Jacob's POV:

I heard nothing but Emily, Sam, my sister and my dad telling me to help Samuel. I don't know what it was about this kid that made him so angry. He was uncontrollable said by everybody. No one could calm him down. It had gotten so crazy that Nessie knew and she didn't want to even hear his name at this moment. She was really worried about him but mad enough to not want to call him. The town people even started reporting seeing a "Big Black Bear" again. So it was my turn to try and control him now that humans were starting to get involved.

I went by his house. I walked in to see him sitting down eating a huge bowl of cereal. He looked up, saw my face and sighed, annoyed already.

"It's my day off today. Unless you say otherwise of course, Boss" Samuel said giving off him tuff boy attitude.

"We need to talk" I said.

"No. We don't. But since you need to I'm guessing we will. Whether I want too or not" Samuel said and stood up to but the bowl in the kitchen sink. Samuel has really been milking the fact that he doesn't have a say in anything when it comes down to me.

"Look, I'm not gonna pretend like I don't know you have strong feelings for Nessie. And I'm not gonna pretend like I'm okay that you do but I came here cause i wanna help you control your-"

"Just shut up already! Because you don't give a damn about me. Your just using me to make points with your Nessie"

"That's not the reason-" Samuel cut me off. It amazed me how he could go from 0 to 100 that quick I mean this kid was furious and had serious problems.

"But okay, let's say it's not about her. That this has nothing to do with Nessie. It's kind of hard for me to accept help from the primary person that it causing myself to behave this way. And from what I heard. You're no better at controlling yourself either. So don't pretend that you reaching out to me is for my damn benefit" Samuel said getting all up in my face. God! if he wasn't Emily son I would of kicked the crap out of him right when he had told me to shut up. He walked away from my face and grabbed the tape from the counter. Right when I was going to set him straight, he started talking again.

"You know no one even likes you anymore. My father may have been strict. And at times controlling but he was helpful, right? As an Alpha that's how he was suppose to be. Doing your job because you wanted nothing to do with this. Your lucky we go by heirs around here because Seth is a billion times better at this than you!" Samuel yelled the last 10 words in my face. I didn't say a thing because I wanted to hear what he had to say about this.

"He deserves to be Alpha not you. Because unlike you he cares about this pack"

Again I was silent because the look on his face mean he wasn't done saying what he had to say.

"How long has it been since I phased and you not once even called to check in on me. That first week, I couldn't even get Seth to leave my house... Forget about the Nessie stuff for a second. Where were you as the Alpha leader of this pack when I phased?... Instead of trying to help me or make me feel better about myself. You blamed me for what happened with Nessie. Yeah, I understand I nearly killed her and if she was completely human I would I have. But you forget that I didn't know anything about this! I didn't know what the hell was going on with me. And I was scared" Samuel voice was shaky and broke causing him to stop talking for a second and within that second. I looked at him. I mean I really looked at him. There it was the emotional true reason why the simple presence of me made him angry because I wasn't there for him when he needed me the most. He was disappointed with my absence in every part of this new life that he had no choice but to live with now. Nessie and the imprinting was just gasoline to him flaming uncontrollable rage. Samuel looked to the floor.

"Turns out the only person who actually could of helped me through that, was to busy with far more important things to do" Samuel said in a low light voice.

"You will never see pass yourself or anything else that doesn't involve or benefit you. This goes far beyond her but that's why you don't deserve her. I hope one day she can finally see that she is better off without you" Samuel bitterness became to show.

"So I'm fine with running and jumping on your command. I'll do my job, I'll do whatever you tell me to do to keep this town safe, to keep her safe but other then that. I'm sure whatever I need or whatever you need from me, we can find some else to do that for us. Cause even Leah has been more helpful with this than you have. Yeah, that should say a lot. Now I have to run. Seth doesn't want me slacking off. And I listen to him because I want too not because I have too... Anything you need to tell me you can say it over the phone. I don't wanna see your face around my house if it's not a dying emergency. You're nothing to me. We can go on the rest of our life's pretending we don't exist to each other until we're in each others heads because if there's anything I hate more than you... is Vampires. Especially the ones that are after Nessie" Samuel said and slammed the back door and he phased.

A Day Later

I really didn't feel like talking to anyone after yesterday so I did what I always did which was stay out in my garage the whole time just fixing any type of stuff that was broken or work on my bikes or car. But today was my car, I was working on it when I heard a sound footsteps coming toward me. My body got filled with energy and excitement. As I heard the footsteps get closer, I smelled a sweet smell of Vanilla that every cell in my body just loved. I knew it was Nessie coming and it amazed me how my body just knew she was near without me even seeing that she was. I was physically happy to see her but emotionally I just wanted to be alone right now. Nessie always could tell when I wanted to be alone and because she knew I would never tell her to leave, she would do it on her own. That made things for us very easy and simple. Which I think we both liked and benefited from.

"Hey" She said in her sweet soothing voice. I quickly looked up at her to acknowledge her presence then continued to work on the car.

"You okay?" She asked.

"Why wouldn't I be okay?" I question.

"I know what Samuel said to you. Embry was there to pick him up when he heard everything" She said and I turned over to my tool box to get a ranch.

"Didn't take long for me to find out" She said and place her bag on the table. Indecating that she wanted to talk about it which was the last thing I wanted to do so I went back to focusing on my car.

"He said what he needed to. Seth called he said that he's getting through to him better now. So" I said plain and simple like it didn't bother me at all.

"You're not even a little hurt by what he said to you?" She questioned and I was quick to answer.

"No. He's just some angry kid-" She cut me off.

"Jake, you don't have to pretend with me. If even I was hurt about what he said to you. I can imagine that so were you" She said. I didn't say a thing just focused on my car which made Nessie snatch the tool ranch out of my hand and close the hood of my car. She raised her eyebrow at me waiting for me to talk.

"He said I was a lousy Alpha. That I didn't deserve to be the Alpha" I finally said. Nessie just looked at me.

"Do you believe that you are?" She asked. I couldn't tell from her tone whether or not she was talking my side or Samuel.

"Do you believe that I am?" I asked because I just had to know if she thought the same as Samuel. She didn't say a thing and her face was blank.

"Jake, Of course not. How can you even ask me that?" She replied. She started to make her way towards me.

"I'm not a wolf so I don't know exactly how this works but. You live by your pack, you're loyal to them. You care for the well-being of your pack"

"Except for when it came to Samuel. I can't deny that he's right and he was in every position to tell me off"

"Yeah, you're right you won't there for him" She totally agreed which stunned me for a second until she continued.

"But with his attitude towards you since he has got here who can really blame you for not wanting to help him?Everyone in the pack phased under Sam's wing. You're new to this too and that's something that Samuel doesn't understand either. You offered your help once that was enough. He is a big boy and if he wanted your help he was capable of asking for it. Just like you all did. When you guys felt that you needed help, when guys felt like you couldn't do this on your own you went to Sam. You're the Alpha. you are not suppose to kiss up to anyone's ass. You know what makes you a good Alpha?" Nessie asked. By this time I had a hidden smile that keep getting bigger by what she was saying.

"What?" I asked.

"You have always protected them no matter what, even if it means you get hurt. Because that what you are, a protector. You have done whatever it takes to keep them alive. They have fought for you, stood by you through everything even with the vampire stuff. I mean they don't doubt you for one second. They trust and believe you will always do right by them. But I can sit here and tell you that you're the most amazing and best Alpha there ever was but it wouldn't mean anything if you don't believe it yourself. That's all you really have to be questioning. If you feel that you are a good Alpha then go on with your day but if you don't then just change your ways but don't even think for a second that you don't deserve the position that was given to you. Which is your birth right... They don't have to follow you just like you, Seth and Leah didn't have to follow Sam. They have a choice Jake. No matter what you command them to do. All they have to do is fight it hard enough to break lose but they don't. Because they don't want to" She said and was just a foot away from me and she looked into my eyes as I did with her. Her left hand raised up and her finger went through the left side of my hair and they kinda just stayed there.

"You're an amazing leader which is why I... Also follow you too. And Sammy will think so too just give him some time. Let him cool down"

"Thank you" I said with a smile on my face which transferred on to Nessie.

"Your welcome, Chief" She joked and we just had this moment. And the best way to describe it was like a spark and I knew she felt it to because she looked at me different but it was a different that I didn't really like because it was a mixture of sadness and confusion.

"So I'm just gonna go inside and finish my homework and I'll come back if your still working- yeah" She quickly said and got her bag then left. I stood there confused as hell. Did she want me to make a move? Did she put me in a position to make a move? And I being the clueless dumbass that I was didn't noticed?

I never thought that things between me and Nessie would get awkward and turn out the way that they are now. I mean I remember when I would think about being in this moment. Of course I always pictured I would be the first to make the move but Nessie completely surprised me when she made the first move without even give off signs that she was there, that she even liked me in that way. This wasn't how I wanted things to be with us but if she was willing to be with Samuel, how much can she probably like me because it hasn't even been that long and she was already trying to be with someone else. Maybe she confused? She's young and doesn't even know what she wants or who she wants to be with.

Thanks for reading. School is about to be over so I will have more time to write. I know I have 34 chapter of nothing happening with Jacob and Nessie but once again I ask that you just be patient with me. I have a new character being added to the story that will require all these chapters and these events that are happening so I need nothing to happen between the two until the new character is introduced but because I know you want them to happen I do more teasers with them and just any other male character with Nessie. Nessie is described in the book as just being beautiful and breath taking so I think it should be no shock to anyone that she has more than one guy pining over her.
