Whenever my nephew Billy was around Nessie, he became like a extremely jealous boyfriend. He didn't like me near her or anyone near her that wasn't him. It was entertaining to see but unlike everyone else I didn't find it cute but a bit annoying. Especially now that I've been trying to tell her how I feel about her.

I never noticed how much everyone wanted Nessie around until I actually liked her. Someone was always in the way.

Billy's party was going well. Nessie was glad to be spending time with Samuel again thst she forgot about me but she stayed close to me. Nessie was smiling, laughing and she was just happy. And I loved to see her that way.

I had to go to my room. My dad told me there was something wrong with my room's light so went to go take a look. I did a couple of rewiring and fixed it.

When I went back to the living, everyone was still there. Except Nessie and then I noticed Samuel wasn't here either. I walked over to Billy knowing he would know where she had went.

"Where's Nessie?" I asking him. He didn't even look at me because he was so into his cake.

"She went outside with Samuel" he answered.

"Do you know why?" I asked.

"No, not really he just said he wanted to talk to her. Alone" he said.

"And you let him?" I questioned. He looked up at me.

"My mom give me cake" he said with a mouth full of it. I walked towards the back door.

"Jacob" I heard Paul calling me.

"some chick Alana is on the phone for you" Paul said. With the home phone in his hand.

"No, tell her I'm not here" I quickly said.

"Too late I already told her you were" he said and I pushed him away.

"Hello?" I answered a bit annoyed.

"Hey Jakey" she said with her flirty voice.

Alana just keep talking and talking. About how I completely forgot about her and she just went on and on.

I was probably listening to her talk for about 35 minutes. I was 2 seconds away of just putting the phone down because since she was letting me talk. I was pretty sure she wouldn't noticed that I wasn't listening anymore because hearing her talk and talk and talk was just making me sleeping.

"What's wrong Leah?" I heard Embry ask. I looked over and Leah came inside with this angry look on her face.

"It's late. you should take the kids home. You know it not SAVE around this town at this time" Leah said with such angrier. I hung up the phone and the pack seemed to get up with me knowing what Leah was trying to tell us. Emily looked over to Sam because she knew exactly what was happening as well.

"Where's Samuel?" Emily asked him.

"Outside talking to my girlfriend" Billy answered. We all looked over to Billy as he was still eating his cake.

"Sam the scent" Emily said worried.

"Sammy I didn't mean it like that!" I heard Nessie cry so I quickly ran outside. Not knowing where they were.

Then I saw them way in the back by my garage. I took my eyes off Nessie to look at Samuel which was breathing heavily. I smelled the air, the vampire was close a little bit to close.

Leah, Brady, Collin, and Embry quickly phased and went out to look for it.

Samuel became to let out this deep groaning sounds and he yelled in pain. As he grabbed on to his stomach. Nessie got closer to him to comfort him. Samuel was freaking out not knowing what was happening. Samuel began to let out steam. Samuel was in transition and Nessie was standing to close.

"Nessie Move!" I yelled and ran towards them then phased. Nessie looked up at me then at Samuel while he was still bent over in pain and Nessie backed away slowly not taking her eyes off Samuel. As he moved around, Samuel let out a big snarl and phased which sent Nessie flying into a tree. I pounced on him but I was to late. He had already hit Nessie. Samuel fought me off. Making me realize why I wanted him to phase so bad because he was natural at this.

"Jacob, don't hurt him" Emily yelled.

*Stay away her* I said furious and I let him go. He recognized my voice and began to wonder why he could hear mine, Leah's, Brady's, Embry's and Collin's thoughts now. Samuel stood up and he stood up tall a couple of inches shorter than me but it made him the second tallest of the pack. Samuel's fur was black just like his father's was but he was lighter in the face with ends being brown giving a bit of color to his face.

Samuel took a look over at where Nessie laid then so did I. Seth was by her side along with Paul and my sister. I could smell the blood.

*What the hell did you do to her?* Samuel yelled at me. Noticing that Nessie had been marked and claimed by me.

*What is going on?* Samuel asked confused but all my attention was on Nessie. Who was still on the floor not moving with her eyes closed as more of her blood left her body and I heard nothing just the sound of my heart pounding away as I feared the worst.

*Nessie?* Samuel said with such worry and pain. As he slowly walked over to her. my anger built up again and I pounced on him again

*I said stay the hell away from her* I ordered for him to do.

*Jacob-* I cut him off

*I don't care! Look at what you did to her Samuel. Stay The Hell Away From Her!* I demanded and the sounds of him whimpering as I made a command made Seth phase and come to his rescue.

*It was an accident Jacob!* Seth yelled and pushed me off Samuel.

I looked at Samuel and he looked like a frighten little puppy. He was all scared and shaky.

*Samuel she's gonna be fine. Your gonna be fine too. Okay your gonna be fine* Seth told Samuel calmly.

*What the hell is that awful smell?* Samuel questioned.

*It's a vampire* Seth answered.

*A vampire?* Samuel questioned confused and panicking.

Sam came over to help Samuel and I walked over to Nessie.

I took one look at her and quickly looked away. Samuel mauled her chest so badly, I couldn't even look at her. But i did and I saw five open cut wounds where Samuel's claws had ripped through her jacket and her skin. I saw the blood leaving her body and she wasn't waking up. I heard my own yelps as i asked her to open her eyes.

Paul looked at Nessie not knowing where to pick her up.

"Be careful Paul" my sister told him.

Paul picked her up as gently as he could. As he picked her up next to me. I got a better look of her face and gently licked her cheek then Paul took her into my house.
