Normal POV
They had it all planned out and they were all equipped. Rory and Amy had been given stun guns and the Doctor with his no gun policy had tucked away his sonic screwdriver in the pocket of his tweed jacket. Tom had slung his sword in a scabbard. Jack and Gwyn's guns were securely in their chest holsters.
The Tardis would be camouflaged and would be silently parked in a utility closet. All of them had perception filter rings and black markers in their pockets in case they ran into any Silent. The Doctor, Gwyn and Tom would search the base for Rose while Rory, Amy and Jack would be distractions and be the cover for their escape.
The plan was going smoothly and it took a while of searching empty rooms before they found the one with Rose in it.
"Mom!" Gwyn exclaimed, rushing towards her weak mother. The Doctor and Tom hurriedly followed her and began to undo the restraints and take out the monitoring equipment. The Doctor could barely contain his anger at the dismal state Rose was in. Her hair was tangled and greasy and her skin was as pale as leprosy.
"Mom, can you hear me? It's me, Gwyn." Gwyn sniffled, overcome with the joy of seeing her mother again, but also rage and sadness at the pain her mother had gone through.
"Gwyn?" Rose muttered, her eyes unfocused. Gwyn choked out a sob and held Rose's head in her hands.
"Yes, Momma."
Rose laughed and when she was finally freed from her restraints she embraced her daughter, soaking the other's shirt with tears. Neither wanted to let go after such a long absence from each other's lives.
"Oh my baby. I'm so glad you're safe." Rose shuddered and squeezed her daughter tight in her arms. "But what are you doing here? It's not safe!"
"We came here to save you. We are gonna get you out of here." Gwyn assured her mother. Gwyn and Rose eventually separated from their hug and Rose shakily lifted herself from the chair and faced the other companions in the room.
"Mom, this is Tom, my fiancé." Gwyn hastily introduced the man to her right. Rose greeted him with a smile and then turned towards her other rescuer. Rose's heart stopped in her chest as she took in the man in front of her. The Doctor shifted under his gaze and fiddled with his fingers.
"Hello, Rose. It's been a while." The Doctor murmured. Rose advanced towards the man with the floppy hair, red bowtie and tweed jacket. She raised her hand to his cheek; the Doctor readily accepted her touch and leaned into her hand.
"My Doctor." Rose whispered in a coarse voice. The Doctor removed Rose's hand from his face and clasped it in his own hands. "You've regenerated. How long has it been?" Rose questioned, unsure of whether or not she wanted the answer.
"Does it really matter?" The Doctor hesitated. He gazed into Rose's brown eyes and took comfort in her presence. He never thought he would see her again. Feel her warmth ever again. "My last body was your Doctor. The one that…." The Doctor confessed. The silence was tense and it stayed like that for a few moments, though it felt like years to the reunited lovers.
"So…look at you. Rose Tyler, a mother. Who would have known?" The Doctor murmured; Rose tensed and looked downwards. Shame filled her at the hard tone in his voice. It made sense, after losing an entire race, having another time lord would mean everything to him even if he wasn't one for domestics.
"I hate to be the one to break up the reunion, but we are short for time here." Tom commented. Rose and the Doctor snapped out of their reverie and the quartet rushed out the door back to the main room where the others were fighting the Church of the Silence. As they burst into the room they too were quickly surrounded by soldiers and were forced to hold their hands up. Madame Kovarian, accompanied by a second, unknown woman, entered the room on the second floor balcony.
The newcomer was dressed in a floor-length dark violet dress with a high neck and black sequins along the torso and seams; where sleeves should be were high fishnet tube gloves that went up to the middle of her upper arm. Her dark hair was twisted up in large braid bun. Her eyes had a long strip of mauve makeup painted across her face like a mask. On her brow hung a gold and amethyst diadem. Her expression was a victorious smirk.
"Well, isn't this a surprise. All these famous faces in my mainframe. I feel so honored to have you all here tonight." The woman crooned, moving towards the metal staircase that led to the main floor. Madame Kovarian followed swiftly behind.
"You clearly know us, so the question is: who are you?" argued Jack.
"Oh, I'm hurt! I guess it's only fair I introduce myself. My name is Tasha Lem and this is my church. It's a pleasure to have you all here." Tasha announced as she slowly made her way down the stairs and across the room toward the group.
"So you're the one who started this, all because of a stupid fake prophecy…" Amy sneered and stepped forward, brow furrowed and eye blazing with rage.
"What? No 'thank you' for taking care of your daughter all these years?" Tasha Lem jeered. Amy rushed forward to hit her but was blocked by the armed soldiers surrounding them.
"YOU STOLE HER!" Rory raged at her. Tasha Lem picked at her nails casually.
"Stole is such a harsh word; I prefer the term 'borrowed'. You got her back, after all."
Amy was about to march through the soldiers and hit the distaful lady herself before the Doctor grabbed her arm and stopped her.
"Well, while this has been fun, there's a reason people at the top don't get in trouble and it's because we don't get our hands dirty. Now, little Gwyn, thank you so much for coming here yourself." Tasha turned her attention to the soldier. "Get them."
The fight began as the preacher soldiers descended upon the group. Rory and Tom pulled out their swords, Rory rushed two of the soldiers, tackling them both to the ground. The Doctor evaded multiple attacks, thanks to his Venusian aikido, and ran at Kovarian, holding his sonic out like a knight's lance. Gwyn herself was throwing punches left and right and holding her ground.
Tasha who had stayed on the fringes of the fight carefully moved around the balcony and aimed her gun at the Doctor, this being the chance she was waiting for no time to prepare himself for regeneration. With this shot and the next when he started to glow, the doctor would be dead and the prophecy would never be fuffiled. What she didn't plan was for the 21st century man to see her and jump in front of the bullet in his own chest instead of the doctor's head.
