Things were getting tough for me. I wasn't spending time with Nessie as much as I wanted to. Samuel was spending more time with her than I was and he using the excuse that he's been away but Samuel's behavior was off and yet again he was showing signs of phasing and I can sense it in him that was developing and getting into the last stages of phasing. Sam and I had a talk on why he's transforming without him coming across a vampire scent and without him phasing. Samuel's has had mood swings. Nessie tells us his that his heart is beating similar to ours and that his body temperature went up a few degrees. After Sam suggested we do more patrols and that maybe Samuel's had a more advanced nose then we did and we was slightly coming across a vampire scent but it wasn't close enough to make him phase.

Samuel is also confirming he likes Nessie and has been thinking about asking her on a date. It was a Saturday and I knew Jeremy likes to hang out at the Grill on Saturdays I never he wouldn't be there. I phased and went to Jeremy's house. I phased back into my human form and entered the back told.

"Hey Nessie" I said but I heard it louder and kinda of echo. Nessie was watching T.V in the living room. And Samuel had entered through the front door at the same time as I did. Nessie looked at me then at Samuel

"Oh umm. Hey guys" she greeted us.

"I was actually wondering if you wanted-" me and Samuel paused as we said it at the same time.

"To come with me to La Push" I finished.

"And i wondering if you wanted to come hiking with me" Samuel said. Nessie looked at Samuel then at me.

"Umm I don't know"

"Yeah well she went with you last time so she's coming with me" I said.

"She could of decided to stay with you but she didn't so" Samuel said and things out serious he was in his defensive mode and so was I.

"Nessie" we said at the same time and looked her. I could tell this was awkward for her.

"Umm" was all she could say. She looked at me then at Sam. Then the door.

"Seth!" She yelled and got up off thr couch and went towards the door and opened it. Seth appeared and looked confused.

"Actually I'm hanging out with Seth today. You know go to the book store, do some homework so I'll see you two later" she quickly said and grabbed her keys.

"Come on Seth" she said and grabbed him by the arm and they went out the door.

"Where-" Seth was cut off.

"Shhh" Nessie told him

"Where are we going?" Seth whispered.

"Any where you wanna go" Nessie whispered back car.

"Oh and thanks for the save" Nessie chuckled.

"Well you know me. My 'Nessie needs you senses were tingling' " Nessie laughed.

"And i always appreciated that sense forever" Nessie said and they laughed and got in her car.

Samuel and I looked at each angrierly and let the way we came in.

Days Later

As before Nessie was busy and Nessie wasn't around I didn't really want to do anything but think her spending of time with her with her. And Alana had like this radar that detected when I was alone but I told her I didn't want anything to do with her but she ending up kissing me. I stood there frozen not knowing how to push her off but then I heard a door slam. The loudest you could slam a door with out breaking it and I knew would had walked in and that was just the strength I needed to push Alana off me and when I did I my head immediately shot towards the door. Nessie stood there with her arms and raised one eyebrow at me. Man she looked so beautiful when she was pissed off but I looked passed.

"Nessie-" I was cut off.

"This isn't your house little girl, you shouldn't slam the door like that" Alana yelled.

"Little girl?" She questioned

"Yeah. your a little girl but little enough to take care of yourself so your babysitter is off limits today" Alana said and she turned to me and played with the top of my t-shirt. Nessie quickly took her hand off me and was in Alana's face.

"First of all I'm not a little girl and second of all. Jacob is not my babysitter" Nessie said pissed. Alana took a step back.

"Aww I think I hurt the little girl's feeling by calling her a little girl" Alana said. I saw Nessie eyes turn from her beautiful chocolate brown to a deep dark black. She was about to move when I stood in the way and she just looked at me. Then her eyes went back to their beautiful natural color. She started breathing hardly trying to calm herself down.

"Tell her to leave Jacob" she demanded

"Nessie-" I took a step towards her. When reached out for her hand and she raised them up.

"Fine" she said and walked away. She opened the door

"Glad you can take a hint little girl!" Alana yelled and Nessie slammed the door again. It felt like the whole house shook when she slammed the door even some of the pictures that hanged on the wall fell down. I heard the car tires squeal. Alana walked over to me and put her hand on my cheek. I grabbed them.

"You should go" I said and walked away from her.

The Next Day

I went to Jeremy's and when I walked in Nessie stood there almost like shocked to see me.

"Hey" I greeted.

"Hi" she said and didn't even look at me.

"What are you doing today?" I asked. Nessie reach over the couch and picked up her duffle bag.

"Cheer practice"

"Tomorrow?"

"Im going hiking with Samuel"

"Day after tomorrow?"

"I'm actually busy this whole week so-" she said and walked pass me. I grabbed her arm to stop her from leaving and she closed her eyes as she tried not to look at me.

"Nessie come on don't be with way"

What way? Can you leave now I have things to go today and homework that needs to be done and then I have to wake up early tomorrow and sign Jeremy to baseball camp so can you leave? Please" she asked me so I had to obey.

The Next Day

I was doing my patrol when I had Samuel. I followed his voice and it lead me to Nessie's and I spot at La Push. Nessie and Samuel were here at our spot. I could feel the blood heating in my body. I couldn't believe she was here of all place with Samuel.

"Come on ill be right next to you. I'm gonna let you drown" Samuel joked.

"Yeah, I know you won't but the answer still no" she smiled at him.

"Come on well go lower down if this jump is to high-" Nessie cut him off.

"No that's not the problem I just don't want to okay. There no need to learn how to swim if-" Samuel picked her up and walked toward the cliff

"No Sammy Stop!" Nessie yelled but Samuel keep walking. Nessie became all scared and she screamed like crazy

"No Sammy! STOP! PUT ME DOWN! SAMUEL PUT ME DOWN" Nessie screamed.

*PUT HER DOWN* I yelled but it came out as a low growl. Samuel didn't heard it but he put her down and she was crying and breathing heavily.

"It's just water Nessie" Samuel said.

"Yeah-yeah I know" Nessie managed it say. Nessie was shaking and Samuel finally noticed what he did.

"I didn't mean to scare you like that. I won't do it again. I'm sorry" he said and hugged her. Nessie finally saw me. Her eyes were red and puffy and she was still breathing heavily. Nessie put her arms around him and hugged him tightly and closed her eyes.

"It's fine. can you just take me home now" she whispered and opened her eyes.

"Yeah of course" Samuel said. Nessie tool one last look at me and left with him.

Later That Day

I went to see Nessie. The way she was earlier today. I just had to see if she was okay. It was around 11 o'clock at night so doors were locked and I started to think of a way to get in then I remembered a spare key Jeremy used one time that was under a brick in the garden. I found it and opened the back door. I shut the door as slowly as I could and sneaked up to Nessie room. I saw her in her very short pajama shorts and long sleeve shirt. Her hair was up in a ponytail and I noticed she has her earphones in her ears and that why she hadn't noticed me yet. I watch her as she undid her bed. I knew this looked bad from my part watching her this way but Nessie never wore shorts so I never realized how nice and long and thick her legs were. Then my eyes moved to her butt then they just stayed there staring at her fat a-

"Jacob?" She called my name.

"What the hell are you doing here? How did you even get in?" I was no longer looking at her ass because she moved so i snapped out of it. She took her earphones out her ears and just looked at me.

"Hey" was all I could say.

"Hi. Can I help you with something?" She asked rudely.

"Nessie come on stop treating me this"

"I'm tired Jacob"

"I'll let you sleep and we talk about it tomorrow morning"

"No I mean I'm tired of this. Us? Jacob, I told you how I felt and I also told you that I didn't want you to hang out with Alana and I know you don't have to listen to me so if you want to then by all means but just don't expect me to sit and watch as before"

"Nessie-"

"You just don't get it, do you?"

I reached for Nessie's hand and she quickly pulled away.

"Don't touch me" She said angry. That moment her bathroom door opened. It was Jeremy.

"What's going on?" He asked and looker at me like he was going to kick my ass then he looked over at Nessie

"Is everything okay?" He asked her.

"Yeah it is. I'm sorry we woke you" she said and looked at me

"And Jacob was just leaving" she said.

I took on last look at her and left. I took my time going down the stairs.

"What happened?" Jeremy asked her.

"Nothing" Nessie quickly replied.

"Carlie?"

"Nothing. Jeremy I'm over it"

"You know sometimes I want you to be honest with me as I am with you" he told her. Nessie signed.

"I'm just done with him. I keep thinking that things will change but they wouldn't. I just wish he could just tell me he's not interested instead of just telling me that he needs time"

"Okay. So why don't you listen to me and see how things go with Seth" Jeremy said. Nessie chuckled.

"Seth is Jacob's best friend"

"Samuel?"

"Their cousin"

Well there's a whole line of other guys waiting to date you so stop being picky and give someone a chance. Probably someone who's been in love you since he first saw you. You know like Matt" Jeremy said.

"Goodnight Jere" Nessie told me and I left the house. Wow this whole time I thought Jeremy was trying to help me get Nessie I mean I even told him I liked her. Now all of a sudden he wants Nessie to be with Seth or Samuel or even Matt.

Couple Of Days Later

Nessie has been avoiding me and returning my calls. I was sick of this, I mean she is the only girl I want and the girl I would always want. Why can't she just see that I'm there now and that my feeling are there now. But no, she doesn't see that everything I'm doing is to show her that I no longer want to be her brother, friend, best friend so decided to go to Jeremy's.

"Hey Jeremy" I greeted as Jeremy had just got there too.

"Hey what's up dude. I don't think Carlie home" Jeremy said and opened the door.

"I actually wanted to talk to you"

"Okay. About what?"

"About what happened the other day"

"Ayy man that was none of my business-"

"I just wanted to tell you that I wasn't lying when I told you I liked her" I said. Jeremy was the only person I actually said it to and the only person to actually hear me say it.

"Well from what she's told me. Sounds like your not interested in her. That's you like this Alana chick"

"I don't. She just came in at a bad time. And I wants to show her that she's the only one I want" I told him and he just cheesed at me.

"Okay, what do you want me to do?"

"Not be here from like 6-9"

"Okay. You got it."

Couple Of Hours Later

This was it I was going to tell Nessie that I liked her. I replayed everything in my head how I was going to say it when I was going to say. I went over all the questions she could ask me. I just went over and over it. I made Nessie dinner while all I did was peel and cut her favorite fruits because that what she only ate but I made a candle light dinner out of it. I put a dozen roses in the middle of the table. The roses were a bright red, her favorite color. I wasn't a romantic type of person and the picture looked better in my head then it actually did but i hope she sees it as it's the thought that counts. I turned off the power. Complete darkest in the whole house and the light there was. Was the light from the candles I lit up. I went to the door and I checked everything out and it was perfect. Everything was perfect and now I just waited for her to come home.

I waited and waited. I even put out new candles and right when I thought she wasn't coming. I heard a car pull up. I could hear her coming and my heart started beating faster and I got nervous. This is it.

Nessie opened the door. I heard the light switch but I turned off the power that light wasn't coming back on. Nessie flickered the lights.

"Dammit" she said and just continued to flicker the light switch.

"Nessie" I said. She jumped up and nearly fell. I smiled at her and she looked at me. Then look to the left of me. She put down her keys and phone on the counter then took off her jacket and put it on a hook. She walked towards me but still keep a little distance. She looked into the kitchen.

"What's doing on?" She asked.

"I made you diner and Jeremy's spending time with his friends soo we have the house to ourselves" I told her. She smiled and entered to kitchen. Her eyes widen and she smiled as she saw the table.

"Wow. You did this?" She questioned.

"Yeah, I did all of this for you" I said. she smiled and blushed at me and walked over to the counter top and picked up the bowl of grape and ate one.

"So is my power really out or is it part of this" she smiled big.

"Yeah i shut it off" I said walked towards her. She took a step back and bumped into the counter. She looked down then looked at me.

"So what's all this for?"

"You"

"Why?" She asked. I was right in front of her now and was pinned by the counter, she tapped. I grabbed bowl of grape and set it aside. I took another step towards her and there was no space left between us. I touched her cheek and she immediately looked down.

"Jacob" she whispered and grabbed my hand and slowly moved it off her face but moved my hand and put my fingers in between hers. Her chest just keep moving up and down, breathing heavily and she finally looked up at me.

"Before you start talking. Let me just say something... There's nothing going on between me and Alana. You just caught us at a bad time-" she cut me off.

"So what you guys are like friends with benefits now" she said angry and pushed me away from her. Lately I noticed Nessie was on of those girl that you had to keep close and take control or she would ruin everything. It's like she gets mad and pissed off the she is from me. She tried to leave but I pulled her back to me and had my arm around, pinning her to me.

"No, there's nothing.. Nessie there's no attachment between me and her... not anymore"

"Okay. so your not seeing Her"

Or anyone else. Because the girl I want" i said and i laid my hand on her cheek and i got closer to her.

"Can't see what she means to me and cant see that my feeling for her are-" she head shot towards the door and I looked and the was flash just blinking on and off like every two seconds. I looked Nessie and with my eyes I tried to tell her to leave it alone. But she put her hand on my arm that was pinning her to me so I let her go and she speeded towards her phone. I couldn't believe that call was more important then me. But whatever I did all this and if she couldn't take a hint off all this then I don't know what else to do. Because I tired telling her, showing her, even making these stupid dinner for her.

"Hello" I heard her.

"Sammy" she said and it just had to be Samuel. I'm literally like one strike a way of kicking that boy's ass.

"Where are you I'll come get you" she said. Okay perfect she was leaving this night that started off perfect in my head became a stupid and horrible reality.

"Yeah. Yeah I'm on my way" she said and I hear her pick up her keys.

"Who was that?" I said from the kitchen. Nessie appeared by the kitchen door fame and I saw the car keys in her hand. Nessie took a look at the table and then looked down to the floor.

"Sammy. He asked me to go pick him up" she whispered.

"So your just gonna leave?" I asked her but she didn't say anything.

"Okay then I'll just put all this stuff away" I said in the calmest voice I could find. I blew out a candle and picked up the plates.

"I think you should come" she told me

"I don't think you realize. Samuel wants you to himself" I said and pull the unused plates back.

"I think he might need you" she said and could hear fear and worry in her voice. I turned around to look at her.

"Why?"

"He got in a fight and send this kid to the hospital... He blacked out Jacob he doesn't know what happened? He said he felt strange since then... He scared Jacob. He doesn't know what's happening to him. I think he might be phasing"
