Heaven got off the Underground, and made her way up the stairs, smiling as the wind hit her face.
Adjusting her bag on her shoulders, she made her way to the edge of the curb, standing and waiting for a cab.
After a few minutes, she spotted a taxi and waved it down, shoving her bag inside of it.
Grabbing a pencil and a notebook from her bag, Heaven began planning her lesson plans for the next day.
She had her first job the next day, as a substitute teacher at Deffry Vale School, where she had been hired almost immediately after applying, which was a little strange, considering that she had never actually taught before.
Being a young woman of twenty-three, she was excited to finally be out of school, and beginning a strange thing called life.
Granted, she probably should have written out lesson plans a long time ago, but Heaven had always been a bit of a procrastinator.
Looking up from her notebook, where she had been designing a lesson plan, she realized that they had almost reached her new apartment.
Stuffing the journal back inside of her bag, she paid the driver and hopped out, standing on the sidewalk, staring at the building in awe.
She had made it.
Despite all of her struggles, she was still alive.
It didn't matter what the bullies had said her entire life, or that her high school Chemistry teacher took advantage of her wanting to get a good grade.
It didn't matter that her parents always told her that she wouldn't make it, that she couldn't make it.
She had done it.
She had found herself a place in London, her dream city, and was ready to start her life.
Heaven woke up the next morning to the sound of her alarm clock, and with a groan, she decided to get up.
She took a quick shower and got dressed, knowing that she had already taken too long to get up.
Curse her sleep-loving brain.
After getting her clothes on, Heaven fixed herself a quick bagel and decided to eat it on the way.
Swinging her messenger bag across her shoulder, she ran a hand through her blow-dried hair and waved to a taxi.
She really had to get herself a car.
"Deffry Vale School," She told the driver who nodded and began steering in her desired direction.
Heaven checked her watch, and made a mental note to never be that late again.
She was pushing on twenty minutes until the bell, and she was still ten minutes away, and she had to find her classroom.
After what seemed like too-long, the driver had finally reached the school, and Heaven thanked him, thrusting the cash into his hand and racing out of the car and into the building.
