Sorry I haven't updated in so long! I was on a bit of a hiatus from writing... For your inconvenience, have 2 chapters!

This new case was really annoying Abby. It was hinky how little evidence there was, and how the evidence she did have led nowhere. She had nothing left to do, nothing left to show or contribute to the case, so she went back to hers. Ever since Emma's biological parents had been revealed, she'd been trying to dig up more.

Kate wasn't the type of person to pull a one- night stand, so something must've been going on between her and Ari. Abby had been able to locate their flight plans, which was hard because they were from so long ago. Their paths crossed several times over the course of three years. Whenever Kate was in DC, Ari was as well. Wherever Air Force One landed, so did Ari.

The scientist needed to find something more concrete, so she made a few calls and got boxes full of evidence days later. It was all Kate's- letters and books, mostly. Abby didn't expect to find anything useful, until her eyes fell on a few bundles of envelopes from the Middle East. She counted over a hundred letters in those stacks, and once she opened them it was revealed that the sender had in fact been Ari.

He wrote her almost every week, and the times he didn't write coincided with the dates they were in the same country together. The letters became more frequent when Kate was pregnant, and they spoke of marriage and how much he wanted to be there for them, but he couldn't due to a long- running classified op. Then the letters dwindled down gradually to once a month or longer until they stopped altogether. Abby guessed Kate would have been at the end of her second trimester.

After some time contemplating the letters from Ari, Abby worked up the courage to call Ziva. "Hey, um… Ziva?"

"Yes, what can I do for you, Abby?" she answered.

"I, um… I need- I was wondering if you still had any of Ari's stuff?"

The other end of the line was silent for a long time. Then her friend replied, "Much of it is still in Tel Aviv. Why?"

"I'm…looking into something hinky. Any letters he might've kept? Yeah, I'd want to see those."

"I will.. have someone send them."
