Keith had just reached a large ice chamber at the end of a long corridor when Lotor entered the room. The ice was still melting around him.
"So, you didn't fall to your death. Well, all the more pleasure for me." Growled Lotor. He drew his sword. "Though I'm not sure I want to wait for the brat or let him rip you to shreds when I can do that myself. I think there's an Earth saying about how to get something done right? "
" You still think you can control him?" said Keith. He had to find a way to get Lotor in one of the ice pools if he was going to leave the mountain alive. "Daniel is stronger than you think. If you're not careful, you might be the one being controlled."
Keith noticed that the ice along the floor of the chamber looked wet, but his Voltcom was still reading the temperature as 24 below zero. Then out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a shadow dashing around. He knew what he needed to do.
"Think about it this way. You're already a failure in what's left of the Drule Empire, after more attempts than anyone else could dream of. Just how many times are you going to make us bury you before you stay dead?" Continued Keith. Lotor was starting to steam as he glared at the commander. He started to charge at Keith, but Keith dodged it with ease. "Are really going to hurt yourself and risk a teenager controlling you? Worse yet, one that isn't remotely related to you? They'll be laughing into the next millennia about the 'great and powerful tyrant' who was the puppet of a teenager. Plus, he's from Earth and I'd be willing to bet you know the kinds of pranks and stunts Earth kids like to pull. There's at least ten Intergalactic channels dedicated just to that or does Maahox let you watch TV?"
"The scientist is MY servant, not the other way around!" Screamed Lotor, once again trying a Hagarium blast only to be dodged again. He wasn't seeing the pool forming behind him. "It is you who's failure will be the thing of myth when I get through with you!"
Another lunge and Lotor slipped on the cold wet floor. "Accursed ice! After I'm done with you, boy or no boy, this mountain will be leveled if not left a crater!"
"Lotor's crater doesn't have a good ring to it." Mocked Keith. The trap was almost ready except for the bait.
"So, you've been meaning to lose up to till now? And to think we were just calling you King Loser! I'll bet your investors are angry." Said a familiar voice. Both men turned toward Daniel.
"Are all Earthlings this infuriating or just you two plus that ridiculous cowboy Lance?" growled Lotor. "At least I can have some fun watching you tear each other a part. Boy, rip out your mentor's liver and bring it to me!"
Daniel and Keith just looked at each other then back to Lotor. Finally Daniel said, "Why would you want his liver? Please don't tell me you eat humans. Wait, are you a zombie?"
"A what? Wait a second! How dare you question your master!" Yelled Lotor. "I can control Haggarium! The very element that flows through your veins, mutating your DNA and breaking it down to . . ."
"Was he this long winded before you guys beat him the first time?" asked Daniel.
"He was worse. I guess however Maahox was reviving him, he was able to alter certain things. That maybe why he hasn't been so obsessed with Allura." Said Keith.
"WIL L YOU TWO JUST . . ."started Lotor as the ice under him gave way. With a splash, the Haggarium in Lotor froze and Lotor was instantly incased in ice. Lance, Larmina and Allura walked in just in time to see Lotor's ice tomb float to the surface. Larmina ran to Daniel and hugged him tight.
"Note to self: worry when one of you tells me to chill." Said Lance. He walked up to the ice block. "Well, all and all, that was very anti-climatic, guys. I mean, we've gone from Lion-spider haggarium beast connected to Wade to Lotor on ice. All of our foes are either dead or frozen leftovers. Where's the big monster fight?"
A sudden crash floors above them followed by a deafening screech left all eyes on Lance. Keith asked, "Happy now?"
" Oh, like you weren't expecting that after how many years of this!" yelled Lance.
"I don't know the code for radioactive squid robeast, but . . . GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!" screamed Heather though their voltcoms.
"I don't care who that was, but I think we can talk about story elements later; she needs help." Said Daniel. They began to run towards the hot spring.
"Hmm. . . one hour in the black uniform and he's already taken charge." Whispered Allura to Keith. "That must have been some talk you two had."
"I promise I'll fill you in after this battle, . . .maybe while planning our wedding." Said Keith. "If you still want . . ."
Allura stopped and embraced him into a kiss, knocking him into the hot spring.
"And I guess they're taking care of Lotor." Signed Lance before getting drenched as red was thrown into the water. He spit out the water and said. "Was really necessary, cadet? We really need to work on your landings. Wait, didn't I specifically tell you to stay on the ground?!"
"Do you want to argue with a robeast?" She asked as Lance and the others climbed in their lions.
"No. We fight them and with Daniel back, that squid won't know what hit it literally." Said Larmina.
They flew to the monster fighting yellow and green. Vince (for some unknown reason sporting a green Mohawk) said, "Where have you guys been?"
"Let's just say we put Lotor on ice. You can explain your new hair style later. I think we need the big guy." Said Daniel
"Already here, Daniel" Said Hunk. Everyone else rolled their eyes. "Oh, the other big guy."
"Flash form!" said Daniel as he activated his Voltcom power. Instantly, Voltron appeared before the monster. "So, what readings are you getting?"
"The highest Haggarium readings yet." Said Pidge. "The eye seems to be the cockpit and where the brain would be is the power source."
"I think we may need to pull all our Voltcom powers to defeat this thing." Said Daniel.
"You got it." Answered Will. He plugged his Voltcom into yellow without thinking along with Larmina and Vince.
"Okay." Said Heather. She hesitated a moment, but followed suit with others. Instantly, Voltron began to glow.
"Our stats just went thru the stratosphere." Said Pidge. He double checked his computer. "This is amazing! It's competeily unheard of! It's . . . "
"Something that we can figure out later." Finished Lance. He glanced back at Heather. "Wait you have some weird ability to add to Voltron?"
"I thought everyone did." Answered Heather.
"Form Blazing . . . Dual Swords?" said Daniel. He shook off the surprise and sliced each tentacle that came at them. Finally, he had an opening and was able to slice the bottom of the eye causing an escape pod to eject. Maahox tried to fly away, but was grabbed by Voltron before he could get far.
One Week Later . . .
The cavern was filled with people, some waiting for the hot spring and others for the wedding. The building had been partly restored and now being used as housing and treatment rooms for those infected by haggariurm; one of which was Sven, now serving as a groom's man while his wife Romelle was a bride's maid along with Larmina(Maid of Honor) and Heather. Daniel, as best man, escorted Larmina down the stone path. Everyone one else was in place for the bride and groom—or queen and her king as Lance had joked the day before. All watched in awe as the royal couple walked down the path. They recited their vowels and kissed.
After the ceremony, Lance intercepted the rest of the wedding party.
"Well, now that Lotor's literarly out cold on IO, Maahox is breaking ice on Pluto, Wade and the lider-thing's gone, and our commander finalley married his queen, what's left?" asked Lance.
"We still need to find the fifth planet and the source of my powers." Answered Vince.
"Not to mention rebuilding the worlds that fell prey to Lotor and Wade." Added Allura.
"We also need to figure out what abilities Heather and Will added to Voltron. There's the Haggar mystery we need to solve, too." Continued Pidge.
"And you promised you would teach me hand to hand combat." Added Heather.
"Don't worry, Lance, you won't be bored long." Replied Daniel. "There's no telling what we have ahead of us, but we can handle it as long as we have each other."
Meanwhile on IO, in a cold prison cell Lotor stood frozen in his ice block. His eyes began to glow as the guards changed shifts . . .
Author's final notes: Sorry this took so long. My next story will take place after Black. I don't know if I want Heather to stay in it, but I'm playing with some ideas including a new ancient villain (is that an oxymoron?) with ties to a previous Voltron Force and bringing back all the other villains under his (right now his code name is dark one- suggestions welcome once I publish chapter 1)control. So, what do you think? Heather or new mystery girl/guy? Evil Daniel or evil Vince? Haggar's return or Haggar's conquest? Can Daniel be saved? Does it work without Pidge and Allura? Are Vince and Larmina still too unexperienced? . . . So much to think about. No wonder chapter one's not coming easy.
