Nessie spent all her time at the hospital, She only went home to take a shower and change clothes while Jeremy would sleeping then it was back to the hospital. Edward made me keep in an eye on her because Seth was no where to be found. He hasn't even come to visit Nessie since she was back and now that Jeremy was feeling better she asked about him a lot.

*So how is she?* Seth asked.

*She's doing better, now Jeremy is alright* i replied.

*That's good*

*She misses you Seth*

*I know but I couldn't see her the way she was before plus she has you. She doesn't need me anymore. You should be the one there for her not me. Distance from me, will make her closer to you*

*I appreciate all that your doing but like I said she misses you*

*And I'll see her eventually but right now she need to know that you were there for her when she needed someone. I'm just tryna help you get the girl this time* Seth joked and then phased back.

I don't know what was going on with me I mean Seth is finally staying away Nessie and here I was trying to get Seth to see her. Maybe it was all part of the imprinting thing and I want her to be is happy even if it does bug me when Seth is with her but I will never let her or him know that.

I phased back into my human form and went to the hospital. I saw Nessie talking to some well dressed business woman. Claire and Quil were at the hospital too.

"Who's that Nessie is talking to?" I asked them.

"I don't know. We've been here for like an hour and they were already talking" Claire answered.

They talked for like an half and hour and when the woman left Nessie put her hands on her face and was crying. Me, Claire and Quil went over to Nessie.

"Hey what happened, What's wrong?" Quil asked.

"What did she want" i asked. She wiped her tears and breathe out.

"She came here to tell me that in a week or 2 when Jeremy is released from the hospital that she's going to take him to Virginia. She's gonna put him in an orphanage" she said. Claire grasped.

"That little bitch" Claire let out.

"Can she do that?" Quil asked.

"Yeah since none of Jeremy's relatives came to- by law Jeremy is a ward of the state" Nessie said.

"Well what does that mean?" Claire asked.

"That they have no choice but to take him away" Nessie answered.

"But they can't just do that?" Claire asked.

"They can Claire. Jeremy is under age and-" Nessie couldn't even finish her sentence before she broke down.

"Aww Nessie" Claire said and comfort her but then she got up

"No, I promised Jeremy I was gonna be here for him. I'm not gonna let her take him away from me" she said then disappeared. I looked around to see him anyone noticed. It looked like no one did.

20 minutes later

"Hey, what happen?" I heard Claire say and I saw Nessie.

"I told her that I wanted to be Jeremy's legal guardian" Nessie answered.

"What? Nessie your 16. You can't take care of Jeremy" Quil said.

"Legally I'm 18 turning 19. I'm here with Jeremy now and he's old enough to understand everything" she said.

"Then that's great right?" Claire questioned.

"No not really. I'm barely legal myself so I'm gonna have to go to court and fight for Jeremy but first I have to get a job first before they can even consider me-" i cut her off.

"Wait, why do you have to get a job?" I asked.

"Well since his parent's house is already paid for and is Jeremy's now. They have to see that I can take care of Jeremy" Nessie said.

"And if you can't?" I asked. Nessie mood changed.

"Then they'll take him away" she said.

"I don't know Nessie. do you even think you can take care of Jeremy?" I asked.

"Yeah i mean. I can get a full time job and take night classes to finish school. and I dont need or eat much so all the money I make will be for Jeremy" she said simple. I could believe what I was hearding. I mean Nessie was the same age as Jeremy really she can't be his legal guardian. I couldn't believe Nessie is willing to put her whole life on hold to care him. I don't even think she's thinking this one through.

"Nessie don't think of Jeremy as your responsibility" i said.

"Yeah Nessie he's not" Quil agreed.

"You guys dont get it, do you. Jeremy is my responsibility and I'll do whatever I can to keep him here" she said getting all defensive.

"Nessie we know you love Jeremy but think about it-" Claire was cut of.

"There's nothing to think about" Nessie said. Then she got up and walked towards Jeremy's room.

Nessie was busying all week. Doing research about this and researching Jeremy's situation. She was doing all this stuff possibly knowing that she wouldn't get him but she still it anyway. She was determined to get full custody of Jeremy.

I managed to get Nessie out of the hospital tonight. I can tell she was stressed about everything so I brought her back to my house. I knew my dad wouldn't be there so it was perfect for Nessie and I to just be alone for the night. We were having a good time. I was making her smile and laugh. Everything was going perfect until I went to the kitchen to get us something to drink when I heard her phone beeping. She read the text message and was just stunned.

"Hey, who was that?" I asked and sat next to her but she didn't answer me.

"Nessie talk to me please" i said. She laid back on the couch with her face, facing the ceiling.

"Jeremy is getting released from the hospital tomorrow. Ms. Johnson just messaged me that she's taking him tomorrow morning" she said with tears coming down her eyes. I grabbed her hand and rubbed it.

It didn't take long for Nessie to go back to Jeremy.

The Next Day

I was in the hospital with Nessie and Claire. The lady arrived and asked to speak with Nessie so they left to the cafeteria. When Nessie came back she had a file folder in her hand when she saw us she smiled. And it was a big smile.

"I got it" she said.

"Got what?" I asked.

"I got full custody of Jeremy" she said all happy

"What? Are you serious?" Claire asked.

"Yeah I just signed the papers" Nessie said.

"Oh my god. I can't believe they actually-" Nessie cut Claire off.

"I know. As long as I can take care of Jeremy financially he gets to stay with me. I'm gonna go tell him the news" Nessie said and left. I followed behind her and watched from a distance.

"Hey" she said calm.

"Hey. So what time am I leaving?"

"Right now"

"Carlie I just wanna say thank you for-"

"Why does it sound like your about to say goodbye to me"

"Well you told me yesterday that-"

"That was yesterday. Look like your gonna have to listen to me after all" Nessie said and Jeremy got extremely happy.

"You got it?"

"Yeah she just told me right now. Good thing that spare room has some of stuff in it cause I'm gonna go live with you now"

"Wait. What about Charlie?"

"I hardly see Charlie anyway. Plus he gets out early on Mondays and he gets Sundays off. I'll still see him twice a week"

"Thank you I-"

Hey don't okay. What kind of big sister would I be if-" Jeremy hugged her.

"Everything your doing. It really means a lot to me"

"I told your parent everything I saw them that I would take care of you and I meant it when I said I always would. So come on let's go home" Nessie said and Jeremy smiled.

"Let's go home" he said.

I took Claire to Emily's. I stayed because I haven't seen the pack in a while and I knew they would be there.

"Wow I can't believe she actually got custody over him. I mean she's just a kid herself" Emily said. While the pack and i sat at the diner table.

"I know it's crazy that they do stuff like that" Brady said.

"Well Nessie doesn't really have full custody yet. She still has to be approved. As long Nessie can approve that Jeremy is better off with her and that she can take care of him financially, she'll keep him. But as soon as Jeremy starts to get in any trouble that gets back to the department. They'll be force to take him away" Sam said.

Days Later

I went to the Gilberts's house. It's been awhile since I last even talked to her and missed her. I knocked on the door and Nessie hugged me.

"Hey" she greeted and went straight back into the kitchen. She had groceries on the table and was putting them in the refrigerator.

"Hey. Are you guys just getting in?" I asked. I looked around the kitchen and the trash was full of take out lunches and near it was a empty pizza box.

"Yeah i just got off work and went to go pick up Jeremy right after his practice" she said.

"You got a job?"

Yeah. At the diner. Kinda of a win, win. I get two free meals a day which means I wouldn't have to cook" she joked and showed me what she and Jeremy were about to eat for dinner. Well what they always have for diner because Nessie couldn't cook especially because she hated mostly everything. And her taste was just off.

"Nessie-" i started but she cut me off.

"Jacob I know what your gonna say. And ima continue to do what I'm doing so don't even say it cause it's not gonna change anything" she told me. But literally Nessie had just turned into a mom. She was working to feed Jeremy, she was picking him and doing everything a mother is suppose to do. I dumped the cartens of food her and Jeremy were about to eat in the trash can and I decided to pull a Seth and just understand her decision and accept it. When she about to walked away from me I pulled her back to me.

"Okay. Then how about" i started and pull her hair behind her ear because I could tell she was mad at me.

"I cook you and Jeremy a real meal" i told her and her mood changed she got happy and smiled at me. Then she leaned in and kissed my cheek.

"I'm sure we'll appreciate it cause we could use one" she told me. I smiled at her and when turned around to leave, I gently grab her by the arm and she turned to look at me. This time I was going to kiss her but the kid interrupted. I wasn't as mad as I normally get because he tried to play it off.

I made diner mostly for me and Jeremy really. Nessie just made herself a fruit salad. We all had a real good time together and I really got to see how Nessie's and Jeremy's relationship really is and it was clear that they really cared for one another.

Me and Jeremy's started bonding while we played XBox while Nessie was in the kitchen cleaning as always. He was a really nice and cool kid. It started to get late and Jeremy had to go to school tomorrow so Nessie sent me home. I obeyed her and phased to go home. I think I could really take advantage of Nessie not living with Charlie anymore.

*So your just gonna join Nessie on playing house* Brady said.

*She cares about him a lot so I'll do and say anything I can-* i was cut off by Jared.

*You wouldn't think that Nessie doing all this cause she thinks of Jeremy as a son cause you know she can't have kids of her own* Jared said.

*No, of course not she grew up with Jeremy. She loves him like a brother that's all* i said.

*Right, okay* they agreed in sarcasm.

I arrived home thinking about what Jared said about Nessie thinking of Jeremy as her son because she couldn't have any. My thoughts drifted at the thought of Nessie not being about to have kids because she's half vampire. I remember when Carlisle was telling Bella and I happened to be there. Carlisle said that Nessie doesn't show signs that she can even carry a baby. He went off to say that Nessie doesn't get her menstrual cycle and all this other things but the part that really stuck was that even if Nessie could get pregnant her own body would kill the baby before it even has a chance to develop. Carlisle went off to say that he believes that the baby would be killed in a matter of 2 weeks. Carlisle explained what Nessie's body would do and he said that her body will recognize it as an intruder and will fight it off just like the reason Nessie cant get sick because her body fights it off. It's was heard for Nessie to hear that she could never have kids hell it was even hard for me to hear because that might i would never have a son or daughter and that didn't really mean which to me then as it does now. I mean never could i be able to give Nessie kids.

"Hey son" my dad greeted me as I walked in the house.

"Hey dad"

"What's with the face Jake?" I signed

"Nothing. Its just i remembered something from a while back that kinda up in this sad, depressed mood"

"Well what is it?"

"I was just thinking about the fact that I could never have kids with Nessie" my dad reaction was so priceless that if I wasn't so bummed out i would of laughed.

"Umm kids with Nessie. When-When did you start thinking about having kids with her"

"Just right now when I coming back from seeing her"

"Ohhh I see. And you saw how she was with that kid. And"

"Yeah i mean I guess because I knew she loves Jeremy like a brother. I didn't see the way, the guys were seeing but now that replay that whole time I sent with them. You know I'm never gonna have that you know. I'm never gonna be able to form a family with her" my dad put his arm around my shoulder.

"Well Jacob you boud to start thinking this way because ever since you were a kid your dream was to form a family and for your kids to think of you as some type of hero. You know that way you saw me" he said and i just smiled at me.

"Jacob you have to weight your opinions. If having a family is more important than having Nessie then maybe even if she is your imprint. Maybe she isn't the one for you" my dad said and head towards his room.

"And I'm to young to be a grandfather. Your sister didn't listen to me-" my dad joked and i cut him off

"Your far away from be calling yourself young dad" i joked back at him.

That night I went to sleeping thinking about my future with Nessie. And also thinking about what my dad said. Nessie was my girl and I would want her more than anything even more than having kids with some other girl. I wanted Nessie more than anything. That night I had a dream. The dream started off in this house that didn't looked similar to me at all. I was just laying on the couch. Then Nessie comes and she kisses me on the mouth and then she tries to let but I guess not even in my dreams will I let her go after only give me one pop kiss so I grab her and pulled her towards me. She laughed and then we were kissing and touching. Then all of a sudden Nessie just stops

"What?" I asked her and she smiled at me and whispered.

"She's awake"
