A/N: Hey guys Christmas is here and so am i, and i brought chapters as presents. I know my updating is not consistant but please bear with me guys, i have been really busy with school. Anyway over this long break i plan to dish out as many chapters as i can, so please look forward to that. Anyways here is the long awaited chapter 16, the next chapter will be up shortly, well depends how fast my awesome beta, dorylover, can edit. Also i noticed a question in the review relating to the present Percy getting overshadowed by the future Percy, or Ace. My answer is no, he will not be overshadowed. He will be awesome in his own way, and so will Percy, but they are both important characters within this story(hopefully this chapter shows that). But just a little reminder, Ace is a god and Percy is just beginning his life and as a half-blood, lets not compare them yet. Anyway hope you enjoy(sorry if it;s short), and if you do then follow and favorite this story for further upddates. Until next time, pce out :D

As usual, i don't own anything Percy Jackson related. All credit goes to the original author.

Chapter 16

Percy and his friends were on the run again. But this time he didn't know what worried him more; the monsters that were chasing them now or the conversation they had after they escaped from the last one. As Ace drove the car they "borrowed" from the streets, while Percy was in deep thought about everything that happened since they left the Museum.

*Flashback*

After running for ten straight minutes , Percy was grateful for the momentary rest. He caught his breath as he stared off to his right. Just down the block was his house, or rather just down the block was his mother; the person that meant the world to him. He wanted to go see her and now that he had left Yancy, there was nothing stopping him. But he felt conflicted because he didn't want to leave his friends, especially with the monster that was following them. He was contemplating what to do when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He tensed a little bit when he felt the hand, he had been on edge since they left the Museum.

He turned his head to see Ace smiling at him. "Lead the way buddy."

He didn't need to ask what Ace was talking about because he right away knew that he got the go signal to go see his mom. But he did wonder how Ace knew him so well to know what he was thinking about.

"What about the monster? What if he catches up?" Percy asked with a frown. Even though he wanted to see his mom, he didn't want to cause any trouble for his mom or his friends.

"Don't worry; I can try to get it off our trail for a bit longer. You just go do what you have to do. PLus I have some business that way as well." Ace replied.

"What're you guys talking about?" Tal interrupted with raised eyebrows.

"Change of plans. We will be taking a little detour before we head to camp. We need to go see Perce's mom." Ace explained.

"What? We can't do that. She might get into this mess if we bring your scents over there right now." Grover interjected, his breathing had finally steadied.

"I agree with Grover on this one. It might be too dangerous to go over there right now. We should just head straight to camp and then we can sort this out later." Tal stated as Grover nodded in agreement.

Percy looked down at the ground; he didn't know what to do. He wanted to go see his mom but he didn't want to cause any trouble. He was about to say that they should just forget about it and go straight to camp. He could always see his mom after, but Ace cut him off.

"We'll go see her now, because once we get to camp, there's no going back." Ace said sternly.

Percy didn't know what Ace meant about no going back but he was grateful for his support. And the look of seriousness on his face made Tal and Grover succumb to his plan.

"Okay but we have to hurry, we can't stay for long." Tal said motioning for Percy to take the lead.

"Of course, hurry is my middle name." Percy said smiling as he ran off towards his moms apartment with the others right on his tail.

*Flashback*

Percy was brought out of his thoughts when something struck the car from above. Everything after that happened too quickly. The car skidded in the wet road and flipped over as Ace failed to steady it. The car skidded on it's roof a for a few seconds before coming to a complete stop.

Percy let out groan as he tried to figure out what just happened. He looked around to see that the world had turned upside down. He let out another groan as he looked around to see broken glass everywhere. He looked out the broken window again, only this time he realized that it wasn't the world that turned upside down, it was them. Something had hit their car and flipped them over.

He heard another groan as he turned to see Ace trying to free himself from his position.

"Perce, you alright?" He heard Ace choke out.

"Yea, I think I'm okay. What about you?" Percy replied as he too tried to get out of this uncomfortable position.

"Nothing that will stop me from seeing tomorrow" he chuckled. "What about you guys, Grover, Tal?"

At the mentioned of Grover, Percy turned to his right to see the limp body of his Satyr friend.

"Crap, I think he's unconscious. What about Tal?" Percy said.

"I think she's out cold as well. This is not good. We need to get out of here and keep moving. We're almost there." Ace said as he finally was able to remove his seat belt and lay on his stomach. He carefully crawled through the broken glass and exited out the broken window. Then he came to Percy's side and helped him get out.

"Thanks, but what happened? I don't see any monster that could have caused this." Percy inquired as he stretched to click his bones back into motion.

"It wasn't a monster, it was Zeus. He shot us with lightning." Ace said glaring at the storm clouds that covered the night sky.

"You're kidding, right?" Percy asked, looking blankly at the sky.

"No, I am not. But we will talk about that later. We have to get these guy to safety." Ace started working on getting Tal out of the car.

"I don't think we can go far while carrying these two." Percy walked over to Grover's side and started to work on getting him out.

"We don't have to go far. The camp is right up that hill over there."Ace said motioning towards the hill behind him.

He had gotten Tal out and was now carrying her bridal style. Percy was hit with a hint of jealousy. He wanted to be the one to carry Tal. He looked at Tal's face and the pale look she had quickly made him bury his jealousy. This wasn't the place to worry about things like that, their lives were in danger. He finally pulled Grover out and threw him over his shoulder.

"Let's get moving" Percy said as he walked over to Ace. They slowly started towards the hill. But before they could even take three steps, a howl ripped through the air.

"Shit, this is not a good time." Ace growled as he took off in a light jog, Percy right on his heel.

They made it half-way up the hill before they heard the explosion behind them. They looked back to see a giant creature flattening their already damaged car.

At first Percy was confused as to what it was, but all that confusion went down the drain when he saw the sharp horns protruding from it's head.

"I-is that what I think it is?" Percy stuttered out.

"Yes, now keep moving. We we have to get behind the barrier before he catches our scent." Ace replied, starting to jog again.

"I can't believe the Minotaur is after us. Why do the Fates hate us?" Percy groaned out as he rushed to follow his friend.

"I ask myself that everyday buddy" Ace chuckled out.

With every step they took, they were nearing the Camp and feeling hopeful that they could get away before the Minotaur noticed them.

They were fifteen feet from the border line when a shadow jumped in front of them. They watched in a mixture of worry, fear and annoyance as the shadow changed from the shape of a wolf to the shape of a man.

The man stepped out of the shadows to reveal the face of the King of Werewolves; Lycaon.

Before they could even react, the King of Werewolves let loose a howl that alerted the Minotaur of their position. The giant bull man let loose a growl and barreled up the hill.

Now Percy and Ace were trapped between two powerful monsters, and the fact that they had two wounded friends didn't help their odds one bit. Ace was hoping that the howl was loud enough to alert the campers and that they would be able to get back up soon, not to aid them in the fight but to take their injured friends to safety. All he had to do was stall for time.

"So you finally caught up. I'm surprised you are still able to walk after witnessing all of that. Tell me, how's it feel living your worst nightmare. With your kind I can only imagine what you would be scared of." Ace said giving a smirk.

"I'm going to enjoy ripping the flesh off of your bones." Lycan replied putting on a smirk of his own.

Percy was a bit shaken by that comment. He didn't know what threw him off more, the fact that it was disgusting or the fact that there was a chance that it could happen. He turned to Ace, expecting to find a look of fear or worry on his face. But instead he found a smirk plastered on his face. He looked no better than Lycan.

"To bad you guys turn to dust with one hit or I would enjoy turning your cells to ash."

Percy had never seen this side of Ace before. Sure he got angry sometimes, but this wasn't anger. It was the urge to kill for the reason of killing and nothing else. At that moment, he knew that Ace was someone that should never be made into an enemy. Just the energy that was flowing off of him made Percy's skin crawl.

"Looks like we won't be getting any help after all, Percy get ready to fight. I'll leave the Minotaur to you." Ace said placing Tal against a tree. The rain had made her hair flow over to cover her face. He walked over and placed Grover next to her.

He pulled out his sword and turned to look down hill. The Minotaur was almost upon them.

"Go meet it half-way. I don't want that thing near them." Ace asserted. The smirk still hadn't left his face.

"What about you?" Percy asked not taking his eyes off of the beast.

"I'll handle our highness over here. You have to be gentle with royalty. Don't die on me buddy, okay? I don't want to tell your mom that I lost her son before he even got to camp, especially to an oversized lump of ground beef." Ace replied with a chuckle.

Percy smiled as he got ready to meet the bull-man head on. He loved that about Ace; his ability to lighten the mood in any situation.

"I bet I finish before you." Percy called out as he dashed down the hill.

"You're on." Ace yelled behind him.

Percy kept smiling as he neared the monster. When he was ten feet within reach, he used his altitude to his advantage and jumped over the beast. The creature completely barreled past him. Percy knew from his lessons with Ace that once this monster charged, it was hard for it to stop and turn. he used that to his advantage as well and raced after it.

Before it could turn around, Percy opened up a gash on it's back. It let loose a growl of pain as it swung it's arm. But Percy was already on the ground, opening up a gash on its thigh. It growled again as it backed up just in time to dodge Percy's upward slash that would have cut open its chest. It pushed itself off of a tree and charged again.

Percy knew what he needed to do to finish it off, so he waited for it to come closer. His plan was to avoid it's charge by jumping to the side at the last minute while slashing it's head off.

He waited until he couldn't afford to wait any longer and jumped to his right, while slashing his sword in a wide arch. He thought his fight had ended, but to his surprise he didn't cut into flesh. All he cut off was the monsters left horn. He turned his head to see the monster had stopped it's charge by holding onto two trees. He was a little taken back by this action, but he didn't give the monster time to react.

He rushed to his feet and made an attempt to drive his sword right through the monsters mid-section. With all of his focus in his attack he failed to see the oncoming attack from the monster. At the last second, he noticed the beefy arm aimed at his chest, but there wasn't enough time for Percy to react as the Minotaur slammed his forearm across Percy's chest.

In that moment he knew that his sternum had cracked and some ribs had broken. He tried to inhale in air but his throat was clogged by the blood that gushed out. His vision was darkening as he felt himself losing all feeling in his limbs. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a fist barrelling towards his face and he knew that if he was hit with that attack then he would die. So as a last resort, he threw his sword at what he thought was the Minotaur's head and hoped for the best as he faded into the realm of unconsciousness and dropped to the ground.
