Chapter 30
They could see dozens of other Asgard ships. "How much time before the ships show up?" Sam said
"Ten minutes."
"Jack beam me over to one of the ships engine rooms, I'll start doing the upgrade. Let me know a minute before they show up so I can finish doing what I have to do and beam me back."
"Ok." Sam walk over and pick up the zat.
"Thor, please let the others know."
"Already sent the message Sam."
"Thanks Jack." Then she was beamed onto one of the other ships.
An Asgard was there when Sam showed up. She ran around changing things and asked the Asgard to beam her to the next ship when she finished with the upgrades. That done she was beamed to the next ship, then to the next.
She manged to do four before she was beamed back on the Daniel Jackson. While Sam was on the other ships, Jack beamed down the chair and drones. He did keep the ZPM with him, knowing he would need it back on earth.
"Ready Sam?" Jack asked.
"Yes."
She was beamed off seconds before the first ship came out of hyperspace. At the same time, Jack beamed two super soldiers and a goa'uld into space. Sam turned the shields off ,removed a crystal and hid it, then she ran down to the ring room where she ringed onto the next ship.
She worked her way to where to control panels were located in the wall and opened it up. She then removed the crystals from it and the lights went off. As soon as the lights went out, the Asgard quickly beamed all the super soldiers into space.
They were firing upon the two ships, then the one ship till they saw Sam ring onto the last ship and lower the shields then they were all beamed off while Jack beamed Sam back onto the Daniel Jackson.
"How are you felling Sam?"
"Tired."
"We might as well head to earth." Daniel said.
"Not yet Daniel, I want to finish with the changes on the other ships first."
"Are you sure Sam?" she turned to Jack.
"Yes."
"Well ok, soon as you're done we head back to earth."
"Thanks."
She was beamed onto an Asgard ship where she made the changes. A zat suddenly appeared in front of her, which made her smile. She picked it up and zatted the controls then returned everything before she was beamed to the next ship. The Daniel Jack was in orbit for an hour before Sam was beam back on to the ship and they immediately made the jump into hyperspace and their way back to earth.
"It's all done."
"Thank you Major Carter."
"Your welcome Thor."
She turned to Jack and asked "How long will it take for us to reach earth?"
"We will be there with in an hour, why don't you all get some rest, I'll let you know when we are in orbit."
"Ok."
"I'll show you your rooms."
"Thanks Thor." Daniel said.
"Get some rest Sam."
"I will Jack, will you be ok?"
"I will." he gave her a smile before she left the bridge, following the others then his hologram disappeared.
Thor showed them to their rooms, which they thanked, him for before he went to his own room. An hour later, they came out of hyperspace where Jack saw Prometheus, he knew that the colonel was trying to hail the ship so he made Jack's hologram appear on the bridge.
"Hi guys, we're back."
"Colonel O'Neill, whose ship is that?" Jack turned to look at the ship then back to the colonel.
"That's the Asgard ship called the Daniel Jackson" Everyone grinned.
"Where are the rest of your team, Jon O'Neill and Major Carter?"
"Resting…. I'll be right back, there's going to be some alterations to your shields, engines and the rings." then he was gone.
Jack appeared in Sam's room, she was sleeping, he loved watching her sleep, and he hated to wake her.
"Sam." she opened her eyes.
"Jack."
"We're home."
"Ok, thanks."
"The Prometheus is in orbit, so would you like to do the honors in upgrading the ship?" he asked smiling, knowing it would make her happy.
"I would love to." she got up.
"When this is over, I'm going to reward you."
"I'll be looking forward to i! I'll let you wake the others."
"Ok." He responded and then was gone.
Sam went to Thor's room and when she waved her hand over the stone, nothing happened, so she did it again. When the door did open Thor was there.
"Is there something wrong Major Carter?"
"We are in earth's orbit."
"Thank you."
"I'll go and wake the others up." She went to Teal'c door, waved her hand over the stone and waited. When the door opened she told Teal'c "We are in earth orbit"
"Thank you Major Carter." Sam gave him a smile then she went to wake up Daniel, then Jon and Samantha.
Once done she walk onto the bridge to see coffee machine with coffee cups, tea pot with tea cups, sugar, milk, cake, fruit blue jello and other foods.
"Jack you didn't."
"Why not…? Hammond's not there anymore. Some woman has taken over the SGC."
"What? Where is General Hammond?" Sam said in shock. As the other's arrived at the bridge she told them "We got problems."
"What no coffee?" Daniel Said.
"Daniel, General Hammond is not in charge of the SGC."
They looked from Sam to Jack. Jack?"
"I beamed myself down to Hammond's office to see a civilian woman in Hammond's seat. She asked who I am when Sargeant Harriman walked in, he told me that there has been changes and Hammond is now in Washington."
"That must have happened while we were away." Samantha said.
"Could be, hang on."
They looked at Jack and there was a bright light and General Hammond appeared, he looked around and saw Jack in the pod then he turned to everyone there for an explanation.
"Sir, what's going on?"
"There been changes going on while you were away."
"What changes?" Jon asked.
"I've been transferred to Washington and in charge of Home World Security, there will be a memo about it."
"Ok and the woman who taking your place?" Samantha asked.
"Dr Weir."
"I've heard of her. She's an expert in international politics. She mediates some high level negotiations for the UN. I actually referenced some of her work when I drafted the first treaty for the Tok'ra."
"Sir, have you told the President about what's going to happen in few days?"
"Yes, I was in a meeting with the ambassadors when I was beamed up here"
"Perhaps I should go and talk to them Sir." Daniel said.
"Sorry, you don't know what going on?"
"Then tell us?" Jack asked.
"The other governments wanted a civilian to take over the SGC for months now, the president had no choice in the matter."
"What do you mean no choice?"
"They would tell the world."
"What... that's blackmail." Jon said.
"I know, and the President isn't happy about it either."
While they were talking, Thor walk over to one of the control panels and he beam himself down to the pentagon to talk to the ambassadors. Jon noticed how pail Samantha is and looked at Jack hologram.
"Jack can you beam us down to the infirmary, Samantha not well." he whisperered.
Then there was a bright light, which caused everyone to stop speaking and look around.
"Where Jon and Samantha?" Sam asked, looking at Jack.
"Samantha's not feeling very well, I just beamed them down to the infirmary."
"Is everything alright with Dr Carter?"
"I guess space travel doesn't agree with pregnant women… oops did I just say that out loud?"
"Yes Jack, you did." Sam said.
"What, Dr Carter's pregnant?"
"Yes Sir, she is." Jack replied.
"Well next time you see them congratulate them for me."
"Will do." Sam said.
Then there was another bright light and they looked around to see Thor and the Ambassadors appear.
"Thor, what's going on?"
"I've brought them up here to see one of the Asgard new ships and to talk."
"Colonel O'Neill."
"Colonel Chevon, I'm just the hologram the real me is behind you." they turned to see Jack in the pod, asleep.
"How can this be? You're just a boy." the Chinese Ambassador stated.
"Long story ambassador. In the meantime, Thor can you start removing this stuff from me?"
"Hang on Jack, what about the Prometheus?"
"Oh yeah, Sam and I will go back. We will let you folks talk." then Sam was gone in a flash of light and Jack's hologram disappeared.
"Where did they go?"
"They are on Prometheus, doing some upgrades." Daniel told them.
"Oh, so it true that Colonel O'Neill has been turned into an eighteen-year-old?"
"Yes and so has Sam." Daniel said.
"That girl was Major Carter?" the Colonel asked.
"Yes, have you read the reports on what happened to them?"
"No, General Hammond was telling us about it when he was…"
"Beamed up here."
"Yes."
"Ok while we are waiting for Jack and Sam. You know what;s going to happen in few days' time, when Anubis shows up?"
"Yes, we were told what was happening. Can our allies help?"
"Yes, but we have found a weapon which can destroy Anubis once and for all."
"Have you, where is it?"
"Antarctica." they were all shock that a powerful weapon was on earth.
"Can you beam it up here?"
"No, cause it is under a mile of ice, O'Neill is going to Getting Major Carter to do something to the rings so they can go through the mile of ice to get to the weapon." Thor said.
"Thor why don't you show them and round while we are waiting for Jack and Sam to return." Daniel suggested.
"If you will follow me I'll show you the ship and I'll answer any questions you have." they walk out of the room leaving General Hammond behind with Daniel and Teal'c.
"Any idea of the number of ships that will be showing up?"
"Well there was originally thirty-five of Anubis' ships but Sam, Jack and Jon destroyed twelve so there is only twenty three left including Anubis mothership."
"Why not destroy all of them before they got here?"
"Thor was called back to Orilla. Anubis had send ships to the Asgard planet."
"Where they destroyed?"
"No, but the super soldiers and three goa'uld are floating in space just above the planet. The Asgard are towing the ships back here to earth, we can give them to the tok'ra since they haven't got any."
"I'm sure they would like that." When Thor and ambassadors returned, they were still talking.
"Thor here has told us that the Asgard males are part of Colonel O'Neill and the females are part of Major Carter," The British ambassador stated.
"That is true, it was Sam's idea of the combination of the DNA and the genes." Daniel informed them.
"We are impressed with what Thor has told us about what Major Carter has done to save the Asgard race."
"We are all impressed with the work she has done in the last seven years." General Hammond said. Just then the familiar bright light flashed and Sam and Jack appeared.
"Thor, you can remove the stuff out of my head, and beam us down to the SGC so we can freshen up and get some rest?"
"Colonel is everything completed on the Prometheus?"
"Yes Sir, they going to wait till tomorrow before heading to Antarctica so we can recon the area and prepare."
"Good, can you return us back to the Pentagon?" the Ambassadors requested.
"Sure, before I send you all back, just remember this. If it wasn't for General Hammond, SG1 and all the personnel from the SGC going off world, risking their lives, none of us would be here today. This war is coming to an end soon. After Anubis has been dealt with, the jaffa will then know that their gods couldn't defeat Anubis and yet we did and we believe in freedom just like Teal'c and Bra'tac."
"Are you sure about this Colonel?"
"All you have is my word, you know what SG1 has done in the past and we will defeat Anubis again you got my word on that."
Jack beamed the Ambassadors back down to the briefing room with General Hammond and then his hologram disappeared. Sam moved to the pod and look down at Jack then over to Thor, who was at the controls.
"How much longer Thor."
"It is done." then the pod open. Sam looked down just as Jack groaned.
"Jack."
"Sam, boy talk about a hangover." he open his eyes then closed them again.
"O'Neill."
"Thor, have you got any aspirin?"
"You will feel better in few minutes."
"Ok." then he opened his eyes and grinned up at Sam.
"Hey." she said.
"Hey, so what happened?" Jack asked, having no memory of what had transpired while he had been in the pod.
"We pissed Anubis off."
"Again." Sam smiled.
"Yes again, how's the head?"
"Pain's gone." then he sat up and look around.
"Where's Jon and Samantha?"
"At the SGC, she will be asking a transfer off SG1 to the labs for a while."
"Why?"
"She's pregnant." Jack raised his eyebrows.
"Gee mini-me sure didn't waste any time." Sam laughed and Jack climbed out of the pod to give Sam a hug and kiss.
"So, what else is happening?"
"Earth is Anubis' next target." Teal'c said.
"Oh, so what the plan."
"Well firstly, Thor can you beam us back down to the gate room?"
"I will do that; and I'll remain in orbit till the other Asgard ships arrive."
"Thanks." then they were beamed down to the gate room.
