Ten-year-old Klaus nervously knocked on the door of his father's office. Klaus was shaking with fear. His father had requested a private audience with his third son. He was sure that he was in trouble because why else would his father request his presence?

"Come in boy" came his father's voice.

Klaus opened the door and was shocked by the image that greeted him. His father was certainly not alone. A weary looking man with streaks of grey in his mousy brown hair was kneeling before his father. Three other men were in the room and they were all aiming their guns at the man. His father was behind a desk as her looked on coldly. Everything about his office screamed stoic. There were no pictures or anything that might be described as human. The walls were a pale grey and the the floor was metal.

"This is Derek Wheeler" his father said coldly, "He has worked for us for seven years as a hit man. Yesterday I found out that he's been spying for someone else. This rat has been reporting us to Agent Rudy Bennett just to save his own skin"

The man looked at the boy was interest. He seemed to be looking right into his soul. He looked like he'd had many sleepless nights. Klaus didn't know what to think. Why was his father telling him this?

"What would you do if you were me boy?" Mikael asked his boy.

Klaus stood dumb for a few moments. What should he say?

"COME ON BOY!" his father yelled,"ARE YOU A COWARD? WHAT SHOULD I DO?"

The ten-year-old looked on the verge of crying. Derek looked deep into Klaus' eyes. Klaus was young but he was sure he could see a flicker of fear in them.

"BOY!" Mikael screamed even louder, "ANSWER ME! WHAT WOULD YOU DO"

"Kill him" Klaus said in a tiny voice.

The men holding guns to the man's head looked like they hadn't heard what the boy said. His father looked more furious then before. He hit his son hard three times until there was blood coming from his face.

"I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

"YOU SHOULD KILL HIM" the ten-year-old answered loudly.

Silence descended upon the room. Derek was hastily looking from father to son. The guards looked amused but were trying to hide it. Klaus' father nodded and then picked up a gun and held it to the man's head. Klaus turned to look away but Mikael wasn't having any of it.

"A Mikaelson doesn't look away" he told his son sternly, "Look"

Klaus turned to see Derek get viciously killed by his father...

Klaus was determined that that wouldn't happen to his son. He would never let Henrik grow up the way he did, no matter what his father does. They were nearing their destination. Elena had headphone in her ears and was fast asleep; she looked strangely at peace. A flight attendant walked past his seat. She had long brown hair and creamy skin. When she walked past Klaus he smelt coffee and oranges. Another flight attendant had called her over to discuss something of great urgency. The female and the other attendant were whispering with very concerned expressions on their faces.

At first Klaus thought there must be must be something wrong with the plane. That was until the woman gave him a sharp and frightened look. Panic struck him like a lightning bolt. What were they saying? The other attendant gave him a brief look and then returned to the conversation. Did they know who he was? Did the Bennett bitch inform the FBI? The woman must have done. Klaus woke Elena up by shaking her on the shoulder.

"Is the plane landing?" she asked sleepily.

"Not yet" Klaus answered in a whispered voice, "I think we've been discovered"

Before he could expand on that cryptic statement the brunette came over looking rather shaken while the other gaped at them from the other side of the plane.

"Can I see some identity please sir?" she asked in a cockney accent.

Her name tag identified her as 'Jayne'.

"Of course" Klaus replied in a Louisiana accent.

Klaus dug deep in his bag for his fake passport. Jayne looked absolutely terrified. Her whole body was shaking a little even though she was trying to look brave. Klaus finally found their passports and handed them to her. She took them and inspected them.

"These aren't real" she said bluntly.

"You must be mistaken" Klaus argued, "My name is Keith Mosby and this is was wife Evelyn Mosby. We're on a camping world tour. We've just come from Spain and now we're going to China"

Jayne turned to Elena who so far hadn't said a word.

"Has the cat got your tongue?" Jane asked Elena.

Elena looked startled at being talked to. She was praying that she wouldn't happen. She couldn't do an accent like Klaus could but luckily he saved her before she gave them away.

"She's got a sore throat" Klaus lied.

Jayne didn't believe him.

...

Kol and Caroline arrived at the hotel Caprice at ten minutes to 12. They were the first ones there. Caroline was relieved to not having to masquerade as Kol's assistant. Kol on the other hand was a little disappointed when they finally arrived at the hotel. They both sat in the cafe area which was where they were meeting. Caroline noticed that they were the only white people in the cafe so they stuck out like a sore thumb. They both had a drink as they waited for the others to arrive.

Five minutes passed.

It was five minutes until their meeting and she was beginning to get nervous. Fear started to grip her as the minutes rolled by. Kol was getting nervous as well. It was two minutes to 12 and they were still the only two at the meeting point.

Two more minutes passed.

Rebekah and Mikael arrived looking like they'd just run a few blocks. Kol looked happy that his sister and his son were safe. Kol gave his son and his sister a hug. Emotion was clear in his face but Caroline couldn't be happy just yet; after all her son and husband were missing.

"I'm sorry we're late" she apologised, "The traffic was awful"

Mikael and Rebekah ordered their drinks and sat down.

"Where are the others?" she asked.

That was a good question...

Ten minutes passed.

"Where are they?" Rebekah burst out.

A few more minutes passed until Elijah and Henrik arrived. Caroline ran up to her son and hugged him as tight as she could without suffocating him. Relief and happiness flooded her mind all at once. Kol greeted his brother warmly. They all sat down and waited for Klaus and Elena. They waited for another thirty minutes before they decided to order some food. Elijah and Caroline both looked deeply concerned.

An hour passed and still no Klaus and Elena.

"They're not coming" Kol concluded.

"No!" Caroline cried.

"He's right" Rebekah agreed.

Elijah's phone started ringing so he picked it up. He heard his father's voice on the end.

"Did you all make it?" Mikael asked his son.

"No" Elijah told him, "Klaus and Elena didn't make it"

...

Tyler Lockwood and at least twenty other reporters from across the globe were waiting outside of the FBI headquarters. They were all waiting for news about the Mikael son family. The weather was freezing for the time of year. He was wearing a big thick jacket as he waited for a statement from Agent Salvatore. There were a large mix of print and television media; all waiting for news. Finally after what seemed like hours Agent Salvatore came through and stopped in front of the press. Tyler held out his recorder and waited for him to speak.

"We got news that the Mikaelson family and they're associates were trying to get to an unknown location. A plane assistant managed to discover two of them but one of them escaped. The other one is in custody but we can't name anyone for legal reasons" Salvatore informed.

"Wait, so you let get through your fingers; again?" Tyler pointed out.

"Who are you?" the Agent asked stiffly.

"Tyler Lockwood, New York Times, some of your more experienced colleagues know me" Tyler introduced himself, "People say that the authorises can't contain these criminals even when you do catch them. How do you explain five jail breaks? How many more times are you going to let these criminals get away?"

Salvatore gave the reporter a steely look. Tyler was backed up by other reporters who were all saying the same thing. The mood was pretty hostile towards the FBI. People were calling the law a joke. Salvatore looked a little uncomfortable under all this negative criticism and tried to think about what to say.

"All that is in the past-" the Agent began before getting interrupted.

"Like fuck that's in the past!" yelled a TV reporter.

"-But we have captured one of them-"

"Until you lose him again" a man with a strong Canadian accent joked.

All of the reporters roared with laughter.

"We will interrogate this person and discover where the others are hiding" Salvatore said with more confidence then he felt.

"Some say the Mikaelson's are a lot smarter than the law" a woman in her late forties who smelt strongly of cigarettes.

"Then they'd be wrong" the Agent answered smoothly, "Trust us, we will find the Mikaelsons"

"That's just the thing" Tyler said to Agent, "We all stopped trusting you a long time ago"

Half and hour later and Stefan was making his way through the corridors of the FBI. He was about to face his boss. The press conference couldn't have gone worse and now he had to answer for it. His boss was greying badly and his figure had long been ruined. He was a man of authority with 37 years experience. Stefan had respect for his boss. Beside him was Bonnie Bennett in a grey work suit. She was looking rather calm and controlled as she drank her tea.

"Sit down Agent Salvatore" Mr Riley requested.

Stefan sat down in front of him and next to Bonnie. Nervous panic set in as we waited for his boss to yell at him.

"The public are losing faith in us" he stated, "Do you know what happens when people lose faith in the system?"

He wasn't sure whether it was rhetorical question so he didn't answer for a few moments until the silence dragged on; clearly he was waiting an answer.

"The system collapses" he guessed.

"Exactly" Mr Riley nodded, "We need to restore the public faith in the FBI. Do you how we're going to do that?"

"By capturing and keeping these criminals" Stefan answered.

"Correct" he said, "I am proposing that you and Bonnie work together"

Stefan looked at Bonnie and she looked at him. At least he wasn't being taken off the case. Bonnie was dating his brother who he hasn't seen in years. He had no choice but to agree to his boss' choice.

Mikael had sent private cars to pick up his family (with tinted windows of course). Caroline, Henrik and Elijah were in one car and Kol, little Mikael and Rebekah in the car in front. Mikael lived in a large flat in the centre of Beijing. The building looked modern, expensive and efficient. It was a very imposing and domineering place. It was the kind of place that only millionaires would live.

"Where's Daddy?" Henrik asked his mother.

"He's been detained" Caroline lied swiftly.

"When is Dad coming?" he pressed.

"I'm not sure" Caroline lied again.

When they entered his flat, he was there to greet them but he wasn't the man they remembered. Mikael was using a cane to keep him standing. His body looked weak from years of crime. He was thin and his hair was almost completely white. Little Mikael and Henrik looked frightened at the sight of their grandfather. Elijah, Kol and Rebekah looked shocked because he looked sicker in person.

"Welcome my children" he greeted with a wolfish grin.

Liv and Luke are standing either said of him looking at them with interest. There were at least fifteen largely built bodyguards around the large room.

"Klaus and Elena didn't make it" Elijah told him.

"I have no interest in this Elena and I couldn't care less about Klaus" he told his son, "It's merely collateral damage as Klaus would say"

"He's family!" Kol pointed out.

"He's your family" Mikael argued.

"One of them escaped" Luke informed them.

Everyone stopped to look a Luke. Hope blossomed in Caroline's heart. Could Klaus have escaped or was it Elena? Elijah wasn't sure who wanted to be free more. Elijah suspects he was strong feelings for Elena that he wasn't ready to admit.

"Who escaped?" Caroline demanded.

"We don't know"

...

Marcel was at home calling everyone he knew in his old life. He needed some answers now. Where was Davina? She's just completely disappeared. Marcel was getting nowhere. Nobody knew where Davina was. So he starts doing something he hasn't done in years; he starts to cry. Big sobs run down his face as he starts crying. Marcel was nothing without Davina and he needed her back. Suddenly his phone rang so he immediately answered it.

"Hello Marcel" came Markos 's voice.

Marcel hadn't heard that name in years. Markos used to work with him when he worked for the Mikaelson's. He should have known he was the one who kidnapped Davina. After what Marcel did to him he was surprised he hadn't moved sooner.

"What do you want from me?" Marcel hissed.

"I want revenge for happened ten years ago in Dallas" Markos answered with hate in his voice.

"I know you do" Marcel nodded.

...

Meredith was currently on a bus to the airport. She needed to find her son alone. She'd managed to give Enzo the slip a few miles back. Meredith was wearing a blond wig with green contact lenses. She sat at the back so tried to keep to herself. The sound of the radio was blaring over head.

"According to the FBI they have captured one if the criminals but refused to say which one. In other news..."

Meredith hoped it was Kol that's been caught. She hated him and was determined to steal their son from him.

...

It was time to interrogate the prisoner. Stefan made his way to the interrogation room. Through the prisoner they would discover where the others were. His phone began to ring so he answered the call. It was from his brother, Damon. Confusion set in as he tried to think of what to say. Why would his brother be calling him?

"How are you holding up?" Damon asked his little brother, "Those reporters can be pretty vicious"

Stefan smiled at his brother's concern as made his way to interrogate the prisoner.

"I'm fine thanks" Stefan answered, "How are you doing?"

"I miss you brother" Damon told him.

"I miss you as well" Stefan admitted, "Do you want to meet up later for coffee?"

"Sure" Damon replied, as happy as Stefan, "Who did you catch anyway?"

"I can't tell you that Damon" Stefan laughed, "I'll meet you at our regular spot"

After the phone call ended Stefan stepped into the room with the guards. The prisoner was chained to the table. Stefan sat down and started rolling the recorder.

"Hello" Stefan smiled mockingly.

...

Somewhere in China a person was entering a hotel. The hotel worker looked confused because that person had no luggage of any sort. That person looked like they'd ran a few miles. There dirt in that person's hair and on their clothes.

"Are you OK?" the worker asked in broken English.

The person's head shook.

"Who are you?"

"I don't know"
