"He's coming back for you, I promise, he's coming back." Jack held Ashley late into the night, whispering this to her over and over.
Her slow sobs eventually slowed and she drifted into sleep.
Meanwhile, Kimiko and Rai became properly acquainted with Avabrielle over a few drinks.
"So this is actually your little sister?" Rai asked Zach.
"Yeah, I say little but she's not much younger than me." Zach smiled.
"In what sense?" Asked Kim.
"We're twins." They both smiled.
"Twins? I take it you're younger, Elle?" Kim asked. She'd learned that Avabrielle preferred Elle and really was very reclusive.
"Yes, I am." She smiled. "What's going on with Ashley?"
"She's pregnant and probably about to get married to be honest." Rai answered.
Elle looked at Zach. "Did you know about her boyfriend?"
Zach sighed. "I did, I'm sorry."
"Did you know before you left for China?" She asked, hurt clouding her eyes.
"I'm sorry, Ellie, I didn't want to hurt you." Zach reached out her hand to her.
"I think I need some air." Elle stormed out.
"Ellie…" He called after her but she'd gone.
"What's going on there?" Kim asked.
"When Ashley still lived here, her and Elle were a thing. I don't know to what extent but my mum always treated her like a daughter in law. Then about four years ago, maybe a little less, Ashley left in the middle of the night. Elle was really upset and I don't think she really moved on." Zach gave a sad smile.
"Elle is gay with Ashley?" Rai asked.
"Was, Rai. And does this mean you're put off Zach's buff twin?" Kim teased.
Ignoring her comment, Rai continued, "that's deep man."
"Yes, quite." Zach sighed.
Morning came and Ivan arrived, hoping to see Ashley.
"Daddy?" Ashley came down the stairs seeing her father, shocked he'd come.
"Hello, poppet." He smiled, standing and kissing her forehead.
"What do you want, daddy?" She asked, lowering down onto a chair.
"I want to look after you, poppet. I want my grandchild to know me." He said.
"What about Marie?" She asked.
"I'm going to leave mum, poppet." He looked at the floor.
"What are you going to do, daddy? Where are you going to live?" Her eyes widened.
"With me, Ashley." Sera glided in.
Ashley raised her eyebrows.
"It is what you think; he's leaving Marie for you and me." Sera smiled.
"We'll support you, poppet, I promise." Ivan's warm smile spread across his face.
"Okay… well I have something to ask you, Sera." Ashley started.
"No, we do." Jack walked and put his hand on Ashley's shoulder.
"We were wondering if you would be our baby's godmother." Ashley asked.
Tears formed in Sera's eyes. "For you? Anything."
A bond formed between them all that day. However, time was passing and the gang had to depart.
"Are you sure, Zach?" Ashley asked.
"My family need me." He stepped out of the embrace and stood with Elle and his mum.
They waved goodbye then headed towards America to visit the Texas and Louisiana.
