Sorry I've been gone for so long, everyone. But things happened when I decided to go on hiatus as things got busy at university. Heck I was half way through writing this chapter when I stopped! Now 2 and something years later, I've graduated from university not once but twice and while I haven't written anything story wise, I have had many story ideas over the years due to me diving in and out of several fandoms. So this week, I am going to either update a story or release a new story as a bit of a welcome back week then try to post a chapter once a month for a story. But for now, enjoy this chapter of Luffy's Curse the re-write.

? – Now where the hell am I?

What?

Zoro - walks passed I thought the tavern was around here somewhere.

Uh Zoro, there's no tavern anywhere near here…

Zoro – Are you serious?

Tell you what, you help me with the disclaimer and I'll take you to the tavern, deal?

Zoro – Sure, why not. She doesn't own us, only any OCs that appear or the plot.

After the Strawhats split up, Zoro continued his training in the Crow's Nest, but his almost permanent scowl remained etched onto his face. He hadn't said anything, because he hadn't thought it was worth worrying the others over but Zoro had kept a close eye on Luffy once he'd spotted it. Once they'd got into sight of the island, Luffy had started acting weird, not acting like he normally did. Sure on the surface he hadn't changed, but he was quieter, less energetic to the point he shot off the Sunny before they'd finished docking without a sound and run off. He normally shouted in excitement, or even grabbed a member normally Ussopp, Chopper or himself and dragged them with him, either yelling out about meat or adventure. But he hadn't, not this time. He was sure Robin at least had noticed Luffy's behaviour and the others would pick up on it in time. Zoro had a bad feeling about this island, but they were stuck here until they restocked and the log pose reset. Hopefully, whatever was bothering him was just his imagination, even if he felt like he should have forced Luffy to remain on the ship and not run off alone. He gave a particularly violent swing, turning up the level of his training to try and escape from these thoughts which were bothering him. Below, in the galley, Brook sat with a cup of tea trying to create a new song, his music sheets spread before him but he was distracted as he'd only finished the first line of notes in the hour he'd been sitting there. If Ussopp hadn't pointed out Luffy leaving, he wouldn't have noticed and that did not sit right with him. Luffy was loud and energetic, to the point that the thought of a quiet Luffy just didn't sit right with you and he'd only just joined. Oh, maybe it was just something he didn't know about which was making Luffy act like this and one of the others would explain it later once they realised he didn't know. That cheered up the skeleton who gave out a yohohoho as he began the song anew, carefully crafting a cheerful little ditty about a happy pirate sailing the seas in search of a treasure, which only he knew (yohohoho).

Sanji walked through the market, smoking his cigarette as he purchased the food he needed to take back to the ship. Muttering to himself as he looked at the vegetables on sale, "That idiot…he better not worry Nami-swan and Robin-chan too much." He'd noticed Luffy had been quiet. When he got back, he'd make sure to lock that rubber idiot in the infirmary with Chopper for a full check-up. Last thing they needed was the idiot getting sick especially if it was something contagious. Sanji decided on which of the lettuces he was grabbing and began looking at the tomatoes. He'd have to see if he could sneak some more vegetables into Luffy's diet again, his diet had gotten too lopsided again. Elsewhere in the market, Franky was purchasing extra supplies of nails as half his supplies had mysteriously vanished. Either Luffy-bro or Ussopp-bro was to blame but neither had been acting sufficiently guilty about it. Thinking about Luffy made Franky remember that Luffy had been rather quiet today. Well that wouldn't do at all. Franky finished his purchasing of nails and went to look for any scrap parts. He'd make something for Luffy-bro which would cheer him right up. "Oh yeah!" He did his signature pose as he shouted, scaring some of the people in the market.

Nami left the shop she'd been in, having found the information she'd been after. The log pose would be set by morning so they could leave anytime tomorrow. Looking around for Robin, she spotted her in the window of the book store and began to make her way over there. She heard someone calling out for Luffy and saw Ussopp and Chopper further down the road looking for him. "They still haven't found him?" Luffy had been acting odd before they had landed but that didn't mean there was anything wrong did it? Robin held 2 books in her arms as she checked to see if there was anything else she hadn't read or wasn't already in their library. She finished pursuing this book shelf and continued onto the next shelf. She spotted a familiar figure out the side of her eye and turned a bit to see Nami looking down the street, a concerned look on her face. Robin knew she wasn't the only one to notice Luffy's odd behaviour, she had done a bit of asking around but she hadn't heard anything which indicated anything about the area which caused changes to people. That lead to it being caused by someone else or Luffy was just feeling a bit odd. She hadn't heard of a devil fruit like that but she'd keep looking anyway. She wouldn't let anything happen to Luffy if she could prevent it.

"Hey this smells familiar." "Huh really?" Chopper sniffed around for a while then started, "Oh it's Ace." "Really, Luffy must have run into him and that's why we haven't found him. They seem to go off that way." "Well Ace has his ship right? Maybe then went to go get it?" "Oh it would be great if he travels with us." Ussopp had been worried about Luffy after his quietness earlier and being unable to find him. But if something was wrong with Luffy, then Ace would know how to fix it. Even though he was relieved now, Ussopp would still talk to Franky when he got back and see if they could rustle something up together for laughs. Chopper was relieved to find the reason they couldn't find Luffy was because he'd gone off with Ace. Still, he was concerned by Luffy's change of personality. Luffy could be ill and Chopper hadn't noticed it! He'd have to give Luffy a full check-up after dinner or before dinner if he returned with enough time. He wouldn't stop worrying about Luffy until he was 100% sure nothing was wrong.

Wow, other than Zoro, Brook, Ussopp and Chopper nobody really wanted to cooperate with me for this chapter. Not the best I've ever written that's to be sure. Now I should probably check on Zoro to make sure he hasn't gotten himself kicked out of the tavern. R & R everyone!

Also for the contest, a couple of people have guessed but not saying if you're right or not but the next clue is:

This person is a devil fruit user.
