Jacob's POV: Couples Days Later

Nessie basically lives at school now for these pass few days. The only time she would leave is to probably take a shower or go to sleep. As much as I would like all her time to be spent with me. I see that's she's happy with all her school human friends except her best friend Bonnie who was a witch but she was happy. The happiest I had ever seen her since Jeremy's parents passed away. And that's the way I love to see her so I couldn't be mad or upset because she looked happy.

Nessie was so popular in her school that people started to know who I was and know my name. So I quickly became known, my label went from her 'college buff boyfriend' to her 'childhood best friend'. Once it was clear that we were both single, guys would flirt with her even more, girls would try and flirt with me.

The whole thing annoyed the crap out me. I kinda wished that Nessie was more like Bella when she was in high school. Bella just had 4 good friends that she was always with and the Cullens. Bella had free time because she wasn't into all the stuff that Nessie is. Nessie was like Alice, Rosalie, Esmee with a bit of Bella just smushed into one person. Alice was bubbly and liked to take on projects with her creativity. Rosalie was beautiful and talented. Esmee was kind, very caring and warm; loving everyone around her passionately.

So I understand why Nessie was so popular. She ruled the school with her beauty, talent, brains, and her sweet heart. It was impossible not to like her but of course many girls were jealous of her and envied her popularity, talent and beauty. And that where Bella personality comes in. Nessie was insecure and never really realized the girls that didn't like her but she didn't care about any of that because she could never see the dislike the girls had for her

Things between not only with Nessie but with everybody else started to feel strange. Like we were all drifting away from each other. Nessie, Seth and Claire go to school so they have other things to do. Sam and Paul work with Charlie and have families. Jared spends all his time with his girlfriend Kim. Quil spends his time piling over Claire while she enjoys her popularity at school, completely ignoring the fact that she knows her best friend is madly in love with her. Embry, Brady, and Collin didn't come around because they were helping Samuel. I was left alone. Without no one around, which made me miss Nessie even more. Lately I've been thinking that I should have just gone with Nessie to school. It would have given me 7 hours of boring school work but it would all be worth it to spend that 1 hour with Nessie. To know her friends.

It amazed just how much I just needed to be around Nessie. I mean I always felt that need to be around her but now to was stronger and as I began to drown in all my thoughts of Nessie. I heard my front door open then close. I turned around and saw my own personal angle.

"Hey" I smiled at her.

"Hi" she said and smiled back. I looked at the time. She was suppose to be in school right now well on their lunch break.

"What are you doing here?

"Well it's lunch time and you didn't come around plus the sun decided to top out" she said and her eyes over to the window so my eyes followed. When I looked at my window there was this very bright sunlight.

"Oh right" I said. Nessie walked towards me with a bag of what I know was food. There was nothing more satisfying to me than Nessie and her with food. I could smell my favorite Chicken Parmigiana Sub from on of my favorite restaurants Earth, Wind, and Flour. Nessie handed me the sub.

"Thank you" I said.

"Your welcome" she replied.

I started to eat the sub while Nessie just looked at me.

"Are you doing anything this Friday?" She asked.

"No. Why?"

"Because I.. decided to do this event at school and I wanted you to come"

"What type of event?"

"A charity event. I need it for school"

"So being class president. Head of the cheerleading squad and being in every club possible is just not enough for that school"

"Well, I do all those things to spend more time with my friends. I actually need this to graduate high school but making it a big event was kind of my idea. But I kind of need a mechanical friend to fix the school's truck-"

"Ahh and I being your mechanical friend"

"Yeah, so can you do me this favor. Pleease"

"Of course"

Friday

When I finally got the old truck going Nessie cleared out the entire school of things that they didn't need and so some stuff could be auctioned off. It was a lot of stuff but it was early and all the other kids had to be in class while Nessie got a pass to not be in class.

We spent the entire morning, afternoon and a bit of the evening together. Something we haven't done just the two of us in a while. I loved and cherished every second of it until around 8. Where people started to come and Nessie had to leave. I was sitting at a table all by myself until Quil came with Claire then Jared with Kim and then Seth. I was having a good time it felt like a small classy party. The students were playing their instruments, the food was good. Everything was going great but as I'm starting to realize it doesn't stay the way. The table that we were all siting at you could see directly at the entrance where Nessie was greeting people and handing out a list so people could make donations and bid on stuff.

"Ohhh no" we all heard Seth say as he looked towards Nessie. Claire and Kim gasped. I looked as well and there was Samuel coming in with some girl. Nessie was completely bothered by that but didn't show it but I knew her well enough to know that she was bother and uncomfortable with it.

Samuel had sat with her at another table. Embry and Brady had came right after they sat down. Nessie had took a break and came back to sit with us. No one said a thing but the girl were itching to talk about it but Nessie was just on her phone being calm and chill with everything.

Things were still a bit awkward at the table. Nessie did a great job at just brushing things off. Nessie had got up and went to the snack table which wasn't that far from our table. Nessie was getting some punch when Samuel came. If it hadn't been for Kim I could have gone the moment he did.

"Hey" Samuel said like he was nervous. Nessie looked up to acknowledge him.

"Hi" Nessie said dry. She continued what she was doing and even stepped away from him but Samuel followed her step.

"So the scars finally went away" Samuel pointed out.

"Yeah, like 4 days ago" Nessie said again with no emotion.

"Oh, that's good"

"Yeah, it is"

There was a moment of awkward silence. Samuel quickly broke it before Nessie could walk away as her body language and her attitude were signaling she was about to.

"So how have you been?" Samuel asked.

"Fine, you?" Nessie asked not really sounding interested.

"I've been okay I guess. Kinda got the whole wolf thing down or at least that's what everyone been telling me" Samuel whispered to her. Nessie looked at Samuel right in the eye.

"Good. I'm happy for you. I knew you would get it under control. You just needed time" Nessie said. Nessie looked pass Samuel and on to the table where he was sitting. I looked to see the girl Samuel came with and her girl friends. Watching Nessie and Samuel, the girls especially the girl Samuel was with was slowly killing Nessie with her eyes. Nessie focus went back to Samuel.

"Your date. Veronica is it? She's very pretty. You should probably get back to her" Nessie said.

"Ness. Come on don't be like"

"I'm not. She's questioning why you're here talking to me as we speak"

"You can hear her even with all this noise"

"You would be able to too if you focus on her"

"I couldn't even if I wanted too. Because my focus is always on you" Samuel said flirting. Nessie rolled her eyes.

"Samuel just stop okay I don't-"

"Samuel? Since when do you call me Samuel?"

"Since you said we should stay away from each other" she said never looking at Samuel but looking pass him. She was looking at Veronica. Samuel turned around to look at Veronica and her table of friends. Samuel quickly looked back at Nessie who still focusing on the girls.

"What? What? Why do you keep looking back at her" Samuel asked but the way Nessie was looking and acting. She was acting like she was jealous. Was she jealous that Samuel came with another girl?

Samuel finally understood what was up with Nessie.

"The last thing I wanted was to hurt you-"

"Showing up here with her to MY event. You just did" Nessie said and was going to leave but Samuel stood in the way.

"No, no, no, no, it's not like that" Samuel said.

"Have fun with the skirt" Nessie said. Nessie walked away but Samuel aggressively pull her back. And that was it for me I was going to get involved. I stood up but I wasn't the only one so did the rest of the pack. How dared he even lay a finger on her?

Not only was my aggression sensed with all the guys of the pack but so was Samuel I could feel him getting angry.

"Ow!" Nessie couldn't help but say as Samuel firmly and tightly gripped on her arm.

"Get your hands of her!" I yelling pushing him away from her. If I would have pushed him any harder I would have made him fall. We were both ready to fight each other. Right here, right now. We walked towards each fulled with rage but right when we were about fight each other Nessie stood in between us, facing me. My body was burning up and I guess Nessie could see how angry I was so she put her hands on my chest. Her touch was like the cold feeling you crave after feeling being burned and it wasn't only because her body temperature was a few degrees colder than a human's but because that's what she did for me.

"Jacob. Stop. It's okay, you don't wanna make a scene" Nessie whispered. Her voice was so calming to me. I looked down at her and our eyes met. Every ounce of anger I felt went away. Samuel watched the tender way she put her hands on my chest and the way she spoke to me. The way he was looking at her, his rage quickly went away just as mine did. Nessie turned to look at Samuel.

"If don't mind. I have guests to greet" she told him and Samuel stepped away and give Nessie the space to walk away

A Few Hours Later

Nessie was away in the entrance greeting people while i was stuck at the table with the pack, Claire and Kim. It was kind of weird because you had. Jared and Kim sneaking in kisses whenever they could. There was a bit of awkwardness between Claire and Quil. Seth had left and to go talk to his school friends. Embry was tired because of his day job. Brady was looking around trying to find a girl that he didn't know so he could flirt with her. Collin was really the only one that was talking. I was watching Nessie just stand there smiling everytime people came. Occasionally, I would look over at Samuel just to see what he was doing. I found out that Samuel didn't come with that girl. He came with Brady and Embry, the girl came up to him when he was entering so it looked like they came together but didn't. Samuel was the same as I was. Not really interested in anything if it didn't involve Nessie.

After a while, Samuel sat to the table next to mine. The table next to mine had 5 girls and 3 guys. One of the girls I knew, Bonnie. Nessie's "witch" best friend. We never talked but whenever she was around and we saw each other. she would do a small wave or just give me a tiny smile, whatever she did I would do in return. What I didn't know was that Samuel and Bonnie even knew each. They talked like friends. I haven't been spending enough time with Nessie and because she doesn't tell me anything. I wouldn't know that. It got me thinking that Nessie and Samuel spend more time together than I knew about. I mean I go to her school all the time now but we were never around her school friends. It got me thinking that I was a complete dumbass that I never realized that Nessie always wanted to keep me to herself when it came to me. She had always been like that even when she was a kid. Calling me 'My Jake' basically claiming me whenever she got the chance to. When it came to me, I was always her's. Before i thought it was cute but now I loved it because it's true.

I started to get up when I saw Nessie move from where she was and start socializing a bit with a couple of tables. I went over to her because I knew she was upset but tried to hide it and now that Samuel was near our table she didn't want to go back to it.

"Hey" I said. Nessie quickly turned around to talk to me.

"Hey" she greeted all quick and nervous.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Have you seen Seth?" She questioned. Seth. Of course, she was looking for Seth and not me. Of course, she wanted to talk to Seth and not me. That simple question irritated me so much because here I was at this event because of her and she's not even around to begin with and here I was worried about her and all she could think of was running to go talk to Seth the first minute she got.

"Seth? No, i haven't but I'm pretty sure you can find him wherever there's food" i said annoyed and walked straight back to the table.

An Hour Later

After an hour I just got really annoyed and irritated. Nessie was with some table having a good time. Samuel was having a good time basically everyone was having a good time but me. I started to check my phone, weather, news. You know things you do when your bored. Once I had did all that I waited about around half an hour for Nessie to come around.

"You straight man?" Collin asked.

"Where you going?" Embry asked.

"Tell Nessie, I left" I answered getting my jacket so that I could leave.

"Tell her yourself" Embry said.

"Heads up man" Collin said and his eyes pointing to turn around and when I did Nessie was coming my way but I still decided to leave.

"Were you leaving?" She asked so sweetly.

"Yeah, I am" I answered.

"Why?"

"Nessie, I have things to do... Routes and patrols to organize. You asked me to come not stay until it was over"

"Well, I'm asking you now. Jeremy's went to check out a campus in Virginia today. I don't wanna be alone. So can you stay with me?" She asked again using her sweet and innocent voice which was impossible to say no to. I stood there for like a minute when finally walked back to my seat.

"Thank you" Nessie said smiling at me then she went back to her other friends.

So once again I was back to being bored as quickly as it was for Nessie to make it back to her friends.

"Whop-eesh" Brady made a whipping sound indicating that I was whipped. I looked at him then kicked his chair and made him fallen. While the girls silently laughed, Brady sat back on the chair and cleared his throat as I continued to stared at him if he wanted to say something else about it.
