Dawn: Wow, I didn't have to do anything this time. I like this side of Evan.
Evan: *glares at Dawn*
Dawn: Sorry!
MysticFangs: So I will get on with this so Evan doesn't kill us. You know the disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, just my OC's Dawn and Evan
"I'm gonna go find Evan," I said, "I'm not gonna let him miss this duel if it's the last thing I do!"
"Don't talk like that," said Yusei, "You will find him."
"Yeah, ok," I said. I gave Yusei a quick hug and went to find Evan. I ran out of the waiting area and ran straight into Maya.
"What are you doing back here?" I asked angrily.
"None of your business," she answered, "Oh, and it's a shame that your friend Evan will be disqualified. But, it'll be all right in the world. Satellites shouldn't even be in this tournament."
"You did something," I said.
"And what if I did? No one would know."
I grabbed her shirt. "Where is he?" I asked glaring at her. Maya played dumb and shrugged. I growled, grabbed her arm, and dragged her somewhere where we wouldn't be seen easily. Little did I know that Yusei was following us.
Once Maya and I were in a secluded area, I pushed her against the wall. "Now," I said, "Where. Is. Evan." Maya decided to keep playing dumb.
"I don't know," she said. My glare intensified. "Wrong answer," I said angrily. My right fist lit on fire, and I held it close to Maya's face.
"Tell me right now, or I'm gonna have to burn that pretty face of yours."
"Fine fine fine!" Maya said with fear, "I'll take you there."
Maya led me to a room. Before we walked in, she turned around. "Just so you know, I didn't really want to do this."
"Yeah, whatever. Just open the door."
Maya opened the door, and Evan was standing right there with ice forming in front of his hand. He noticed that the door was open, and the ice disappeared. He ran out and punched Maya. Our marks were starting to glow. "I bet Goodwin did this," I muttered angrily. "Yeah," said Evan, "But no time to talk. I need to get to the arena."
I nodded and grabbed his arm. We sprinted to the arena. "3…2…and 1!" said the MC, "Looks like Evan hasn't made it in time! He's disqualified! Ryker wins!"
Evan punched the wall, and the temperature dropped by a lot. My fists lit on fire, and I punched the wall. It broke the wall. Our marks were glowing super bright.
"I'll go find Luna, Leo, Yanagi, and Tanner," Evan said angrily.
"I'm gonna get him back," I said. I was trying to put out my flames. Our marks dulled a bit, but they were still glowing. Worst of all, Goodwin could see us.
"He now knows for certain that we are the Solar and Lunar Signers," said Evan.
"So much for not letting him know," I said. Evan started walking away. "I'll see you later Dawn."
"Yeah. See you later. Especially after I win the duel with Ryker."
"I'll be waiting for that to happen," he said, "Later."
I walked back to where Yusei was. "Dawn, what happened to Evan?"
"Goodwin happened," I said angrily, "At least, that's what I'm pretty sure happened."
"Is that why my mark was glowing not that long ago?" Yusei thought aloud.
"Yeah," I said, "As much as I hate it, Goodwin now knows that Evan and I are the Solar and Lunar Signers."
"I see," said Yusei. Goodwin was making an announcement. Apparently, there was going to be a redemption round. The two participants for this were Luna and Professor Frank.
Perfect, I thought, This is my chance to talk to Goodwin.
"I'm gonna go talk to Goodwin," I said to Yusei. Now he's probably gonna want to come with me, according to what he does in the show. Now it just might be a little earlier than usual.
"I'll come with you," said Yusei. "Just as expected," I muttered. "What was that Dawn?" he asked.
"Nothing," I said, "Come on, let's go."
Yusei and I walked to Goodwin's box room. The two guards there tried to stop us. I knocked one out, while Yusei knocked the other one out. I pushed the doors open, and Goodwin was standing at the window and Jack was sitting on the couch.
"Goodwin," I said, "Why did you force us to participate in this stupid Fortune Cup tournament? Was it your plan for Evan to get disqualified from his duel?"
"I needed to see that you were truly the Solar and Lunar Signers."
"But why did you force us to duel in this tournament by risking our friends?"
"I had the assumption that you were a Signer, so I had to make sure," Goodwin said simply.
"I'll explain the rest," said Jack. He pulled up his sleeve and showed off his mark of the Crimson Dragon. Jack's mark was the wings of the Crimson Dragon. Jack then went on to explain how he left the Satellite, which I of course already knew. Once he was done, he said, "Though I can't believe Yusei did what he did. He chose his friends instead of dueling for the card. None of that matters now." Jack turned to Goodwin.
"Release their friends. They aren't going to run away now. At least Yusei won't if he wants to keep his Stardust Dragon."
Goodwin nodded. "If that's the King's stand on the matter then so be it. Consider it done."
"Yusei, you'd better not lose the rest of your duels," said Jack, "I will be waiting for you in the finals."
"I won't," said Yusei. I glared at Goodwin and Jack, Goodwin especially.
"Let's go Yuse," I said. Yusei looked surprised that I called him that, but I didn't care. All I cared about was beating Ryker for Evan.
"The next duel is tomorrow," I said looking at Yusei.
"Yeah," he said, "And I'm going to beat Greiger."
"You will," I said smiling.
"How do you know?" he asked me. I smiled and answered, "I just do. You'll always believe in your cards right? So they will always believe in you and never let you down."
Yusei smiled slightly. "Spoken like a true duelist."
I smirked. "I may have not dueled for a long time, but I know enough about it to be awesome!" Yusei held my hand as we walked to where Evan and the others would be waiting.
The whole night, Evan was in a bad mood. He basically glared at everyone that came near him. "Come on," I said, "Are you really that upset?" Evan looked up at me for the first time that night. I could feel his cold aura. "Yes, I am," he said, "You wouldn't understand Dawn." I sighed. "You're right, I don't understand what you're feeling. But I do know that you are being too moody! What happened to you could happen to anyone. So man up and accept what happened! You didn't duel in the tournament. So what? You'll get plenty of other chances to duel!" Evan sighed. "Whatever."
A tick mark appeared on my head. I put my fist on Evan's head and started hitting his head. "Don't you 'whatever' me! You know I'm right, so get rid of the 'tude!" Evan's annoyed expression disappeared, and my expression grew serious as well. Then we just started laughing. "Ok Dawn, you have a point," said Evan, "There's no use in moping around for what happened!" I smiled. "Now that's the Evan I know."
I noticed that Yusei was watching us, as well as everyone else. "Are you sure you're not siblings?" asked Tanner. Evan and I didn't say anything to that, and it caused everyone to laugh. I yawned. "Well, I'm gonna go to sleep now," I said, "Too much dueling today."
"Goodnight Dawn," said Yusei, a confused expression on his face. Evan stood up after I had turned the corner. "You know what, I'm gonna go to sleep too," he said. I bet all of them were confused at how early we were going to sleep.
I laid in bed, thinking about everything that had happened. I was sent to the world of Yusei, taken to the Facility, dueled for freedom, found out I was a Signer, and now I'm dueling in the Fortune Cup. It's all so much to take in.
I started thinking about my friends back home, and my parents too. Sure, my parents aren't around much, but that doesn't make me care for them any less. I wonder if they miss me, I thought, Have they even noticed I'm gone? And what about my friends? Have they moved on? I wonder how long I've been here. My eyes widened. Does time run differently in this world?
"If it does," I thought aloud, "Does that mean that a day here could be a month there? Or a day here could equal just a few minutes. Maybe time just runs the same, and I've been gone the same amount of time that I've been here."
"I see we've been thinking the same thing," said Evan.
"So you've been thinking about home too," I said.
"Yup, and that's why you wanted to go to sleep early," said Evan, "Isn't it Dawn."
I sighed. "Yeah. Do you wonder if our parents and friends miss us? Or is it like they completely forgot?"
Evan shrugged. "There's no way of knowing that. But, I would think that my parents don't care, but the little dorks are wondering where I am."
"Yeah," I said, "Guess so. I don't think my parents have even noticed I'm gone. When we came here, assuming that time runs the same, my parents had just left on another trip."
Evan pat my head, and then left the room. I turned on my side, and went to sleep.
The next day was Yusei's duel against Greiger, Commander Koda against Akiza, then me against Ryker. I just don't know the order.
When we got there, it was announced that the order of the battles would be: me against Ryker, Yusei against Greiger, then Commander Coda against Akiza.
"Yes!" I said while I walked with Yusei, "My duel's first, so I can beat Ryker!"
"Dawn," said Yusei.
"Hm?"
"Why did you threaten Maya?"
"Wait, y-you saw that?!" I exclaimed. Yusei nodded. I scratched my cheek. "Well she got on my nerves…"
"Then was that really a reason to almost burn her?" I looked down in shame. "No, I guess not. Sorry Yusei."
Yusei pulled me into a hug. "Then let's just forget about it."
I nodded and smiled. "I will. And I'm gonna beat Ryker in this duel!"
"Good luck," said Yusei.
"Welcome to the next day of the Fortune Cup!" said the MC, "Our first duel is Dawn Yumeni against Ryker West!"
We were both raised on platforms to the arena. "You ready to lose?" I said. Ryker smirked. "Oh, I won't."
"You're a gentleman so you'll let me go first right?" I said, "So I draw!"
Dawn 4000; Ryker 4000
Sweet, I thought, Today is my lucky day!
"I summon Flare Sorceress(Lv 3: ATK 0 DEF 100) in attack mode!"
"Are you still half asleep?" asked Ryker, "That monster has no attack points!"
"Well right now she doesn't," I said, "But after I activate her ability, she will. Flare Sorceress gains 400 attack points for each card in both of our hands. Since it's the start of the duel, we each have five cards."
"4000 attack points?!" exclaimed Ryker.
"Exactly," I said smirking, "And if I give up 1000 life points on my first turn, she can attack you directly! Go Flare Sorceress!"
'Of course my lady.'
I looked around, and then remembered that I can communicate with my duel spirits. I grinned when Flare Sorceress's attack made contact. "I win," I said, "Better luck next time!"
Dawn 3000; Ryker 0
Everyone looked surprised. Then, they all called me a cheater! They said that I cheated somehow with the card.
"What?!" I said, "I almost never get that card at the beginning of the fight! It was just luck!" No one listened. According to them, I'm the Satellite who cheated in the tournament.
"Um," said the MC, "Let's take this up with Director Goodwin." Goodwin's face appeared in front of everyone. "I regret to say this, but although Ms. Yumeni won, she will be disqualified for having a card that is extremely overpowered. Ryker will not be let back in the tournament either."
I glared at Goodwin. How dare he disqualify me for a reason as stupid as that. Ryker and I both left the arena, seeing how our duel was over. As I was walking down the hallway, I saw Yusei.
"Hey Dawn," he said. "Hi Yusei," I said sighing, "You know, I bet Goodwin just disqualified me for what happened with Maya, but used my card as an excuse!"
"That could be it," said Yusei, "But don't worry about it. Just like you told Evan, you'll get plenty of other chances to duel." I smiled. "Guess so," I said. Yusei stepped closer to me and kissed me. When we broke away, I said, "Go win your duel against Greiger!"
"I will," said Yusei, "There's no way Greiger's going to beat me."
I nodded. I know, I thought. "Good luck Yusei," I said. He gave me a thumbs up and revved his engine.
"Let's rev it up!"
MysticFangs: That is the end!
Dawn: *glare*
Evan: *glare*
MysticFangs: I don't know why you're mad Dawn, I made you kiss Yusei.
Dawn: *blush*
Yusei: *blush*
Dawn: But you still disqualified me from the tournament!
MysticFangs: *smiles* And everything is on track now, so don't worry! You and Evan will have a special part in the Dark Signers Arc too.
Dawn and Evan: Really?
MysticFangs: Yes really. But I won't tell you anything else! See you in the next one!
