A/N: Okay, chapter number twelve!

Disclaimer: I don't own Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. There, I said it.

Violet the (Almost) Human Blueberry

Violet was standing next to a large machine near the center of the room.

Willy saw what it was, then giddily said, "Watch this!" then pulled the gigantic lever on the side.

A large rotating light on the top of the machine started flashing, and a large series of noises slammed to life.

The colorful liquid from one part of the machine started to bubble and flow through the pipes into different parts of the machine.

The machine let out a loud siren, and a mechanical arm slid towards the group. A small slot came from the arm, and extended farther forward, from which a thin rectangle of what looked like cardboard extended.

Once the small strip had completely extended, the machine let out a signifigantly smaller chime, and shut down.

This one confused the whole group.

Mike said in his dull voice, "You mean that's it?"

Willy turned around to face the little goblin, and said (just slightly miffed), "Do you know what 'it' is?"

Mike just stared rudely.

Violet piped up from the back of the group, "It's gum!" (She was a little excited to find a single piece of gum in this entire factory.)

Willy said in a quick, almost hyper voice, "And it's also the greatest strip of chewing gum in the entire world! You know why, know why?" He paused, as if he was expecting an answer, then went on ranting, "Because this piece of chewing gum is a three-course dinner all in itsself!"

Toffee smiled, and started to clap slowly.

Mr. Salt said in his dull voice, "Why would anyone want that?"

Toffee glared at at Veruca's father, and started yelling at him as Willy fumbled for his cuecards, "It would be the end of world hunger! Can't you see? This is extraordinary! Mr. Wonka has created an entire meal in just one strip of gum!"

Behind her, Willy finally found the correct card. He said victoriously, "Just one strip of Wonka's chewing gum is all you will need for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! This particular piece happens to be tomato soup, roast beef, and blueberry pie!"

Veruca glared at Toffee, and said to Willy, "It sounds weird!"

Violet's eyes lit up, and she said, "Sounds like my kind of gum!"

She swiped the piece of gum from the machine, and carefully placed her record-winning piece behind her ear.

Willy's smile disappeared, and he said warily, "I wouldn't do that if I were you... it's still a little faulty..."

Mrs. Beauregard waved Mr. Wonka off, and said, "That's ridulous! My little girl is going to be the first to have a chewing gum meal!"

Violet's smile faded, and she started to set the strip of gum down. She said a little uncertainly, "Mom, I don't think-"

She was cut off by her mother, saying, "Oh, don't be ridulous! Go on, Violet!"

Violet frowned, and said, setting the piece down, "I think we should listen to Mr. Wonka."

Mrs. Beaurergard frowned, and said, "Fine. If you don't want to, I'll do it!"

She grabbed the strip of gum, and popped it into her mouth.

Violet gasped, "Mom!"

But Mrs. Beauregard just chomped on the gum, and after a few seconds, said, "Oh! I can taste the tomato soup! I can feel it running down my throat!" Willy just smiled nervously, and said, "Yeah! Spit it out!"

She just glared at him, and said, "Now it's roast beef! And baked potato!"

Toffee turned to face Willy, and said, "So, what exactly is wrong with the formula?"

Willy frowned, and said, "It's fine, but it gets a little funny at the-"

Mrs. Beauregard said in pure awe, "Blueberry pie and ice-cream!"

Willy smiled nervously, and said, "That part."

Violet, from behind Charlie, said, "Mom, what's happening to your nose?"

Her mother said in a confused voice, "What do you mean?"

Toffee said in a horrified voice, "She's turning violet."

Mrs. Beauregard frowned, and held up her hand. A dark shade of violet was starting to spread from beneath the sleeve of her track suit.

She gasped. The rest of the group slowly backed away as the color spread larger over her nose, and started to cover her entire face.

Mrs. Beauregard said frantically, "Mr. Wonka? What's happening to me?"

Willy just stared in pure horror, and said in a soft voice, "It's alway goes a little funny at the blueberry pie... I'm terribly sorry..."

Suddenly, he ducked his head underneath one of the machines as Mrs. Beauregard started to swell up.

Charlie looked up at Violet's mother, who was growing taller and taller from the swelling, and said, "She's blowing up!"

Toffee nodded, and said in a low undertone, "Like a blueberry."

Mrs. Beauregard was screaming for someone to help her, but the other members of the group just backed away.

A couple seconds later, Mrs. Beauregard stopped swelling, and Willy suddenly stood up from beneath the machine. He came up behind Toffee, and started talking very quickly, startling her.

"I've tried it on, like, twenty Oompa-Loomaps, and they've all turned out as blueberries. It's just weird!" he said, oddly cheerful.

He cupped his hand to his mouth, and called an Oompa-Loompa. An assistant came from nowhere, and bowed. Willy smiled, and said, "I want you to take Mrs. Beauregard to the Juicing Room, get all the juice out of her."

Violet said in a slightly concerned voice, "What will they do to her there?"

Willy smiled, and said, "They're gonna squeeze her, like a little pimple!"

Violet giggled a little at this image, then heard her mother yelling, "Violet! Don't just let these tiny little cretins take me away!"

She sighed, then walked forward to push her mother through the doorway to the boat. But then she paused, and ran back to Charlie. She gave him a light peck on the cheek, then ran off towards her mother.

She placed her hands firmly on her mother's bloated body where it was stuck in the doorway, and gave a hard shove.

Charlie frowned a little bit as he watched the boat leave, and he sighed. Willy placed one of his gloved hands on his shoulder, and said softly, "You'll see her again."

Mike's father piped up, "Shouldn't we get on with the tour?"

Willy turned around, and said, "Oh! Yeah, uh, follow me!"

Toffee knelt down, and hugged her little brother around the neck.

Willy looked behind him, and saw them in that calm embrace. He smiled, then said, "Come on!"

A/N: I hope you like the direction I took with this chapter. I didn't really like what I had written originally, so I changed it a little bit, and, well, here you are! :)
