew that I couldn't be crying all day, it wouldn't make it any better. I started slowly to take down my brothers posters from the wall, one by one. The motorcycles he had convinced me that he needed, the half-naked girls. I had tried to stop him from putting those up, but he didn't listen to me, but that wasn't something new either. He was Tom. No one could control him or decide over him. He never gave up, even if he lay pushed down on the ground with a nose bleeding and a blue eye, he never gave up. I sometimes wished I was like him.

"Toooom! The kitchen hasn't been cleaned yet! Don't think you are going to sleep before that is done!" I heard them shout after me from upstairs, but I didn't have any more strength to get up from bed. I had been here for two weeks, and for two weeks I had been their slave. I wasn't the only kid living here, but I was the only one that wasn't theirs. Tomorrow was my first day at school, and I nearly had any power left in my body to get up to go to the toilet. "Tooom!" I heard angry feet walk down the stairs. They slammed against the floor. "You should know better than don't answering when an adult calls after you!" He dragged me out of my bed. "Kid! Show me some respect! Get up!" He spat at me. I stumbled myself to my feet and stood in front of him. "Go clean the kitchen, or it will be no breakfast for you tomorrow. Am I understood?" I nodded. "I can't here you. Am I understood?" I lifted my head and looked at him, "Yes Mr. Carling, I understand." He nodded, clearly amused about my answer. "So why are you just standing there boy! GO!" he yelled into my ear. I stumbled my way up from the cold basement and into the messy kitchen. It was dirt everywhere. Still I cleaned it only the night before. Dirty dishes were placed in huge stacks from the sink, and there were food on the floor. "This means not much sleep today either…" I mumbled for myself as I started the huge mission I had got.
