The finding of a meeting place took a while. Fred and George had said they should use the chamber of secrets, an idea Ginny had quickly shot down, not that anyone could blame her. Then they thought about the forbidden forest, but it would be too risky trying to sneak so many students out of the building and into a dangerous forest without umbridge noticing. To pretty much everyone's surprise it was Neville who found them a place the learn. The room of requirement.

Hermione was preening when they found it, he expected to see her scratching herself against the walls like crookshanks does. Purring and dopey eyed. Of course she didn't, just went full on Granger nerd mode and begun telling them all about it.

"I can't believe there's a room in hogwarts we didn't know about." Fred grumbled angrily, George couldn't help but agree, glaring over the wide room. He wondered just how much the room could show, just what it could do. Whether it could show a night sky and have a grassy floor. Or maybe a beach, George couldn't remember the last time he had gone to a beach.

The first meeting came soon after Neville had found the room of requirement. All of them filing into the room and collapsing on comfy cushions the room seemed to think they needed. Not that George was complaining. Names being thrown around as they tried to figure out a better name for themselves and what they were doing.

It was Ginny who decided on Dumbledores Army. A name that everyone loved. And then they really got down to business with the first lesson. Harry putting them up to working on their expelliarmus'.

George didn't want to be a dick, Harry had said that if it was beneath anyone they should leave, but honestly. He did feel that it was beneath him. He had been doing it since first year and could do It perfectly, same as Fred. Still, neither of them were about to mention their disappointment at the basic spell being their first weeks lesson so instead they went about practising like good boys. Or more. They went about shooting zacarius smith in the back with non verbal spells. Harry eventually noticed them.

"Sorry Harry, couldn't resist." George apologised despite the way he was already flicking his wand at the sandy haired boy again. Harry just rolled his eyes and walked off.

"Fred. George."

"Uh oh" Fred mumbled.

"Yes Granger." George said politely, spinning to face her.

"Please take this seriously."

"We know how to do it already Mione." Fred said calmly.

"Well then you should keep practising, not messing around."

"You're not practising either." George pointed out.

"I was but then I saw-"

"I know you find it hard to tear your eyes away from us but honestly Granger. You should practise." George retorted cockily.

"George."

"Yes dear."

"Come practise with me." The girl ordered, eyes dark, George felt a slither of fear slip through him making him gape. No-one in their mind wanted to be on the receiving end of a pissed of Hermione's wand.

"I'm actually working with Fred at the moment so."

"George."

"You're so dead." Fred whistled, quickly walking away scooping Ron along with him.

"I don't think it's very good for you to bail on your partner, rather rude of you actually. You don't want to be rude do you Granger?" George tried.

"I don't really mind."

"But-"

"You scared of me George?"

hell yes I am. George thought, but still, he was George Weasley and he had never backed down from a challenge.

"...Bring it Granger." and so the rest of the lesson past with the two flinging spells at each other. Harry huffed when he noted they had moved off of expelliarmus and onto just trying to beat one another with random spells but he did mutter 'good form George. Great as always Hermione.' as he walked past so he couldn't have been too annoyed.

And so, for a small time everything was good despite what was happening outside, and inside of hogwarts. Voldemort was still out there, umbridge was still a bitch set on scarring Georges hand and George was still taking Fred's detentions. But, they had the DA. They had quidditch practise and it seemed to be going okay.

That was until the first quidditch game of the season. Gryffindor versus Slytherin. The most anticipated game of the season despite the fact it was the first. It was always the most violent and interesting, the interhouse rivalry at an all time high.

The game itself went well, apart from of course the Slytherins taunts at Ron. George could see he was nowhere near as good as Oliver, not yet. But he thought that was more nerves that was messing him up. Despite everything they won.

"Good game Harry" George said happily pulling the boy into a one armed hug.

That's when it all went to shit, when the sore loser that was Malfoy began spouting shit about their mother.

"Leave it." Harry ordered. Grabbing George before he could dive at the kid. George could feel anger bubbling in him, fists clenching as he tried to shrug Harry off. "It's just malfoy being Malfoy." Harry said, George knew it was true, that Malfoy was just trying to get a rise out of them.

"Or perhaphs you can remember what your mothers house stank like, potter, and Weasleys pigsty reminds you of it" Malfoy laughed. George looked to Harry for a a split second, a plea to let him go. Insulting George's family was bad enough, but talking about Harry's dead mother, that was too far. Harry was on board, as he was letting go of George and the two were running for Malfoy.

It was a quick fight, kicks and punches slamming into Malfoy, The kid only manage to land one hit on George before he was on the floor, the two over him trying to beat him into a pulp.

Madame hooch was the one who stopped them. Sending them to mcgonagalls office. IT was going okay, considering, mcgonagal was screaming, doling out the detentions. Something George could deal with, then toadface entered, banned them from quidditch and confiscated their broomsticks. Along with Freds.

"Sorry I got you banned." George said quietly that night when he was sitting on his bed, prodding his bruised lip with his wand.

"S'fine." Fred said.

"It's not and I'm really sorry."

"George. It's fine. I would have gotten banned myself had Angie not been holding me back." Fred mumbled, pushing Georges wand out of the way and quickly using his own to heal the small cut on the man's lip. "I'm just glad you gave Malfoy a nice beat down." Fred said with a grin.

"What are we going to do without quidditch" George asked.

"I don't know...Study" Fred said, causing a laugh to burst out of George. "Hey. We could."

"We won't"

"True. But it's an idea. I guess we'll have more time to work on our products. You'll have more time to woo Granger.

"I doubt it. She's barely talked to me. She's always with Harry and Ron." George sighed, scrubbing a hand across his face. He didn't notice until too late that he'd used the wrong hand.

"What's that?"

"What's what?" George asked innocently,

"On your hand. There's something there." Fred insisted, reaching for his twins hand, George felt himself paling as he quickly ripped his hand further away.

"Nothing, think your seeing things." George said. "Shall we go to the kitchen, i'm pretty hungry"

"George."

"It's nothing."

"Then why won't you show it to me."

"Because it's nothing and it's a waste of time. Now, food"

"No, show me your hand."

"Fred just drop it." George pleaded watching as Fred slowly deflated and gave a short nod, "Alright, good. Now lets go get something to eat sha-'

"pertrificus totalus." Fred mumbled. George barely had enough time to mutter a 'fuck' before his arms and legs were locking to his side and he was tipping over backwards.

"What the hell are you two doing?" Lee asked, strolling into the room arms full of food.

"George's hiding something from me." Fred said calmly walking over to George. George watched as Fred appeared above him, looking down at him with worry on his face. He wanted to move, to cover his hand and slide from the room but he couldn't do anything but lay there. Closing his eyes as Fred pulled at his sleeve and peered down at his scarred hand.

"I must not make stupid products." Fred read. "What the hell is this?" Fred snapped, turning to look at George who would have shrugged had he had control of his body. "Lee, did you know about this?" Fred asked, Lee throwing his food onto his bed before he was coming over to look at the hand.

"That umbridge's quill?" Lee asked. George looked up and down trying to mime nodding with his eyes. "Man that sucks. How many times is that? mines really faded." Lee said, pulling up his sleeve and looking between his thin, barely visible marks and Georges thick pink scars.

"Umbridge did this" Fred growled, finally unlocking George from the curse. "You didn't think to tell me that umbridge was torturing you" Fred snapped

"It's really nothing! Just a little scar"

"It's a scar so it's obviously not nothing." Fred hissed. "Is this why you've been taking my detentions?"

George nodded.

"What the hell is wrong with you. Why didn't you tell me. Or Dumbledore, or Mcgonagall or anyone."

"Because they can't do anything and I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to worry" George said honestly.

"Are you a moron?"

And so it went on. Long into the night the two of them arguing about the mark on the back of Georges hand as if it could change anything.

"Stop taking my detentions!" Fred ordered.

"No."

"Why?"

"Because i'm already scarred why should you have to be as well?"

"I'm not just going to let you get this done to you."

"Can you two shut up so I can sleep. Fred, trust me. I've looked into it. There's nothing we can do to stop her doing it. We just have to take it and hope she dies at the end of the year."

"Here here." George said happily. "I'm going to bed."

"Bu-"

"Fred. Please. I get that you're worried but I'm fine. It doesn't even hurt that much and I just don't see the point in us both going through it so I'm going to keep taking your detentions."

"If it weren't for the DA we'd be gone." Fred grumbled. George couldn't help but agree with him. They had their shop in Diagon alley, along with the little flat above it. It would be easy to leave school. Granger however, it would be a lot harder to leave
