Fireflies

Chapter Nineteen

Lilith looked out across The City of Angels. Her eyes glowed with power as she stared at the unsuspecting city. Excalibur was strapped to her back and in her left hand was Jelico's tooth. She glanced back at the army of demons, vampires, and what was left of the Death Head clan of werewolves. Her brother was dead, Dracula had been killed by Carmilla. She smirked a bit, his arrogant nature got him killed. Chains rattled making her look to her right. Allison struggled to get free, however the chains were golden.

"Remind this city why we once ruled them" she ordered.

Suddenly her army ran past her. She heard people start screaming and cars crashing. Looking down she watched as they started killing humans. She smiled cruelly before walking over to the angel. "Shall we go meet Jelico?" She asked smiling before pulling on the chains.

Jade coughed as she pushed herself out of some rubble. Sitting up she looked to see Tori's werewolf form stand up. It shook the dust off of itself before looking to the right. Sikowitz pulled Carmilla from the rubble. Both were injured and had blood dripping off of their bodies. The rubble shifted again and the Death Angels climbed out. All six looked around doing a quick head count.

"What now, she has Excalibur?" Jade asked.

"Wouldn't be a problem if your fucking werewolf hadn't given her the damn tooth in the first place" Cale growled throwing his hand at Tori. He looked at her as her ears flattened and she let out a soft whine.

"Oh fuck you" Jade hissed at him.

"He's right" Tori said. She walked up in her human form. "I let weakness befall me. Thus it led us to the situation we are in now" she said softly.

"Look, it doesn't matter what happened, all that matters is we right this" Miles said making everyone look at him.

"He's right, we need to get to the tar pits" Sikowitz said walking over to them. He looked to see everyone looking at him.

"How do you know they are going there?" Tori asked.

"I've been doing research. Merlin imprisoned Jelico there" He said looking at her.

"What about a way to kill him?" Samuel asked.

"I haven't found anything yet" he responded.

"War is coming, we need to be ready to fight, find out what you can" Samuel said reloading his HK-94.

"Well, y'all can deal with it. I killed Dracula, that's all that I was here for" Carmilla shrugged before looking to Summer. She walked over to her and looked at her. "Come with me, I can give you a life" she pleaded stroking her cheek.

"I know you can" Summer purred leaning into her hand. "But, my place is with my family. I cannot abandon them" she said solemnly.

Carmilla pulled back, it was clear she was hurt. She turned her head away from Summer. "Fine, get killed, see if I care" she growled before turning and running off.

Ashley sat there crying softly, knowing her girlfriend was going to go fight. She looked up to Nikki as she walked over to her. Kneeling down she reached into her vest. Pulling out a golden neckless she took it off and placed it into her hands.

"Promise me, promise me you will come back" Ashley cried looking into her eyes.

Slowly she leaned forward and placed a loving and tender kiss on her lips. They looked into each others eyes. "I love you" she said softly.

"Promise" Ashley demanded.

"I can't" she said solemnly. she stood up and turned to the group who waited on her. "Let's go" Nikki said walking forward, everyone else moving with her. As they walked a TV screen glowed as scenes were shown. Los Angeles was being devastated by the attack. Ashley sat there, crying loudly. She clutched onto the neckless, hoping and praying her lover would come back to her.

Lilith walked down main street. A vampire on her right, pulling Allison along with it. On her left was a werewolf. They walked down the street, her eyes focused on the tar pits ahead. She looked as people were being slaughtered around her. The scent of the blood filled her nose making her smile.

She looked around as news and police helicopters hovered around. However her eyes caught something. Two fast moving lights coming straight for the city. She knew they were military helicopters. With a smirk she raised her hands. Flames wrapped around them. The helicopters came in fast. With a flash of light, she punched her fist out.

Fireballs slammed into them causing them to crash into buildings. She smiled as she looked at the burning wreckage around her. They continued walking forward. They looked around as war raged around them. She smiled to see humans loosing. The wind swirled making her stop and look ahead. Standing in front of her was a line. She smiled, the ones pure of heart stood before her. Behind them were the Death Angels and several werewolves and angels.

"Good, I was hoping for a challenge" Lilith said smirking.

Jade gripped onto her sword and looked at Tori. The werewolf looked at her before looking back to the demon Queen. Sighing Jade turned to look at the group. "This is our last stand. If she gets to the tar pits, game over. It all ends tonight" she said looking at everyone. There was a loud shriek making them look back. They looked to see demons swarming to their Master. There must have been thousands of them. They looked at one another before back to Jade. "Let's end this" she screamed before charging the horde.

"Capture the Death Angels and the ones pure of heart, kill the rest" Lilith ordered pointing forward.

The small group charged the massive horde. Jade led the charge, screaming as she firmly gripped onto her sword. Bullets whizzed past her. She glanced back to see the hunters firing as they ran. A line of angels joined her in their charge. Werewolves jumped over them. They were led by Tori. Suddenly they crashed together. Bodies squirmed and fought each other.

Jade screamed out as she swung her sword cutting the head off of a demon. She looked as other werewolves charged her. However they were intercepted by Tori and two other werewolves. Turning she ducked under the sword slash of a vampire. Swinging her sword she cut his head off.

Cale slid under the sweeping claws of a werewolf. Spinning around he snapped his gun up and fired quickly into it. He watched as the beast fell to the ground. Jumping up he looked to see Nikki by his side. Summer and Drake came up to join them. They looked as a mass of demons moved for them. They looked at one another, their masks gleaming in the firelight. The four snapped their assault weapons up. They fired on the mass killing many.

Tori stabbed her clawed hand into the chest of a demon. She picked it up and ripped it apart. Glancing up she saw two reaper drones flying past. However both were shot down by fireballs. Looking forward she saw Lilith looking at the crashing drones. With a roar she charged forward at her. Jumping through the air she prepared to come down on the queen. Suddenly her hand shot up and grabbed Tori.

"Did you really think I couldn't smell you?" Lilith said smirking as she looked back at her. Spinning around she slammed Tori into the ground. She cracked the road below her making her howl in pain. Picking her back up she smirked at her. "I know every inch of your body". Her tongue came out and licked her fur covered ear. "I know everything about your body and your scent" she purred before throwing her at a car.

Tori slammed into it and grunted. She looked up as Lilith smirked at her before throwing two more fireballs up at a helicopter. It crashed into another building.

Cale and Nikki looked up as more helicopters crashed into buildings. "How much longer before a full mobilization?" Nikki asked looking over to Cale as he reloaded his gun.

"Twenty minutes" he responded firing the gun.

"We won't last twenty minutes" Nikki said looking up as another helicopter crashed.

Suddenly there was a bright flash making them look. Lilith stood on an over turned tractor trailer. In her hand she gripped onto Tori and Mitch. She held them up and slowly looked out across the battle as it ground to a halt. "Everyone, lay down your arms, and surrender" she ordered looking at them.

"Don't do it" Mitch shouted.

Everyone looked at one another. Cale looked to Nikki, Summer, and Drake. They slowly sat their guns down. They looked to see Jade set her sword down. The surviving angels sat their swords down. Lilith pointed to Jade and the death angels. They were brought to her. "Kill the rest" she ordered. Jade tried to scream as her soldiers were ripped apart.

They looked back up to Lilith who was looking at them. She smiled as the people were restrained. Looking over to Mitch glared at her. With a flick of her wrist she snapped his neck. "Sorry our reunion was like this" she said chuckling before looking back to the group. She tossed Tori down to the group below. The demons restrained her too. She looked at them before looking down the road. The tar pits were close. Slowly she walked though the group. She motioned the others to be brought along. Walking up to the tar pits she smiled.

"This world has forgotten of our power" she said to herself. Walking up to a rock she looked as Allison was brought up to the rock with her. She gripped onto the tooth before grabbing the sword. "The world has grown complacent. You all failed to stop me" Lilith said looking to the group. She pushed Allison in front of her. "Jade, did you ever wonder who your mother is?" Lilith asked making Jade look up at her.

"Lilith don't" Allison hissed up at her.

"Awe, did I hit a nerve?" The demon Queen asked smiling evilly. She looked as Jade stared at her. "Ask her" she said pushing on Allison's shoulder.

Jade looked at Allison who lowered her head. "Allison?" She asked confused.

"Jade, she's your mother. She was around you for almost your whole life. Think about it" Lilith said tapping her head.

Jade looked at Allison who looked at her. A tear dripped from their eyes as they stared at one another. "Jade, I'm sorry" Allison said sadly as she lowered her head.

Lilith smiled as she looked to Allison. Leaning down she placed a kiss on her cheek. "Now, now you are ready to die" Lilith said placing Excalibur up to her throat.

"Today, is the day that..."

Suddenly a gunshot rang out. Lilith gasped in pain. She looked down to see a bullet hole in her chest. Everyone looked up to see a man walking up behind her. The scarred mask told them it was Samuel. He looked as Lilith fell to her knees. Gripping his knife he stabbed it into her head. He smiled before removing his mask. He kicked the dead demon into the tar pit. He looked over to Allison.

"Dad, get us out, the demons are scattering" Cale called up to him.

Samuel looked to them as he picked up the tooth and sword. He looked to Allison before looking to his children. Lowering his head he looked at the items in his hands. Rain started to pour down around them. Looking back up to the sky lighting streaked overhead. Looking back to the group he had a somber look on his face. Cale and Nikki looked at one another. They looked back up to their father.

"I am sorry" he said.

Suddenly he swung his sword cutting the wings off of Allison's back. She snapped her head up, wailing in agonizing pain. Suddenly he grabbed her hair and slit her throat. Blood gushed out in bright red arcs. He heard everyone screaming out, protesting his actions. He looked at them as he placed the tooth into the gushing blood. Once it was covered in her blood he kicked her into the tar.

"Jelico, I summon you" he shouted tossing the tooth into the tar.

He looked down as the tar started bubbling more. It started to glow as if it was being heated up. Suddenly it exploded upwards. Smoke and flames followed the tar into the air.

"Who has summoned me and awakened me from my slumber?" A deep and booming voice sounded.

"You're new master, rise and fulfill my vengeance" Samuel cried out.

He looked as horns started to slowly lift up. He looked as the fire drake pulled itself free. Jelico knocked a building over before walking on all fours towards Samuel. The beast lowered its head down to look at Samuel.

"A human, the last human who unleashed me was weak" Jelico growled looking at him.

"I assure you, I am not him" Samuel said his hands coming to a rest on the hilt of the sword.

"Very well, what do you command?" Jelico asked staring into Samuel's eyes.

"Kill all immortals, every single one in this world" he said looking at the dragon.

"Does this command include angels?" Jelico asked in a booming voice.

Samuel looked at Jade as she and his kids started running away. He looked back up to the dragon as it awaited his answer. "Yes" he replied coldly.

"Very well" Jelico growled before rearing up. Throwing his arms out he revealed they were wings. Flapping them he took off into the air flying over Samuel. "I am fire, I am... Death" he said as suddenly his chest started to glow. The glow started to move up his throat. Suddenly fire shot out of his mouth and started to destroy LA.

Jade and Tori stood in a building with the Death Angels. They all watched as the dragon circled over the city. The hordes of demons kept it focused on the city. They all looked at one another before looking back across the city. The fires burned brightly making them glow.

"It's time to fulfill the prophecy" Jade said looking to Tori who nodded back.
