Jacob's POV:
Samuel was sitting next to my table which was a great idea from his part. Nessie was avoiding my table as much as she could but she came by eventually. She sat next to me and we talked for about 20to 35 minutes but of course it didn't take long for someone to come interrupt us. It was a girl probably on her freshman year of high school.
"Oh, Carlie. Everything is set up and ready to go. So whenever you and Seth are ready" the girl said. Nessie smiled and said. "Thank you"
A couple minutes later Seth came by and took a sit right next to Nessie.
"You know, they should really start paying us to do this. I mean homecoming now events" Seth told Nessie. Nessie just chuckled.
"Seth, it's a charity event" she pointed out to him.
"Yeah, you only say that cause you have money" he replied.
"So what are we gonna do? What are we gonna sing?" Seth asked. Nessie thought for a second. I looked at her and it was strange. Before she was acting like she was uncomfortable and now that Seth was here, she wasn't. Before I never noticed any of this stuff. Probably because back then my feelings for Nessie weren't there. I cared for her always, but its like when you start to fall for someone you start to noticed the little things and you start to really notice the people around her and how they make her feel. I couldn't really put a finger on it but Seth made Nessie feel better overall, made her feel comfortable... He mades her feel safe.
"We can try our rock band" Nessie suggested highly excited.
"Nessie, noo" Seth quickly declined.
"Why not?"
"Because"
"So we wrote all those songs for nothing"
"It's not like we had something better to do"
"Come on, please"
"No"
"Please" Nessie said doing her cute innocent voice and her puppy eyes at him.
"No"
"Pleease" Nessie continued with the face.
"No, you know I'm not Jacob. The face doesn't work on me. You can't just... Fine" Seth caved in.
"Yes!" Nessie said happy.
It was literally impossible to not give Nessie what she wanted when she made that face. And it wasn't just me even though she mostly used it on me. It was everyone, she would sucker us into give her what she wanted.
Nessie took out her tablet and her earphones. Nessie had one earphone and Seth had the other.
"So what songs do you wanna do?" Seth asked.
"Madness, for sure" Nessie replied. Once again whenever Nessie and Seth are together, they're only ones who are talking while the rest of us just sit there and watch them talk.
"You can sing that one" Seth said.
"No, you wrote it. Songs that you write, you sing. Songs that I write, I sing. Song we write, we sing together"
"I just don't like the way the end of the third verse is. I mean it doesn't make any sense for me to jump into that note"
"But it's doesn't sound bad"
"But it's doesn't sound good either" Seth said. Him and Nessie started brainstorming on the tablet. Nessie swiped her fingers across the tablet.
"Okay. Umm. What if we cut the verse and turn it into 2 verses. So that way it builds up. In the beginning of the 4th verse and I can add some guitar notes-"
"Which notes?"
"I don't know, I'll make something up. So as it goes on when it gets to 'I have finally realized. I need your..." Nessie sang.
"Yeah, that's good. Which is why you should sing it"
"Oh no buddy, this is your night"
"Nahh, I'm good"
"Well, why do I always have to sing?"
"Maybe because that's what lead singers do"
Seth and Nessie sat there planning, organizing, and arranging the songs and everything else.
"I don't know which one to sing" Nessie said looking at her tablet.
"You have hundreds just pick one" Seth said. After a minute Seth started to think.
"Oh, oh, oh. Damn what was the name of that song. That one where you went all crazy with the guitar... Something with a code"
"Oh, oh, oh. I think i know what song your talking about. You mean this one"
"Yeah that one. Damn that's a good song"
"Aww thank you. But since we doing rock band thing. I think you might.." Nessie just paused in thought and Seth just stared at her like he was similar with what she was saying.
"What do you have scrambling in that big mind of yours?" Seth asked. Nessie smiled and closed her tablet.
"Let's go find out" Nessie said and grabbed Seth by the arm and just left.
As they left everyone has this confused looked on their face.
"Did anyone else understand-" Claire stopped as she noticed everyone's else face.
"Yeah, We whenever do" she finished. I knew what she was going to say. That we never understood what Nessie and Seth talk about. It was like they were speaking in code
An Hour Later
Nessie, Seth and the rest of the band performed for the guest. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the performance the students better than the adults here.

When the band got off stage and Nessie and Seth were coming to sit back at my table. A woman approach them with a man both of them probably in their late 50s.
"Wow. I'm impressed. I didn't know how it would go with it being a last minute thing. But god, Great Performance" the woman said and clapped.
"Thank you" Nessie and Seth both said.
"Can I talk to both of you in private for a second?" The man said looking at our table as we all looked at them.
"Sure" Seth said and Nessie nodded.
Nessie, Seth and the man talked for about 10 minutes. After both Nessie and Seth looked at each other and then looked very very upset. Seth said something then walked away. Nessie had this very sad look as she watched Seth leave. Nessie stood there for a minute and I saw the man hand her something then he left.
Seth went home right after and Nessie still looked upset throughout the night while she still bounced from table to table talking to all her friends.
The event was finally over. Nessie said bye to all her friends and all the other people that showed up.
"Ready to go?" Nessie asked.
"I've been ready for the last 2 hours" I said and quickly got up and we left.
Later On
Nessie and I walked towards my car. When we were a couple of feet away, someone called "Hey!" And I think tapped Nessie on the shoulder because she turned around and then so did i.
It was that girl Veronica.
"That was a great performance. You have a very nice voice" she said but you could seek out the jealousy and sarcasm from her voice.
"Thank you" Nessie replied.
"I'm sorry you don't know me. We go to the same school. I'm Veronica. Samuel's girlfriend. Carlie Cullen Masen right?" Veronica said with just such hidden envy and obviously marking her territory on Samuel. Nessie just looked at me quick with a bit of confusion in her eyes.
"Yeah" she nodded.
"So how do you know Samuel?" She quickly asked.
"Friend of my family's. You can practically say we grew up together" Nessie said with hesitation and just wanted to leave as the subject of Samuel made her irritated and uncomfortable.
"Aw how cute. We should get to know each other some time... We should double date. All four of us" Veronica said and glanced at me. Nessie let out a chuckle.
"Oh no. We're-we're not together" she quickly said.
"Right. It's just you two are leaving together around midnight. But whatever my mistake" Veronica took a pause.
"What about the guy you were singing with. Seth?" She asked.
"No, he's just my best friend" Nessie answered.
"What about Mat-" Nessie cut Veronica off.
"I'm single" Nessie said to just clear everything up.
"Ohh how sad" Veronica said sarcasticlly with a laugh at the end. She quickly turned to see that Samuel was coming. Once Samuel saw Veronica talking to Nessie, he tried to rush his way over.
"Oh, well my boyfriend is coming. I have to go. Bye" she quickly said and tried to avoid Samuel from coming towards us. But he did anyway.
"What were you all talking about?" Samuel asked as a general question but only kept his eyes on Nessie. I didn't say a thing and neither did Veronica.
"Nothing worth repeating. It was nice meeting you. Have a nice night you two" Nessie said upset but tried to hide it by sounding relaxed and calm in her tone.
"Oh, we will" Veronica just shot back and felt up his arm right in front of us. Nessie watched the way her hand felt up his shoulder and the face she put on wasn't jealousy at all. She felt more sorry for the girl than being jealousy of her. That moment Nessie turned her back.
"Wait, we're not a two. We're just a one and a one" Samuel said trying to make it clear that they were not together. Samuel moved away from Veronica's grasp and step forwards Nessie but he didn't do that without taking a look at me even if it was less than a second.
"I honestly don't care" Nessie said but was looking directly at Veronica.
"Jacob, can you please take me home now?" Nessie said to me and we got a very disapproval look from Samuel. I smirked a little and nodded "of course" and I gently placed my hand on Nessie's back to guide her to my car and away from them. I could hear Samuel's heavy disappointed sigh.
My car wasn't that far away so I know me and Nessie both heard. The talk Samuel and Veronica were having after we walked away and we're closer to my car.
"What did you say to her?" Samuel asked.
"Nothing, she doesn't already know" Veronica said starting to get an attitude.
"What did you say?" Samuel said again but Veronica didn't say anything because she had already accomplished what she wanted to do. She wanted to make it seem like she and Samuel were more than friends so Nessie could leave him alone.
"What did you say to her?!" Samuel yelled with such anger that stopped Nessie from getting in the car and looking back at Samuel.
"Jacob" Nessie whispered to me, worried that he might do something stupid. God, this kid has serious anger issues. I understand why he would be angry and why he would get angry but there's a certain level you get to where you can't blame it on your problems/people or who you are anymore. The problem is him. Sooner or later if things continue to be this way for him. The pack and I will have to be prepared for the worst or Sam and Emily are going to have to find a way to keep him at home at all times.
"Go try and talk to him. Calm him down before he does something stupid in front of these people" Nessie said to me. I looked back at Samuel who probably heard what Nessie said because Samuel was looking at us.
"You know what forget it. You walk yourself to your own car" Samuel said his tone hiding his rage. Samuel took one look at Veronica and just walked away.
"Samuel! SAMUEL!" She called after him. Samuel turned around to look at her but didn't turn back around towards her. He just keep walking forward.
"FINE. HAVE A NICE WALK BACK TO YOUR HOUSE" she yelled and Samuel keep walking which made her even madder that she stomped feet all the way to her car.
Nessie looked at me shocked like she couldn't even believe what just happened. I looked back at her the same way then she got in the car and so did i.
I turned on my car and made my way out of the parking space. Nessie and I saw Samuel still walking out on the street by himself because everyone else was to busy still talking to each other. I started to slow down to pick him up and give him a ride home because he was angry and he was part of my pack and my family and I cared for him enough to not see him get hurt plus Emily would probably yell at me if she found out I left her kid stranded out in the street. Samuel heard the car and turned around and saw us driving towards him. Samuel got off the street and headed towards the woods then started running until we watched him phase. Samuel stopped and did a low tone howl. Nessie looked to me if asking if everything was alright.
"He's just calling Seth" I told her. Overtime we all managed to recognize each others howls in our human forms. Each one was different, each one sounded different even though to others they all sounded the same. It was like we had your own code for calling certain members of the pack and they would be the only ones to hear it if they were far. I heard it because I was close enough but nobody else hear it except for Seth.
Nessie watched as Samuel howled and she slouched back on the seat and sighed as she watched him while we drove passed him.
35 Minutes Later
I drove Nessie to Jeremy's. Jeremy was gone and this would be the first time Nessie and I would be completely alone without any interruption and without people getting involved. This would be the first time we were alone since I realized my feelings for her. And I was kind of nervous about that which was odd because we hang out all the time. She was my best friend, what did I have to be nervous about? But now that I have feelings for Nessie everything she does I love and find so cute and sexy. Simple things like the way she passes her hand through her hair.
Nessie and I spent the entire night just watching movies having little side conversations. But it came that time where there was nothing to watch. Nessie was flipping through channels looking for something to watch. Nessie turned to look at me.
"Would I sound completely mean if I say that I'm glad Jeremy is not here?" She confessed with a chuckle and she made me blush a bit and smile.
"I miss this" she said.
"Yeah, me too" I said.
Nessie turned off the T.V. And then faced me to give me her full attention.
"Alright so let's catch up. What do you wanna talk about until we get sleepy?" She asked.
"Whatever you want to talk about" I answered.
"You. I wanna talk about you" she said
"I have nothing to say. Nothing, you don't already know... What about you?" I asked. Nessie frowned and moved her body facing the T.V instead of me.
"I knew that would happen" she said. She laid back on the couch looking at the ceiling then she glanced at me.
"Do you remember when Samuel came back? And me and him were spending a lot of time together?"
Damn. I can't believe that we were about to talk about Samuel. I mean I already knew a lot. More than Nessie knew that I knew of.
"Yeah" I said sighing. Nessie then stood up and faced me again.
"Well, I had a talk with Seth and he said that I was making you feel upset... because it was like I was choosing to spend more time with him than you... And when I really thought about it, I was. But I was only doing that mainly because I missed him... Not for any other reasons"
So she doesn't like him?
"Then everything happened with his phasing. And Samuel says I snapped at him but I don't know what I said or did because he wouldn't tell me. But then me and him started talking more. And it was easier to talk to him now that he had phased and he knew everything now. Without me feeling like I was hiding apart of me or that i was lying to him. And then I- I don't know. I just-" she paused and just stood up frustrated.
"Why is it so difficult for me to talk you now?" She said sadly then I stood up too.
"Nessie-" Was all that I could say while i reached for her hand but the vibration of her phone made us stop to look at the coffee table where her phone was. Nessie picked up her phone before i could read the notification. Nessie swiped her phone and her widen. The text made her sit back on the couch.
"Oh my god" she said.
"What?" I questioned
"We sold everything. And we made over $7,000 in donations... I'm getting an 'A' in service learning" she said what sounded like good news but Nessie looked all bummed out.
"You don't really seemed as thrilled as you sound" i said. I sat back on the couch too. And Nessie just lightly scatched her head. She turned to face me. Her face still looking all sad and bummed out.
"I got an early acceptance to the university of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. All I have to do is get all my class credits. Clearing my service learning today. I just got one step closer" she said. I was a bit surprised at this moment. I knew Nessie was very smart but she was just
"How did you even get accept? but more importantly are you going to take it?" I asked
"A woman from M.I.T showed up to my school's science fair. She was impressed with my work. She later then told me that she wanted me to go there by the end of this school year. She called and give all the information but she said to Charlie. The information went straight to my dad. And he made it clear that I couldn't go"
"Maybe he just wants you to enjoy. High school and not fast track everything"
"No. That's not why he said I couldn't go. The only reason M.I.T. wants me is because I invented a breathalizer to show early symptoms of beast cancer and help eradicate it. But of course I don't have access to all the materials I need for it in high school. That's why they want me to go there because sure enough if I had all the materials I needed. I can make it happen"
"You wanna know something else. Mr. Wilson has friend of a friend in the recording business... That's what he pulled me and Seth away for. Seth quickly declined. And I stood there and didn't say a thing. He said I had until Monday to give him an answer. This whole time. I keep my singing and song writing to myself because I thought I wasn't good enough. But I have so many people telling me that I am good. And I'm starting to believe them"
"You are good. Your amazing but you can't accept that and you should listen to your dad about M.I.T." I said and Nessie didn't say a thing, she wasn't even looking at me, at this point.
"Nessie, this is all great and we all know that you can do anything you set your mind to. But your half a vampire. You can't risk that type of exposure" I said and she got a little teary but she nodded.
"I know. I know I just needed to hear it from someone else you know.. So what am I suppose to do with the rest of my life? I can't find ways to cure cancer, I can't be a big superstar. Not like either one would really happened but I can dream right. Well I guess not anymore. What am I supposed do if I can't pursue the things that I'm really passionate about? Things that I'm really good at?" She asked but she knew I didn't know how to answer that. Nessie took a deep breath and stood up.
"Its really late. I'm gonna go to bed" she said and made her way to the stairs.
"Aren't you coming?" She asked me.
"Yeah in a sec. I'm just gonna check in with everyone real quick" I said.
"Okay" she replied and went upstairs.
After I made sure everything was okay and everyone was safe. I went upstairs, Nessie was already in bed and I was going to sleep in Jeremy's room while he was gone.
I went to sleep shortly after but then I woke up. i went to the bathroom which happened to be connected to Nessie's bedroom and open Nessie's bedroom door to check on her. I went in to watch her sleep. To see how peaceful she looked. I moved her hair away from her face and just took in her beauty. God, she was so beautiful. I went back to Jeremy's room to go back to sleep.
It was around 8 in the morning when I woke up again but it was to the sound of Nessie's voice. When I have woke up last night to check on her, I had left her door open so I heard what she was saying. She had called Mr. Wilson the guy with the friend of the record company to deny the offer. I heard the sadness and disappointment in her voice. After the call Nessie went back to bed.
I couldn't go back to sleep so I waited for Nessie to drift off into sleep.
I went to the Cullens's house to talk with them about Nessie leaving Forks after she graduates from high school. I went to their house but no one was there then I went to Edward's and Bella's cottage and Bella was there. Bella was folding clothes that looked like they could be Nessie's. Bella turned and acknowledged me.
"Surprise to see you here without Renesmee-" I quickly cut her off.
"Did you know Nessie got into M.I.T.?" I asked my tone sounded angry which I kind of was.
"Yeah. Charlie sounded so happy over the phone, I got scared that he might have a heart attack. Why do you asked?" She asked looking confused on why I seemed to be having a problem with it.
"Because she told me. And she is really bummed out that she can't do"
"Can't go? She said she didn't wanna go"
"Probably cause her father had already told her that she couldn't go"
"Why? I mean we all had talked about this" Bella said and continued. That line was like a slap in the face to me because she and her entire family talked about what they were all going to do after Nessie finishes high school. I mean they were all going to leave and take Nessie with her. Them knowing Damn well that I can't leave my home but only because of my family but because of my pack. I'm they're alpha. We are a pack, we're pack hunters. And I'm the best one of all if I leave who's going to lead them and kill the vampires that come across here?
"Once Renesmee graduates. She can go to whatever university, she wants to go to. Harvard, Yale, or Princeton we know one of those for sure because of Char-" I cut Bella off. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, M.I.T. those are all literally on the opposite side of the country.
"Wait.. you've all talked about this! Without talking about with ME!"
"Jacob. We were going to tell you but you don't come around as often as you use too"
"I have a phone you know!"
"Well, What did you think was going to happen? That we were all just gonna stay here.. Forever"
"My mistake. Bella! that's exactly what I thought was going to happen. I never planned on her leaving my side!"
"Then maybe you should tell her how you feel! Don't start yelling at me and getting angry with me because after all this time, you still can't get yourself to tell her how you feel and that you imprinted on her" Bella shot at me. Her last comment left me with nothing to say.
"Yeah, I thought so" she said and started to walk away from me.
"They offered her record deal" I said that made Bella stop and turn around.
"What? When?" She asked.
"Yesterday" I answered. Bella stood there frozen.
"What did she say?" She asked.
"This morning she called and said no. She was pretty upset about it" I answered. Bella walked up to me.
"You can't tell anyone. Especially Edward" she said giving me her face that might she was serious.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Because he already wants to pull her out of school. She's becoming very famous in this town. If you know what I mean. If Renesmee continues to get more 'popular' we're out of here... The only reason we haven't left is because of what happened with Jeremy. You saw how bad she got so we all decide to let her stay and give her more time with him. but he's a smart kid and with an opportunity to become a baseball player. Same for Matthew with his football opportunity. Edward doesn't want Renemee around them if things starts to go good for them. And Renesmee continues with this type of popularity. Not only will he take her out of school but out of state. But for sure in two more years. We'll be gone" Bella said.
