Hello there guys. I know, it has been a while. I started re-reading MV a few days ago, I also tweeted Rachel Caine after I found out that she has released a book with all the online short stories she wrote, and new ones! I was shocked... So I ordered that yesterday, I did begin to write a chapter the other day, and a very good one at that and then my laptop switched off and I hadn't saved it. I could have updated before now, but work has been my life these past few years haha, HELP ME ESCAPE! Anyhow I have decided now is the time to return, has it really been four years now? My good friend Clyrnin forever and I don't really speak that much now with life happening which upsets me, but as understandable as it is, I have to write this on my own now, but she can rejoin at any time, but she is busy and so am I, so therefore this chapter will be written by me, and I hope you enjoy my lovelies. I honestly hope she is doing good and if you're reading twinny I miss you! Anyhoo Long time no see, enjoy. -Kisses-
Chapter 5
3 months later
Things were different now, she was different. Dark, mysterious and beautiful. Vampirism had changed her, she noticed, everyday. Her eyes had darkened to a bottomless black, gold dancing around her irises like a taunt. Her skin now a smooth porcelain as if to break just by a single touch, her body, now of a woman, her lips now deep dark red, as if stained by her victims, she was a killer now, and a brilliant one at that. She is not a little girl no more, she is a Vampire. She is Claire Danvers.
Stalking the streets at night was effortless, she prowled within the shadows like a feline, her dark clothes blending into the night, her eyes glittered when she caught on a scent, the faint red raising into her irises in a rush, ready to fulfil her hunger. A poor innocent boy walking from TPU would do, no protection, no clue as to what happened outside that prison, she took her chance and stalked slowly. Why rush? Why not enjoy the hunt? Her steps were quiet until she hit the sidewalk, she wanted her presence to be known. The click of her heels did not alarm the boy, as she noticed he wore headphones. Now was the time for games, for she loved to play. Claire briskly ran behind him and knocked his headphones to the floor before escaping. She giggled at his confusion, before he put them back on she went over again and breathed in his ear, before licking it and escaping again. Now she had what she wanted. His attention. She went back to stalking him, following his every move. Behind him she followed, before they reached an alley. Perfect, oh so delicous. Now was the time. She jumped in front of him and placed on finger on his chest, before leaning forward and licking his cheek.
"Hello. Are you lost?"she said in her most innocent and caring voice. "Because I can help you, all you have to do is say yes," her giggle rang in the air.
The nod of his head was enough, and with that she kissed him, taking his breath from within him, kissing until he couldn't breath no more, and just before he would reach death, she stopped. When he opened his mouth to breath again, she sank her fangs deep into his throat, and dragged him into the alley, where no one but her could relish in his silent screams, and the echoes of her pleasure. When it was over she placed his body against the brick wall, and kissed his forehead.
"They look so beautiful when they are dead." were her last words as she tasted the remaining blood from her lips before running into the night.

Claires POV
I can't explain or begin to describe what I feel right now. Everything was different, lighter, swifter and almost as if I was flying through light. It was magical. Except the hunger. The hunger that ripped through my veins and took me to another place. Dark. Almost as if I was drying out, gasping for life. I needed the fill, I had to have it. My arms and legs would move of their own accord, ready to hit the ground and run and hang on to the first person I see and drain them of everything they had. Blood, life and love. I wanted it all. But I could never admit that. No matter how much this made Myrnin happy, it made me happier. I loved the darkness, I wanted to give in to it, it was so wrong but I felt like it was natural. But I can never say otherwise. I felt the change, I was growing, my appearance changing, I was becoming a woman. Strong, fast and powerful. I could feel the pull and seduction and I just want to let go. Absorb it all, and become what I am meant to be. But right now I had to pretend.
It wasn't long ago since things had began to change, Morganville had become quiet, less and less deaths of humans, and more deaths of vampires. No one knew quite what was happening,
"Eve, come on. Do I look like I need counselling?"
"Shane, you leave the house early hours of the morning to do god knows what. What is going on with you?"
"Nothing. Look I am just having a hard time right now. My dad is dead, Claire is missing. I- I don't know what to do." Eve suddenly embraced Shane.
"It is okay to feel like this Shane. You can have emotions you know. We'll find Claire. We know she isn't dead."
Eve was trying to convince herself rather than Shane. She had thought Claire was dead when she didn't return home. She tried endlessly to contact the founder on her whereabouts to be confronted with excuses. If she was dead they'd know, wouldn't they?
Whispers ran through the trees, the darkness was settling in. Morganville natives were walking faster, trying to get home before the sky was black. No one walked the streets of Morganville at night. Only the dead. Amelie was sat in her office drowning in her own self pity. The endless fear of others finding out she was vulnerable suffocating her. Vulnerability was not something she was used to. Being ice cold and the foundation of Morganville she had no reason to be. But she was now.
Her thoughts took her away from the world, so much so she did not realise she had company.
"Hello Amelie." The richness of his voice pulled her out from whatever she was thinking, she gripped onto reality hard. Too hard she stuttered her words.
"O-Oll-Oliver." It wasn't a question. It wasn't anything if not disdain within her voice. If not for her stuttering she would have seemed more threatening, but she just sounded adrift.
"Fumbling your words isn't like you Amelie. I remember you being more careful than that." he wanted to push, to irritate, but he got no response. That angered him, so much so he approached her desk and slammed his hands down, snapping Amelie from whatever daze she was in.
"Oliver? What are you doing here, I thought you left?" Amelies voice fell quiet. "Tell me has the war begun again?"
"Oh for gods sake Amelie, I do not know what trickery you are trying with me, but I am not in the mood for your games!" His hands swiped everything from atop her desk. Amelie suddenly rose her fangs descending, she was angry now, she wrapped her wiry hands around his throat.
"Don't you ever come here again Oliver. Or this time I will kill you myself" it was as if nothing had happened, her moments of confusion over. Clarity returned. "Whatever you came here to do, extirpate it. I'll have no more." He laughed, deep and menacing.
"I do not believe you can hurt me in your condition my dear." He turned away with no trouble, her arms sagged to her sides.
"Do think of me Amelie, I do miss our disputes. Adieu" as he left Amelie fell to her desk once again, consumed with exhaustion. He knew, he knew she was not herself, but a ghost of the Amelie she once was. She was weak, her body felt heavy and fragile. Light dimmed, and everything faded. It all went quiet. For now.
Midnight in Morganville was peak time. Stalking through the hot air his hand tightened around the hard wood of the stake the tip stained with silver. It was one hell of a weapon for someone hunting. Killing made him feel alive, like he had a purpose. The thrill of seeing a vampire loose whatever life they had gave him chills.
There he was out searching, he had to find her and if it meant killing some vampires to do it, so be it. The world would be so much better off anyway. It was then he caught sight of a vampire. This sucker was his to torture. Approaching the vampire was easy, he was already fangs deep in some victim. Grabbing him from behind he plunged the stake into his heart, adrenaline kicked in as the vampire writhed and began to fight. It was then he turned to face the vampire his face dropped in horror.
"Alyssa?"
Claires POV
Tall dark trees twisted into the sombre sky, dust drifted around my ankles pulling me further into the abyss. Hands gripped my shoulders, blood seeped through long broken claws. My skin drained of colour, bodies fell to the ground as I tore their throats out, and smiled as I gritted my teeth, the taste of blood lighting my soul on fire. The smell tickling every sense, enveloping me in a hug so tight it rid of the breath within my lungs. Hands grasping onto every dimension pulling them all within me the darkness seducing me, taking my soul into its black mouth devouring every humane feeling within me, I am the darkness now, it is my air. It's me.
I woke up gasping for air, I couldn't breathe, it felt like I was washed of life, I felt dark. I couldn't see a thing, I tried to open my eyes to no success. I leaped off the bed and began to search for Myrnin. "Myrnin? Myrnin I can't see," I cried. "Myrnin?" it was then when a hand touched my shoulder.
"Oh child, I see you've changed" his rich intoxicating voice engulfed me.
"Oliver?"
"Oh my sweet I think we need to have a little talk." he whispered into my ear.
It was then I opened my eyes, to see Oliver stood there drinking in the sight of me. His eyes trailed my body and as if I could feel it I flinched.
"What do you want? Where is Myrnin?" I kept my voice calm.
"Myrnin is for now out of action. But do not worry child, he'll return so long as you do what I want". His words lingered for a while before I opened my mouth to speak. My eyes began to glisten with red, my vision blurring for a moment before It returned to clarity.
"You're eyes look beautiful when you're hungry. Want something to eat Claire? I can give you what you desire. A taste. Warm blood flowing into your mouth. Is that not what you want?"
He was seducing me. Red danced into my vision once again, my fangs escaping from their hold, I could smell the scent of blood tantalising me further. It was then he approached me, first searching me with his eyes once again, it was then he kissed me. I returned the kiss enveloped in my hunger, I bit his lip, his cold blood dripped into my mouth engulfing whatever restraint I tried to uphold. I was seduced, I was seducing. I pushed him away from me in distaste.
"Is that what you wanted Oliver?" I glanced towards his crotch, it was clear he wanted more.
"Oh Oliver... Suddenly I am a vampire and that is when you find me attractive? Honestly I'm offended," a laugh left my lips.
"Although I'm not surprised," I looked down at myself. "Vampirism did a trick on me" I brushed the rim of my top up and inch before he rushed at me, once again catching my lips within his. The force of him pushed me up against the wall. It was then I felt the darkness creep up again. I felt menacing. I wanted to taunt, to hurt, to kill. His breath tickled my neck, followed by his tongue. Something rippled within me. A desire. It took over I grabbed him by the neck and bit, ripping his skin into pieces. The blood tasted rather sweet something only a pure human would possess.
"You taste innocent Oliver" my words came out like a purr.
"It was for you Claire. He tasted so wonderful, it is only kind to share. Go on... Take more".
I did. I took it all. Once I was done I fell back. Full. Pleased.
"What do you want?" I was suddenly tired of his presence.
"A favour of course. One that I believe you'd be so kind to do for me. Of course that is if you want Myrnin back? Something tells me you do. His scent is all over you. I should have known he'd finally break you." he trailed off.
"I'm getting bored of you Oliver. Want to tell me what you want, or are you just here to fuck me?" I licked my lips, the taste of blood lingered on them. I heard his faint heartbeat quicken.
"I want you to kill Amelie" and with that he was gone.
