Chapter 31

"Jack, General Hammond has been transferred to Washington..."

"Then who's the new shrub?"

"Dr Elizabeth Weir."

"Civilian?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

"I'll tell you everything."

"Ok… I'm hungry." she whispered in his ear.

"You haven't had your first course yet." then she turned to see Dr Weir walking into the gate room.

"Colonel O'Neill, it's an honour to meet you in person." He looked over to Sam.

"She met the hologram you, while you were in the pod."

"Oh. Well, hello again!" He shook her hand.

"Sam here is going to tell me what I've missed in the past two days."

"I'm sure she will, we will need to talk soon, Colonel."

"Tomorrow if that is ok, it will give Sam here a chance to debrief me."

"Sure."

"Thanks, come on Sam, I need a shower."

"And Janet's needles." they all heard Jack groan when they left the gate room.

"Trust you to bring that up."

They teased and flirted on the way to the infirmary where Janet was waiting for them. She and her staff gave them their jabs and she wanted to do some tests on Jack before letting him go.

"Jack, I'll meet you in our quarters.

"Ok, but what about a shower?"

"Trust me." she gave him a kiss before walking out of the infirmary. When she saw Daniel, she ran to catch up with him.

"Daniel, I need a favour."

"Sure Sam, what can I do for you?"

"Come to my room."

"Ah…, Sam." he was confused.

"Daniel, I was going to ask you if you can go into town and pick up a few things for me," she said smiling as they walk to the elevators.

"Oh, ah sure what do you need?" Daniel replied good-naturedly.

"I'll give you a list."

"Ah, ok." When they reached Jack and Sam's quarters, Sam unlocked the door and Sam went straight in and the grabbed the cash, quickly wrote a list and put them both in an envelope and passed it to Daniel.

"Here you go, I'll make the calls now." She told him. Daniel looked over the list and smiled.

"Ok, I'll just go and have my shower first before I go."

"Thanks, when you get back, Jack and I will be in the showers, so just put everything on the table."

"Ok, well I'd better get going then."

"Thanks Daniel."

"Bye Sam." He said as he left, closing the door behind him. Sam started sorting out their bedroom and made some phone calls then waited for Jack. When he opened the door twenty minutes later she stood up from the bed and picked up their toilet bags and robes.

"Sorry, I hope you weren't waiting too long for me?"

"No. Come on, let's go and take that shower."

Jack grinned as they left their room, closing the door behind them and headed for the showers. They both stripped their clothes off and got into one of the cubicles after Sam had turned the shower on.

They cleaned each other and made love. Afterwards they got out and dried down and sorted out their washing. They picked up their belongings and headed for their quarters.

Entering their room, they could smell something yummy. Sam looked over at the table and smiled, and then she walked over to the drawers and sorted her things out before investigating. Jack saw what was on the table too and also smiled and after putting his things away he joined Sam who was at the table sorting out the containers.

"Sam, who did you organise to go into town to get us this?"

"I asked Daniel to do it."

"Ah, thanks." he sat down and watched Sam sorting everything out, then he grabbed her around the waist, pulling her onto his lap and kissing her.

"You sure can be full of surprises Sam."

"I know." She responded, kissing him. She tried to stand but he wouldn't let her go.
"Stay where you are."

"Jack..."

"Yes Sam?" he replied, smirking.

He kissed her thoroughly again and then picked up a pair of chopsticks and a container of stir fried vegetables, feeding Sam and then himself. Sam selected a container of noodles. This time she fed Jack as he had fed her. After they had that, they had sweet and sour chicken bits and egg foo young afterwards, washing it down with a cold glass of coke.

Finally finished, Sam opened a cake box. Inside were two mini chocolate ghetto cakes. They each took one and bit into them. Sam could tell Jack loved the cake by the look on his face. Sam told Jack what happened after he got the download as they finished their cake.

They finished eating and Sam was still talking, so Jack kissed her passionately while undoing her robe. When they pulled apart Sam knew what he wanted to do, so she stood up and pulled the robe off her shoulders, letting it slide onto the floor.

Jack looked her up and down, she was still tanned from their honeymoon. He stood as Sam undid his tie and he pulled it from around his neck and dropped it to the floor. Pulling her into his arms, they kissed. Moving to the bed they lay down on it. They made love three times before falling asleep in each other's arms.

They both woke just after four in the morning. They dressed in their robes before heading to the bathroom to relieve themselves and wash their hands before returning to their quarters to make love again, this time with Sam on top.

Afterwards, Sam lay on her side and snuggled up to Jack. He asked her to tell him more about what transpired once he had the download, so Sam spent the next three hours talking with him, answering his questions along the way so he could understand. When he was finally happy with what she explained, they made love again, when Jack collapsed on top of Sam, he looked down at her.

"I love it when you scream out my name." she told him, smiling.

"I know, and this is a great way to work up an appetite."

"True, come on let's go shower before breakfast."

"Sounds good to me." He said, kissing her before rolling off her and out of the bed.

Sam also got up and out of the bed. They put their robes on and grabbed their clean BDU clothing and toilet bags before heading for the showers.

Jack undressed and stepped into one of the showers, and as the shower room was empty Sam joined him in his cubicle. After their showering and dressing, and headed back to their quarters. After they put their things away, they walked down to the mess hall and Sam finished telling Jack about what happened. By the time they reached the mess hall doors, Sam had finished telling him what he said to the ambassadors before he beamed them back down to the pentagon briefing room.

"I said that to them?" he stopped and asked.

"Yes you did."

"So what do you think they might do?"

"All we can do is wait and see, come on, knowing the others will be waiting to see you."

"Yeah." they selected their breakfast before walking over to where two tables were joined as one.

"Morning kids." Jack said as he put his tray on the table.

"Morning Jack, Sam." Daniel said then the others said their mornings to Jack, and Sam.

"Jon, Samantha, Sam told me about the triplets, congratulations."

"Thanks Jack." Jon said.

"You two sure didn't waste any time." causing both Jon and Samantha to blush.

"What about you and Carter, when are you two going to start a family?" pointing his spoon at them both.

"After the war." Sam said.

"Ok, so in the mean time you two are practicing." causing Daniel to spray out his mouthful of all coffee over Teal'c.

"Sorry Teal'c, do you two have to talk about your sex lives in front of Teal'c and me?" both Teal'c and Daniel grab paper napkins to clean up the coffee mess.

"They're just teasing each other Daniel, you should know by now what Jack is like." Sam said.

"Yeah… but your sex lives?" he said shaking his head.

They talked amongst themselves before going their separate ways for the next couple of hours. Jack went to see Dr Weir, while Sam and Samantha went to see what SG11 brought back from off world. Jon went to check on the net for online real estate for a new home.

When Jack and Dr Weir were talking a bright light suddenly appeared.

"General, it's good to see ya… is everything ok?"

"Yes it is, I've spoken to the President and the Chief of Staff, they want everyone in uniform in the gate room with in twenty minutes..."

"Ah… why Sir?"

"You will find out in time, I'll let you go and spread the word while I talk to Dr Weir here." Jack stood up.

"Ok." then he left to see Walter.

"Sergeant, can you get on the PA system, tell everyone to get into their dress blues, greens in twenty minutes and meet in the gate room, orders by Hammond."

"Yes Sir."

"Attention all personnel! by the order of General Hammond everyone in their uniform and in the gate room in twenty minutes..."

Sam looked up as Jack entered her lab.

"Jack what's going on?"

"Your guess is as good as mine."

"Oh, well then we better go and get changed then."

"Sure, where's Samantha?"

"Jon called her away, he found them a house."

"Ah, so shall we."

Sam closed everything down, then they both went to get changed. Once changed, Jack groaned seeing Sam in her dress blues.

"Dam, you look hot in those Sam."

"So do you fly boy." she walked over to him and gave him a kiss.

"Dam." when he looked Sam up and down.

"I don't know if I can control myself Sam, all I want to do right now is throw you on the bed and fuck you hard and fast."

"Later. We better get to the gate room."

"Yeah." Leaving their quarters, they headed in the direction of the gate room.

When they arrived the gate room was already full of SGC personnel in their uniforms waiting for them and General Hammond. They were all talking among themselves when General Hammond walk into the room and they all knew it was time.

They all stood at attention when he walked up the ramp to the pounamu podium(?) and turned around, looking at the men and women who had been under his command for almost eight years.

"At ease." They all relaxed.

"Thank you all for being here on short notice, I know things have changed in the last few days… there going to be more changes in the next few minutes. For one, Dr Weir has accepted her new posting, so you won't have her as your new Leader of the SGC, but you are going to like your new leader. So without further ado… Your new commanding officer is… Brigadier General… Jack O'Neill." Everyone was shocked and so was Jack. Hammond grinned when he saw the shock look on Jack's face.

"That was on my list… I get my own parking space, sweet." everyone chuckled knowing Jack.

Sam turn to Jack. "And don't forget the paperwork." she said smiling at him. Most of them heard Jack groan, knowing how he feels about it.

"Trust you to spoil that." he said looking at Sam.

"Now it has given me the pleaser to promote Major Carter to Lieutenant Colonel."

Sam was shocked and she walked up the ramp where Walter was reading out the letter, while General Hammond changed her oak leaves and then swore her in. When that was done; they both saluted then Sam walked back and stood next to Jack.

"It gives me pleasure to promote Major Fraiser to Lieutenant Colonel." Janet was in shock.

She walked up the ramp where Sam had been moments before and had her oak leaves changed and was sworn in before returning to her spot.

"I'm proud of all of you; what you have done in the past eight years and we know what is coming in couple of days. I wish you all the luck and god speed… dismissed." Everyone applauded General Hammond in respect for his leadership and then cheered Jack and Sam on when he pulled her towards him and they embraced. When they broke for air, Jack turned to General Hammond.

"Sorry Sir, I couldn't help myself."

"That;''s alright Jack." he said grinning and shook their hands.

"Congratulations to all three of you." He said as Janet joined them.

"Thanks Sir." Sam said Then he turned to Samantha and Jon.

"Congratulations Jon, Samantha, I heard the news about the triplets."

"Thanks Sir." Said Sam.

"General, permission to send a message to dad?"

"Sure."

"Thanks."

"Sir, why me? You know how much I hate paperwork." George chuckled.

"I know, but after you beamed us back down to the Pentagon, we discussed everything and they have read SG1's mission reports, they all agree that you are the one to take over my place here."

"Thanks Sir."

"You will be starting your new job next Monday."

"Cool… any word on when we can go home Sir?"

"Yes, the day you start working here, now that you are promoted, the NID can't touch you or your family..."

"What about Jon and Samantha?"

"Them to."

"Ok, thanks for telling us Sir."

"Your welcome."

"Well how about we go to the mess hall and celebrate with some cake." Jack said smiling and he rubbed his hands together.

"Not for me, I got to head back to Washington."

"I understand Sir, well drop by any time you're in the area."

"I will Jack, take care."

"We will." then he beamed himself away.

"Shall we?"

They left the gate room, with other personnel stopping to congratulate them personally on their promotions.
