The Real Winner

Toffee entered the house, and yelled excitedly, "I got a raise! I'm the clerk now! Nearly ten dollars an hour, and no sucky tipping system!"

Charlie ran, and tackle/hugged her around the waist. The grandparents cheered from the bed, and Mr. and Mrs. Bucket cheered from the kitchen.

Charlie felt the forgotten chocolate bar in Toffee's pocket, and said, "Toffee, what's this?"

She pulled it out, and remembered. She handed it to him, and said, "I bought this for you on your birth day so you could have another go at that ticket thing. But, well, it's over now, so, you can have the chocolate then."

Charlie hugged his sister again, saying 'thank you' about a dozen times, then started to peel open the bar.

The grandparents leaned forward to see.

Mr. Bucket piped in from the kitchen, "Turns out the ticket in Russia was a fake, imagine that," just as Charlie finished unwrapping the Wonka bar.

He flipped the bar over, and the flash of gold made him gasp.

Toffee said under her breath, "That's Wonka's last golden ticket." She hugged Charlie, and said loudly, "You found Wonka's last golden ticket!"

She grabbed his hands (after he had placed the precious ticket on the bed for the whole family to see), and started to dance around the house with him.

Charlie started to sing, "We're going to the factory! We're going to the factory!"

Mr. Bucket examined the ticket, and said, "Charlie, it says that you have to be occompanied by a chaperone."

Toffee's eyes widened, and she said, "May I please go with Charlie?"

Mrs. Bucket smiled, and said, "Of course."

Toffee yelled a cry of victory along with Charlie, and started dancing again.

The next day, Mr. Wonka sat in front of his television, watching intently for the winner of the fifth ticket.

Suddenly, a special report came on, and Mr. Wonka jumped in his seat. He turned the volume up, and listened as the reporter said, "This just in. The fifth ticket has been found by a boy named Charlie Bucket."

Mr. Wonka thought, "Bucket, Bucket, where do I know that name from?"

Then, they showed a view of Charlie, a skinny young man of about ten, standing with-

"TOFFEE! I knew it!"

The reporter asked Charlie, "Charlie, who is this charming lady you're with?"

The thin little boy puffed up his chest, and said, "This is Toffee, my older sister! She bought me the Wonka bar with the ticket in it for my birthday!"

Toffee blushed a little bit, and waved childishly at the camera.

Mr. Wonka cheered, "This is perfect! This little boy will be the perfect heir, and Toffee's coming with him!"

The door to his office swung open quietly, and Doris stepped inside. She was holding a calender in her right hand, and she showed it to him, silently reminding him that the tour was tomorrow.

Mr. Wonka nodded, and said, "Well, let's get ready! We've got to get rid of those other kids somehow!"

Doris shot him a stern look, silently saying, "At least give the others a chance."

Mr. Wonka rolled his eyes, and said, "Well, if they fail the test I give them, I won't have a choice. I really want Charlie as my heir!"

Doris thought for a bit, then gave up, and nodded 'alright'.

Mr. Wonka grabbed his coat, and said, "Alright, let's boogie!"
