Well a new chapter is here. It's one of those super sad tear jerking hatred of me inducing chapters. Its the last chapter too next one will be the epilogue. Chapter Twenty Two

Jade looked at Samuel who glowed with energy. He was starting to have horns grow from his head. His hair was glowing with the golden color. He gripped onto his sword and stared up at her. His eyes slowly drifted over to focus on his unconscious children. His eyes twitched before he shook his head. He focused once more onto the angel.

"Your grandfather sealed me, this time, no descendant of Poseidon will take me down" Jelico said through Samuel.

"Don't you mean Merlin?" She asked looking at him.

"They are the same person" Jelico said.

Suddenly the possessed man shot forward. He swung his sword at her. She jumped back just dodging the strike. Looking at him he smiled as he placed the sword on his shoulder. He motioned her to attack him. She shot forward at him her sword cocked back. Suddenly he ducked under her and slashed the sword across her arm. She crashed into a car causing a dent in it. Smiling he turned to look at her. It became apparent to her he was just toying with her.

"Tell me, One Pure of Heart. You have zero experience fighting someone like me. How do you intend to win?" He asked walking towards her.

"The world depends on me. My mother was killed so you could be free. I will end you" she said.

Jumping up she swung her sword. Energy raced forward at Samuel. Before he could react, it slammed into him sending him crashing into a broken wall. He looked as Jade lifted into the air. Energy swirling around her. Her eyes glowed brightly as she focused on the possessed man. Shooting forward she slammed her feet into his chest. They went crashing through the wall. They bounced out onto the street. She looked at him as he slowly got back to his feet. She listened as his groaning turned into laughter.

The man shot up quickly and uppercut Jade. The blow sent her flying back and slamming into a car. She groaned looking up to him. He walked forward, his sword glowing brightly.

Suddenly he stabbed it into her shoulder. She screamed out loudly as the man looked at her smiling. He pulled his sword out of her shoulder. Looking at her he smiled as he grabbed her by her throat. Looking into her eyes he smiled more. Looking past her he looked as the nuclear bomb detonated. The dragon flew into it and absorbed it. Smiling more he felt the boost of power fill him

Suddenly a pulse of energy shot out from Jade. It slammed into Samuel and sent him flipping through the air. He slammed into the trailer of a semi. His body left a dent in it as he fell forward. He landed on the ground. Looking at Jade he looked as she hovered in the air. Her wings flapped sending sparks and energy swirling around her. She looked down at him as he smiled up at her.

"Impressive" he said smiling up at her.

Suddenly his sword shot out. Energy raced forward. Jade punched her fist out sending energy racing forward. The beams collided sending sparks and energy bouncing around. They stared at each other as they continued to pump the energy at one another.

Cale's eyes opened, his vision was filled with red. His eyes stung as he blinked them. Reaching up he pulled his mask off. He took a raspy breath as slowly he got up on his knees. Reaching up he felt a deep gash going across his forehead. He could feel his skull in the wound. Using his hands he wiped all of the blood off of his face.

Looking around he looked across the city as it burned. Jelico swooped over roaring out. He looked up at the dragon as a lone missile tracked the great beast. He watched as the missile slammed into it. The dragon crashed to the ground. He smiled a bit until he saw it get back up. The dragon ran past him.

His attention turned to see Nikki laying next to him still unmoving. Reaching over he checked her pulse. He was relieved to find she was still alive. He sat back and pulled her over to himself. Her head rested in his lap. Pulling her mask off he looked at her bloody face. Pushing her hair back he looked down at her.

"I'm sorry, I should have seen this coming" he said softly.

He looked back up as the fires continued to rage around them. He reached into a flap of his vest. Pulling out his box of cigarettes he looked at them. Opening them up he found one left. Taking it out he placed it into his mouth and lit it. Taking a drag on it he looked up to see fighter jets roaring over. Looking around he saw burning and dead humans all around them.

"I know what has to be done, just know I love you" he said looking at Nikki.

Holding the cigarette in his mouth he got up. He sat her head under his vest. Reaching to her hip she pulled out her bowie knife. Looking over a pile of burning vehicles. He saw energy sparking. He slowly started moving towards the energy.

"Let me fucking go" Summer screamed out.

Her and Carmilla landed on a hill behind the Hollywood sign. Carmilla released her. Both looked out across the burning city. Fires lit the darkened night up. Jelico continued to burn the city. Summer turned and looked at Carmilla.

"Take me back" she demanded staring at the vampire.

"No" she responded knowing she would just anger her love.

"Take me fucking back" she screamed out slamming her fist into Carmilla's chest. "My family is down there, I can't abandon them" she screamed out, tears dripping from her eyes.

Carmilla pulled her to herself. "It was your family who asked me to take you from that. You didn't abandon them. They made you leave to protect you" Carmilla said in a smooth voice. Both looked at each other. "I promised your brother I'd protect you".

A twig snapped nearby making them both look. Out stepped four soldiers. All four wore all black colored clothing. They also wore all black visors. On their right arm was the American flag. On their left arm was a yellow W with a white V behind it. All four trained their guns on the two women. Carmilla pushed Summer behind herself.

"Summer White?" the soldier in front asked.

Carmilla glanced back to see Summer poke her head out from behind her. "How do you know my name?" Summer asked looking at him.

"It's our job" he said shrugging. He looked to see Summer still hadn't come out from behind Carmilla. "Look, your father was a large investor in our company. We monitor immortals and those who hunt them" he said focusing on her.

"You knew, and you did nothing?" Carmilla growled looking at the man. She noticed the others kept their guns trained on her.

"Neither did the government organization who is out there battling the dragon" he said pointing out across the city.

Both looked as the fighters engaged the dragon again. Turning Carmilla looked back to Summer. "There's something wrong here" she whispered making Summer look up at her.

"Please, come with us" he said making them look back.

"She comes too, and only after we collect my family" Summer said making the man focus on her.

"No, our orders are just you" he said looking at her. "Your siblings are most likely dead and we won't let a vampire anywhere near our headquarters".

"That's the deal, if not, I'm not coming" she said making the man shake his head.

"Come with us now" he demanded.

"You heard her" Carmilla growled.

Suddenly one clicked the safety off of his gun. Summer, acting quickly pushed Carmilla down. Snapping her gun up she shot the man with it. He fell to the ground dead. The other three looked at the dead man before looking back to Summer. They trained their guns onto her. She started firing her gun killing the others. Dropping her gun she stared at the four dead human. Carmilla looked at her before looking to the dead men. Getting up she looked at them before turning to Summer.

"Are you okay?" She asked looking to see Summer had a shocked expression on her face. Reaching up she stroked her cheek making the hunter slowly look at her.

"I killed them, I killed humans" she said softly.

"They were going to kill us" Carmilla said softly looking at her.

"I'm supposed to protect humans, not kill them" Summer said focusing on Carmilla.

"I know, but you have to be ready for things like this" Carmilla said looking into her eyes.

"We can't leave, not until we are sure Jelico is killed" Summer said turning back to the city.

Carmilla looked at her before looking back to the dead men. Walking over she picked up one of their guns. Walking up behind Summer they both looked as the dragon roared out as it battled the fleet of jets.

Jade screamed with anger and aggression. She swung her sword quickly, trying to take Samuel's head off. Her eyes were full of rage as the possessed man dodged the strikes. Ducking under one of her shots he shot up and grabbed her by her throat. They stared at one another. Jelico threw her up into the air. Her wings flapped trying to regain herself. Suddenly Jelico's sword shot through her.

She screamed out in pain as she fell back to the ground. She looked down to see the blade had went through her chest. Taking a breath she felt that it had pierced one of her lungs. Sitting back up on her knees she looked around. Blood trickled from her mouth. Her face was lit up with the orange glow of the burning city. Her eyes drifted down to the blade protruding from her chest. Reaching up she grabbed the hilt of the sword. Suddenly it was violently ripped from her chest. Looking up she watched it fly back to Samuel who stood on an over turned vehicle.

His skin was now a rust brown color. Scales had started to cover his body. His eyes were a golden color with slit pupils. His hair was a ashy white now. Horns had grown across his head now. He smiled revealing rows of dagger like teeth. He focused on Jade as energy sparked around him. His clawed fingers gripped onto his sword tightly.

Suddenly gunfire ripped into his energy shield from behind. Looking back he growled when he saw soldiers moving up on him. He looked back to Jade and smirked. "I'll deal with you in a minute" he said turning to face the soldiers.

Jade looked on as he shot down and started to attack the soldiers. She looked on as he killed them. Her eyes were heavy with tears as she watched the slaughter. Suddenly she felt a pair of hands grab her. Looking back she looked in shock to see Cale looking at her.

"I can't beat him" she said weakly.

"Not alone" he said making her look back to him.

"You have a plan?" She asked watching as he looked at her.

"I do" he said both looking up at Samuel as he battled the soldiers.

Nikki's eyes opened slowly, her eyes looking up. The clouds overhead reflected the glow of the burning city. Jelico flew over roaring, fighter jets and attack helicopters following him closely. She blinked her eyes slowly as she focused on the sky above. Blinking them again she was shocked. Standing above her looking down at her was her mother.

"Mom?" She said softly.

"Get up" Melissa said in a firm but loving voice. She looked as Nikki slowly stood up.

"How, how are you here?" Nikki asked softly before hugging her.

"I'm not" Melissa said making Nikki pull back and look up at her. "Your subconscious knew you needed to get up. I was created".

Nikki looked at her before lowering her head. "I miss you so much" Nikki said softly, tears dripping from her eyes.

"I know baby doll" Melissa said smiling at her. "Cale needs help".

Nikki looked at her as she pointed back to a fallen revolver. Kneeling down she grabbed the gun. Turning back around Melissa was gone. Lowering her head she let out a soft cry. Automatic fire sounded nearby. She turned and walked towards the battle.

Jelico looked through Samuel's eyes. He smiled, laughing as he killed the last soldier. He prepared to turn to face Jade. Suddenly a white energy wrapped blade shot out of his chest. He roared out in pain. Looking back he looked as a determined and angry Jade glared at him. His foot shot back kicking her off of the blade. He turned and looked at her as she rolled back down the small hill.

"How, how on earth do you plan on winning? Your ancestor didn't beat me just sealed me" he boomed staring down at Jade. He laughed loudly as he raised his sword up and prepared to attack.

Suddenly he roared out in pain as he felt the sword get pulled from his chest. Spinning around quickly he looked in shock to see Cale standing there. Before he could react the hunter swung the sword. He cut off both of his hands. Doing that caused Excalibur to clatter to the ground. Cale quickly shot down and grabbed the sword.

Samuel looked in shock at the bloody stumps that used to be his hands. Looking up slowly he looked at his son who stared at him. Slowly he fell to his knees as he stared up at his son. Slowly he reverted back to his normal self.

"I am sorry son" he said weakly.

Cale looked at him as slowly the power of Jelico started to fill him. His eyes glowed with power as horns started growing from his head. In a swift motion he kicked his father pushing him back down the small hill. Bending down he picked up Jade's sword. He tossed it back to her.

"This body is better suited for the battle against you" Jelico said through Cale as he looked at Jade. "I want this to be at least somewhat fair" he said smiling.

Jade weakly looked as Cale started walking towards her. Suddenly he stopped, growling out. Closing his eyes he roared out in pain. He dropped to his knees, his hands, one still clutching the sword came up to his head. He screamed out as if trying to contain something. His eyes shot open, still glowing but they seemed different.

"Now, do it now Jade" he roared looking at her.

Jade stared at him before looking to her sword. Slowly she looked up at him as he continued to battle Jelico in his head. She remembered her teachings, about not killing humans. She watched as Cale just looked at her and nodded softly. A tear dripped from both of their eyes. Her wings flapped, lifting herself up. She looked as Cale stretched his arms out. She flapped her wings propelling her forward.

She felt the blade cut through his chest. It went through the bones, piercing his heart and coming out of his back. His head shot up as the energy shot out of his body. Excalibur fell from his hand and clattered on the ground. He looked to Jade who looked back at him.

"Thank you" he said softly.

Nikki stopped, her eyes focused on the sky. The energy the had consumed her father was filling the sky. Her head quickly turned to see Jelico crash into a building knocking it over. He flopped on the ground gasping and gagging as he flopped around like a fish. She closed her eyes, mentally preparing herself to see her slain father. Coming up the small pile of cars she looked down. To her shock she saw Cale, a sword run through him. Jade clutching the bloody sword.

"No" she screamed out in a blood chilling scream.

She jumped off of the cars and ran. Looking at Jade the huntress watched her back up from her brother. Coming to a stop she raised the revolver and pointed it at Jade.

"No" Cale weakly said making Nikki look at him. "This... This was my idea" he said softly.

Nikki dropped down to her knees. Setting the revolver down she reached up and cupped her brothers cheeks in her hands. "Why, why would you do this?" She pleaded, tears streaming from her eyes.

"I needed to make up for everything I've done" Cale said, blood trickling from his lips. Slowly he looked up to Jade who looked at him. "Please, forgive me for trying to kill you almost a year ago" he said weakly.

"I do" she said nodding.

He smiled before looking back to Nikki. "I'm sorry for this, I wanted to protect you. I love you Nikki" he said, his eyes growing dark.

"I love you too" she sobbed looking at her brother.

Cale just smiled softly. Reaching up he pulled the sword from his chest. Once he did the blood flowed in torrents. He just lifted his eyes back up to Nikki who continued to sob. She threw her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek.

"I love you Cale, don't leave me" she pleaded holding tightly onto him.

There was no reply. Slowly she pulled back. Tears dripped from her eyes. Cale's face was frozen. He had a smile on his face. Blood dripped from his mouth. His eyes were empty and hollow. He was dead. She screamed out, her scream echoing across the silent city. Stopping, she heard a groaning coming from the bottom of the hill. Looking down she looked to see Samuel propped up against a car. Reaching down she grabbed the revolver. Standing up she walked down towards the wounded man.

"Nikki" he said weakly looking up at her.

"Cale is dead because of you" she growled in a shaky voice. She stared down at him as he looked up at her.

"I know" he just stated as he stared up at her.

"It should have been you" she hissed raising the revolver.

"Nikki, what are you doing?" He asked looking at her.

"What you taught me" she said looking at him. Her face became emotionless and cold. She fired three quick shots into his chest. Once she did she fired one more into his head. "Killing a threat to humanity" she said dropping the gun.

Jade looked at her before back to Cale. Walking over to him she knelt down. He had died on his knees. Slowly she laid him onto his back and closed his eyes. A lone tear dripped from her eye. He had sacrificed himself for everyone.

Glancing back she looked to see Drake walking up. He stopped and looked at Cale's body. Tears started to form in his eyes as he fell to his knees. Jade got up and walked over to him. "He sacrificed himself for the world" she said making him look to her.

"I lost Tori, she was in a fight with Isaac. After she killed him Jelico crashed into the building. I lost her in the collapse of the building" he said making her eyes shoot wide.

Jade looked in the direction of the building Jelico had crashed into. Bloody and wounded she flapped her wings. She lifted off of the ground and flew for the rubble. Landing on it she looked around.

"Tori" she screamed out looking the rubble over more.

Moving up it she started pulling boards and stone away. Pushing the rubble away she dug frantically. Her lover was buried under the building. As she continued to dig she stopped when she saw a patch of brown hair. Digging faster she pulled a board away. She recoiled quickly when she saw Sikowitz's severed head looking back at her. She placed her hand over her mouth and cried a bit as she stared down at his head. She knew Isaac had killed him. She heard a groaning coming from her left.

Weakly moving over to the location she started pulling rubble away. Pulling enough away she looked down in shock. Tori laid there. Her jaw was hanging loosely from her mouth. Several of her teeth had been knocked out. Her face was covered in blood. Jade started to remove the rest of the rubble off of her. Once she did she fell back in shock and surprise. Tori's intestines hung from her body. Blood covered her nude figure. She started sobbing loudly. Gently she picked her up bridal style. Turning she looked to see the hunters with Carmilla walking up, Drake carried Cale's body. Summer had come back.

Jade fell to her knees, cradling the unmoving Tori in her arms. She let out a long and mournful wail. Everyone lowered their heads as soldiers moved up around them.
