Later That Week There was no sign of vampires and everything quickly went back to normal. Forks had a whole week full of very bright sunshine. It's been a long time since any sun hit Forks. It was just me and Nessie in the Cullen's big mansion. She stayed in the house the whole time usually when there's sun outside, Nessie is the first one outside but I've been watching her the pass couple of days and she's just been down of course she try's to hide it from me but I can still see it. She wouldn't tell me what was wrong with her. I looked out glass window and saw a thick cloud bank. "Only in Forks will you get a storm after having the most sunshine in years" I said walking over to Nessie. She looked over from the couch to me. "You know it's weird how everyone else can sense that but I can't" "Well your only half a vampire" "Yeah the only things I got was super speed, strength and the ability to drink blood" "Hey, why don't you do your ability anymore?" I asked sitting next to her. "What do you mean?" "Your ability you know where you would project pictures into other people's head" "Oh" she paused. I waited for Nessie to talk, "Okay just promise me you wouldn't say anything to anyone okay, no one knows about this" that made me feel a bit special. "expect my father" moment was gone "but when I stopped drinking blood a lot of things went away like my gift, sense of supernatural hearing, smell, my speed, my strength compared to my first year when I did drink blood even my rapid aging. Nessie not being able to heal fast just makes her as fragile as a human and when your around people like me and the Cullens that can easily hurt her, you being able to heal quickly is what we count on if she ever gets hurt badly. "Jacob, I didn't tell you this so you can worry about me too" "Nessie, you not being able to heal quickly is something to worry about when every VAMPIRE that has cross Forks comes after you" "It's complicated Jacob!" "I don't want the blood to have control over my life, I've seen what that stuff does when you want it, crave it. Nothing else matters to us" she said with such pain and she looked so scared. "My mom tried to kill me once you know. I had fell one day began to bleed a little but before I knew I hitting the ground about a hundred feet away from her because my dad had threw me to stop my mom. The look on her face it was clear to me that at that moment, I was no longer her daughter just something she wanted to drain" "That's reason why she left" I said (Bella was away from Nessie for like 3 years). "Yup when my dad was trying to get my mom as far a way from me as possible. He made things worst I was bleeding even more now from my head now too and I broke my wrist. My dad fought off my mom as best as he would without actually hurting her. Once he realized he couldn't stop her. He ask me to go in the house and call Carlisle then they left. Everyone else was gone so i waited all by myself. It took Carlisle two days to come for me and to check if I was okay. God, I was so scared I didn't know what to think about any of it so my dad and Carlisle told me to that pretend like it didn't happen because my mom wouldn't shut up about the fact that she wanted to kill me. I don't wanna lose myself the way that she did Jacob, I wanna have self control so I stopped hunting and feeding because I don't want that to happen to me, i dont wanna forget, I don't wanna hurt the people that I care about" this was the second time I've seen Nessie crying harder than I ever since her cry before but this time I can comfort her. I rapped my arms around her and hugged her. "My grandparents, Phil, Matt, Bonnie, Jeremy, and his parents are the reason why I don't wanna continue drinking blood if I- I can't even think about it. They're everything to me and why I choose to live this way without them I just- I just don't know" "Nessie, you have me your family and my family to keep you from going on a killing spring. If really care about them then you'll learn how to control yourself around them if you choose to start drinking blood again" Nessie broke our hug and moved to the side to look at me. "Jacob. Think of your most favorite food, the smell of it, the taste of it, that amazing feeling you finally get it when you haven't eaten it in a long time now picture that food everywhere you go but you can't eat it but it follows you everywhere. You see it everywhere. Imagine that feeling and multiply that by a million and you might silty tap into the feeling I feel everyday. Emmett, Rosalie and my mom have never had a single drop of human blood yet you see how they get around blood. Everyone else have tasted it and its taken them years to stop and even more years of resisting and they still can't even get it right. My family is isolated from everyone with a beating heart that smells good to them. Jacob I've drank human blood, my first week hell that was all I drank but if I start drinking blood and I started hunting. Me being around humans is only gonna make it that much hard for me because i'm always gonna want more" "I still don't know why I try so hard to understand the vampire stuff because no matter how many times you explain it to me I'm just never gonna get it" Nessie laughed and moved towards me and hugged me. "That's just you being the awesome best friend that you are" Later That Day I was laying down on the couch with my feet on the marble coffee table watching TV. Nessie was locked up in some room on the top floor. I don't know what was in that room but whenever she was here that's were she spent most of time. All I know is that, that room was rebuilt into a soundproof room or more like vampire proof room. I guess it was a way for Nessie to have some privacy even from Edward and we all knew not to disturb her when she was up there but to wait until she came down on her own. She was so private about the room Nessie had the only key to unlock the door because the door ALWAY remained locked. I saw Nessie come down the stairs from the corner of eye. She walked straight towards the window. "Wow, Jake come look" She said and I obeyed. I looked out the window and it was pouring outside. "I'm gonna go check if all the windows are closed" I said. "Okay" Nessie said and walked towards the couch. "Find something to watch" I said now in the other room. Nessie fell asleep half way into the third movie. It was about midnight when I remembered I was suppose to give out new patrol schedules to my pack but every time I tried to pick up Nessie's legs off mine I couldn't. I would just get caught up in her beauty. I myself I was getting sleepy so I tried to get more comfortable up until I woke her. "Sorry I didn't-" she said still half a sleep. I cut her off "It's fine" I said. Nessie took her legs off mine. "I'm gonna go to bed" she said. "Alright gonna crash here" I said. "Okay" she said and speeded up to her dad's room well her room now. The Next Morning "Jeremy, hi I'm so glad you called, how was the Lake house party?" I heard Nessie say from the kitchen. I lower down the TV volume to hear her conversation more clearly. "If I could remember it I would tell you about it but all I know is that was crazy" Jeremy said. "Really?" Nessie said with a bit of a laugh. "You missed a great party, hey how are you? Feeling better if not you know I make a killer chicken soup out of a can" Jeremy said and Nessie laughed. "Yeah, I am feeling a lot better actually thanks for asking" "Okay well I was calling just to check up on you and tell you that my parents have been missing you and so have I" "I'll stop by and see you guys soon" "Okay" "I'll talk to you soon" "Alright, I'll see you later" When she got off the phone that's when I came into the kitchen. Nessie was sitting the on the kitchen table with her arm on the kitchen and her fist on the side of head with this blink look on her face. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing I was remembering when Jeremy's parents would take us up to his lake house for the day and they would tell me I was their daughter for the day. That just made me feel all good ya know... Well I'm gonna go take a shower. You go to the diner after? "Sure, then I'll go take one too "Okay oh and Rosalie kinda threw your clothes away that you had here but Alice brought you some new clothes there in Emmett's room" "Your a horrible liar" I laughed and so did she. "I know I know" We went to the diner and waited to be seated. "Carlie" someone said. Nessie turned her head to see who called her and so did I. "Hey" she greeted and hugged both the woman and the man. "How have you been? Jeremy told us you were sick" the woman said with concern. "Yeah, I am" Nessie said. "You shouldn't be out with this kinda weather. You'll get worst" the woman said worried. "Yes. You should be home resting" the man said. It amazing me how everyone worries about her even the humans get a bit overly protective of her. "I was I'm actually feeling better now" Nessie said. When that was out of the way the man and woman eyes looked at me. "Oh um this is Jacob, Jacob this is Dr. And Mrs. Gilbert" that's right Jeremy parents. His dad was one was of the town's doctors. "Its a pleasure to me you Jacob" they said. "Pleasure all mine Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert" I said shaking their hands "Please call me Miranda" the woman said and smiled. "And you can call me Grayson or Gray" the man said. "Dr. Gilbert, your table is ready" "Thank you, Would you two like to join us?" He asked. Nessie looked at me. "Yeah sure" I said. "Hey, so what will you guys be having today" the waited asked. "Jacob?" Grayson questioned while he still looked at his menu "Umm ill have the waffle special with coffee" I said. Grayson looked at Miranda and Nessie and they both nodded. "We'll just have the usual" Grayson said. "Okay. Hey Carlie" the waited and cheesed at Nessie. "Good morning Jeff" Nessie said and then the waiter left. "So Jacob do you go to school with Carlie and Jeremy?" Grayson asked. "Uhh no, I-I graduated last year" I said. "Ohh so your older, how old are you?" Grayson asked. "19" I said. "And you do know she's only 17" Grayson said. "Yeah I've very well aware of that" I said "Gray stop interrogating him-" Miranda was cut off "Well if he's gonna be dating Carlie I at least wanna know more about him" Grayson said. "Oh no, we're not- we're not together. We're just friends" Nessie jumped in. The waiter was finally back with our drinks. "Here are your drinks. Coffee for the Mr. and Ms. and you. And an Orange juice for Carlie" the waiter said and smiled at Nessie. We all stared as he did it then walked away. "So how did you guys meet?" Grayson started again. "He's a friend of my mom's I mean his dad knows my mom" Nessie said. The conversation continued and we all talked once Grayson began to lighten up. Carlie drank some of her juice and began to cough. Nessie was coughing so much she even got me to worry. She was looking like she was about to cough up a lung. "Carlie, are you okay?" Miranda asked worried. "Uhh yeah it's just" Nessie paused and touched her throat I think I just drank it to fast" she said and put the orange juice on the side. I driving back to drop off Nessie at Charlie's place. "They're very nice, I can see why you like them so much" I said looking at her. "Yup they're the best" she smiled "Yeah and they sure care about you a lot" "Yeah to quote them I'm the daughter they never had" "I never realize exactly how much time you spent with them" "Well, when there were vampires in town you and Seth basically everyone was busy tryna find it and kill it including Charlie so I started being around Jeremy and his parents so I wouldn't feel as lonely" she said sad. "Nessie, I'm sorry" "Jake, you don't have to sorry. You were tryna protect this town" "No, I mean I'm sorry that I let us drift apart" I confessed. "What? Jacob we haven't drifted away" "Yes, we have I mean I remember when you felt so comfortable around me that you told me anything now I feel like you think I don't care what's going on with you and what you feel or how-" "Jacob, it's not that I feel that you don't care is that you have so much to deal with as it is I don't-" "That's what I'm talking about Nessie. You are the most important person to me, I wanna know what's going on with you, your friends at school. What am trying to say is that I'm never too busy to talk to you or see you because you come first before anything and any one and you don't always have to go running to Seth with everything" "Jake If-if I didn't know any better I would think-" "I'm not JEALOUS of Seth" "I was gonna say that you've really miss me" "Oh" "Are you?" "No" "I know but like you said you feel like we've drift apart and you right I kinda drifted toward Seth more. I know that it's always been just you and me but you stop hanging out with me" "Only because you started hanging out with Seth" "I did that for you I felt like you were spending too much time with me that everyone else didn't get to see you as much and Seth is your best friend- ohhhh I see now your not really jealous of my friendship with Seth your jealous of Seth friendship with me.
